Althought the apartments and pool area were clean I won't be returning and I would certainly not recommend it to any of my friends or family. The owner was out to make as much money as possible, to the extent that when we ran out of toilet paper on the day that our room wasn't cleaned (they don't leave any spare) we were told to go to the supermarket and buy some. There are far nicer places to stay.

After stopping at sandy villas the rooms was very basic indeed with hardly any utensils at all.I did stay in room 13 which felt like being in a prison camp 2 b honest. Has i went alone i know 65 euros is outragous 2 b charged indeed which she gave me no option at all. All sandy says is i want 2 make you happy lol, so longs she is taking your money and charging you 4 what she possibly can she will always smile at you. the olympic reps of vikki and sammy was absolutely brilliant they cannot do enough 4 you indeed. Beware on the last day if u do have your room she will charge you 25 euros and cannot share it will another couple if u get 2 know them while you r there. That is codswallop she is not allowed 2 charge extra for the room that day plus if shes knows you are sharing a room and says she will get fined in sandys words 3000 euros for having extra cases in there room that is also codswallop she is very money orientated so beware the pool was the best thing there. that was my experience just telling the truth so beware

I've just returned from a week spent at Sandy's Villas in the resort of Perissa on the island of Santorini. This accommdation is about 5-10 minutes walk from local shops, resturants and bus stops. The beach is a bit further on and it is very true that the sand does get very hot. The accommodation itself is very clean and attractively decorated and although very basic in terms of cooking utensils that are provided, I found these to be adequate. Sandy's also has a swimming pool which was well maintained along with the poolside toilets. There were plenty of sunbeds available for use by the pool. There is also a snack bar where drinks and food were available all day long.
Sandy herself welcomed guests as they arrived and there was a welcome party at lunchtime the day after arrival for those who wished to attend. Fans and a safe were available and we were charged 35 euros for one fan and the safe. This seemed reasonable. Sandy came personally to invite us to the weekly Greek night that she holds.
Our Olympic Holidays rep., Vicki, put the information pack under our door as we didn't attend the welcome party and this proved very useful.
The one thing that I did find off putting was the notice that told guests not to bring their own food or drink to the pool area.
Of the area, I would say that it is both quiet and lively, depending on which part you are in.
We visted Fira, which is the capital of Santorini. For this reason it is quite a busy place but there are quiet places to stroll around which are away from all the shops. There are organised trips to various places on the island and if you want to visit the volcano this is the only way you will get there. But be warned, if you go to Oia at the end of the volcano trip, there are only two ways up from the port. Mule or on foot. It is quite a hike up the cliff and my advice would be to ensure that you are wearing adequate footware, wear a hat and have plenty of drinking water. It's worth it once you get to the top. Oia is stunning and watching the sunset is quite beautiful. Oia is also a lovely place to walk around in it's own right and worth a trip just for that.
All in all it was a lovely holiday and I would recommend Sandy's Villas which is overlooked by Mesa Vouno which I found quite stunning, especially in the early morning when the sun appeared from behind it.

there is a lovely pool area...
sandy obviously splashed out for the pool area..
probably explains the high prices for the food and drinks!!
rooms are boiling, you definitely need a fan.
lots of ants in the room..plus a few hidden spiders in the cupboards!
cleaned everyday except sunday, towels changed twice.
shower and kitchen facilities weren't fantastic.
rooms extremely basic.
but thats just a typical greek holiday!
overall, we did have a lovely time.
can't really grumble when we payed as little as we did!
definitely advise the volcano, hot springs and sunset trip.
and the forum on the beach front serves a fantastic carbonara!!

