La Perla Hotel
, Sharm El SheikhLa Perla Hotel Reviews
Hello, well let me start with saying, im no stuck up person and i can rough it and go without with the best of them.
I read reviews before i went and was seriousley worried !
I thought ...right .."think of the worse place you have ever stayed " so i did and remembered. And though nothing could be as bad as the 2 i could remember.
I WAS VERY WRONG.....
We arrive at 4.30 Am as we had a 7 hour flight delay.
woke the 24 hour night man from his bed !
was ordered to read some info and frog marched to our room without a word !
The guy then procedded to put the tv on ,which i was really not worried about at theat time of the morning, leaving it on what i thought was a horror channel which i tried to screan from my son while i grappled at thecontrol to turn the tv off.i stood in silence looking around me while my partner looked into the bathroom , wardrobe and ...well that was it.
so in much need of a nice cuppa we awaited the holiday rep to arrive at 10 am just laying on the top of the bed .
It was my worst nightmare. smelly, sheets so thin yop could see thro them. smelly, no air con in puublic areas, we asked to be moved when the rep arrived.
We had to however stay one night at the hotel and it was the longest day and night ever.
we went to the pool for my son....it was dangerous surroundings,a man took an order for lunch, got it wrong we tried it anyway and decided it was not edible
the eve...food was disgusting, and very limited options.
there where approx 10 people total staying there (German/or Russian0 not a child in sight.
everywhere we went there were exposed wires and at one point my son lifted a piece of hanging wood and said mum whats this ..i nearly died when i saw all the electrics under it.
IT SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE HOLIDAY LIST !!
This place has only one chance, close half do it up ,have holiday makers come... then once made enough money ..do other half up ?
WE MOVED TO ANOTHER HOTEL WHICH EVEN ON FIRST SIGHT WAS A PALACE AND A GREAT PLACE TO STAY.
MY ADVICE REBOOK YOUR ACCOMODATION AND PAY MORE IF YOU HAVE TOO.BEACH ALBATROS SHARM

My husband and I have just returned from having a great holiday at La perla sharm. Yes, it is a 3 star and getting a bit tired, but the friendliness of the staff and of the other holiday makers more than made up for it. Yes, the food was slightly repetative, but there was enough variety to have changes every day (where else would sea bass be on the menu daily?) It was my 65th birthday whilst we were there, and I was presented with a cake complete with candle and a waiter serenade of "happy birtthday" We have been to 4 & 5 star hotels in sharm, and if people would stop comparing la perla with these and enjoy what they have paid for there would be a lot more positive feedbacks. We will definitely be back in September and look forward to seeing Tarek, the restaurant manager, DVD the bar manager , and our wonderful cleaner again.

30/12/10-06/01/11 Myself and my wife had the misfortune to be staying at the La Perla Hotel Sharm El Sheikh. The staff were ok The hotel is dirty and very dangerous most of the fittings in the rooms are loose and damaged. The room needed painting the curtains and nets look as if they have been up since Ramsey's 4 was alive. The food was the left overs from the day before its a fact that you will be spending a while on the toilet . The chemist at the side of the hotel made a killing out of the unlucky enough people that were staying their.Avoid this hotel at all costs unless you want to lose weight. It really is terrible.
- Advice: Avoid this hotel if you value your health.

i read the reviews for this hotel after we booked it and was a bit worried about staying here, but Ive been here 3days and cant fault it for the price, the staff are all friendly and will go out of their way to help you,the rooms are clean, the air con is excellent, the food is a bit rubbish but there are lots of good and reasonable restaurants around, the people that write the reviews are nit-picking to be honest, what do you expect for the price? its excellent value for money and if it was in Ibiza it would definatly be bumped up to 4* do not listen to these reviews from people that just like to moan!!!

When arriving at this hotel it was fully booked which we had not been made aware so we got moved up to another hotel, no apologies given. Before going i read alot of reviews on how bad this hotel was but choose to see for myself what a mistake it was awful. I waspoorly the whole stay by the awful food- this is not an all inclusive hotel as the cups they give you are tiny and they get funny if you go up more than once, the cups were also pure filth. After day one i did not eat there at all the food was really bad. The sports pool made your private region burn as i have also now read in other reviews. The pool had no chlorine in and i never saw it get cleaned. People please do not make the same mistake as us if you have booked this hotel please change it, it totally ruined our whole holiday and has put us off going back to egypt

If you book this hotel please be prepared for a very low standard accomodation with shocking management, rude and arrogant staff, and most importantly - massive health and safety risks. Myself and my husband have just returned with chronic D&V which we had from day 3 of the 'holiday'. Most the guests at the hotel also suffered - with some of them needing hospital treatment and drips. It was later found the water we were drinking was contaminated and stagnant. During our stay bar tenders were also seen to drink from the bottles served to guests; and the 'all inclusive' drinks were served in thimble size scratched plastic cups (most guests bought and carried around mugs to drink from and clean themselves to avoid using these); spirits and liquers were watered down and tasted disgusting.
The hotel only provides drinking water (contaminated and in a tiny cup) in bar opening hours - so you need your own supply (more money along with the medication and medical treatment you need to pay for).
The pool and pool area are filthy (all our swim wear and t-shirts are ruined with oil and filth from the pool. There are several loose areas of flooring, crumbling garden walls, and children frequently fell through the pool-side filter slats and hurt their legs. Electrics in the rooms were the greatest concern, however, with loose uncovered wires and sockets.
The staff and 'new' British female manager did not seem to find any of this a concern and offered no compensation or solution. It was insulting and infuriating. In the UK this hotel would be closed down. We will never return to Egypt after this experience and the attitude taken towards dealing with it.

The best thing about this hotel is the barman DVD the rest as in so many other reviews is shocking the rooms are clean but not up to standard please dont get an electrc shock from the powerpoints as we did.
The food is the same crap reheated time after time eat it at your own risk if you want to lose any of your holiday due to having the runs and really bad stomach cramps.
If you have children please DON'T book this hotel for your holiday they dont cater for childrens need's.
Some of the hotel staff are lovely the others need a course at charm school they can be rude and even tell you if you don't like it you can go home that makes you feel really welcome.
I have rated this just for the staff more than anything else as some of them go out of there way to make your visit to Egypt a more pleasurable experience.
