Entertainment for adults, when there was any, was terrible - most families sat around playing cards in the bar all night. We were in our room watching TV by 10pm every night, when we would normally be out until midnight when we are away.
The dining room was like a noisy school canteen and the food was very, very bland. This is the first time we have been all inclusive and would never do it again after this experience.
You cannot swim off the beach - the water is only up to your ankles for about half a mile and there is no coral/interesting fish off the resort beach.
The location is poor - Nabq is about half an hour from Naama bay and there are only a few shops and restaurants within walking distance.
This is a 2 star hotel (not 4 star) - take your own hairdryer - the hotel ones are all broken, it does not look as nice as it does in the brochure (my wife cried when we got to the room), the staff constantly get the drinks wrong and some of them on the reception can be quite rude i.e. taking calls when you are in the middle of a conversation.

The diving in Egypt is jaw dropping - I did 2 dive trips; scuba diving at Tiran island with Aquarius and snorkelling at Ras Mohammed with First Choice. Aquarius were far better organised - there was less waiting around, they are cheaper and there was just as much room on the boat (don't listen to the reps). Note that you cannot scuba dive at Ras Mohammed unless you have the PADI open diving qualification.
We honestly are not normally this negative and there were so many good reviews for this resort on this website but our experience was very different.

stayed at CSR from 28/7/09 until 11/8/09. had a fantastic stay here...got exactly what i requested on my booking form, ground floor room with pool view and also had view of the sea too; room was very good. pools were extremely clean and were deep cleaned as well as daily cleaned during our stay. food was of a very high standard- you could ask for something and they would cook it for you. waiters were very good and couldnt do enough for you. plenty of choice and food well presented; also very good selection of drinks. pool bars were also very good and despite what one review stated recently, children can get served....the egyptians love children and are very friendly. no problems with the ice as it is made from distilled water, also plenty of water available throughout the day and night, either by the bottle or from large dispensers; fruit juices also available in the lounge bar, just help yourself. fresh towels available every day from the towel boys....hello Mobarak and Moustafa! quieter around the smaller pool and the boys will find you a sun lounger if you cant find one, but i never had any trouble. plenty of managment wandering around and all staff are extremely polite and welcoming. spa guys work on commission so will come and try to sell you massages etc but they arent pushy. however, the treatments they offer are extremely good value for money and you get more for your money than you would back in the UK. hair salon is also very good...i paid less to have my hair braided than i would pay for a blow dry back home! they do appreciate being tipped and will accept egyptian, english or us dollars so bear that in mind.....they work very long hours for very little pay!
despite what past reviews have said about the entertainment, it is actually very good. the hotel employ the entertainers, not first choice and this does seem to have made a big difference. we had many enjoyable days and nights with Gigi, Mido, Kimo, Omar. Kelly, Maria and julia.....they all work extremely hard and are great fun to be around. they can even be seen around the hotel when people are leaving to go home, even if it is their day off they will come and dance goodbye to you all. the shops in the hotel will offer you a good deal if you choose to buy from them...i would say you will get better quality inside the hotel rather than outside of it, my husband was ripped off with fake golden virginia outside the hotel but he did get his money back. golden virginia at the hotel is the real thing and still only £7 per 50grams.....duty free at airport tend to run out, also the aircraft coming home, so be advised. airport was from our point of view very good indeed, run by the military with military precision....no hassle on arrival and a very samll delay which was due to a missing passenger for another flight back to the uk....they couldnt board our flight till that one had been dispatched. no horror stories at the airport, we had more hassle departing bristol and reclaiming luggage at bristol on our return! an excellent holiday all round, these people are genuinely warm. if you could just learn one word of arabic then let it be shokran (thank you).......they absolutely beam at you with appreciation. enjoy yourselves if you go here, we cant wait to go back. off to e mail the hotel directly to say thank you, thats how much we enjoyed our stay.