My 15 year old daughter and I went on our first holiday abroad on our own this year.We were a little anxious at first but as the holiday went on we soon met some really lovely people.Sandy Villas is a very friendly place, with maid service every day except Sundays.Sandy and Vangellis (her 6 year old son) were lovely people and my daughter was soon 'adopted ' by Vangellis- all in tow with her Nintendo!!! The pool is a good size and there were mainly plenty of sunbeds. The apartments are in an ideal place situated within a 5 min walk to the black sandy beach and plenty of tavernas. The Acropolis was the first place we ate and the food was lovely giving a spectacular wiew of the beach and the surroundings. There ar horse riding facilities in the village to my daughters joy.She and another boy had an hour and a half for32 euros and thouroughly enjoyed herself galloping along Perissa Beach with all holiday makers and the locals 'jeering' them along. The weather was extremely hot at times ad therefore the 40mile 'breeze' is very welcome. The lady in New York New York was very friendly and spoke about Perissa with a passion. The food here is very good ,however we were not impressed with the clealiness of the large pool so we did not try this.(This is the local water park for 7euros (if you use the slidex3) or 5 euros not to.Xania serves a lovely meal the swordfish especially. We travelled on the local bus to Fira. That was lovely. We went at 7 (as the sunsets 8.10) This is a must for you to see and then have meal in one of the rock face restaraunts. This was amazing experience watching the cruise liners come in and the small trawlers fetching their catch in for the local restaraunts.Fantastic.To give more away would take me forever, however if myself and my daughter enjoyed ourselves as our best holiday in 15+ years then Santorinni and Sandy Villas say something.

Good very clean basic accomodation. Unfortunately unaware when booking that a wedding party of 40 would takeover for the week - general restrictions are negotiable and consideration for 'other' guests is abandoned for a price! The location is good being slightly away from the main resort but easily walkable. Do try the walk up to Old Thera -well worth it and easier than you think, but before 9am! TAKE a fan as Sandy charges exorbitant prices for everything - 50 Euros for a week for fan and safe! We took a £10 fan and it proved fine as windows can be left open despite what you are told. Also NO mosquitos as can be windy and there's no natural water areas on the island for them to breed!! Sandy has moneymaking to a fine art but remains friendly and polite. Recommend Taverna Kalimera on the Beach Road - efficient and great food! Bakery next to the Coop is great - the owner is 'old Greece'!

We have just returned from staying in Sandy Villas (29th July - 12th August). Santorini is a beautiful island full of places to visits and has a calmness about it that makes you relax from the moment you get off the plane. Sandy Villas is lovely a small complex with a good size pool. We stayed in the bungalows and at this time of year you are grateful for the fans we did need two, one for each room but if you come away at this time of the year you have to expect it. The apartments are well maintained and thoroughly cleaned. The kitchens are basic but we eat out so it is not a problem. We never had a problem getting sun beds no matter what time we went down which is unusual. Sandy the owner is a lovely lady and nothing is too much trouble, you have a problem she sorts it. We had no hard sell from her at all, we went to the BBQ night she does on a Thursday and it was great fun, food was good, we had plenty of wine and we met some lovely people. Sandy and her family are what makes this place if anyone has a bad word for her then it is them at fault, my daughter wanted to take her home with us and her little son.
We did the sunset cruise and the volcano cruise, which are a must you'll never forget Santorini once you see the fantastic sunset over the sea. We did book them through Vikki the Olympic rep and they are a little bit dearer than doing it yourself but we feel happier doing it through the reps as more comeback if there are problems. Vikki was fantastic very friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble.
Places to eat that are fab Cyclades, Mei Tai (chinese), Atlantis, which was my favourite, and Acropolis. We did try others, which were good, but these I found best. The restaurants on the beach are very good so don't just stick to the main road ones.
If you are thinking of getting married in Santorini I would definitely do it, we meet several couples who were getting married or guests at wedding and all raved about it the photos we saw were spectacular and it nearly made me want to get married again. We all felt very sad when we left and we all would go back tomorrow, we want to see more of the world but I have a strong feeling we will go back.

