I totally agree with Mr Sykes review below. Previous negative reviews are a quite unfair as both me and my boyfriend found the hotel and room to be extremely clean at all times plus our room was large, had good facilities and AC, it was excellent value for what we paid. The food and drinks in the hotel were adequate and we must have got our money back in our drinks alone so no complaints on that front at all. Just like Mr Sykes said the standard of food is quite average overall in Sharm El Shiekh. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful too - always treated you warmly and courteously, they certainly like a practical joke or two. The pools were large and clean and sun beds were plentiful so it was a really nice place to chill if you didn't fancy catching the bus to the beach, there seemed to be a really relaxed vibe around the more adult pool - there was another pool however this was more geared up for children and families.
If you fancy leaving the hotel premises then Naama Bay is only a short, pleasant walk away (at night of course as would be far too hot in the day) but the drinks in the bars here be very expensive indeed so if you are looking for a nice chilled place to go then head to 'Brendas Bar' which is only a few doors down from the hotel. It's ran by a genuinely nice gentleman called Mohammed and his prices are very reasonable compared to others.
One very important thing to note is that there is a bit of an issue with stomach problems. It's not a Sharm Holiday Resort problem but more an Egypt problem I think. Don't bother wasting your time taking medicines from home as they simply won't work, it'll be a huge waste of money. The moment you feel poorly you should head straight to the hotel pharmacy and your worries will be over in no time at all. Make sure you barter on the price though.
Overall for a cheapie week in the sun we had a really nice time and felt happy that we got good value for our money.

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from this hotel and find a lot of the reviews unfair.
The room was big with air conditioning, a fridge and cleaned everyday. The only complaint was that we didn't have a plug for the bath but if that is going to ruin your holiday you have problems.
All the drinks were help yourself so no queuing at the bar.
The hotel does have its not so good points
1) The food- plenty of choice but really poor quality, but when we ate out it wasn't much better. I think this is an Egyptian problem
2) The massage man- asks you everyday if you would like a massage. Just say no and dont entertain him.
Overall we only payed £90 each for this hotel and we think this was excellent value for money because we probaby had that in drinks.
If you are spending over £250 than i can understabd why wou wouldn't be overly impressed but you get what you pay for.

I dont normally write reviews but after booking this holiday before reading the reviews and now returning from it my friend and I decided we would complete one. Reading the reviews prior to going on our hol but after we had booked it we didnt know what to expect as the reviews were one extreme to the other. However we went with an open mind with the hope of spending a week in the sunshine chilling and enjoying the sunshine. Both being female (and reading the previous review) we did not find the Egyptian men to be sleazy or a problem having both been to Turkey we were a bit dubious about how the men would be but we didnt find them a problem. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful although on occassions a language barrier caused a problem and the way certain English guests spoke/behavied to the staff made us feel ashamed to be british! Unfortunately this happened on several occassions where british guests got frustrated because the Egyptian staff didnt speak/understand them they seemed to forget that we were in their country!! We found the food to be good there was alot of selection always including pasta dishes, chicken dishes, fish dishes and other meats. When inside the restaurant drinks were served in glasses however outside and around the pool they were served in plastic cups (which I note some people have made reference to in a negative way) this is a health and safety issue and glass is not used around the pool. It doesnt make the drink taste any different!! The pools were always loverly and clean and there was always a sunbed available to use. Yes there were a variety of guests when we were there, English, polish and Egyptian and the most annoying were the English!! The entertainment was not my cup of tea as it is family oriantated and we were two single girls just out to chill and get away from the rat race. Naam bay was a 5 min walk away and had bars and restaurants. Its not your Ibiza as most places were closed by 3am but that wasnt the sort of holiday we had choosen. For what we paid we were more than happy with the hotel, food and service.

well what can i say apart from glad to be back home. atleast here im not being bothered by people to have massages or buy an english paper for 4quid..The food at the hotel was fine and not an issue plenty of choice etc... but the hotel itself wasnt upto much, the entertaintment was a joke, the room was dirty and looked out onto a building site to which we were woken up at 5 every morning by the builders. i thought sharrm it self was a total rip off all the egyptions want to do is rip you off and harrass you. reading some of the reviews most of the good ones was from single women who obviously like the attention they get from the creepy egyption guys who do nothing more than harrass and look women up and down..come on girls they just want to get a psssport to england...but ladies whatever rocks your boat...my advice to anyone wanting a relaxed and chilled out holiday not to go to sharm..the hotel and naama bay or anywere for that matter, they dont cater for us brits, they just want our money.....sharm el crap is just one big building site and maybe i might go back in 10 years time when theyve finished building it,the egyption guys show some respect and last but not least they start catering for us brits .........................