i stayed at coral sea resort and it was the best holiday iv been on!!!
i was reading reviews just before i went and i was thinking oh god what have i booked...!
wen we arrived it was 11pm and the staff couldnt do enough for us.
the bell boys carried are cases to our room.
the weather was absoloutly lush no clouds in the sky for the week even in the shade you could prob catch the sun.july is good for the people who want a tan!
hotel was rele clean beds changed daily and rooms swept.
food was abit boring/repatative.
hotel was right near the beach
iv jus booked to go back this november and cannot wait!!!.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Coral Sea Resort and I have to say that we want to go back there asap as it was wonderful.
There were 4 of us went, myself, husband and 2 boys aged 16 and 12. I was a bit worried about possible tummy upsets but we were all fine, food was lovely and very varied. The Dine Around restaurant was lovely and air conditioned, and we loved the waiters, so funny and helpful. The pool bars also served pop corn and ice cream and at lunch a very nice man set up a bbq by the larger pool and served sausages,chicken and steak to eat on your sunbeds.
It was very hot, still 35 degrees at night time, so you need loads of sun cream, we took factor 50 and still came back a very nice colour. You also need to drink loads of their bottled water, which you get for free from the restaurant.
You also get given free pool towels every day which was lovely and you can take them down to the hotel's private part of the beach too, where they also have a beach bar.
We went on the snorkelling trip to Ras Mohammed with First Choice and it was the best trip ever. The Red Sea is very salty, so don't drink it, but it does help you float with no effort at all, and the fish we saw. 3 of the boat's crew came in with us on each of the 3 stops and the guided us around the coral reef, pointing out rays, parrot fish, angel fish, butterfly fish, and we even saw clown fish - Nemo from the movie.We even had a family of dolphins swimming at the bow of our boat while we were at sea, amazing!!
The staff couldn't do enough to help us, nothing was too much trouble, and we will definitely be going back.

We have just got back from a week at the Coral sea and what can I say it was fab, it was the best holiday we have ever had,we had read some reviews before we went, I was worried about the food and getting an upset tummy, there was nothing to worry about the food was great and there were no upset tummy's either.
All the staff are so friendly and helpful, the entertainment team are great especially GiGi.
The person who really made our holiday was Mohamed and Moberak who work in the towel bar at the river pool they are great with the kids and love a carry on at the pool, my 9 year old daughter took to Mohamed straight away.
When booking trips go to Aquarius on the beach they have the best prices but there is room for a wee bit af haggling, the glass botton boat is a must it was great.
Wash your hands after touching the money because it is filthy I wouldnt be surprised if thats why so many people get upset tummys, we carried had gel every where we went and used it all the time.

" BEST HOLIDAY EVER "

We've just returned from our first holiday to Sharm. Our whole experience was out of this world. Hotel is beautiful, the reception staff are so helpful. All the bar staff are fantastic, and the waiters can't do enough for you. You are treated like royalty.
The animation team are wonderful, so funny, great with the kids. Mini disco is a must, even for adults.
By far the person who made our holiday what it was, was Mohammed at the River Pool. He's so helpful and cheery. Our wee one is only 18 months old and he took to Mohammed like a duck to water. He was his bestest friend. It really was sad to say goodbye to him.

Just returned yesterday from 1 week at Coral Sea resort
.Did not get much of a 'sea view' from our balcony, more a view of the empty hotel opposite. Saying that, our room was very large and the twin beds were wider than average. The room was cleaned daily, but the towels were not changed at all for the whole week. The ppol areas are great with no problem getting a sun bed, but go down early if you want them under the sun shades. The staff are very friendly. If you want to keep your room on, pre-book it with First Choice as its cheaper. Have an aromatherapy message, it was absolutely brilliant and my skin felt so lovely after. Be careful of the food, which was always plentiful and tasty, but we did see a lot of people NOT using the hand was which is by the entrance doors and also picking cakes and bread up with their fingers. We actually saw a woman and her child pick up sme cakes, eat them without even going back to their table, then licking their fingers and picking up some more. No Wonder we got bad stomachs which lasted 3 days of our holiday. See the doctor in the pharmacy for some medication which will sort you out. Have still got a bad stomach today!. Take a trip on the submarine, it was brilliant - we booked with Aquarious down on the beach and was well looked after by our guide.Buy some water shoes if you like to walk in the beach only 40 EP and well worth the money as you will stand on stones and stub your toe, which really hurt. All things considered, even with the bad stomach, was a lovely place and well worth the visit.

We have only just returned from the Coral Sea hotel for our fourth time in 5 years only yesterday! Myself, and my parents went for 11 nights on june 11th untill yesterday and didnt want to come home.
As we have been three times before we knew what to expect. The rooms are always cleaned to the highest of standard and the cleaners are very friendly and do the best they can, the Resturant always offers a big variety of food for all so that no one can say there is nothing they dont like as there is something for everyone. Also the pool staff are very welcoming and it is nice to see the same faces each time we arrive who always welcome you with a smile, wether it is your first time or your tenth and are always happy to help.
The weather was 5* as always and you dont need to stress out about buying too much sun cream or forgetting the odd bits as people leaving, leave spare creams, snorkles ect for people to use.
We did not book any trips with the reps as they are a rip off, we always use Walide the local tour guide who is very good and has exceptionaly good prices for people, first choice offered almost £50 per person per trip whereas we only paid between £10/100 egyptian and it is the same trip as we often bumped into the first choice trip during ours. Located outside of the hotel there is a burger king, if u pass through it Walide's shop is the first one on the left Happy Tours, he will always be there to help.
A good point is that you do NOT need a visa to visit Ras Mohamed. At the airport and also the reps make you pay £15 for a visa if you wish to do this trip, We went by boat wiht happy tours for 250 egypitan for 3 people and did not need a visa whereas if you go with the reps they make you pay fopr the visa which you do not need, which they get a cut off... very sneaky. Quad biking is brilliant but make sure you take a t shirt and proper trainers with you.
Majoirty of the holiday we stayed around the pool but occasionaly went to the beach for a bit of snorkeling off the jetty which was good, the animation team were very funny and even had the oldies having a dance and a laugh, all round good holiday and we will be coming back next year.

