This was an absolutely marvelous experience for my wife and I and for our family ages from 12 - 24. we were not aware of the hotel but when we described what we wanted to our travel agent they recommended it. The hotel is situated among pine trees just 5 minutes walk from the fabulous beach in a quiet location yet only a short taxi ride to the bustling shopping centre at quinta do lago and the night spots of Val de Lobo - very safe for kids of all ages. We have travelled to the Algarve many times, always over the Xmas period and we've always stayed in the Almancil area, normally in Quinta do Lago or nearby. Over the years, we have sampled so many hotels, apartments etc..., most of which were above average and of good standard. It was therefore pleasantly surprisingly to discover the Formosa Park Hotel which I believe was built just over 2 years ago. We have just returned from the Formosa Hotel.Fantastic hotel great location,short walk through the nature reserve to a lovely beach where sun beds will be waiting.A car is essential if you want to explore the Algarve.Cant wait to return again next year.

I've stayed in tons of places in Algarve and this was one of the best considering quality and price. I've stayed there in August when it was crowded and had a wonderful stay. The staff is very competent and friendly. The suites are quite spacious and confortable, a little bit to the pretentious side but still very livable. It's just a small stroll to the beach and it is a beautiful beach. Breakfast is excelent. Regarding the price it is indeed perfect. Quiet, everything in perfect shape. A family place with a small pool for the kids... more
