Comments:  I went to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt in July 07 and stayed at the Sharm Holiday Resort. The resort was fantastic, I had read some very mixed reviews before I went but chose to keep an open mind and was subsequently very impressed.

The room had air conditioning, which is a necessity not a luxury in the Egyptian climate! The room also had a fridge which was handy for keeping bottles of cold water on tap. Had a television to keep us amused and a hairdryer, which is very handy for the ladies as I didn't have to take one with me!

The room was en suite with a bath and shower, which I thought was great as I don't always have the luxury of a bath when away.

The hotel had two pools, both with bars. The all inclusive drinks were fine for me, didn't feel like drinking much alcohol in the heat and you could have as much juice, water and tea and coffee as you like. The meals were fine even for me, and I am very fussy! There were many different nationalities there, so they tried to cater for all, making a large enough selection to choose from.

A tip for anyone going who hasn't been before, that I wish I knew before I went, is to be polite but firm with the locals who try to drag you into their shops. They will say anything to get you in, and me being a bit soft I got badgered into buying things a couple of times just to get away! But by the end of the holiday, I just ignored them and kept on walking when they tried to drag me in!

Would recommend it, if you are going you will love it! It is a must for scuba divers as well as the diving was amazing!

Comments:  Just come back from a week at the Sharm holiday resort and had a good time.

The hotel is 5mins from Naama bay which is a great town, lots of fab and cheap restaurants and lovely bars - please try the Panoramic which has a stage overlooking the town, they have entertainment that changes every 5/10 mins and is kept authentic with dancers, fire eaters etc and drinks are cheap!

The locals are lovely and do not hassle you too much, just politely say no thank you and you will be left alone.

We did a snorkelling trip to Ras Mohammed which is a must for anyone, the corals and fish were like being in the finding Nemo film-absolutely gorgeous and I have already booked for 2weeks in September!!

Going back to the hotel, rooms are spacious and spotless as is the pool and grounds, the staff work so hard in unbelievable heat.

The only downsides to this hotel is the all inc menu, not many drinks to chose from and even at night they still serve in plastic cola cups. Ice creams, fruit juice, and milk shakes are not free either. Pain if you have kids.

The snack bar during the day is not free either so you are stuck for being in the hotel at certain time if you do want to eat there; however, food is cheap enough in and around the resort.

The food in the dining area is lovely with lots to chose from, amazing deserts!

Still I found the brits letting the side down with their small mindedness and arrogance. They complain about everything when really, food wise there is nothing to moan about, wake up and taste another culture.

If all they want is English breakfasts, pizza and chips then go to benidorm, Egypt would be better off without these people. The staff listened and gave them burger and chips one day and they still complained because the cheese wasn’t in slices like you get at Tesco! How pathetic!

At times I felt ashamed to be English, the impression the Egyptians must have of us is a gang of uncultured, fat slobs who want to drink all day then moan when they feel ill next day. They were truly an embarrassment so please if you’re like that, don’t go, and spoil it for the rest of us who can open our eyes and have variety-keep away!

If you’re like me, you will go to Sharm, see different things, smoke a shisha pipe, and most importantly have fun.

Comments:  This hotel is really good, after reading reviews on here, i was very wary of going, but very surprised, the hotel was gorgeous, you couldn't get more friendly staff, the waiters were brill, especially in the restaurant, they wouldn't even let me carry my own plate,

The pools were good, with very friendly pool boys who couldn't do enough for you.

The animation team were the best part of the holiday, Medo is fantastic also Marix and not forgetting Nico, although there was one member who had a face liked a smacked backside most of the time, they did their best to entertain everyone although there were many different nationality's. They played water polo darts, belly dancing amongst others.

Naama bay was very close 5 minutes walk from the back of the hotel, with great night life with a foam party at Pachas amongst other many local bars.

I would not hesitate to go back to Sharm holiday resort, just not in July as it the temperature was 140 most days.

Comments:  Just returned from my stay at Sharm Holiday Resort and I had an amazing time. I was a bit worried before going, as most of the reviews were negative. My two year old daughter had a wonderful time, she really enjoyed the kiddies disco and loved the pool.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful and would do anything to make your stay enjoyable. I stayed all inclusive and the choice of food was great, at each meal was different and they had a lot of local food and cakes, which were yummy!

