This is my second time coming to the ficus now i ame in june it was brilliant, the food was great the staff were poliet and the entertainers were outstandingly amazing.
The only problem this time was the food it was awful, all it was is just chicken and pork fryed everyday now to me that isnt right there should be a variaty which there was when i came my first time but not my second.
If you was wanting to book a holiday at the ficus DO NOT go in the school holidays because it is just ramed full. every morning i had to get up at about 7am to make sure i got a sun lounger which i think is a disscrase.
So if you was going to book a holiday with the ficus book it outside the school holidays because it isn't as busy and the food is better.

We have just returned back from the Ficus after a 10 night holiday. (2 adults & 2 children) All i can say is Brill, staff are lovely, food is ok, accomadation is clean and entertainment people are fabulous.(My wee boy won a flippin superstar t-shirt and that just made his holiday.) At the end of the day if you want 5* then go to the Hilton... if you want a wee cheapee holiday then this is the place to go. The beach isn't too far away, plenty of sunbeds and the staff will go out of their way to accomadate you. What more can you ask for?????? We would go back to this resort again without a doubt.

just returned from two weeks at the ficus {1/7/2010-15/7/2010} and i have to say it was the best two weeks ever. we read many reviews some good some bad and we did worry about what we was in for. we had never been all inclusive before always self catering and we had nothing to worry about. we had plenty of choice of food not all fish, and pork as some have said and definitely no chips at breakfast contintal, or bacon, sausage, egg, plenty of choices different theme nights eg, chinese, italian, spanish [paella} even a carvery style dinner on sundayst it was a very clean hotel and the staff very pleasent and helpfull. the kids loved the pool and the idea that ice cream and drinks were free all day. the entertainment around the pool was great fun, for both adults and children who want to join in, of an evening again the entertainment was ideal well done to pete, georga and helen{thomas cook reps} you all did a great job my girls loved you all. costa tegise is a beautifull resort and the beaches are well looked after. i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and i would definitely recommend all inclusive best thing we ever did, no "iwant, i want" of the kids, fab. we are that impressed we have tried to book a wk in august but thay are fully booked up roll on next year at the ficus.

We had a good week at the ficus last year and got a good deal for another go. Apartments are clean but a little used ours was cleaned 4 times in the week. I think the food is a little better than last year, not so sure about chips at breakfast (but if you fancy chips for your holiday breakfast go for it) I did have roast red peppers on mine one day. The choice at the bar was much better than other 3 star all inclusive we've tried, cocktails a local Irish cream a good choice of spirits plus a help yourself beer tap in the restaurant. Entertainment was OK very good hearted and the staff gave it their all.
A very relaxing week. But remember you get what you pay for....

Arrived back from Ficus Apartments on 30th May after an 11day stay, the the rooms were basic, but always clean the beds were maid daily and rooms swept out every other day. The food was nice and they had different theme nights for food.
The pool was not to big and as the complex wasn't huge you were able to see the kids at all times, they even put on a hotel life guard to watch the pool from morning to evening.
The entertainment Team, Helen, Pete and Georgia, were fantastic, they were very well organized and always had fun thing for people to do during the day and kids disco in the evening and a from 8-9pm they had an outside entertainment I.E Snake Man, Owl Man, and various others...
It was only about a 5 min walk to the beach which was a lovely and sandy.
I would recommend to family and friends for a nice relaxing break.

A single parent age 40 decided to go away with my 2 girls aged 5 & 18 to the ficus apartments as was reasonable price and all inclusive. The hotel rooms are very basic and i was a little disappointed to see that we had to pay for the use of the kettle/television/ and safe in the room. However we werent in the room that much as spent every day lounging by the pool. My 5 year old loved the little pool and made loads of friends. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was ok not brilliant but there was plenty of choice each day, cant grumble as a single mom didnt washup/cook/makebeds/clean all week just pure indullgence enjoying some time with the kids. The club on the evening was great, the entertainment was really good. If your not too fussy about luxury surroundings this is the place. Came back thinking id definitley go there again. Didnt really need any spending apart from a euro for 15 mins on the internet at reception. Or phone card to call back home. weather was fab a bit windy first few days but then a mega heatwave where i was wishing for a breeze, came back with a lovely tan feeling rejuvinated. Lots of beeches about but about ten mins walking distance.

