Had a very enjoyable time at the Pelagos, the only grudge i had were the number of Dutch and Germans that put their towels out at the crack of dawn and then didnt use them until later in the morning, asked reception for an early morning wake up call at 5 a.m one morning but... more

Whilst the Pelagos is a lovely place without a doubt, it can hardly be classed as 'self catering'. We had plenty of plates, cups, glasses + a microwave, coffee maker (brand new unused), kettle & fridge, but no cereal/soup/microwave bowls at all so we couldnt use the... more

I rated the Pelagos 10/10 as we had a relaxing week in Kos. The staff were very helpful and kind, the place was very clean and the rooms all you need apart from not having a toaster, which I did add to the comments on the questionnaire when leaving the Pelagos. The pool... more

First off, don’t take any alcohol! It was far cheaper to buy the booze at any supermarket in Kos - the bars in the Pelagos however were very pricey. A shot of Jack Daniels and Coke cost me 7 euros (£5) but you could buy a 1/2 bottle in the little shop next door for 9...... more

Overbooking problems
Be aware that during busy times you may not get the size of room you booked and paid for. As we were a family of 4 adults we made sure we booked a one bedroom apartment ie the bedroom was separate and the apartment is bigger than a studio which is only suitable for a family of 3 or with 2 small children. We were given a studio which was not at all suitable, the so called bedroom was only partitioned off with a mainly glass partition with no privacy either visual or sound. We brought this to the attention of reception who immediately admitted that we didn't have the accommodation we had booked but they were not able to move us to a one bedroom apartment as they were full. We eventually moved into a "proper" apartment 9 days after we arrived. We also found that they were a number of similar problems with other families at the hotel. At the end of the stay the management made a derisiory offer of compensation which we refused and instead settled with Thompsons who were extremely helpful. It was a shame as the hotel otherwise was good, spotlessly clean, pleasant staff (don't know about Management as they didn't deem to talk to us to explain...), good facilities etc.
Loved it in Lambi
Having read the reports on the Pelagos Suites Hotel, and booking last minute, had a fantastic holiday (2nd week in October). The weather can be a bit hit a miss this time of year but there was plenty to do. The hotel is spotless, rooms are cleaned daily (please note you can do your bit for the environment by indicating you do not need bed linen and towels replaced every day), the pool area is clean and very well maintained and going at this time of year there wasn't many children. Staff were friendly from the porter who booked us in at 3.30am to the bar staff. My partner and I prefer to eat out and about so only ate in the hotel once (lunchtime at the poolside bar) but the food was excellent and good value. There is a supermarket under the hotel and one next door so the essentials (tea and coffee) are easily obtained. We went with First Choice who offered a range of activities during the week (a bit pricey - the trip to Turkey through them cost 36 euros - call into one of the boat companies in town and you can get it for 15!). Hiring a push bike is a must to have a good look around - easily done on the day via reception for 2.5 - 3 euros per person - we cycled to Tingaki and Marmari one day and the following day went into Kos Town and out to Pisaldi and onto the thermal springs - take your cozzy for a dip in the warm waters - most of the routes are fairly flat so even if you are not used to lots of exercise (which I am not) it is a pleasant experience. The walk into Kos town is 25-30 minutes (good stride) and buses run regularly from right outside the hotel for 85cents each way although you can get cheaper tickets by purchasing them from the hotel. Our best find was the Taverna next door, the food was excellent and not expensive 30-40 euros with drinks, and we were always looked after by its owner (who has more than a passing resemblance to David Suchet) .All in all an excellent location for those who want peace and quiet most of the time but the odd trip into town is no real hassel for late night bars and clubs
excelent !
What can i say great atmosphere great friendly and polite staff, fun and sun all rolled into one. I went here with my wife in september and the hotel was so relaxing, we just stayed around the pool 6 days out of 7 lol id recommend this hotel to any of my friends and famaly. The only majoy problem i had was when i had to go home i didnt want to lol :) were going back next year as going here is what holidays are ment to be, relaxing!
Absolutely Fantastic.. Don't know how anyone couldn't like!!
I went to the pelagos with my partner, son(16) and daughter(11)we stayed for 2wks and thought it was excellent!! The hotel was lovely and clean and well furnished, beds and towels changed everyday if you required and rooms mopped everyday too!! All the staff were very friendly and helpful ( especaily vasilles he was great!). The actual location was abit out from the bars and restaurants of Lambi and Kos Town but we walked to them nearly every night it was no problem we just got a taxi home only 7 euros. We hired bicycles for 2 of the days (only 10euros per day for 4 bikes) we cycled to Tingaki the 1st day and the next time even further on to Marmari where we found the Go-karting which we all enjoyed. The bike ride itself was great lovely views and a lovely breeze. We also did the day trip to Bodrum it was very hot there but we had a great day lots of goodies to be bought. We ate at the restaurant next door to the pelagos a couple of times we all enjoyed the food there. we also ate at the BLUE PHEONIX on the front at lambi beach, food there was excellent and all the staff very friendly. I can honestly say it was a Fantastic holiday and the Pelagos is the best place i have ever stayed we could not fault it.. I would definately go back there, We really didnt want to come home!!
Loved the Pelagos HOTEL & KOS
