First time in Egypt and I can honestly say the hotel let us down. All inc.ended at 10pm then the only place to get a drink was in the hotel lobby at a price. All soft drinks were warm the bar was just a hut. Entertainment was non existant and the food was the same day and night. Needless to say my partner and I had serious stomach problems after 3 days. There were never enough glasses and most of our drinks were served in plastic cups. Meal times were rushed affairs where the waiting staff couldnt wait for us to finish eating before whipping our plates away.Rooms very basic and no hairdryer. Have stayed all inc in other countries where food and drink went 24 7. This place was a huge disappointment and I would not go there again. The whole point of all inc basis is so that you dont have to go searching around for food and drink unfortunately that was not the case here and I could not recommend anyone to stay here. Am glad that we were only staying a week.

I stayed here with my girlfriend from june the 9th-21st, and had a fantastic time here at the la perla.the hotel overall was basic, but its value for money, so you get what you pay for. The hotel was always spotless clean tho, and the rooms were aswell with clean sheets daily and some different animal or thing there on your bed made out of towels, which is always a good welcome after coming back to the room. the food is not great, but you can always make a meal out of something, failing that, you must try the mc donalds just a 5 minute walk round the corner, there HUGE!!!,....as well with lots of other resturants bars and shops. The all inclusive wasnt to bad, but would be better if they didint stop serving at 22:00, which means you have to pay for your own. the hotel staff are very friendly, and will always help you.
The atmosphere around the hotel is good, a fantastic fella called Khalid..(karl) is very funny aswell where he wants you to join in with water volley ball, and hes own entertainment in the evenings, where he puts on a fire show, and belly dancing, (even i had a go which was a laugh).
During the day its nice to go and enjoy some bedwin tea, and a shisha pipe, in the little bedwin tent, with another fantastic guy called mustafer, hes always happy to help you,
so overall the hotel was fantastic, its close to all the main attractions, ie nama bay, fantasia, cleo park, the beech for snorkling and the quad bike safari (a must!!), so hopefully anyone else would enjoy it, as much as me and my girlfriend did, which im hopeing i will be returning for another week in september as i loved it so much

I have read very bad things about this hotel and very good things before going to this hotel.
I can say that sharm is a very lovely place to visit with lots to do.
I personally wouldn't stay in this hotel again all inclusive as it isn't value for money but i would stay on a B&B basis..
The bar isn't really a bar it is just some bottles of really cheap alcohol.. and as for soft drinks you have a choice of fanta, sprite, coke. no juices.... i don't drink fizzy drinks so they could not cater for me. and also the drinks were always warm they do have fridges but they don't really keep the drinks cold.
The food is ok if your looking to go on a diet of look at the food you don't wanna eat it so you don't eat.. the food was normally just warm not hot and was always the same or similar things every day..
Do not drink the orange that the provide for breakfast as it is diluted with TAP water and will make you ill as many people found out.
I have no complaints about the room or the pool as i thought it was very clean and tidy... some of the sun beds in the pool area do need a re vamp but thats normal...
The staff are nice and friendly as long as you are to them.... be careful if you are traveling as a group of girls as they will always ask you to go out with the after work especially Mohammed (tall skinny one in a white shirt)
The area in sharm it is in is very nice and not far from the beach and the new mercarto.. a shopping centre where you don't need to haggle for price and you will not get hassled or just a bit further down the road is the market and fantasia.
in the mercarto there is your typical Mcdonalds KFC and Pizza hut and also Chinese Italian and seafood restaurants.
I will be returning to sharm but only on a B&B basis as there is plenty to eat out and it is cheap! but i don't think i will be staying in LA perla...

I have just got back from staying at La perla hotel for 3 weeks. The staff there are great and cannot do enough for you. The animation Team Kal and Julia are awesome, i even worked with them a few time and had loads of fun. The food at the hotel is very terrible, always the same thing from lunch and dinner and is very bland, boring and not cooked properly. The drinks here are also limited and can only have local spirits and beers which is not very good and i didnt have a alcholic drink in the 3 weeks i was there.
The rooms are cleaned daily and have clean towels too. The pool is cleaned everyday which i think was good.
Me and my bofriend had alot of problems with our room during our stay - our shower broke twice, our toilet also broke and our lights tripped off...!!!
Outside the hotel and to the left there is a place called "THE PUB" its lovely, a proper ENGLISH bar. They do a full english breakfast which is lovely and they also provide a roast dinner which is also very nice.!
Down the road from the hotel is a new shopping mall called " IL MERCATO" its amazing in there, they have nice shops to get prezzies 4 people back home and have places to eat too like McDonalds / KFC / Pizza Hut & Hardees. Ther are also some nice restaurants in there called Man Chou Wok which is a chinese and is gorgeous food and just next door a place called Onions which is like an italian and is very cheap.
We went to cairo by coach to see the pyramids and this was a best part of the holiday it was absolutly amazing. we went to the museum and a boat on a river nile.
Me and my boyfriend went quad biking in the desert which i would reccomend it was wicked. i would defo do this again if i was to go back to Sharm.
I also swam with Dolphins which was incredible, i had always wanted to do it and it didnt cost all that much money.
I think overall i would go back to Sharm but not to this hotel - its terrible.!

