A group of five of us (all girls) stayed at the Don Bigote from the 5th-12th Oct 2007.
We had an amazing holiday! The hotel rooms were quite basic, but did the job. It was so cheap we couldn't complain. Everyone was friendly and the food was ok, but a bit strange sometimes!
The hotel has a perfect location, so close to the beach and central Palma Nova, but also very close to Magaluf. However it was a lot quieter than we thought, so I would recommend going in Summer.
If you are a young lively group make sure to visit Banana Joe's, it is the best bar ever and really made our holiday!
This hotel is definitely recommended!

We arrived in the early hours of the morning to the hotel. After checking in we were offered a bag with water fruit and sandwich to keep us going until breakfast.
We found the food ok and much as we expected. There was a good choice on a daily basis with staff standing at the serving platters to ensure they were never empty.
We also found the staff very helpful and polite. We had maid service every day and could if we chose had clean towels on a daily basis.
As we were there the middle of September there were mixed ages of guest. We are nearly 40 and had a great time.

5/10- went on 8 September 2007 to Don Bigote, it is a typical two star hotel- compared with the other 3* hotels in the area it is extremely basic and room is very small. I went with my boyfriend so I guess it was "cosy", cockroach's in the room which was a bit off-putting.
Location of the hotel is good- near bars and restaurants. Maids came every day to change towels and clean room which was good. Food was quite good- your typical buffet salads with meat, fish and cooked breakfasts in the mornings. Caught stomach bug in the second week- only ate in the hotel so food hygiene must be rubbish behind the scenes.
In all a perfect hotel if you don't eat the food and want a place to kip after clubbing and then waking everyone up at 5am.

I thought this hotel was OK for what we paid, all the other hols we looked at were asking a lot more for SC so good value.
The hotels just around the corner from the beach, couldn’t believe how close it was so I can’t comment on the pool as we went to the beach everyday (but it looked OK to me). The staff seemed nice on reception and anyone else who we saw.
Rooms were kept really tidy by maids. Didn’t use the bar as went out into Magaluf every night but that looked OK too!
We only had breakfast once, as we couldn’t drag ourselves out of bed for it! That was OK but did prefer to eat out, but good thing is eat as much as you want! Only ate at night couple of times as we only went for a week and like to eat out but the food was nice.
My 1st time to Majorca and I'll definitely be going back it was brilliant! Just one thing about the hotel was the idiots who were on our floor who were constantly shouting and banging on everyone’s doors (incl ours) in early hours just annoying when you’ve been out all night and want to have at least a little bit of sleep!
Everything was really good though definitely recommend to anyone of all ages! Groups, couples, families all catered for!

I stayed at the Don Bigote for three nights and I must admit we had a wonderful time. Great pool area where you could watch the men jumping in the pool from the comfort of the many spare loungers. The pool toilets were exceptionally clean and the cubicles could fit more than one if required, no matter which way you were turned.
There was a great range of food available at mealtimes, I'd particularly recommend the sausage. The staff were very helpful, even when I purposely dashed home one night to beat my fun room mate who'd left earlier and found he still had the key, but I was very impressed with the night henchman, who let me in no problem, once I was in I went back down, but he insisted that he came up, which was very nice. The lifts played great music which was a bonus, could have been straight out my record collection. All in all a great hotel. Its the Don Bigote every time for me in future.

LOL... What a dump!! - We nick named it THE DUMPING GROUND!
We've stayed in the Magamar in Magaluf and that was like a palace compared to this hole! We booked Club Freestyle through Thomson and on arrival at 9.15pm was greeted by the whole of the bar area playing bingo!
First night we came in after going out for a drink, we had the security guard knocking on the door to tell us to keep the noise down!
The hotel was full of oldies (on zimmers, couldn't hardly see or walk!), not young and lively at all! The bar shut at 12am every night, no music by the pool!
The maids came to clean the room despite there being a do not disturb sign on the door, only made the bed, emptied the bins and cleaned the ashtrays! No clean towels and no clean bedding for a week! YUCK!
Second day went to see the rep and he didn't want to know! Considering there was only 2 girls, and my mate who I went with booked it actually works for Thomson, it was disgusting! Wouldn't even rate it a 1 star!
Holiday was awesome, but that was because we made it good (Magaluf), nothing to do in Palma Nova except Banana Joes which was good!
Young or old, don't even bother!!!

Read the reviews about this hotel very much surprised when we got there. Hotel basic but what do you expect for the price you pay.
Food good for price, rooms cleaned and towels changed every day. Very quiet in October but have been told noisy in main season.
Hotel pool very deep so be very careful not far before and big drop and pool very deep.
We enjoyed this hotel very much but only recommend out of season for families if you want some sleep.