This was my second time at coral sea resort, I went mith my parents, my brother and sister and their children. We all loved it and had an amazing time. The staff were really friendly and treated us like royalty. My 1 year old nephew enjoyed it alot and the gardens outside our rooms came in very handy for him to dig in. Last year when I went it was the first choice doing the entertainment and it wasnt very good and there was a lot of complaints about it, when we went back this year we found the entertainment had completley changed. The animation team are amazing and they make sure you are always entertained, they were really friendly especially mariya who made sure we had a terrific holiday. The weather was amazing as always and the food was really good. It was great to see some familiar faces out there and I hope to go back again next year. I would 100000% recommend it :) x

Just got back from the Coral Sea Resort hotel after spending another fantastic two weeks there. This was our third time. We took our daughter, husband and two little children with us for their 1st time and they absolutely loved every minute of their holiday.
Before we went I e-mailed the hotel direct and requested two rooms next door to each other on the ground floor overlooking the pool area and near to the Mermaid Restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff as we were given exactly the rooms we asked for.
The staff are so helpful and friendly, from the towel attendants, bar attendants, restaurant and reception staff. The rooms were cleaned daily and the hotel is immaculate in every respect.
Food in the dine around restaurant is good and plentiful with a vast selection daily. The Mermaid Restaurant on the beach is very repetitive with the same menu every day offering burgers, pizzas etc, but still good.

The only bad thing about the holiday was the last day when we had to come home. Cant wait for next year to come quick enough to go back.

We are a family of 4. Just got back and loved every second of it. A week wasnt enough. Hotel was great and staff were exceptional. So much to do in and around Sharm, a week wasnt long enough!
The Egyptians love English money and the exchange rate out there is very good so would suggest you take all English out. Exchange a little for Egyptian pounds when your out there and keep alot of English pounds to bargain with. You would be amazed how much you can buy with a crisp £10 note!
We did glass bottom boat, st. Catherines monastry, camel riding in desert and quad biking in the desert and discover sharm - none of these required a visa. It appears you only need a visa to visit luxor and cairo. If you dont plan to leave the sinai pininsula when you get to the airport just say sinai only and dont waste your money on unnecessary visas.
We would recommend the Quad bikes at sunset - fantastic. Snorkelling was amazing especally in naama bay. Glass bottom boat was also very good. We took first choice credit crunch pack - 3 trips for £49 per adult and £25 per child.
Please note though becareful when not travelling around with a guide as egyptians can be very pushy even with the kids there. This includes the shops just outside the hotel. Safest bet for shopping is the discover sharm trip where the guide takes you shopping in the old market town.
Also take some clothing that you can cover up a bit more with as many trips require you to cover your sholders and knees even if your a man!
Try and do trips at sunset as its very, very hot in the day.
Dont bother to take towels as you recieve towel cards on arrival which you use to get fresh towels everyday for around he pool or on the beach.
Also have a pen handy as there is lots of form filling to do at the airport.
Have a fantastic time, im sure you will.
The Egyptians love English money and the exchange rate out there is very good so would suggest you take all English out. Exchange a little for Egyptian pounds when your out there and keep alot of English pounds to bargain with. You would be amazed how much you can buy with a crisp £10 note!
We did glass bottom boat, st. Catherines monastry, camel riding in desert and quad biking in the desert and discover sharm - none of these required a visa. It appears you only need a visa to visit luxor and cairo. If you dont plan to leave the sinai pininsula when you get to the airport just say sinai only and dont waste your money on unnecessary visas.
We would recommend the Quad bikes at sunset - fantastic. Snorkelling was amazing especally in naama bay. Glass bottom boat was also very good. We took first choice credit crunch pack - 3 trips for £49 per adult and £25 per child.
Please note though becareful when not travelling around with a guide as egyptians can be very pushy even with the kids there. This includes the shops just outside the hotel. Safest bet for shopping is the discover sharm trip where the guide takes you shopping in the old market town.
Also take some clothing that you can cover up a bit more with as many trips require you to cover your sholders and knees even if your a man!
Try and do trips at sunset as its very, very hot in the day.
Dont bother to take towels as you recieve towel cards on arrival which you use to get fresh towels everyday for around he pool or on the beach.
Also have a pen handy as there is lots of form filling to do at the airport.
Have a fantastic time, im sure you will.
Advice: Would highly recommend the Quad biking in the desert and you have got to snorkel.

