thought it was a really lovely hotel. was very clean and the staff at the reception were friendly and during the night the security guys were willing to help. would definately go back and stay at the hotel again. ony fault was the breakfast that was on offer as it was often cold and there was not a lot of choice.

just got back from stay at this hotel and ok it is basic, but what you pay for it is reflected in the price. staff v.friendly and food was very good. choice of food every night and the food was very based around its mainly british guests ie chips, chicken, steak pie. room very tidy and all the bars and other public areas clean. you are a bit away from the action (ie palma nova and magaluf) but a short taxi ride and you are there. I would suggest this hotel to anyone I know and I am even trying to get price for next year!!

just arrived back form don bigote couldnt fault it at all very handy for everythin food was excellent we go to majorca three times a year but never had foodlike it also you could get sunbeds round the pool even though hotel was full, the only down fall was the noise from the hen/stag birthday parties who thought they were 16 again but just ring down to security and they soon sort them out.

Just got bank from a Bank Holiday weekend staying in the Don Bigote. We went with a group of girls and the hotel was fantastic value for money could not fault it. The rooms were very clean and tidy with maid service and clean towels every day. Make sure you take your own music as there is no TV in the room. The pool area was very clean and tidy although the pool could of done with a bit of a clean. The bar staff are brilliant really friendly. The food at the Don Bigote is also quite good especially for how much we paid for the holiday, exceptional value for money. If you have just booked this hotel to go with your children and family members dont be put off by the comments on web sites such as this as long as you not there for a bank holiday as it tends to be full of big groups on hen and stag weekends. The hotel is situated just outside Magaluf but a only a short walk away. Please make sure you visit Bannana Joes, just round the corner from the hotel, the bar staff and DJ in there are absolutely gorgeous. Enjoy ladies !!

I cannot understand bad reviews of this hotel!!!! ok on one or two occasions it was noisy, but it wasn't coming from the young people - on our second night a couple of oldies were sitting on their balcony singing 'country roads', but i found this amusing more than anything lol!!
So my boyfriend and I stayed here for a week (5th october - 12th october) and had a brilliant time, we're 24 and 27 and really just wanted a to chill out. Palma nova itself was beautiful, everything was spotless. The hotel was fantastic, staff were friendly, rooms were cleaned and fresh towels left everyday. Our room was a funny shape, but it was spacious and we also ended up with a fantastic sea view from our balcony.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the centre of magaluf and literally 2 minutes from palma nova beach. We just chilled on the beach everyday as we prefered it to the hotel pool.
There are a couple of things I would recommend. If you want to take water to the beach with you it is much much cheaper to buy it from the big supermarket behind the hotel. Its also a must to visit the water park, but dont pay for sun loungers, you dont need them as there is plenty of places to lay your towel down, however do hire a rubber ring because you wont get one otherwise and you need them for alot of the slides and dont listen to holiday reps who tell you that their tickets also get you q jumps - there are no q's in october lol. We travelled to the waterpark by bus, you cannot go wrong. I'd also say to try the catamaran, its a good way to see other parts of the island. We went to katmandu which is the upside down house in magaluf - i peronally didn't think it was worth the money but my boyfriend loved it!
On the food front we were so pleased with the hotel food that we didnt feel the need to try anywhere else, there was a brilliant mix of dishes and as neither of us are fussy we tried everything. We were half board so if we were peckish at lunch time we went to pizza nova, their pizzas were the best ever!!
All in all it was a brilliant holiday and I would go back anytime, and I would definitely stay in the don bigote again!!!!

