The owners Martina and Bill are the very open, welcoming and helpful. The view is great. Great bar and music. Food is great and the choice of drinks is fabulous. The owners are both Greek and very knowledgeable of the island are more than willing to point you in the right direction to enjoy your holiday to the full.
Just spent a week here, very relaxing and nice place. Perfect view of the valley from the porch that comes with each of the apartments. The music at the bar is great and the company is excellent, even when there is no one else there but the owners although that is quite rare as people from neighbouring hotels turn up for a drink all the time. The pool is close to the bar and the music.
The rooms are kept clean and are all well equipped for those who aren’t hung over too much to not be unable to cook their own food (cant claim to be amongst them myself) and if not that’s ok because the food at the bar which stay open as late as you want it too also opens up at about 10 to serve you breakfast or range of other snacks throughout the day. Kolios beach is a few minutes walk away with a really cool bar and restaurant and also a nice beach.
The resort is located almost central to the island and allows you easy access to the either end of the island from the main town to Koukounaries (a beautiful long sandy beach) and both ends of the island can be reached by the local busses that run either way about every twenty mins to either end of the island from about 8am to 1-30pm depending on the time of season. There are ferry trips or organised excursions to the neighbouring islands from the town and the owners are as natives very knowledgably and willing to advise on what is on offer locally and abroad. To sum it up it's great value for money and very enjoyable.
Olympic holidays are a waste of time, use another operator although i highly recommend the resort. Any other operator is my suggestion although this is my first trip to the island so beware - they may all be as bad and if that’s the case the best bet is to keep hold of your luggage yourself! But back to Olympic... from being left on the main road to the hotel for over half an hour waiting for the rep to turn up to take us to the resort on our first day (which was by the way no more than a few mins walk up a side road) to our bags being dumped in a pub by the guys who collected them from the resort on the last day.
Can you believe it they left them in a pub near the airport with NOBODY watching them! I couldn’t. No joke i just walked in there picked up my bag and walked out, no questions asked. Anyone could have walked off with my bag... And was there even one person from Olympic inside or outside the airport to tell you where your bags were, no way, just a nice big empty office. If not for a fellow traveller informing us of the location of our baggage we would have been in trouble.
