Recently got back from our 2week holiday to Skiathos, where me and my family stayed in Troulos at the Mythos Studios, couldn’t really fault it and would definitely stay back there again.
The Rooms were very basic and were very clean, you could have your room cleaned daily if you wanted as all you needed to do was leave your room keys downstairs at the pool bar.
Couldn’t fault the pool as it was clean and a reasonable size.
There were a few things that were a bit dodgy in our room were: the lights didn’t work (so it was hard 2 walk around at night) Also our family of 4 stayed in 2 different rooms- mine and my sisters room key, could open my parents room (which is a bit worrying because we thought "so can every key open every door?".
The beach was great. It had lovely clear waters and nice soft sand. Sun beds were a rip off as they were 8euros for 2 beds and brolley.
We hired a car whilst on the holiday and travelled around to a few of the [so called] best beaches of skiathos-we found out that the best beach was actually your local beach-Troulos beach.
Although the tavernas were quite spread out, they were all lovely and people who worked in them were very friendly & sweet as most of them gave us freebies at the end of our meal such as: alcohol, ice creams, watermelon-pineapple, coffee etc.
Our favourite Tavernas were: Nectar&Ambrosio,Troulos Bay Hotel and the Beach tavernas. The beach tavernas looked as if they were all one, but in actual fact were all separate, and tried to grab passers by in!
A few nights we caught the bus (very cheap) which takes you to skiathos town which is where all the night life is and literally has *hundreds* of tavernas and Souvenir shops.
All in all it was a superb holiday and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!!

As everyone has said this is a quiet, comfortable and well run resort and the owners are excellent in looking after you. I think its good value but won’t suit everyone.
Just a couple of minor gripes. All drinks at the bar seem to be bare around 1/2 to 1 euro (including beer) more expensive than most places - but of course you don’t need to use it.
Food at the bar is okay but mostly from frozen I think and cooked at the bar - its fine but you can for example get a proper pizza in town cooked on a wood burning stove at an Italian restaurant for the same price - or drinks at the waterfront bars for the same price.
The swimming pool is no good for non swimmers as its deep all round - though there is a small children’s pool.

We really couldn’t recommend this resort too highly and can’t wait to return. Thanks again Alex and family!

We have just returned from the Mythos apartments in Troulos. The accommodation is spotless, with maid service daily if you want it.
All you have to do is leave your key and your room will be gleaming when you return.
The pool and pool area is spacious and immaculate. Alex and his wife Nota are so friendly and happy to do anything they can to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. We have a 9 year old daughter who had great fun improving her swimming skills along with a little friend she met there.
We did appreciate the fact that this accommodation was very quiet and relaxed and enabled us to have some real chill-out time without any rowdy days or nights within the complex!
These apartments promote a respectful, relaxed environment. All the other quests we met there were genuine and friendly, which made our stay even nicer.
Troulos itself is quite laid-back but there are a few tavernas dotted around and the beach is very nice. Some evenings we enjoyed hopping on the frequent bus service that takes you into Skiathos Town, which is cheap and it doesn't take you long to get there.
There you will find wonderful traditional tavernas, along with sophisticated, cosmopolitan bars and restaurants- a great atmosphere. Even Goldie Horn was spotted one evening!

Have just returned from the Mythos Studios.
The studios are in the perfect location for a relaxing holiday; located in a secluded valley away from the main road but only a short stroll from the beach, tavernas and bus stop 20 (for Skiathos Town and numerous alternative beaches).
The accommodation is family run and the owners are very approachable and friendly. The studios are basic but immaculately clean and will be cleaned daily if required (just leave your key at the bar in the morning).
The pool is a reasonable size, very clean and is a sun trap from morning till dusk.
My only minor gripe is that the white plastic sunbeds did not have cushions and were hard as nails to lie on. I realise that the purchase of a lilo would have been a solution - but cushions could easily be provided and had they been available, I would have given a rating of 10/10 instead of a 9.
As a last comment, thanks to Alex (the owner) for his cool and calm advice regarding evacuation in the face of a forest fire that swept across the hills near to the accommodation on 12/7/2007.
This was a serious fire that affected the Troulos and Platanias areas of Skiathos and has temporarily blighted some of the surrounding countryside, although the immediate area around the Mythos thankfully remained unscathed.

We've just come back from our third stay at Mythos as we just love it there.
Yes, it is out of the way, but that is part of its charm. The only noise you hear at night are the Skops owls 'talking' to each other and the occasional pheasant crash landing in to the bushes behind the apartments.
The family, who run the apartments, Stavros, Alex, and Nota, are always pleased to see you and make you feel incredibly welcome.
The apartments are clean and spacious with linen and towels changed twice a week. There are kettles in each of the apartments and some also have air conditioning.
Cleaning is as often as you want and extremely efficient. A choice of two supermarkets within 5 minutes of the apartments is very handy and the prices are good.
The main pool is quite deep but it is extremely well maintained as is the kid’s pool and together with the pool bar, this is an excellent place to stay.
Troulos beach is a 10 minute walk from the apartments down a track which leads you to the main Koukounaries road. The beach is family friendly and although there are watersports from the beach, these aren't intrusive.
A wonderful way to spend the afternoon is to feed the small fish in the water with a bread roll - it really makes the holiday! We've also been lucky enough to see octopus in the water off Troulos on occasions.
There is a good choice of restaurants in Troulos itself, Paradosi being our favourite but if you want some nightlife, Skiathos town is only 20 mins away on the bus (1.50 Euros each) or about 7 Euros if you get a taxi. If you take a taxi, make sure you agree a price before you get in!
We really cannot fault the Mythos Apartments - we're planning to return again this September!