Well where do i begin........the DON BIGOTE was EXCELLENT!!!!!me and my two friends were 18and on our first holiday ourselves and we were looking for a cheap hotel where we were close to some night life and the beach and having been to the don bigote the year before we chose this hotel again!!! The hotel had a mix of people of all ages but most of the guest were aged 18 - 25 which suited us as we met loads of ppl who we still keep in touch with the hotel is situated litereally 2 mins from palma nova beach, there is alot of facilities nearby, bars, supermarkets and even a place where you can get photo's developed which helped us when we took too many pics and ran out of memory in our cameras!!! There is even a couple of bank machines about 2-3 mins away incase you run out of cash :P
the hotel is pretty basic........but it was very clean and the rooms were cleaned daily!! The food at the hotel was good......there was a gd range to suit everyone......even my friend who is the fussiest eater EVER found sumfin she wud eat!!! if you get sick of the hotel food you can also go across the road where there is a cafe which does pizzas etc and they do an excellent chips and cgeese which we practically lived on!!!! around five mins away on the main street there is a McDonalds ryt next to the beach (convenient) and one of the BEST chinese restaurants that i have ever been to (recommended by a banana joes PR) although make sure you go 2 the chinese that is upstairs and not the buffet one further up the street as this 1 is MUCH better!!!
The Don Bigote is within 5 mins walk from all of palma novas best pubs and bars but the best had to be Banana Joes (the small one not the big 1) the staff in there were great......there was always lots of free shots to go around (especially for the girls if they danced on the bar) and Banana Joes was the perfect place to start ur nyt although sumtyms u wouldnt want to leave!!!!
the staff in the don bigote will happily phone u a taxi but there is a taxi rank just around the corner on the main street and a taxi into magaluf will take around 5 mins and cost u around 4 or 5 euros!!!
The checkout for the rooms is at 12 but if you want a late checkout book it quick as it wasnt available with every room!!! there is NO luggage room but every1 puts their luggage under the stairs infront of the reception and its in view of the reception so its ok!!!
All in all i would recommend the Don Bigote to anyone who is aged 18 - 25 and is looking for a holiday to magaluf but want the option of taking it easy one or two nyts (although its great if u dnt want 2 do that 2)
My only advice wud be try not to forget your key at nyt as they onli supply u with 1 key and 1 key between 3 ppl meant we were having to get the security guards 2 let us in......and they werent 2 happy about having to do it and gave u dirty looks to say the least!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a holiday. It took me this long to post my comments on this hotel as it took this long to overcome my shuddering feelings for the place.
Me and my mate (both 21) decided to book a late deal away and this is where we decided on as it had good reports and was really REALLY cheap. I’ve already booked up for the 5th May 2008 for 10 nights.
We arrived midday and were welcomed to the dude on the do with a very loud Ola. (smashing guy) The reception staff were very friendly and helped us with everything. We had an excellent room. 1st floor overlooking the pool. As you can imagine it wasn’t very busy at this time so I suppose if we didn’t like it they would of moved us.
The room was basic but had everything we needed. (bed, toilet, shower and balcony). The air con was a big bonus, even though it was in May it was still really hot and we needed it on. Rooms were cleaned every day and we got clean towels every day. We were never out of bed when the maids came round but we just told them to clean around us whilst we slept. They were great.
The pool area and pool bar were really good. We called him'Henry', he would be up first thing cleaning the pool and hosing down the floor. Nice bloke overall though. The food and drink served beside the pool was really good. Excellent chips and even better lager. Not that expensive either. We were paying 5 eurs for 2 pints of lager. Only down side to the pool area was the pool tables as they were on a really bad slope and the balls just used to roll to one side of the table.
As for the restaurant - 10 out of 10. We only had breakfast once, that was because we were just coming in from clubbing when it was opening. It was really good. The evening meal was amazing, always something I could eat. Very tasty too. However I did nearly require a whole set of dentures one night when I bit into my bread roll.
The hotel bar was pretty good. We didn’t tend to spend much time in there though. The bar tender was hilarious. Drinks prices weren’t too bad either. The lager was really good to.
We didn’t really spend any time in Palma Nova itself as when we left the hotel we headed straight for Magaluf, however we did have breakfast in the place next door to Banana Joes and it was really nice. Full English for about 5 euros. Great value for money. I could go on all day about the pubs and clubs in Magaluf but I’ll just mention a few. Crystals and Sugar are amazing. BCM square is another really good place to go. Bar 29 opposite BCM is a must and of course BCM itself.
All in all I couldn’t complain about this holiday at all. As I’ve said I’ve already booked up for 10 days in May and I can’t wait.
Personally I would say this hotel is more for young people than our older generation.

The Hotel is situated a 2 minute walk away from the beach in Palma Nova and is not too near the noisier bars.
What a friendly clean hotel. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Bedrooms air conditioned with lovely clean linen changed daily.
The biggest surprise was the quality of food served every evening, a mixture of Spanish and Mallorcan dishes.
Better for families to visit early or late season as high season the hotel tends to attract younger groups!

I would just like to say, that was the best holiday I have ever been on. The staff when we got there and all the way through the holiday were very friendly. We met some fantastic people there and we also may go there again next year.
We were so pleased about Don Bigote we didn’t want to go home. Also just wanted to say that Don Bigote is just one name for it many people over there would call it Mister Moustache. So if you’re getting a taxi there and they say Mister Moustache that is what it is called.
So I would say the best place to go for a fantastic holiday.

Hotel was very clean and practical but was very small! We ended up having to walk on the beds to get past each other.
The pool was nice and clean and had lots of young people staying there.
Is great if you’re going on a club 18-30 holiday or a group of young people but is a bit of a stroll into Magaluf which we spent most of our time.
Palma Nova beach is very near and was gorgeous!

Went to majorca in June 2008 with my twin sister, both 22. Went from the manston airport in kent for the first time and have to say i was abit worried about i dunno being left on our own but when you arrived there, the rep was really helpful and answered any questions we had. We stayed at the don bigote hotel in palma nova. The hotel was clean and have a friendly lively atmosphere, only thing is it could do with updating but who cares really. The location was amazing, there was lots to do and you could never get bored. Lots of shops and bars and the beach just round the corner from the hotel. There was a bus shop about 2 minutes away from the hotel which will take you to all the main attractions. Must admit didnt try out the taxis in the area so i can't comment on that. Could not fault the location, perfect for anyone. Loved it! Went on a few excursions, they were alot of fun and a good way to meet people. Must say tho' it was abit strange when we were left to find our own way to places, was abit worried that we wouldn't make it in time but everything did go to plan in the end. Went to see the pirate adventure show, that was amazing. It is quite pricey but it is def worth every penny and one of the highlights of my holiday. I would say Magaluff is about 15 - 20 minutes walk from the hotel which isn't too bad, it's a great night out but i would def says its for the younger generation. Drink are not too badly priced, but some bars can be expensive so be careful. There are alot of good places to go tho'. Would recommend it to anyone but in high season would suit young family and people in their late teen and 20's the most. I always said i would never go to the same place twice but had a fantasic holiday and i hope to go again in the future. Maybe would try a different hotel.
