Due to the Volcanic Ash we ended up at the La Perla for four nights. The reception staff were most unhelpful and at times quite rude. They made NO effort to help the stranded Brits and on one occasion they made sure we got an URGENT fax late so that we wouldn't get a certain flight home!
The rooms were ok, basic but well cleaned and lovely blanket art carried out daily.
Very few sunbeds, usually all gone by 6am, as people leave towels out all night, this is against the hotels policy but they do nothing about it.
The food looks nice, tastes OK, but be warned....... the dreaded runs is popular at this hotel. I was bragging on my last day as the children and I were OK, however, 24 hours after leaving there, it hit us BAD!!!
Although my room was OK, the balcony door never locked, and alot of people did move rooms as they very not happy with the standard.
Lastly the Russians!!!! Pushy, rude, loud and think they own the place.

We have arrive back in England from La perla!!
We have been to many all inclusive holiday hotels and this one takes the biscuit. No snack bars, final drink 9.55 No free water.
It seems the whole intention of the hotel was for you to spend money!!
We have been to another hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, this was only 3 star and we never left the complex the whole holiday. At La Perla we went out for meals to the local Onions restaurant and the food was great.
the food in the hotel was repetitive, hardly any fresh fruit, no alcholic drinks in the dinning hall.
I saw a lady frog marched off a bus and the drivers licence taken from him until she payed for a fly squatter the say she had broken.
The staff work hard but are under the CCTV all the time. i felt the were in fear of the jobs.If you wish an all inclusive holiday dont go to the La perla unless you wish to pay for what in other hotels are par for the cause.

this hotel thats laughable is the pits in every way my friend and i booked for xmas and new year the food was absloute crap and the kitcken was filthy i know because i went in!!!!! the pool was full of flies the rooms were filthy as were the beds the only good thing i can say is the waiters were lovely and nothing was to much trouble for them , they work all hours for a pittence and they are treated very badly by the staff above them the all inclusive consists of a bottle of cheap lager between two persons yes you read that correct and the all inclusive drinks finishes at ten you then have to pay for the more expensive lagers this dosshouse should be downgraded to a one star and even that is generous you have been warned.

There were areas where the hotel excelled, for instance the animation team were lovely, the table tennis was a complete and utter bonus. There was a great Shesha area with throw cushions and it was very cheap so my mates and I had a lot. Now for the issues: We went all inclusive, however, to my disgust/surprise the food was not available at all times. The drinks were fine, however, they were served in plastic cups. I don’t see why they couldn’t just give us the bottle of beer. SOMETIMES THE BEER WASNT CHILLED!!! The Swimming pools were good fun and there was adequate activities available. However, the smaller pool irritated my skin (perhaps too much chlorine?) The staff were generally nice. My main complaint lies with the quality of food. It was highly erratic- the breakfasts got very samey after about four days, there are only so many omelettes a guy can take. The dinners offered a welcomed change as there was a wider variety of food choices that alternated night to night, including BBQ’s, some lovely fish, and some sort of stew. However, my friend experienced an upset stomach, but this is expected in Egypt and he was a small man so did not have such a strong stomach.
The Hotel beach was situated 5 minutes away by bus, but the bus was questionable. I felt a little unsafe, especially when travelling down hill. The beach itself was fine but I don’t know if you could call it a beach as it was more dusty than sandy. It did however offer a good snorkeling site, I saw some tuna, a lion fish (dangerous) and one with really big eyes. I think I may have seen a Marlon jumping out of the sea (one of those fish with a really long spiky nose.) There are better opportunities for snorkeling and diving at Ras Mohammed National Park, and Tiran Island. I recommend Sharks Bay for the Best snorkeling as it is quieter and offers a huge variation of Wild life, including Giant Morays, stingray’s, Manta rays. Tiran Island is best for Dolphins. Over all it was a great base for the holiday, as my mates and I did a lot of traveling around Egypt, to the pyramids and Israel. The Hotel is well situated and a ten minute taxi journey from Nama Bay, these taxi’s are great Value. Go to the water park near the hotel as it is immense. Happy Holidays.

