Having read some other people's reviews, we were not expecting a great deal,but were delighted with these lovely appartments
Ours was very clean, with all the necessary equipment.The view from our room (Number 3) was beautiful with a pretty garden, trees, & the sea beyond.
The pool area was never busy & we liked the fact that there was no pool bar.
This is a very peaceful area although the cockeral woke up in the mornings!
We had a car so we didn't need to do the uphill walk from the bus stop which is quite near.
We wpould return to this beautiful Island & be happy to stay at Demetris again

we stayed in July 2009.
apartments were very greek and basic.it had the very very basic items just to make a breakfast.the unit we stayed in was cleaned every other day and the bin emptied at the same time.
the apartments are located up a slight hill ,along the way os a taverna and a supermarket,the walk to the main strip in kolios only takes 10-15mins and is easy to do.
the beach is about the same distance,and is a nice quiet beach with sunbeds.beware of the insects in the trees though,they excrete at quite a rate and it stains your clothes and stinks.we dont know what they were,crickets maybe?
The only let down of our stay was ,we were in the pre-fabs at the back of the complex with a view of a tree and a bin!!! also the paper thin walls where you heard everyones night time workouts!!
if you stay in the main block you should have some privacy and a decent view,if you stay at the back,you get no sun,no view,and have to move round on tip toes to be quiet!

Only cockrels and swallows break the silence, idyllic, a 10 minute stroll from the main road, rooms are basic but kept very clean, the first week it was like our own villa, very quiet, the pool is small but lovely, Skiathos is the 25th Greek Island I have visited! All in all an excellent holiday, I would have no doubt recomending Demetris Studios to any one if they require peace and quiet, Louise, Henry & Dominic

I and my boyfriend stayed at these apartments and although they were basic, we were impressed with the cleanliness and location.
Skiathos was stunning and we enjoyed the views, beaches and the walks to different tavernas every night.
Skiathos town was just a bus journey away for us for a more exciting night out.
We had a beautiful holiday here and I would recommend it to couples without walking difficulties, who like some peace and tranquillity

Just returned from a two week holiday. First visit to Skiathos and will definitely return to the island and these apartments.
Apartments are basic, but very clean and comfortable there is no air conditioning but you can hire fans for 2 euros per night.
Set in beautiful gardens with fantastic views. Great pool.
Surrounding tavernas excellent and Greek nights are well worth a visit.
Only draw back apartments are located a ten min walk from the main road and may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.

I stayed in the Demetris apartments in Sept 2004 and loved the setting. You are in a small garden with only a few other apartments so it is nice and quiet.
The view across Kolios from the open French doors is fantastic. The pool is small but welcoming after a days trekking or sunbathing. There is a great beach to the right of the apartments down a road into Kolios where there are also a few tavernas and bars. Just down the track from the apartments is a mini mart where you can buy essentials like a cold Mythos. The track back is a bit dark at night but not a great problem.
Outside the apartments on the main road is a bus stop which for 80 cents will take you into Skiathos town, where the main nightlife is. Whilst in the main town, book a trip to Alonisos and Skopelos on the boat Kassandra. It's a full days trip which cost me 10 Euros in 2004. It stops off at a great cove in Skopelos where you can take a swim and enjoy the beautiful setting.
I could go for ages but all in all the Demetris is a great base from which to explore the island, and make sure you do. A stunning island and after visiting most of the Greek islands that's saying something.

I've stayed at Demetris Studios each September for the last four years, so that says something in itself!
The studios are fairly basic but have everything you need for a self catering holiday. There are two blocks containing 15 studios. The older block is built on two floors and has 10 studios - five on the ground floor and another five on the upper floor. Behind this block is another single storey block with a further five studios. Everything is kept very clean and the complex is set in a very neat garden.
The staff are very friendly. There is a small kidney shaped pool surrounded by a lovely paved area with sunbeds and umbrellas. The pool shelves very steeply so is not really suitable for children. Beside the pool is a little gazebo with a table and chairs and a big basket of books - ideal if you've forgotten yours or if you are a keen reader. Two minutes from the studios is the Manos supermarket with its very friendly staff. It stocks most things you are likely to need. A five minute walk takes you to the Infinity Blue restaurant with great food and a spectacular view over the bay. This must be one of the best restaurants on the island.
There are other small restaurants about fifteen minutes walk away. One which is really worth trying is the Green Park - up a small side road just beside Jimmy's Pizzas. The bus stop is just over five minutes walk from the studios with, roughly, a 15 - 20 minute service into Skiathos town in one direction and Koukounaries in the other direction. Bus fares are very cheap and even the taxis are very reasonable - but remember to barter the price before you get in!
People with mobility problems might find the studios difficult as they are up a slight incline - however I really like the Demetris Studios and hope to be back again in September 2006.