Namma Bay beach was a little small and the staff there were a little rude but once you go into the water and see the beautiful fishes, you soon forget about them. The other beach that the hotel have, is beautiful! It's about 15 mins by shuttle bus but is breath taking, the coral reef was amazing, so my advice would be forget Namma beach and stick to the other one( I've forgotten it's name)

I would definitely go back, as I had such a good time!!!!!!!!

Comments:  Me and three friends did one week all inc at Sharm Holiday Resort! BEST TIME EVER!

The hotel was lovely! very clean and well maintained! Two large pools! we found one pool was mainly english people... fantastic if you are willing to socialise and make friends! The rooms were always immaculate and cleaned daily! The hotel staff were friendly and would take on board any requests. Our AC was fantastic, but I would advise you to keep all windows/doors/curtains closed when you are out during the day time as the AC only works whilst you are in the room. Our fridge wasn't amazing, but it did the job however bottled water isn't provided. Its so cheap to buy that it wasn't really worth mentioning!

The food was lovely, none of us 4 are particularly fussy eaters! We was willing to try something new... and we loved it! There was always so much food and variety! depending on how long the food has been out depends on how hot it is! Food was always cooked well, apart from a dodgy omelette I ate! Breakfast was good, better some days than others! However lunch and dinner was fantastic... Snacks were available during the day, but we ate most meals so wasn't really hungry!

As always when you are abroad, the alcohol measures are larger than large ;)
We couldn't of asked for much more... the bar staff were fantastic! such a good laugh.

Being under 25, we wanted nothing more than to go out at night... clubs were expensive depending on how you brought your tickets. But worth it... Sharm isn't a clubbing holiday, but caters for all!

The location of the hotel was fantastic... 2 min walk from town/bars/restaurants/shops! We ate out a few times... veryyy cheap, good quality, fantastic service! We got a taxi to the market which was fantastic for presents, cigarettes and souvenirs!

The people of Sharm are friendly... In no way harmful! although they love english people ;) BEWARE...they are lovely though.

So ignore the bad reviews and be prepared for lots of sun, sea, and alcohol!
Have fun...We sure did ;)

Comments:  Me and my partner arrived late at night and were surprised to find that we were stopping at the Sharm Holiday Resort, (we booked for the Sharm Cliff).

We voiced our concerns to the reception staff that looked at us blankly and said 'speak to your rep in the morning.' We were left waiting in the lobby for 40 mins after getting off the coach from the airport, dying of thirst, we asked for a drink and were told that all the bars had now closed and we couldn’t get a drink until the morning!

After 40 mins they finally found us a key for a room.

The room was hideous, the smallest, grottiest thing you could ever have the misfortune of going in. Like a prison cell. It was down a dark alleyway right on the end and the light outside didn’t work so we couldn’t see to get the key in the door. Inside, two of the light bulbs didn’t work so we had to wash in darkness. Truly VILE!

We tried to ring reception from the room but nobody answered the phone. We gave up and walked the long trek back to reception to ask for another room, as we were not happy. The reception staff were most unpleasant and said that nothing could be done until the morning.

In the morning we spoke to reception again and told them that we have not booked at the hotel and we wanted to be moved to the Sharm cliff where we had booked. The staff made us feel very uncomfortable by not even looking at us when we were speaking to them and then proceeding to chat away in their own language amongst themselves.

They told us it was not possible to be moved as the Sharm Cliff was full and that we was better off staying here as it was the better hotel! (Dread to think what the Sharm Cliff was like then!)

After demanding to see the manager, they agreed to move us to a bigger room with a double bed (luxury) The second room was nothing to write home about either, mould and mildew abundant in the bathroom but at least enough room to fully open the suitcase.

After a day of wondering about this poor excuse for a hotel, we decided that the less time spent here the better. The all inclusive is a complete waste of time! Who wants to drink spirits that normally at home you would use to light the barbeque?

We ate in the restaurant once, after this experience my partner was violently ill and spent the next 2 days on the toilet with his head in a bucket! Never again.

If you are reading this before you have booked you holiday then do not go to this hotel!

Comments:  After reading the reviews on this hotel before going we were very apprehensive about going to this resort. However, I must say that we had a wonderful time here.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the waiters in the restaurant and bar areas. There was activities in the evening for kids and then a show every night at 9.30, this was varied but could have been a little more exciting but on the whole it was fun and enjoyable.

The entertainment staff were fab, they had to cater for many nationalities mainly Russians, Italians, Germans and the brits and spoke all these languages.