We have just returned from coral sea resort yesterday (27 may 09) and stayed there for 7 days. We were made so welcome by the staff and the locals who were always polite with big beaming smiles! The staff always said hi to us and even remembered our names. You were literally treated like royalty! The overall service was fantastic, very quick and accurate. There was a great variety of things for us to eat that was included in our all inclusive package. This ranged from burgers to lasagne! You were never left hungry or thirsty! The overall cleanliness of the place was efficient, glasses were always collected and your room was always cleaned. The beach was lovely with clear water, we enjoyed collecting shells which of course must be put back into the sea, the weather was boiling in the daytime with a nice cool breeze. Sharm really came alive on the night with entertainment and music, and of course the stalls! The locals like to haggle with you for a good bargain and always like to know what price you want to pay, dont be bullied, its all good fun! The one thing i thought was great for shopping in particular was the handbags! Good prices and good quality, i bought mine from the shop at the hotel. The hotel room was spacious with air conditioning and a good variety of tv channels, no complaints there! The swimming pool was clean also. I think Sharm is a place of paradise with the backdrop of mountains and desert, real natural beauty. Me and my family would definitly return there again. A beautiful place.
Advice: Fantastic beach, scenery, weather, what more could you ask for! Neama Bay was a good experience also

I have just returned from 2 idyllic weeks at The Coral Sea Resort. My only complaint is that we weren"t there longer!!! It was our second year there and before we checked in, we did ponder as to whether or not we should have returned so soon, and would maybe be disappointed. We could not have been more wrong, I am pleased to say. We were even more impressed second time around. The choice of food was unlimited. Everything for every palate. Very impressive. The restaurant was spotless, and the waiters were always back and to, offering to bring drinks. The bedrooms were immaculate, as was everywhere else. The Entertainment Team, which consisted of Sam, Gigi, Mido, Maria, Adam and Helena were EVERYWHERE during the day and in the evening. They were always on hand to entertain or just to have a chat. My family and I genuinely feel as if we have got some new friends. I am a Manager at a Care Agency with 80 staff working for me, and not 1 of my staff could hold a candle to the Entertainment Team. They worked long hours, and still always had a ready smile. Nothing was too much for them. The only thing that I did feel was that they were not given any sort of financial budjet by the hotel, and as such, had to buy all props and costumes themselves. I felt that the hotel should have supported them more, because they are a massive asset to the Coral Sea. I will definitely be returning next year with my family, and hope to see all them same faces.

IT SAYS ALOT WHEN YOUR LEAVING THE HOTEL AND EVERYONE IS IN FLOODS OF TEARS AS THE ANIMATION TEAM DANCE YOU GOODBYE THERE WASNT A DRY EYE ON THE BUS INCLUDING ADULTS & CHILDREN.

As you can tell the majority of the reviews are glowing but as anywhere there is always a few who will complain for the sake of it. The waitors are brilliant and the bar staff are great and so friendly even the towel guys. The workers cant do enough for you and as for not remembering what you have ordered to a later complaint i have read, there job isnt to go around delivering drinks your meant to wait but they are trying there best and want to please each and every individual which isnt very easy as everyone is adjusted to different surroundings and procedures withing there own household. They do there up-most to keep everyone happy. The cleaners are fantastic and its exciting to return to your room to see what model he has left using the bath towels. The animation team are brilliant throughout the day and are always up for getting you to join in with the activities they plan, they make an effort to lean your names and actually chat to year where as last year the e3 entertainment staff couldnt care less which let the hotel down sadly. But the ones this year were perfect i think. The hotel should suply them with costumes, or a budget for it as we were told they arent given one and are told to supply them themselves. The hotel is ever so clean and the food is fabulous there is something there for everyone i dont know how anyone could complain. When you enter the hotel your met by people wearing green bands more than blue

the repeat list is gettin bigger and the staff, food, cleanliness and animation team are fantastic IGNORE the few comments who try to let the hotel down seen as they either have to much time on there hands and would rather put bad than good and take into account the amount of glowing reports.