I hate the fact there a people on here saying this hotel is rubbish. Yes it a 3 star hotel and you know what we loved it. Ok the food isn't great and if you're anything like my wife (fussy) you might have problems but down the road from the hotel there is il mercato, the most amazing shopping centre you'll ever see. they have kfc, mcdonalds, pizza hut etc etc etc. The staff was friendly especially khalid (miss you man), betty, ash (pool barman), mohammed (waiter) and Jamjam (lobby barman). They made the holiday great and it was sad to leave them. The hotel was clean, everyday you're room was cleaned and if you lucky your bed sheets and towels will be arranged in shapes of crocodiles, swans or even babies!!! The pool was cleaned every morning and you will constantly see the cleaning staff around the hotel doing what they do best. The all inclusive drinks aren't just coloured water like it has been said on here they good enough to get the party started. The local beer luxor and stella are just like any beer here!
If you want fine dining and everything on the go constantly pay more money for a 4/5 star hotel. If you want to have a great time in the hotel, make friends and get taken out to na'ama bay, go karting, cleo park (with thanx to khalid) come here. You won't be disappointed and if you are why go on holiday if all you going to do is complain stay here in blighty there's enough problems for you.

I have to admit, i was a bit sceptical about arriving in Sharm el Sheikh as we were Accommodation on Arrival so we had NO IDEA where we were staying, but at the airport we were advised it was La Perla and the tour guide explained it was nice. We had read no reviews so didnt know what to expect but to our surprise we arrived and were instantly impressed. We were met and bags taken to our spacious room with 3 single beds, clean towels, power shower, balcony, fridge and plenty of storage space. Everyday our room was cleaned and fresh towels were given. Our room was completely immaculate each day and i totally praise the job the house keeping did. Also Air con was AMAZING...!
The first thing i have to comment on is the staff.... OH MY WORD, we were 3 outgoing scottish girls on holiday and without the staff we would have had a poor time. The waiters were polite, funny, helpful and without a doubt the nicest people i have met. Also the entertainment team - Khalid, Anna and Betty. Entertainment was provided every night except for a sunday and after that they took you into Na'ama bay where the pubs and clubs were and made sure you had a great night. We went out most nights and for 100 Egyptian pounds you got a bus there and back, entry into the club and a free drink, and for 200 egyptian pound it was all inclusive all night. They also made sure you were never left and at 3am when the club closed you were all together on the bus home. I would advise going with the team as if you went on your own it was VERY expensive! If you think how much youd spend on a night in the UK for all that £30 english pound IS NOT ALOT... I recommend, Pacha, Hard rock Cafe and the cool little bars in front of Hard rock where the staff danced all night and were in the happiest mood i have ever witnessed all night every night! AMAZING!
We also booked the Quad biking in the desert which was about £30 (english) and the Ras Mohammed boat trip £25 (english) BY FAR THE BEST BOAT I HAVE BEEN ON... 3 stops to go snorkelling and it was like being in a tropical fish tank. The staff on the boat were brilliant too... good fun! definatley recommend both trips and brillaint value for money!
The one down side to it all was the all inclusive in the hotel finished at 10pm and we only ever headed out at about 11-11.30pm so you needed to get the drinks in quickly which was a bit of a nightmare BUT there was a shop RIGHT next door so you could get some drink from there to keep you going.
Food - hmmm, there was plenty of it and was generally the same each night but all in all i cant complain, catered for all tastes, salad, meats, veg, potato, rice... didnt make us sick or feel dodgy as food abroad can sometimes do... so that was a bonus!
I cant commend this hotel anymore as everything suited us to a T, however i do know this isnt the same with others. The hotel had couples, older people, young people and as far i was aware no complains were had, everyone we met was having a great time.
Last but not least... the temprature was great in march, hot through the day and cool at night, i think summer would be too hot for me but WHAT A TAN... get yourself to the beaches for some good colour and mae the most of the scenery!
We would go back in a flash! Best holiday by far! :)

After reading all the horrible reviews about La Perla, my fiance and I were REALLY apprehensive about going here, (we had already booked before reading the reviews!) We were actually thinking of upgrading our accomodation but it was a last minute deal and we'd have ended up paying over the odds.
The hotel is now under new management, as from Jan 09, and they have made a real effort to make it a comfortable place to enjoy your holiday. The building has been freshly painted and the pools were cleaned daily. The bedrooms were a good size with air con and heating if you desired, and the showers were really powerfull! I had the best sleep ever in that bed! The rooms were cleaned every single day to a high standard. Overall the whole hotel was spotless! We went in february, and i did notice a lack of young people and children at this hotel. This suited us fine because there was no rowdiness, mainly older couples.
The food was something that seemed to get a load of complaints, but then you get for what you pay for! This was our first time ever going on an all-inclusive package, so we had nothing to compare it with. For breakfast you could have pankackes, omelette, boiled eggs, toast or cereal, tea and coffee - but yes you could also have the broccoli and veg from the night before if you wished! Lunch and Dinner was a large selection of fresh salads, veg, 2 meat and 2 fish dishes, pasta, rice, bread and 2 types of soup, so there was plenty of variety, and the meat and fish dishes changed daily.
My only comlaint was the vodka in the hotel - totally rotten!!! I had a really sober week because i cant drink anything else, but apparantly the Luxor beer and the rum was really nice. The hotel staff are very helpfull and friendly....but i must say if you are going away as a couple then just let the 'egyptian sleaziness' go over your head, they are very overly friendly with the females.
I loved every minute of my stay at La Perla. We made the most of our week's stay and did a lot of the touristy things, Quad biking, Snorkeling, and the trip to the Pyramids is a must!!!
Will go back to Sharm, but i would probbly choose another hotel that didn't limit the all-inclusive meals to just 3 a day.