The holiday was great overall but a few problems with the hotel.
The walls are very thin, so annoying noise during the night! The air conditioning in our room on the first night was SO loud, but after that it seems to quiet down alot. There were nails sticking out of the sides of the beds and I stubbed my toe on one of them! It still looks all bruised now.
The hotel staff are overall quite rude, especially on the reception desk but also in the restaurant. We went half board so in the evening we went for our meal, if you can call it that! I and my sister are both vegetarians and there was absolutely nothing for us to eat! So we asked for a vegetarian meal to be cooked for us and we got a big plate of fried vegetables, courgettes, mushrooms etc swilling in mushroom juice, it was not nice! So we decided that they did not understand vegetarians so we mostly just went to see what they had and ate some stuff, if not we ate out! Also, one of the waiters in the restaurant wanted the money for the drinks right there and then and was very rude!
The rooms are also tiny, but clean. and I guess you probably wouldn’t be spending alot of time in them anyway.

First Thought - Not a bad reception, nice lifts (they must have been the most expensive part of the hotel!).
We checked in about 11pm at night, the staff seemed nice and helped us with what we needed. Got the keys and headed up to the room.
The Room - As most people have stated, these rooms are TINY, no question about that but were good enough for a week. We also had a view overlooking the pool. Room also has air con which makes a massive difference. Also the beds were very comfortable and getting a good night sleep wasn’t hard. That said, the walls and doors are thin so noise would be the only factor keeping you awake although we didn’t have that much noise disturbance.
The Bathroom - Hmm, it was as basic as you could get, I didn’t like the fact that the only light you could rely on was a small light overhanging the mirror, it really wasn’t bright enough, and there was also little ventilation so it became pretty steamy when having a shower. I do have to say, the shower was brill! But I was a bit concerned as to why the water ran YELLOW for about a min at the start.
The breakfast & Dinner – Breakfast is a very basic fry up with other things like fruit, yogurts and juices. I didn’t much like the breakfast in the hotel and ended up just giving it a miss, but on the other hand the dinner was fantastic, you couldn’t really fault it. They always had something for everyone (although I’ve heard it’s not the best for Veggies) and we ate in every night. Drinks at dinner are priced at €1.60 for a 200ml Soft drink or a 500ml Bottle of water (2007).
The Bar – Quite reasonably priced and actually did some very good cocktails, tasting better than some of the bars we visited. Again I can’t fault the bar and the staff.
The Pool – Cleaned every morning around 8am with this fantastic little device that sinks to the bottom of the pool and goes round cleaning the pool floor up. Water quality seemed good (from what I could tell), also there was enough furniture for everyone up until the afternoon, where you might find the odd one or two free.
Other – They also have two computers for internet use @ €3 an hour it doesn’t seem bad at all. There always seems to be spaces in the hotel or close by if you rent a car. The beach is just a 3min walk and the hotel is immediately close by to two shops and a few bars, as well as a SPAR which is just by the taxi rank.
To get to this hotel by taxi we paid €40 (at night in 2007) which we expected, but if you rent a car for the week (when in Palma Nova), it can be cheaper to take out the Airport return package so you can drop the car when you leave.
Overall for a value holiday you can’t fault this hotel!

We booked our flights and hotel through Easyjet and found everything went really really smoothly.
The hotel, although quite basic was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful.
The rooms, again basic were clean and well kept and quite spacious. The hotel food was very good with a lot of variety.
Palma Nova was beautiful, the beaches were very clean as was the promenade.
Would definitely recommend the resort and the hotel, if anyone looking for cheap and cheerful close to beach and all local amenities!

The rooms were cleaned daily, the breakfast wasn't too bad, and we received great help from reception when we needed it.
The bar wasn't too bad, the pool could have been better, but for somewhere to stay it was ideal, cheaper than most places in Magaluf. Magaluf is so easy to access from there its well worth it.
Plenty of restaurants and a few bars near by. Try out Banana Joe's for a fun drink near by or Natalie's Cafe for great service and lovely Sunday dinners if your missing them. Cheeks is a fun bar to stop into too if you like a bit of banter with the bar staff.
Only real problem was that, we were told its better than staying in Magaluf because you don't get as much noise in the night, not so true, because most of the clubbing types who stay there are in Magaluf every night and do like to make a fair bit of noise on their return to the hotel. No one stops them either, so if your taking kids, that could be a problem for you.
I wouldn't rule out staying there again, it did do everything it was meant to to a fair standard.

Terrible. I went half board but only ate there once and didn't eat it all - smelt and looked like Fried Jack Russel with cold potato!
Rooms were rubbish too - really small, boring place unclean and smelly.
Wicked holiday though!
