This was my first visit to the Czech Republic and I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
The Prague Renaissance Hotel is a good hotel.
It’s pleasantly situated not far from the main attractions, and is within easy reach for even the most unadventurous traveller.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and most importantly comfortable.
The hotel staff were excellent, and were very accommodating to any needs that I asked.
I enjoyed a steak dinner in the main Hotel restaurant, which for starter/main/desert with wine and coffee was extremely reasonable, and very tasty, with the waiter actually making a fine recommendation on a main when I was undecided.
The hotel even warned me about the 'dodgy' taxi drivers, which frequent Prague and provided a hotel car back to the airport, which was 1/2 of the price of the airport taxi to the hotel. I thought this was a really nice touch.
My main reservation about Prague itself is that it’s a beautiful city, being spoiled by 'stag / hen' nights, and drunken louts from Europe who've found their 'new Amsterdam'... pity.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still worth a visit, and the hotel does insulate you from the yobs somewhat.
I was considering a 7/10 but that was being swayed by the city itself... It’s a solid 8/10.

Hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk from The Old Town Square and is in an ideal location for sightseeing. The hotel is a solid 4 star accommodation with an excellent gym and pool.
The rooms are large bright and clean (although not much of a view) with large TVs, irons, mini bar, fridge and trouser press. Breakfast was expensive so we decided to eat outside of the hotel. All in all a good choice for a visit to Prague

Loved the stay here from start to end. When you're on a business or social trip for a few days and you'd love to stay right in the centre of town then this Hilton is for you. You're on the doorstep of all the major galleries, museums, shopping centres and outdoor markets. Although I didn't stay there during one of the festivals, I'd love to go back for new year as you're right near old town square where they have all the fireworks going off.
The rooms are what you'd expect from a hilton, along with the service, that I couldn't really fault. I was welcomed and given help with directions from my car by a helpful person at reception.
Despite its central, central location, within the hotel it's very quiet. There's aircon, minibar etc within the room. The working desk was a healthy size and there was a place to put my laptop - they've a laptop safe. There's wifi access, so really you can't ask for more.
If you're working to a deadline - like I was, then there's 24 hour room service and they'll get you anything from the restaurant. Still, it's nice going to a 5 star hotel and dressing casual after a working 18 hours! I was impressed by Gordon's Maze restaurant which is adjoined to the hotel. I've written a review about this elsewhere so I won't repeat myself.
The breakfasts are very huge, I recommend upgrading to the "Breakfast". You'll be running around on this all day. During the colder months, like when I went, I was thankful I ate something as hearty as this!
One evening I went to the Palladium. Despite it's name it's not a nightclub - it's the largest shopping prescient or shopping mall in the country. Tonnes of shops there and it's only 5 minutes from the hotel!