Well we have returned here for 6 years now for a lovely relaxing week every June, Stavros, Alex and Noto are just the best.
Nothing is too much trouble and the homemade moussaka is still the best ever!
Beaches are just fab and you have so many to choose from. I would highly recommend hiring a jeep from Nikos at Victiroa great rates you can book over the net and the jeep is at the airport waiting for you when you arrive, there is only 1 main road so you can not get lost.
I would suggest you go and enjoy.
If you want beauty, great food great people then here is the place. See you June 07.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mythos Apartments last August and after having an accident on a local scooter, we were looked after really well by the friendly owners.
It was a nice friendly stay and I would definitely go back soon. The family were lovely and made us feel really welcome.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice relaxing holiday in the sun, ideal for couples.

This is a lovely quiet hotel just what the Dr ordered, Stavros and his team cannot do enough for you, he has a set of rules which he asks guests to keep to, i.e. wearing a shirt at the bar, no noise after midnight all of which add to the peacefulness on the down side, no supermarket on site, so a 5 min amble to the nearest one which is fine unless your bringing back water, they provide kettles (top tip the water has a high mineral content and is safe to cook & drink but if you don’t like the taste boil it first then pour into bottles to cool it will save you a fortune on water and rest the back and arm muscles!)
Olympic Rep was great except on the arrival day when they are all at the airport, here you part company from your luggage and it is delivered later much later ie 2hrs after you so take spare clothes in your hand luggage so you can freshen up and sun screen as I stupidly left mine in the suitcase!
The rep then takes you to your destination and explains that someone will be along shortly from Olympic to take you to the resort, all that was there was 1 small olive tree for shade, had we known how to get to the hotel we could have walked in5 mins, why they just did not give us directions i will never know, after a 30min wait in the heat of the sun you can imagine children crying wilting mums stressed dads need I say more (Olympic sort your act out!).
We were all about to mutiny and head for the nearest taverna when two young teens on holidays took pity on us as they walked past and showed us the way, and it is this for those of you going when the coach drops you off, walk straight across the road through the gate which is a wooden pallet tied loosely with string very Greek!, follow across the field to the other wooden pallet gate, on your left you pass a taverna resist the urge to stop if you can, this brings you to a road go on straight passed the second taverna/hotel on your right carry on this road as it is the only one and follow it up a small hill and around the bend and at the bottom is the Mythos resort.
Because of its location nobody other than guests go there and if a holiday of rest and relaxation is all you want this is the place for you if you want lots of noise and party every night then avoid like the plague but I for one would go back tomorrow if I could
Hope you find this useful.

The Mythos apartments are situated within a 15 minute amble from Troulos beach. You will encounter a small, though steep hill which is a bit tiring after a hard day on the beach, but great for toning up the leg muscles.
The apartments are owned and run by Stavros although he returns to Athens at the end of July every year to attend to his children’s clothing outlet. His uncle takes over until the end of the season from there on in. The bar running is assisted by a Romanian chap called Florin from 12.00 - 20.00 every day. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
Don't go here if you are expecting to be able to sunbathe topless round the pool - it is forbidden. If you want air conditioning make sure that you specify that to the holiday operator that you wish to be put in the new block (room numbers 1 - 12 inclusive), although we found that the evenings were pleasantly cool and did not need it (late July).
The rooms are cleaned every day except change over day (Friday) and clean linen twice a week. The bar is well stocked and a small selection of snack meals are available all day.
If you take the track by the side of the first supermarket, this will bring you to the main road. A right turn then first left takes you to the clean and picturesque beach set in a bay. There are a couple of tavernas on the beach which serve good food at an average price.
A left turn on the main road and a short walk to bus stop 19 will bring you to a superb taverna called Nectar & Ambrosia where they serve excellent food at reasonable prices. Watch out for the portions though, they are massive!!
Excellent relaxing holiday, great for the kids - would definitely go back.

Hi I would like to comment on all the fantastic praise that Alex and Nota get for their accommodation it is in fact fantastic and the service is excellent. But can we try and not forget the reps that work really hard all summer to make sure these standards are maintained.
I had a lot of fantastic chats with our rep at the time who was always very accommodating and was brilliant with our two children (in fact they looked forward to her visits). Even the pettiest issue we had seemed no problem to her.
Give praise where praise is due well done Olympic for finding polite well mannered helpful staff.

If you want peace and quiet this is the place to go. To get to the apartments you have to walk up a bit of an incline and then down again to the property.
When you arrive, it is not possible for the coach to access this rather small road, so you are dropped off at the sports bar about 1/2 mile away and have to firstly walk through a goat field and then down the narrow road, up the hill and down to the apartments.
The apartments are pretty good though, basic but clean and spacious. Decent pool and sunbathing area.
The apartments are situated at the edge of the resort and it is about 5 mins walk to the first bar and a good 15 minutes walk to the rather nice beach.
The resort itself is kind of in a triangular arrangement and if you start at any one point you can walk around this triangle in about 30 - 45 mins, with a decent selection of bars/restaurants situated at various intervals along the way.