We went to this hotel recently and had a fantastic time, I travelled with my fiance, 4 other adults and two 3yr old children. The people are so friendly and love the english. We were all inclusive and struggled to spend money, so relaxed by having massages. We bought paintings from the shop upstairs within the hotel and had drinks with the famous 'Mr No Problem' always there to offer you a drink and chat in his shop. We were 5 minutes from Naama Bay and wasn't over harrssed. We were polite to them and they were pleasant back. Our main pub we visited outside the hotel was 'The First Floor' attached to the bay view hotel literally 2 mins walk, the staff were fantastic and loved entertaining the kids, they showed every football match my fiance requested as he's football mad. The only problem were the Russians at meal times, the pushed in and never returned a smile and would never move aside for you, but we just laughed it off and let them get on with it. The rooms were basic but clean and well kept, clean sheets every day, mini fridge, air con. Only downfall in the room was the shower didn't have much power behind it so took a little longer to rinse your hair. But it wasn't a major obstacle and no need to cause a fuss. We got quite bored of the food by the 2nd week and ventured to Macdonalds and KFC (only 10-15 mins by foot) but the food generally was fine we always had something to eat. We all got a bit of poly tummy, but nothing that laid us up, all these people that say they had to stay in their rooms for days really must of felt sorry for themselves all was needed was a toilet close by and we were fine, it was more from the change in diet and climate as it was in the 40's most days and cetainly didn't get food poisoning and it never stopped us doing anything all holiday.
Whilst we were there 2 water slides were built in the top pool and were a lot of fun we only got 2 days use from them as they put them up through the night which took about a week. We travelled by bus to the beach which was fine, only problem was we were pushed out of the way by the Russians again trying to get on the bus back but the man who stands at the top made sure another bus came back for us and made sure we were first on. Overall if you are polite and pleasant to them they all in in return. The was no pervy men like the other reviews say, I'm blonde and so is my friend and neither of encountered anything out of the ordinary. The massage boys will offer you a free 10 mins to get you interested but at the end of the day they are trying to make a living. We are all definately returning to same hotel in Oct and 1 member from our party is making arrangements to work there. Fantastic time, weather people the lot. Don't listen to all the moaners on here they obviously have high expectations and too much time on their hands to moan about trivial things. Enjoy!!

dont go!if you value your health please dont go anywhere near this hotel, also if you wish to feel you are visiting egypt and not moscow or warsaw avoid this hotel.the russians are so rude and unfriendly and it seems the whole hotel complex is catering solely for the soviat visitors,i would strongly advise all british people to avoid this hotel.i was there for a week from april 24 to may 2 08 and was sick from the food for 3 days and i wasnt alone!

I strongly advise anyone thinking of staying in this hotel to reconsider; The lady we booked it through actually recommended us against it but we went for the cheap option because we dont consider ourselves fussy people and it was a big mistake! We ended up paying out double on food and alcohol because it was so dire in the hotel. We could have gone to a 5* hotel in mexico for what we ended up spending! Where do i begin...
. The hotel staff were rude and unhelpful after we refused to give them the £15 tip they asked for for giving us the "best room in the hotel" (which was adaquate)
. The pool bar snacks consisted of about 3 dryed up sausages in foil and some buns-
totally inedible. Cocktail tasted like mouthwash!!! No wine.
. The breakfast tables were filthy dirty
. Continual harrassment around the pool with people trying to sell massages and very pervy men
. Light switch blew up when we tried to switch the light and we waited around 20 mins in the dark for someone to come and fix it and didn't even get an apology
.Beach was filthy, music so loud that even an ipod wouldn't drown it out! we ended up having to pay to use another beach
. With all this going on the rep was nowhere to be seen!
If you want a nice, relaxing holiday this is the last place you should go. Quite frankly i'm relived to be back home!!!