i went to la perla hotel in april 07 and i had a wonderfull time i dont really agree with the comments on here i found all the staff to be really friendly first and forth most.I agree that all inclusive wasnt all inculsive more like full board but to be honest i had gorgeous pancakes or omelltes for breakfast with a bit of toast and the yummest juice. lunch time the dinner was alrite but i dont remeber eating much at lunch either because i was out or to hot to eat. the beach bar food was lovly u did have to pay but it was hardly expensive. evening meal again was good but we out often went out and to the person who said the spent £300 pound on eating out either went to the most expensive place in egypt of had a very large family me n my boyfriend ate out most nights only because we are a couple who do like to eat out and we went to hard rock cafe and for 2 meals 2 starters 4 drinks cost less the £30 and when we got home we checked what we had in the cardiff hard rock and which would of cost us £60 plus. i will be going bk to egypt and i dont really care where to even if its 1 star as the hospitality from egyptions is second to none so to any who wants to book la perla just do it its great but do it bed and breakfast coz the food in namma bay is fab. One last thing the pool was fine i spent alot of time in it s it was soo hot and the enterttainment in the eving was good there was belly dancers compertitons etc. and the rooms were fine jus like rooms u would get in any other country

just returnd from the worst holiday ever i wont go on i'll just say it cost me £479 for a week in this [--] hole i had to spend £300 to eat and drink outside. the hotel bar closed at 10. the beer was coloured water, no water in the pool, food was all cooked for the russians and polish, the beach for the hotel was 2in of sand on rocks, no entertainment at all apart from the last 3 nights we had some kind of disco from 9 till 11, so if antone is thinking of going egypt i say go its a fab place but expensive but DONT stay at LA PERLA..........

Ive just returned from the worst hotel in all of Egypt , i have been to Egypt ten times and always found it a wonderful country until i went to the la Perla for Xmas and New Year i booked all inclusive what a farce that was, the bar serves you one bottle of lager between two people, you must keep hold of your glass and return to the bar with it to have it filled up again as there are not enough glasses for the guests , so if you put it down you will have to wait to get another one , the bar is only inclusive up till ten every night, yes even new years eve it closed at ten , you then had to buy the drinks, also there are not enough chairs for the guests to sit on someone has to stand up then you can sit down .!!!the manager is known to all the guests and staff as the fat controller as all he does is sit at the end of the bar smoking cigarettes and drinking whatever it is he drinks the staff are terrified of him.the rooms are totally basic my matress was all stained and to hard to sleep on i told the manager who sent me another one which was off a sun lounger, and it was put on top of the hard matress, the floor of the room was washed every day but there were dead flies swotted on the walls of our bathroom which are still stuck to the room wall as we left, the food was disgusting Cous Cous and Brockley for breakfast and like everything else it was cold, the pool was full of bacteria and dead flies ,there is no entertainment at all apart from a pool table which you have to pay for £ 3 00 an hour, i have to say that the majority of the staff are very friendly but they do not have lessons in hygeine there is a towel behind the bar that has been used every day for the two weeks that we have been there to dry the glasses on ,its filthy we complained to the rep about everything his name is Osama and yes he is a nice man but useless as a rep he offered to move us and a few other families to another hotel at a cost of £700.!!!! he then came back a couple of days later with a cheaper offer of £297 each by this time we just decided to stick it out as we had been there a week and we had been buying food outside so our money was running out this place has a lot of Russian ,Polish and Slovakian guests and Germans who dint seem to mind about the food always being cold there seems to be very few English guests and now we know why PLEASE do not go here its the worst hotel in Egypt how it is rated as three star i dont know ,i would only rate it as one star and thats me being kind because the majority of the staff are lovely the only good thing is that on the day we left the fat controller manager was filling his car up with all kinds of things as he was leaving as well. There is a perfume shop next door to this hotel and the guy who owns it hassles you every day to go to his shop to sell you something every where you go you are hasseled be warned stay here at your risk

La Perla hotel in sharm el sheik was great , thats why we have booked again to go , the people were great and couldn't do enought for you no matter what you asked they obliged.
Its clean , room service was excellent , we never had no problems at all, the bidwin tent there is a great relaxing area and there entertainment maneger was fantastic and couldnt do more to show us the best parts and things to do while in egypt and while we stayed in hotel the entertainment was great. i would recommend it to anyone.