Me, my friend and her son have just got back from a week in Lanzartoe (Ficus apartments) we booked this online, however after reading several bad reviews got quite nervous about it, this was all put behind us as soon as we got there.
Before we went we requested a pool view and we got it, all the staff were very friendly from day one, the entertainment team were great, big shout out to Helen,Georgia and Pete they were brilliant with the kids and kept everyone entertained.
The hotel was very clean, there was always enough sunbeds to go around, however they are uncomfortable so look out for people who are leaving as they may have a lilo you could have or the shop at the end of the road sells them for 4euros ( just make sure he blows it up for you as they take ages!!)
Our room was clean, tidy and very spacious, couldn't find any fault there. However on the last few nights it got quite windy and the wind whistled through the apartment- it happened to everyone so not a lot you can do really just try and sleep through it.
Theres quite a few bad reviews about the food on here also, we ate there every single day couldnt find a problem with it, breakfast was the same as everywhere serving everything from cereals and toast to full English and cakes! They had hot snacks all day (chips sausages fish bites) Lunch again couldn't find a problem, they had a salad bar, chips, plenty of vegetable dishes, chicken etc, cant comment on the puds as i only ate the ice cream there which was lovely- not sure about the orange flavor though myself!! Dinner again full salad bar, rice, chips, meat dishes, vegetable dishes and plenty of ice cream and fruit, drinks were fins what you would expect for all inclusive drinks!
We stayed around the pool for most of the days, a few trips to the beach, theres a market on the friday night which is apparently quite good which we missed :(. The beach is lovely, the sand is quite good for a volcanic island aswell!
The pool was cold in the morning, but by the afternoon it had warmed up a little but when it gets to then you dont care if you turn blue just want to cool down!
Tips:
It does get windy at night, so be prepared, take a cardigan and hair spray its like is most of the time you just have to get on with it!
If your going out for the day its worth laying your towels on a few sunbeds as by late afternoon the sunbeds on the raised platforms weer gone and the kids splash you if your near the pool.
When walking from ficus, take the short cutto the beach, theres a little path along the waste ground by the side of it- much quicker!
Overall we had a fab week, would deff go back!

Having returned from the ficus apartments yesterday i felt i needed to write a review about the great time i had whilst staying there! I went with my friend who is 20 and my little boy who is 3. We all had a great time and were really confused as to what the people writing bad reviews were expecting from the place! On arival the staff were very friendly and our apartment was spacious and clean. The pool area is always clean and there was always space and spare sunbeds for the whole of our stay, which is a first for any hotel i have ever stayed at! Some of the reviews we had read before going had mentiond they were not happy with the food... i have no idea where these people were eating as the food we ate throughout our stay was exceptional with loads of choice for adults and children every day! There were plenty of different drinks to chose from and the bar staff were always helpful and cheerful. The entertainment team at the ficus are also really good. Helen, Pete and Gorgia work so hard day and night and are always happily chatting away to the adults and kids. My son loved the discos at night and we all really enjoyed the kids reptile and bird of pray shows. I would deffinatly go back to the ficus! The only slight bad thing about our holiday was the wind that whistled through the apartment at night, which isnt really a problem as you get used to it and it only happend to us on 2 nights out of 7! I would reccomend this place to anyone!

At first when I arrived at the reception, I thought to my self this reception looks bad and Ive seen better before, but as the days when on I started to enjoy and like the place overall.
The one thing i liked the most about the hotel was the entertainment and not only did they have evening shows, they also did a lot of activities during the day for children all ages and also at times they had activities for adults which where good aswell.
In my oppinion the food was nice but compered to some of the othr places I have stayed at it was not as good but for the money you pay for the holiday the food is worth.
If you didnt want to stay in for the evening entertainment at the hotel, you can go out into town and pick form quite a few nice bars/pub and enjoy yourself there. One good place to for a night out is legends and in that place there is karaoke and another good thing about that place is children of all ages can get in.
Oh yes the beach is not to far only a little walk and at the beach you can rent sunbeds for the day or use your own. it would also be a good idea to bring some money dow to the beach when planing to go as there are a lot of people walking down the beach selling stuff that yuo may want to buy or simply you might want to go into town and by somethink when sending a whole day there.
I would recomend this hoilday for families as you would really enjoy it and want to go back. I have aslo meet very friendly people on my stay there. If i could organise another trip there with the same people I would. I wil never forget an amazing holiday.
Hope this review helped you you with deciding abiut your say at ficus. x
