Pestana Delfim Hotel

Really Lovely hotel, definitely a 4*, we arrived early but our room was ready for us, we got 2 rooms next to each other one with suburb sea views even though we hadn’t paid the supplement (if you have the choice to have a sea view definitely worth paying the extra).
Our room was massive, had cable TV, computer game and payable movies, the bathroom was so nice to and so big even had two sinks. You don’t need to take towels as they are all supplied as well as beach/pool towels. The swimming pool, is very nice, with a pool bar in the middle it wasn’t open though as we were out of peak season, there is a snack bar and a bar open all day right next to the pool though and there are lots of sun lounges all around the massive pool, there is a plunge/small indoor pool but this was inside the restaurant??
There is a small gym, hot tub, sauna and steam room there is also treatments available like massages etc. The beach is about 5mins walk away downhill, quite steep at some points. The beach is amazing and so clean. There is a section especially for the hotel where there are sun lounges and umbrellas, we thought maybe we would of got a discount of the hire of these but it cost 10€ for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella which we thought was pretty expensive....so there is no perk of going to that bit as the rest of the beach charges the same!
There are 2 lovely restaurants on the beach both over looking, they serve main meals as well as sandwiches etc. There is a supermarket about 5 min walk from the hotel and beach, that is the nearest shop. If you want souvenir shops you will need to go into the town of Alvor, it is walk able but would take about 20mins...there are taxis waiting outside the hotel all day and they charged 5€ each way which was reasonable, there isn’t much in Alvor few shops, and a couple of bars and restaurants....Portamio was the next biggest resort you can get a bus from outside the hotel which is 1.50€ each way, there are more shops and that there.....
The Food at the hotel was very good, there was enough selection and was something different each evening, if your a vegetarian though there didn’t seem to be much choice....The breakfast was good, cereals, breads, yoghurts hot breakfast there was plenty to chose from.
There are 2 bars in the hotel there is a sunset lounge which is very chilled out and then there is the main bar which has evening entertainment each night, the drinks were reasonably priced for a hotel.
The staff are very good, we weren’t flying till later in the day but we had to check out by 12 but they gave us a courtesy room to use when we needed it.
We really liked it here, so relaxing just what we wanted, even thinking about going back next year.