We stayed for a week in March 2008. Booked before seeing reviews on this and several sites and paid over £1k so was worried about what we had let ourselves in for. Having been i have to say it really does depend on your attitude to ther holiday, if you go there looking for things to moan about then you wont enjoy your holiday. On arrival i was dissappointed witht eh quality of the bathroom as the tiling had obviously been replaced or grouted to very poor standards and much of the finish around the mirror doors etc was well worn. Having said that the rest of the rom was OK. This place is definatley not 4 star in comparison to some european hotels ive been to (limited toiletries provided but you get towels, soap and shower cap). Thre are 2 pools both of decent size and both are actually now heated. Only problem is if your a poolside type of person you have to get up pretty early to bag loungers as they are very limited. The rooms are cleaned evry day and whilst things may look worn the cleaning staff do ensure things are clean. Pillows are too thick and hard though (i ended up sleeping with my neck at a rightangle for the first night or two!). Room size is OK but the balcony was small. Strangly we were only bitten by mozzies on the 1st night. Generally the staff are very helpful even thogh speakign or understadning english was a challange to some (but their english is definatley better than my non existant arabic!). The food is OK but as they are catering for Italian, Russian and English they tend to have a strange combination of dishes and there is a lot of repetition. Also there is only one restaurant (the "seafood restaurant" is not part of all inclusive and we didnt see a singe person eat in there for the duration of our stay). The beach a bus ride away and if youre going for snorkeling both Naama and Hadaba are good although Hadaba is less overrun by tourists so the corel isnt as damaged as in Naama Bay. In all not a disaster of a holiday liek some of the other reviews, it boils down to whether you are going just for poolside holiday, all inclusive or getting about. If goign for poolside then its not too bad (as long as you bag the loungers before others), all inclusive-id say you woudl probably get better elsewhere (the spirits are pretty rough and taste like theyve just taken some ethanol and added colour or flavouring to get Gin, Whiskey, Rum or Brandy) its actually pretty cheap to eat out so with hindsight it would be better to find a cheap deal on accommodation only and sort yourself out regarding food, the charges (if your not all inclusive) for separate meals in the hotel is actually quite cheap-buffet breakfast or lunch is about 3-4 english pounds whilst dinner is about a fiver but youd be better going out for dinner and paying a little more (dinner in naama bay will be around 15-20 pounds for 2 including drinks) , if your going for a holiday to get about and see the place then its not too bad as youre a 10 min walk away from the noise of the centre of naama bay and excursions are available through the reps onsite (although Spring/fleetway did not have a rep at the hotel). They have craftily disguised the fact that they dont have a beach onsite as when booking through lastminute i ticked beach and spa resort and this one came up. All inclusive drinks are not included at either beach that the free bus goes to and the quiter beach (Hadaba) only goes twice a day (one around 10am and the other around 14:45) but cabs are cheap (fix a proce before getting in)-pay no more than 25-30 egyption pounds. This was the 1st time we visited Sharm El Sheikh and we will definatley be going back as there is so much to see (excursions to Cairo, Luxor, diving etc) possibly as part of a holiday that spends 3-4 days in the main cities rather than staying in one place but unlikely to be Sharm Holiday Resort unless we get a cheap deal (less than 200-300 english pounds for accommodation only). Oh and if you plan to take lots of pictures of the fish i recommend spending a little extra on a digital underwater camera with rechargable batts (plus 1 spare) and spare 1-2gig memory cards as the disposable underwater cams got used up in an hour! The fish there are excellent-snorkeling is better than diving as the light is much better near the surface and you can get much beter pics. Oh and shops are open till at least 1am so ladies shop till you drop and haggle for everything (go for at least one quearter of the initial asking price!).

This is the 8th visit to egypt in the last 12months and 2nd visit to this hotel, the Manager is megga and cant do enough for you, espec the british, they even did a lamb roast as we said we was missing a carvery.. the front end staff are great the food is plentyfull and the whole hotel is clean to perfection and the cleaners cant do enough for you. This time we went with a party of 5, one of us being disabled and they couldnt do enough for Ann.
People who can say that it was not up to there standards really need to remember that they are in fact in a foreign county, so u wont get bacon and eggs, however a 2min walk away from the hotel on abdulla st u can find Brenda's cafe and she comes from england and does do bacon and eggs and beautifull milk shakes, minimal money. So brits if u find u cant live without a little bacon and eggs u now have a place to go, support brits abroad.
I can honestly say that my time and all my friends time at sharm holiday was a pleasure
And i will be going back 6 of us in sept for a further 2 weeks to the same hotel.
Please please please if u have any problem with the food or u room please tell the front end staff and they will sort it for u with immediate effect, they cant sort it if u dont tell them untill u leaving or untill u come home and write a review.
Have a megga time and im sure u will go bk
One last word the best shops in namma bay are just as u walk down the main rd past the royal plaza hotel u come past avis and the next set of shops down some steps are real value for money.....Hany is the guy who runs them, tell them u from england and u was told to come here by wendy and i promise u will be treated well... he is a true gentleman. )