The standard of the rooms are of a good and clean, the beds were changed and made every day, with nice white crisp cotton sheets, the towels in the bathroom were changed daily if you wanted, you just left them on the floor and they were replaced with white ones. Please note no baths, only showers in the rooms.

The Air conditioning was a god send particularly when temperatures were at 35c at nights. There is a fridge in each room which again was great for storing bottled water and other drinks. We had a lovely pool view from the balcony which was nice to sit out on in the early hours of the mornings.

The laundry service was excellent and very inexpensive, and room service was also very good.

The hotel had two pools a large one and a smaller one, we stuck to the smaller pool as it was nearer to our room and heated, the temperature was 29c in the water and very very pleasant.

I was surprised at the excellent standard of the food being catered for so many nationalities.

I consider myself choosey with food, but I and the other members of my party did not find that there was limited choice of food on offer, there was many selections available (Fish, Lamb, chicken, beef, salads, pasta, and many more).

The deserts were very varied and of a high standard. The first couple of days were would be having 3 - 4 deserts as they were so tempting. There was only one occasion that the food was warm and not hot, we never had a cold meal there.

The only thing that I would advise is not to have the soft drinks from the soda dispensers as this is fed from their own water supply and in my opinion caused some guests to have an upset stomach, but if you ask at any bar you can have diet coke from the bottle (Free of charge.).

Naama bay is very close there is a shuttle bus (to the beach also) but we walked as it was so near and pleasant to walk and meet the locals, beware of the locals asking you to sign there guest books in their shops as this is a ploy for them to sell you something, this can get tiring after a while but if you just say no thanks and keep walking this is not a problem.

The rep for You Travel was again was excellent, one of the few times I have holidayed and seen the rep after the welcome day, he actually was in the restaurant most days eating his lunch, says a lot about the standard of the food !!

So to summarise, I for one have travelled for many years to many varied locations, it is my second time in Egypt, I would not hesitate to return to the Sharm Holiday Resort again as I found it offered excellent value for money.

However if you are expecting the Ritz you have to pay Ritz prices for your holiday.

Well done to the Sharm Holiday Resort keep up the good work, we will definitely return soon!

Comments:  It was our honeymoon - the only consolation is that all our future holidays will be an improvement on this because it simply couldn't be any worse. I give it a "2" simply because it was 'accommodation' as opposed to nothing and you could have coke (although I had a suspicion they were recycling plastic glasses) and omlette/pancakes on all inclusive. I would say anything else was inedible, and I am a seasoned traveller. The food was really-really bad. Beach is by bus, every half an hour, though you could walk - would take you about 20 minutes. Places by the pool get 'reserved' with towels ridiculously early in the morning. Entertainment - pretty pour. Rooms could be worse I suppose - they are livable, although water seemed rusty and the decor is by no means modern or 4 star. Sheets and towels were changed every day - this must be the only solid positive thing. All in all, if there's any other options - stay away, unless it's so dirt cheap that you are prepared to see it as a hostel and eat and do all your entertainment outside.

Comments:  I have just come back from this hotel and glad to have some where to write this review. I think that the management and staff need to be trained or updated on health and safety and food hygiene as there were a number of people in this hotel who had bad tummy's one of them being in my party.

As I observed that the temperature of the food was cold and was only kept warm by the staff filling the bain marie's with water at the start of the meal times .Also I have never been to an all inclusive that did not include bottled water or local wine, As I did not drink spirits thank god, that looked and tasted like petrol I had no choice but to have soft drinks or coffee.

Now that to me is not an all inclusive holiday. As the water was not in bottles I was unsure of the whereabouts. The choice of food was mainly catered for the vast numbers of Italians and by the end of the week we were finding it difficult to find anything that was not duplicated.

On the good side the staff were nice and worked hard, our rooms were cleaned every day and the shower was working with hot water, but finding a sun bed in the morning was a nightmare, as we could not work out how all the beds had towels on them at 6.30 in the morning, on our last day we discovered that if you paid the towel man a bung you were certain to have a sun bed. You even had to pay for an ice cream.

Comments:  After reading reviews before going on holiday to this hotel I was a bit apprehensive - I certainly agree comments about the food it was Luke warm most of the time and by the end of the week we were having difficulty in choosing something that we had not already eaten earlier on in the week.

The selection was poor catering more for the majority of Italians who stay in this hotel. For an all inclusive deal local wine was not part of the basis (unusual) - this is also the first time on an all inclusive holiday that we have been asked to pay for bottled water - you could drink it from the water machine but usually abroad you are advised to drink bottled water - defeats purpose of all inclusive.