Santorini is a fantastic Island and you will not be dissapointed with it's beauty.
We were staying at the Sandy Villas which was clean and quite spacious with a spiral stair case leading to our bedroom. We had a room over looking Mount Vouno which was spectacular and in a moment of madness we decided to climb it.
On the top of Mount Vouno you will find Ancient Thira which the holiday representative failed to mention.
Once you reach the top you will have great views of Kamari and Perissa as well as viewing the ancient city.
Sandy runs the family business very well and tries to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing holiday as well as trying to get you to spend your euros over her bar.
We tried her weekly BBQ which cost us 16 euro each with plenty of food but a bit stingy with the wine.
Needless to say we had a good time but once was enough!
Do not come home without trying Gods Garden and the Cyclades. In these Tavernas you will find good rustic homemade Greek dishes.
Other places to try are the Volcano and the Acropolis on the beach front.
If you don't want to hire a car there is a good bus service with air conditioned coaches running every half hour to Fira and from there you can go on to Oia which is a little gem with lots of photo opportunities to be had.
We booked the Sunset cruise with our rep and this cost 45 euro each and included a lovely buffet with wine.
All in all we ha a lovely holiday and have rated this an 8 but would probably rate lower if we were in one of the bungalows which i am told get extremely hot especially at night.

We enjoyed our holiday to Santorini and Sandy Villa's.
It is a family run business and Sandy makes it her priority to ensure you have a good holiday as well as trying to get you to spend your Euro's in her bar.
In our first week Sandy pushed her weekly BBQ on to us and as she came to the door with her son Vangellis who is 6 we felt it was difficult to refuse, that said there was plenty of food which all came at once but they were a tad stingy with the wine.
We had a fantastic room with a pool view and looked out onto the spectacular Mount Vouno which we decided to climb in a moment of madness.
At the top of the mountain you will find Ancient Thira and take in spectacular views of Kamari and Perissa.
The tour operators fail to mention this in their blurb as they would rather you went on their trips.
We did book on to the sunset cruise which will cost 45 euros and was well worth it with a lovely buffet and wine included.
Do not come home without trying Taverna's Gods Garden and the Cyclades. You will find good home made Greek dishes at affordable prices.
We also enjoyed a couple of Tavernas on the beech front one being the Acropolis and the Volcano.
The bus service is very good with air conditioned coaches that go to Fira every 30 minutes and from there you must change for Oia which is an absolute Gem.
You will not be disapointed with Santorini or Sandy Villas.

We have just returned from one weeks holiday at sandy villas. We found it to be extremely clean, which was my main concern. The rooms were cleaned every day except sunday. The self catering equipment would not have been adequate if we had wanted to cook but for a family of 5 adults it cost us approx 50 euro's for an evening meal so cooking was not considered. Sandy did not give us the hard sell on fans and safety deposit boxes. As we had 2 apartments we declined one safe which was no problem. She recommended us to try just one fan in each apartment and if this was not enough to go back to her. This was enough and sleeping with the fan on was very comfortable. The cost of this was 65 euros which included 2 fans, 1 safety deposit box and 6 bottles of water.
The pool was extremely clean at all times including the toilets. There always seemed enough sunbeds to go around, whether we arrived at the pool area at 9am or 3pm. We were told Sandy would get more beds if needed but this was never put to the test.
Sandy and her family were very helpful and hopeful that we would have a good holiday.
There are plenty of places to eat out along the main road, which is a short walk away from the villa, and also along the seafront.
It is at times windy which was a welcome relief when the heat was getting too much. I was concerned reading earlier reviews that we would be pestered by cats as I am not a cat lover. We did have a cat outside our apartment as the previous occupiers had been feeding it. It did not bother us and once it realised no food was coming from us left us alone.
We would definately consider going back to Santorini and also Sandy Villa's.

