Accomodation was not also so much pleasant. i believe that more professionalism would be essential. the hotel is very expensive for that it provides. perhaps prices in skiathos are generally high. precise prices that do not keep pace with the quality. the employees were... more

The Mandraki Hotel is a fantastic boutique hotel which wouldn't be out of place in a main European city. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation is great: very modern, fully equiped bathroom with proper shower cubicle and air conditioning. My only... more

lovely hotel, staff disappointing
Booked this hotel mainly based on reveiws and photos. The hotel was beautiful, lovely design, high standard and very clean. Pool, bar, breakfast/conservatory and restaurant very well decorated. However we found the staff completely disinterested in any of the guests. They did not speak make eye contact or acknowlege the presence of the guests unless we spoke first. Each morning at breakfast the staff sat watching TV, smoking and drinking coffee in reception, we felt we were intruding walking through to breakfast as they looked over us to see the screen, they neither greeted us or conversed in anyway. We ate in the gorgeous hotel restaurant 1 night and it was the worst meal of the holiday. Only one starter arrived followed by steak served on a piece of "white sliced loaf" which soaked up the blood from the cold undercooked steak. The waitress did not return to us we could see her and the chef talking and smoking inside the restaurant . We had to go and look for her for the bill which they tried to charge for a starter not received. As there were only 2 of us and 4 other couples that night they certainly were not busy. She had the cheek to even keep 5 euros change, again we had to go and find her to get it back. The only person who spoke to us was the maid who was always cheerful and polite, the waiter at breakfast was also pleasant. I would not return as the hotel lacked atmosphere which we have always found at other Greek hotels during many happy holidays
Very relaxing in Skiathos
Just arrived home, finally, from Skiathos where we stayed at the Mandraki Village Hotel. having read the reviews here I had an idea what to expect and it was as lovely as everyone said. Elias Restaurant upstairs in the hotel was lovely. Lamp Chops were gorgeous had them 3 times. The Big Bad Wolf restaurant right beside the hotel is good value and the food is good. The second night we were there there was a huge electricial storm which lasted all night and it didn't stop raining 'til about 3 the next day. The hotel was leaking everywhere (not in the rooms, but in the bar and breakfast area) and as it was mostly outdoors it was very uncomforrtable, but the staff still served up breakfast and it was the only bad day we had. The only complaint is the bathroom door in the room is glass, frosted glass with a big gap all around the door (very modern) but a bit too "intimate" sometimes. Koukounaries beach is only a ten minute walk through a beautiful wooded/green area and was very enjoyable every morning and evening. All in all a lovely holiday and highly recommended. We were travelling with XL from Dublin and only heard they had gone bankrupt two hours before we were to be picked up, (we were at the beach). We were told we wouldn't get out 'til the following day and was looking forward to another night at the Hotel, but they managed to get us out with a charter flight at 10.45 that night, oh well.....
Best hotel you`ll ever find in Greece!
The hotel is newly renovated and far better than what you`d expect in Greece. The room are very clean, bright and modern, and a nice place to come back to after a day out. The room itself was rather small, but had everything you needed. The bathroom was nice and spacious, definitely a perk! The lobby and pool were spotless and inviting, and the hotel is set in green gardens (with foutains, sculputres, palm trees...) that are very nicely kept. The breakfast was nice too, served until 10.30. We recommend renting a car/scooter and going to the Mandraki beach which is about 10 minutes away. It was far nicer and less crowded than the Koukounaries beach (and most of the beaches along the east cost). An altogether very pleasant experience, and certainly the best place we`ve ever stayed in Greece.
Cosy and modern hotel in a perfect area
We booked a junior suite for a week with my wife and 2yr old daughter which was located at the 2nd floor of one of the hotel buildings. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is surrounded by pine trees and the areas between the several hotel buildings and the lobby are full of grass and flowers. Even the parking area had grass. The distance to Koukounaries beach (the best in Skiathos) is a few minutes walk but anyway not 200 meters as the hotel site says. I would say it is around 400 meters (~1000ft). All areas of the hotel are fully renovated and the main bar and lobby next to the pool (where breakfast is served) is one of the strongest ones. The room and the bathroom were very clean and perfectly decorated although I would expect the room to be more spacious as the word suite implies. All furniture was very modern and room facilities adequate. Fridge is a little small and located inside a closet which does not make it very efficient. Personnel were very friendly and this behavior seemed to be normal to them which was great. But front desk needs a little more job on this although not any particular problem occurred. Some minor remarks: - Curtains permit some light to come into the room. - No free plugs for use. You have to unplug a device in order to use a plug. - For breakfast during peak time you may need to wait for a while until a table gets empty. - ~20 stairs to go to 2nd floor (~10 stairs to the 1st). No problem if you don't have to curry anything heavy (i.e. baby carriage) Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and definitely worth the money paid.
Really is everything it advertises;.
Just to confirm what other travellers have said about Mandraki Village. It really is all it says in the brochure. Quite location. 100% clean. Bright, modern, fantastic food in the hotel restaurant. 20 min walk from some of the best beaches. We highly recommend Mandraki beach. We'd stay there again in a heart beat. Ashbourne, Ireland
Best holidays ever....!
We stayed at Mandraki Village for 4 days, and was a fantastic time. The weather, pool, accommodations, facilities, service, hospitality, everything perfect. For dinner and to discovery the island we follow the wise recommendations from Despina and her staff. Nothing better than a local to show you all the secrets. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay for a relaxing, luxurious & enjoyable holiday on a charming island. To end the only thing a say is "Was the most relaxing time ever!"
Mandraki Village....you will love it
Wow! Another incredible stay at Mandraki Village! Me and my wife spent 4 days there in June and the hotel is flawless! The pool is completely new (since last year), and the stuff is always there at your service. You really can find serenity in Mandraki Village, and in my opinion it is one of the best options for staying in Skiathos! You can find everything at your disposal so quickly and there is no better place to be even when Skiathos is fully crowded! The Elia's restaurant keeps up my high expectations (thanks to Manos and his team) and it is a MUST for dining even if you don't stay at Mandraki. You can easily stay at the pool bar for Mohito's, Caipirinha's and cocktails and i must say that Sinisa (bartender) is really talented in cocktail making. Our goal is to come back again this year, because in Mandraki Village you can find the true sense of vacation in Skiathos! Thanks Nteni and Nikos (owners) for the warm welcme, and hope we see you again! Dimjo

A very pleasant Holiday
I have recently returned from an enjoyable holiday in Koukounaries, Skiathos and stayed at the Mandraki Hotel. The staff at the Hotel were very helpful and friendly. The Hotel and gardens were kept immaculate. Towels and sheets changed every other day. The rooms are small and do require re-decoration, but pleasant. The island is lovely and skiathos town is wonderful. We did not have one bad meal during the holiday. We strongly recommend the Windmill Restaurant, expensive but excellant. Take some wasp killer with you. They are about but not a huge problem
Delightful Mandraki
We loved everything about the Mandraki Hotel. The cleanliness, comfort, beautifull well kept gardens, lovely pool, friendly staff and most of all the feeling of welcome from the owners. The food is also excellent and very competetive in relation to the other tavernas and restaurants in the area. Well situated on the edge of the village with easy access into the conservation area, with a footpath direct to the beach. We will most certainly be back soon!!
