I travelled to the Vila Gale Atlantico with a girlfriend at the beginning of March and we had a fabulous time. The hotel was located outside of Albuferia which suited us to a T. We had a good view of the ocean and we were only on the second floor, the rest of the floors must have had a fantastic view. The room was clean, lots of cupboard space and a kitchenette that was adequately, not fantastically equipped. The low flow toilets took some getting used to but I rate the room a four star. We had dinner once in the hotel and it was fine.... more

Good clean hotel with very friendly,cheerful and very helpful staff. Great bar staff but drinks a bit expensive compared to other bars nearby. Must have own transport although hotel has shuttle coach to Old Alberfeira 4 times a day free of charge. Beach really is 5 minutes walk with about 4 restaurants and bars. Lots of activities can be booked through reception. Good food although boring after first week and no childrens menu but special Portugese nights and good entertainment every night. My wife and I along with our 2 year old todler stayed at this fantastic hotel. Room with the sea view was awesome!! Amenities like room/cleaning service/pool/bars were all great.There is a big supermarket 5 minutes walk and a decent beach 5 min walk away. Games room has a pool table/bar football and video games. Alburfeira was about a 10 min taxi journey away at a cost of about 7 euros. I would recommend hiring a car as there isn't much to do in the local area or use the 3 x daily free shuttle service to Alburfiera. I... more

If you're looking for a resort/timeshare time, THIS IS NOT THE ONE FOR YOU! guest here are treated differently compared to other resort type that we've stayed. It's more of a hotel environment with the exception of their restaurant. I have nothing bad to say about the restaurant from the food, to the ambiance and the staff who treated us very well. Great hotel

My family and I have just returned from visiting this hotel (half term week February 2005). We were impressed from the moment we arrived as the reception staff agreed to put us in a junior suite rather than the two rooms we had booked for no extra charge. The room was large and cleaned well every day. We had a fantastic view of the sea. The food was good but did get a little bit monotonous after a week. The only down-side was there was not a lot to do in the area, you really need to hire a car here. more

We found the hotel to be brillant, the rooms were huge and very clean. The service from the staff was helpful and friendly. The only down side was the food in the resturant was not great, but as we were on B&B that did not bother us too much. The hotels location was very good with the long sandy beach just a two minute walk away. I would definitely go back. more

One word to say about this hotel, and that is: amazing! I came with my mum and dad, but had my own room, which was fab! It was superb, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were fabulous, the restaurant was great and had a great variety of food, and we had a perfect stay in this hotel in Portugal. We came in October which I think was a wonderful time to come, because the weather was hot but bearable, and the hotel wasnt busy, which was nice, and the markets and the town was not very busy either. This hotel was an excellent find for our family holiday. We took our four year old and our baby, and found the facililties so useful. Our room was huge and had a kitchenette - invaluable. The beach was a few minutes walk, with great, clean facilities. October was a good time to go because it was warm and not crowded. Also, a supermarket five minutes walk, and some local cafes and restaurants. Hotel offers a variety of entertainment through the day and evening. The staff were friendly and very hard working. This hotel was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and the room was great. The only problem was the toilet did not flush properly but once we had reported it, the problem was rectified within hours. The sea view from the balcony was astounding and the swimming pools were nice - one for adults and a smaller one for children. This part of the Algarve is very quiet and isn't for people wanting to party or enjoy the nightlife - it is more suited to couples and families but the hotel is not far from the Zoomarine and... more

A disappointing hotel, the room was filty and the sink didn't work and even after complaining twice it stayed that way. The seaview was blocked by threes and houses. The hotel lies between houses and appartments where in the evening is nothing to do. The entertainment is only for children; the food is bad. The only good thing is the swimmingpool which is very nice. more