Like it said, this Hotel is what your money is worth. When we arrive to this hotel the lobby and reception look neat and presentable and staff help us carry our luggage’s to our rooms, but unfortunately there were no lift (elevator) system only stairs as there is no lift system. We was told that we had a meeting following morning with our Holiday rep.
When met our Holiday rep our holiday rep informed us about Sham el sheikh, every day there is a bus shelter where bus takes you to the beaches and times drop of and of pick up (returning back) to hotel (for free). The beach is 7min drive from the La Parle Hotel.
Time of Pick from Hotel: 09:00, 11:00, 13:00 & 15:00
Time returning to La Parle hotel: 11:10, 13:10, 15:10 & 17:00
The holiday rep informed about places to shop, e.g. old market, thing to see in Sham el sheikh and advices you on safety issues such as not to take unlicensed mini cabs. He even informs you how much will it cost for a cab to certain places as they charge tourist double to triple prices for fares.
He will also offer you to buy excursion and trips to Cairo (Pyramids), Luxor (Valley of the Kings), Aquapark, Quad Bikes, Dolphin swims show, camel riding, Aquascopes and many more. But I advise you not to buy any excursion from the holiday rep because if you look around near the beach and shopping malls near buy you can get cheaper excursion. For e.g. to go to cairo to see the Pyramids by plane it will cost you £160 or by bus £75. You can get the same excursion by plane to cairo for £115 or by bus £35 by a excursion group called DREAM SAFARI which is near the beach.
This hotel also provides money exchange, good rate (Better then UK) but I advise you not to change your money from this hotel as they charge 5% commission. There is a money exchange place or international ATM near by. There is a large market nearby a Crocodile show centre about 10-15 min walk where you can exchange foreign currency at a good rate (commission free).
This hotel is all inclusive, buffet all you can eat and drink (non alcoholic, soft drinks, juice etc). The buffet is excellent but within time limits. Breakfast time 7:30 – 10:00, Lunch time 13:00 – 14:30 and dinner time 19:00-21:00. If you come later than that you will not be serve and they starting packing away. If you do not like an buffet no need to worry as there are some good restaurant near by including KFC, McDonald, Pizza huts etc about 5min walk from hotel.
I did not like the rooms because the furniture’s looked old and second hand. The bathroom was terrible there were lime scale all around the show area, the tiles and ceiling. The shower was awful as the speed of the show (water) was very slow and I normally have to stay three times longer as I normally do.
This hotel has got nice swimming pool, pool (snooker), table tennis table facilities, Bedouin tent, and sun beds services and other entertainment at late nights such as belly dancers, singers, dancers, disco but certain night only. They also have internet facilities which I did find it to be expensive. Here in the UK it is normally £1 for hour; at La parle it cost £3.50 per hour. I also find their phone calls are expensive as I made a local call to my airline in sham el sheikh to reconfirm my flight. The hotel, they charge me 70 L.E (Egyptian Pound) for 5 min call which is £8.75, ridicules. I found out later they charge 14 L.E (Egyptian Pound).
Souvenir – If you’re going to buy souvenir from Sham el Sheikh then I advice you to buy from the old market. As you will be able to bargain with the traders, remember always bargain in half whatever the traders quote you then when it comes to a final prize lower it my 5-10 L.E (Egyptian Pounds). If your going to take an excursion to cairo then i advice to you buy from Cairo as I find it to be cheaper in Cairo than Sham el Sheikh as Sham el sheikh is a tourist centre.
One of the things I do not like about this hotel is that you have to hand in your room keys at 12:00 midday the day of your departure even though your depart is at 18:00 or 21:00 and your transfer is 3 hours before departure. In which you have to wait in the lobby for hours unless you pay extra to stay in your room which is £10-£20 UK.
Would i ever go back to Egypt? YES
Would I use the same hotel (la parle Hotel)? NO

Hi just got back from La Perla.
Cost was superb for two weeks of outstanding sunshine,in a clean room with a great pool and staff more than happy to please.
The hotel has it's share of things we could grumble about as other reviews have stated.
We have stayed in better hotels, and have paid trebble the costs !
Quality
The Hotel provides a base, with plenty of alternative bars and food outlets close by. The food is variable with staff willing to listen and provide variations if asked.
I was glad I went, never starved, got a good tan, and met some fantastic people who work very hard to please.... because the wanted too.