Having just returned from the Sharm Holiday Resort Hotel, I can only assume I stayed in a different one to the one with all the poor reviews and low scores.
I travelled with 2 other ladies of a certain age (40+) and can only say that we had the truly relaxing week we intended. Yes the hotel needed a bit of an upgrade, but then we wouldn't have paid the package price we did. The shower, fridge & air-conditioning all functioned perfectly. The food was great (I put on 5lb in a week), with plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch & dinner, and we never found it an issue to drink out of paper cups.
All the staff were very friendly, helpful & courteous. On arrival one of our rooms smelled very strongly of tobacco smoke, such that my room-mate and I felt like we had smoked them ourselves. The cleaner changed all our bedding, sprayed everywhere with air freshener and brought us fresh flowers to eliminate the smell - he did this every day and every time we saw him he asked us if our room was OK.
We stayed round either pool most of the time. One day we had an aromatherapy massage, which is to be recommended. By the end of the week I couldn't even be bothered to read a book as it was too much effort to turn the page. We took a boat trip through our rep to Ras Mohamed, and that was an excellent day out. The crew on our boat were very professional with their approach to health & safety, provided good instructions for the snorkelling sessions and laid on a superb lunch.
We spent one evening in Naama Bay, which was fine if you like that sort of thing, but we were happy to stay by the hotel.
The only criticism I have and the reason I haven't given top marks for the holiday was I felt that the entertainment in the hotel was a bit lacking. An hour's exercise or dance class or a bit of football or volleyball doesn't do it for me. The Egyptian dancers on a couple of evenings were fine, but it needed something else to beef it up. However I would lay the blame for that on the animation team and not the hotel. It seems a shame that when all the rest of the hotel staff are working hard and for extremely long hours, that the animation team appeared to get away with so little.

Do not be put off by others comments. I stayed here for 1week and found that the hotel staff were friendly, lots of food at meal times (egyptian style-fried fish, salad, cheese, bread) plenty of deserts and spaghetti almost every lunch and tea time.
Gorgeous beach (Down a cliff, lots of steps involved, but safe wooden ones)which you can be driven to free of charge by hotel bus-would recommend for watching fish, walking down pier. Beach is very small though so not reccomended for tanning sessions or playing games like beach cricket etc. Not all inclusive on beach.
Towels are provided from the hotel for beach&pools. Cups around the pools are coca cola cardboard cups but it's not a problem.
I would reccomend the beach at Namma bay for children due to access and space.
Hotel rooms aren't very big, but have enough space in them for the week. On first appearences our bathroom looked unclean, but it was only because it is slightly dated and the grout in the tiles had gone a bit borwn.
Points to consider... All of the rooms have very low pressure showers, so you don't often get a hot shower as the water will only trickle out. (bath's are not usable due to health & safety)
Last day you only get all inclusive drinks & food up until 12midday. This was dissapointing.
Location is good - 5minutes into Namma bay walking, taxi not needed.
Around 15minutes from the airport, you can pay about £10 english pounds for a taxi each way.
Wine is not included in All Inclusive, however there is one local lager on tap, coke, sprite, fanta, rum, brandy, vodka, gin (all local spirits) and tea and coffee.
Facilities are good, squash court (payable locally), sauna, gym, voleyball, darts, ping pong, tennis, football. Massages are also payable locally.
Fridge in room and T.v has two english channels, one for films and one for light comedy.

This hotel is just not suitable for British people. The advert from Fast Track Holidays states the hotel has its own private beach but what it doesn't say is that the beach is a 10 mintue walk away at the other end of Naama Bay. All inclusive doesn't include red/white wine or fresh orange juice and the beach isn't all inlcusive, you have to pay for food and drinks.
The rooms are reasonable the pool area is reasonable but the dinning room has the appearance of an underground car park. The food is totally uninviting and one night, had beef burgers as it's main course!!! The bar area has no atmoshere and has the appearance of a leisure centre. All in all not a good experience and certainly not a hotel to be recommended.

Avoid this place like the plague! After a wonderful week on Thomson Celebration this chaotic, filthy place was a disaster! The food was inedible, being poor quality, cheap mass catering of the lowest standard. The 'dining room' that resembled a deck of a multi-storey car park. After that we were both struck down with Pharohs Revenge, and reception doled out diahorrea tablets like smarties to anyone who could stand at the counter long enough to seek help!
Our room had poor lighting, filthy brown tap water, drain smells and a fridge that ran all the time even after I unplugged it and defrosted it myself. The sheets were slimy and grey and the towels hard and worn out.
The staff were either bewildered or over friendly or downright hostile. What was supposed to be a Christmas treat was a disaster. After 3 meals, we ate out all the time, when not confined to our 'cell' by the runs! Spaghetti as a 'treat' on Christmas Eve? No way, thank god we dined elsewhere.
All inclusive? - No way. The advertised room rate (back of our door) was 50 Egyptian pounds per night, with 50% OFF for Egyptians! That's a fiver a night! Not four star standard in any country - more like a Beirut prison. Avoid at all costs or regret!
Thomson MUST NEVER allow this hovel to be linked with their cruise ship, and now Fast Track are part of Virgin. Richard - I hope you can demolish this place!