I tend to agree with some of the people who have given the higher ratings. I would have considered a higher score though if the rooms had been air conditioned and it was a bit closer to the beach......but for £271 for a week's stay, who am I to complain?
I agree totally with previous reviewers who have commended the cleanliness of the hotel (rooms, pool area etc..). The place is absolutely spotless! The pool is one of the best I have seen on my travels (Greece, Italy & Florida included) and there seem to be a lot more sunbeds and sunshades available since earlier reviews. You don't need to be up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed. We found that we could get one quite easily around 9.30-ish. However, we found on the Tuesday (our last day) that there seemed to be more people around. This may have something to do with early arrivals adding to people who are waiting around for their bus to the airport.
A couple of earlier reviewers were not happy with what they perceived to be a hard sell on the room fans and safety deposit boxes. I didn't think it was too bad. We were offered two fans per room and a safe in each, but went with one fan and a safe and it cost us 39 euros per room (less than 6 euros per day, per room). Sandy also offers 6 litre bottles of water delivered to the room for 3 euros, which didn't seem a bad deal until we spotted 6 litre bottles for 1.50 euros in the supermarket.
On to Sandy and the family. We found them to be very friendly and extremely helpful. Sandy owns another property on the Beach (Blue Bay Palace) where her son Lefteris works. Her youngest son Vangelis (6) is also being groomed in the hotel business and helps out around the bar. He is an absolute gem!
If you ask Sandy, she will give you a card to present at the Blue Bay Palace and you can use the sunbeds there for free (there is a charge normally of 10 euros per day for two beds and an umbrella). They also offer a very welcome bar service to the beach where the odd frosty Mythos comes in very handy during the afternoon.
Of the tavernas recommended by earlier reviewers we found that God's Garden was the best. This is just off the first main road on a side road that runs down to the beach. I must admit though, that it didn't look too promising when we first went in. There were two dogs lounging around and about half a dozen cats roaming around. It didn't seem to be that clean either.....but don't let that put you off, because the food was superb!! Try the mixed grill...excellent value at 7.50 euros.
Also, try the bakery by the Co-op at least once. We got 4 pastries and a couple of cakes for breakfast and it only came to about 9 euros. Everything we tried was delicious.
All in all, a very good and relaxing holiday with seven days of unbroken sunshine. A word of warning though, apparently Santorini is known as 'The Windy Island' and during our week it was gusting at around 40 miles an hour!!

Positive:
Nice clean rooms, lovely, clean pool and clean area (both pool and bar). Ideally situated, far enough away from the main bit where the bars and restaurants to be quiet but close enough to be able to stroll there of an evening. Was also very good of Sandy to come round and personally welcome us to the apartments. She did make us feel very welcome though and when our boat trip got cancelled on the Monday due to the weather (which was disappointing because it was my birthday), she did her best to get us happy and cheery.
Negative:
Sandy is a very good at making money and keeping it! During our welcome, she asked us if we wanted fan, safe and water - then held out her hand for the 38 euros. We were expecting to pay this having read reviews elsewhere, but at least let us unpack. A fan arrived and I think it would have been more efficient to hire someone to fan us, the fan even on full speed blew as much as a blow as a fly's fart! There were no mosquito screens so we had to have the shutters closed as we were on the ground floor and this made the room quite stuffy. The food and drink was quite expensive for what you got ie snack, wine etc and the Barbecue Night we felt was a bit of a rip off. 16 Euros each and it was billed as a traditional Greek BBQ night - it consisted of Greek Salad, Chips, Dolmades, Tomatoballs, Tzatziki and burnt Souvlaki, we think it might have been pork! No other meats. Oh and a litre carafe of wine between 4. 22 people paying 16 Euros ahead with that sort of fare - no wonder Sandy was happy the next day. We didn't like to risk asking if we could have some toilet roll when they didn't replace the empty rolls saying it would probably be 2 Euros a roll. Instead we nipped down to the local supermarket and bought a couple of rolls ourselves.
Towels - now we were only the for one week and heard that most people got their towles changed each day, however, we were not told that to have them changed, we had to leave them on the bed. We like most people hung them up which meant they couldn't get changed. Just as well really that we didn't leave our wet towels on the bed as the didn't change the bottom sheet once while we were there.