No complaints about the rooms which were cleaned every day and the staff was very helpful - however if you want a sun bed beside the pool you have to get up around 6am but we then discovered if you tipped the guy who gave out the towels he would put the towels on beds and keep them for you - unfortunately we did not find this out until our last day!

Overall after staying at other all inclusive resorts in Egypt this would not be my first choice of accommodation for future holidays - although the location of hotel was central.

Comments:  I hope you read this before you book your All Inclusive holiday. This hotel claims to be 4 star All Inclusive, unfortunately our experience was rather less than this.

The hotel is in need of refurbishment and the bathrooms need a lot of attention, as do the kitchen staff and management. Our bathroom in particular, when taking a shower the water would not keep constant temperature meaning you either had a cold shower or were scalded with boiling water, bad enough for us adults but imagine having a child in there!

The food was always cold and all 4 in our party had upset tummies from day 2, we tried complaining but all we were greeted with was "what do you expect on a cheap holiday” well I'm afraid I still expect good standards especially in a 4 star hotel. The management need to go on an organisational skills course as they clearly have non, eg where else would you find the toaster on one side of the dining room and the bread on another, where else would you find a new tray of vegetables brought out to serve which were cold, only in the Sharm Holiday Hotel.

All inclusive to us means, wine, cocktails, ice cream, pizza's etc unfortunately all this you had to pay for and prices were all in dollars, only local lager, pumped soft drinks which were connected to the mains water, which also in itself is against all the rules, as you are told not to drink the water under any circumstances, and water, was inclusive.

The towels in the bathrooms leave a lot to be desired, with either holes in them or so grey and thin you wouldn't use them at home as floor cloths.

If you are a family then please chose another hotel, as there is absolutely nothing to do other than the pool and a small play area for children not even have an ice cream.

The staff were very hard working and were always pleasant.

All in all this holiday experience was more like a scene from Fawlty Towers than the break from it all relaxing time we had hoped for..............

Comments:  I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel, especially after reading the reviews.

I had two double rooms which were very spacious and the housekeeping was very good.

I could not fault the staff they were very helpful and friendly.

The food was quite good considering they are catering for a variety of nationalities.

Both pools were clean and Naama Bay was just a short walk.

However, I felt the hotel itself could do with some refurbishment and we were disappointed that all inclusive did not include ice creams, cocktails or wine.

Also the sun beds were in need of some first aid treatment, but that did not spoil the holiday. We met some nice people and had a good time.

Comments:  I was very worried about staying at this hotel after reading the reviews on this & other sites.

We had an amazing time. The Hotel is very clean, the food is excellent, the locality is very good and the staff were great.

Neither of us suffered from an upset tummy, but we made sure we drank water through the day, not alcohol.

I would suggest that going mad with free alcohol would be enough to give anyone an upset tummy.

There was nothing wrong with being all inclusive at all, we found no restrictions. It didn't bother us drinking out of a plastic cup, the two outdoor bars are great and you can get served in one of the indoor bars, but who would want to in that weather?

I would recommend the hotel and will go back again anytime!

Comments:  I don't understand the reviews this hotel has got... either the people who have travelled are absent from their senses or the hotel has had a totally astonishing revamp.

Whichever it is, we had a fantastic holiday as did the myriad other Brits that we met at the resort.

The rooms and areas were clean and tidy, the food was gorgeous though limited and the facilities were really outstanding.

You're just over five minutes from Naama bay where you can enjoy all that Egypt has to offer.

The only downside is that the private beach is further away than anticipated which, believe me, and is no real downside when you actually get there.

Go to the Sharm Holiday Resort. Fantastic!

Comments:  This was the worst holiday I have ever been on.

The food was really poor standard, always cold. The two bars that you were allowed to use were both outside. The drinks were served in plastic cups, the service was very slow.

There was nothing for the children to do, unless you wanted to pay for it all the facilities the hotel had to offer, came with extra charges even on an all-inclusive package. They don’t serve wine with your meal unless you pay for it.

I went to speak to the hotel manager several times during my stay and he was no help at all. He didn’t seem to have much time for the English visitors because I had complained several times.

The staff made our stay in the hotel very uncomfortable. They never cleaned our room and they always kept us waiting for drinks at the bar. They were very unpleasant towards us.

All in all this is not a very nice hotel to stay in, I would not recommend it. The heated pool was never heated.