This is the second time in sharm el sheikh but my first time in le perla hotel i had read reviews previously before coming and was a bit daunted.we arrived late at night very tired we had two single beds which once explained to staff that we had just got married they were more than happy to change our rooms. on waking in the morning looking around i said to my husband that did not want to stay here so we enquired at a previous hotel we had stayed in but was very expensive we decided to stay at the le perla and we had the best two weeks ever the people we met were next to none and the staff were wonderful especially dvd, siad, the entertainment was ok if they would of changed it on the second week instead of repeating the weeks before.the only downside is that the entertainment does not start till 9-15 and the all inclusive closes at 10pm so you had to buy your beer whilst wastching the entertainment.other than that just round he corner at el mercato shpping centre you can buy english beer at a pound a bottle .fill your fridge lol.the rooms were cleaned every day all the staff there could not do enough for you would definately go back.the food was basic but at the end of the day you are in egypt your not going to get pie and mash lol.the cooks tried to cater for everyone by doing pizzas, chips, burgers, jacket potatoes etc.if you like rice and pasta bake you will be fine.

DO NOT GO ALL INCLUSVIE as it's a rip off! All Incl finishes at 10.00pm and you are restricted to what times you can eat. If you want extra food from the bar you have to pay which defeats the object.
There were not enough sun lounges or seats in the pool side bar and the restaurants never had enough knives, forks etc.
Saying that the hotel is a 3* so you pay for what you get.
It's a decent enough place if you don’t expect too much.
A lot of people seem to have their holidays ruined by this but the holiday is what you make it!
On the plus side the staff are fantastic and can't do enough for you. Everyone of them went out of their way to ensure the guest enjoyed themselves.

I stayed in La perla for 11 nights this year with my sister. At first everything seemed to be fine as the guy who worked as hotel boy was very friendly and explained us how the things works. Nightmare started only in the morning. In the restaurant there was not enough cutlry everybody was getting only one napkin, unless you took another from the table next to yours. Glass weren't clean, later we had to use plastic cups. After few days you experience diarrhoea there, after every single meal at it last unitl the ned of you stay( so better take tablets if u want to do some excurisons). we talked to egyptian people employed in shops and beach about the hotel and our disappointment. Apparently, it was nothing new to them, advice is 'next time you go to sharm stay in 5 star hotel', or 4 star but not inn la perla. Moreover, now hotel has got 4 stars I wouldnt assign it a single one. British woman in the reception seems fibne at first but later u see that business is about money and when we bought a tour not from our rep she refused us to make the breakfast boxes(tehy get commision from representative).
Rest of the people very friendly. If you want to do some excusrions book it with sisi travel which is next to crocodile show, (they speak italian, russina, english) or wielkopolska for polish tourists.(sisi and wielkopolska share same office). dont buy trip from your rep as u end up spending double money. We didnt know that at first and bought a jeep safari for £35 whcih costs around $30 in wielkopolska or sisi travel.
However, we enjoyed our stay and pacha disco. we may go back there but not stasy in La perla definitely.
Maria

For me...the best thing about this hotel was without doubt some fab members of staff!!
The Animation team of Kal,Sasha and Lubah (sorry spelling!?) were totally fantastic!! And as a young couple out to have some fun....their method of "dragging" you up...even when sometimes you didnt want to take part in the activities was fab!! My poor boyfriend was subjected to being dressed as a woman on the first night and taking part in belly dancing lessons...and as much as he protested...deep down he loved it all! great memories and even better photos!!
The team really look after you and if you wish to do so will take you out to places such as hardrock or Pasha for around £200 Eqyptian...which folks...think about it...what a bargain concidering you pay half that to just get in these places half the time anyways!
Also a special mention to "DVD" a member of the pool bar staff...who once you get him talking will do anything for you. Lovely guy!
The food was very basic and as someone who is very fussy there wasnt much to tempt my fancy on any given day...
Sometimes you might be luckey...and for the most part the dessert is great....but thats not really enough to get you by without a rumbley tummy!! (there is a great sports bar just down the road though that do food with drink for a total of a fiver...bargain!)
The rooms were ok...a decent size. The bathroom we had looked a little sketchy with wires hanging from one of the fans... but we had no problems with clenliness for the most part and our particular cleaner was a very nice happy guy who would usually leave us some form of bed decoration! lol
All in all....we absolutley loved our holiday and stay at La Perla...but as i said...a lot of this is down to some of the awesome people we met along the way.
Thanks Kal,Sacha and Lubah, you were totally fantastic!