We stated at the Pelagos Hotel in Aug 2006 this year and had a great time there. The hotel is great , large swimming pool , jacuzzi , childrens pool , gym , sauna and a good itinery of classes such as water aerobics , polo, quizzes , etc. Breakfast was good (hot) at 4 euros a head....the cooking facilities in the room were fine (except no toaster). The staff are fantastic and bend over backwards at all requests. The hotel is located right nex door to a supermarket which is so handy and there is a bus directly o/s the hotel into kos town (approx 10 mins away by bus) , you can walk which we did a few times......Buy return bus ttickets from town as will save you a bit of money. The food is gorgeous but very large portions...be warned !!!! Lots of the tourist hire motorcyles, mopeds and quad bikes and normal cycles and ride around the island...Temps were over 35 every day and no rain - yippee !!!!!! People are genuinely really friendly. Kos is a really beautiful island. Must dos :- Therma Hot Springs Boat Trip to Turkey (leather and fashion goods....haggle haggle ) Cruise to 3 aegean sea islands Paradise and Bubble beach Roman Ruins Mini Train Tour from Kos town , approx 4 euros - city tour... STAY AWAY FROM KARDEMENA !!!!!!!! BORING , TRASHY... Must Buys - olive soap , olive oil , body/facial sponge , honey , local herbs and spices, good luck green charm ....blue eye, alcohol really cheap too !!!!! Jack Danields large bottle only 11 euros... Angeline , London
good luck if youve already booked
firstly whatever you do DO NOT BOOK WITH FIRST CHOICE! they lost our luggage and denied responsibility however after a few days without clothes the idiot who was our 'rep' mumbled what sounded like a 'sorry' with pleanty of excuses also once arriving at the tiny cramped kos airport and finding our luggage was not there we tried to seek advice from the rep HOWEVER the 'rep' had left without us stranded in a foreign country we had to pay out for a cab NOT A GOOD START we arrive at the reception of pelagos (over 3 hours after we were supposed to have arrived) to be greeted in total darkness by a grumpy hostile man who must have wanted to save on electricity or something. after being pointed in a rough direction of our apartment by the man we wander around finally finding an apartment with no path leading to it dont worry this was only one of two apartments which had this problem the beach literally cut out feet open at it was stoney with concrete pieces scattered around KOS TOWN IS NOT WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE ESPECIALLY IN THE HEAT however the bus service is very good and is only 85 cents pp one way kos town is just like any other tourist resort in europe a mcdonalds and lots of the same overpriced tourist shops with rude shop owners who either drag you in to the shop or to stalk you practically accusing you of trying to steal boat trips to turkey and other islands recommended doesnt matter what boat you go on go for the cheapest they all go to the same places at the same time anyway dont book any thing with the tour operator EXTREAMLY OVERPRICED AND TALKING OF OVERPRICED THE RESTARAUNT FOOD IS TOO 12 euros just for food and youll just end up having chips every night anyway. i DONT RECOMMEND THE RESTAURANT NEXT TO THE HOTEL EITHER the food made me sick twice after i thought id give it a second chance as food goes eat in kos town its cheaper, better scenery and the variety is vast the maid service at pelagos is good it is every day which can be annoying when you dont know when the maid will arrive also cleaning isnt very thurough just a new sheet and new towells the new sheet is not even put on the bed just left as a folded square on the end of the bed?! if youre looking for this type of holiday you may as well go to the south of france or spain and save time on flights there are plenty of clubs and bars in kos town with a friendly atmosphere so there are lots of teens on thier first holiday alone if going with first chioce take a pillow for the plane they are the worst seats i have ever sat in everybody on the plane was moaning about them no room and stiff and uncomfortable thank god im back home - good luck
Brilliant - Have been two years running now
What a hotel, excellent facilities and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Small complex surrounding the pool/bar area. Good sized restaurant with excellent buffet food service, lots to choose from and different every night. Pool bar open until you drop, then just a small stumble to your bed. Apartments are excellent also, two storey with balconies. Try to get one overlooking the pool though as it is great sitting out at night when the pool is lit up. Not far from Kos town, well within walking distance, although the regular bus stops outside the apartments. Varied entertainment, from quiz night, to comedy show. We even took part in a one hour production of the Lion King with full makeup etc. Weather brilliant of course Will definitely visit again some time in the future
Pelagos = Fantastic!!!
We arrived at the Pelagos at about 4am Kos time, the pool looked beautiful all lit up - it didn't dissapoint the next morning either! Breakfast at 5 Euros and dinner for 10 Euros (buffet style for both) was very good and excellent value. The twin studio room we had was excellent, two large 3/4 size beds, very spacious and clean, and the temperature of the air conditioning (not charged unlike some places we've stopped at) could be controlled by ourselves. Only thing we missed was a kettle. The marble bathroom was the best we've ever had away from home, with a proper shower. The safe was also free. The bar staff were very friendly and liked a bit of banter about the football results and will usually stay up as long as you are ordering drinks (3am for us one night, apparently!!!). Head down for Happy Hour - 2 for 1 cocktails (I reccomend the Tropical). The swim-up pool bar was especially cool! The breeze from the sea made the hotter days much more bearable, although still got a fantastic tan. You can spend your days round the pool (sunbeds seemed available thoughout the day, even though it seemed a busy few weeks) or take a bus trip into Kos (bus-stop just outside our room) and get on a boat, hire quad-bikes (soooo much fun!)... or if you are feeling energetic hire push-bikes from 2.5 Euros! Everyone at the Pelagos is only too happy to help, very friendly and made our holiday one of the best we've ever had! I'd recommend this place to anyone!!
Have to go back
Two families of four went to the Pelagos- Fourteen, Fifteen, Seventeen and Nineteen year olds with their parents. The cleanliness and quality of the accommodation and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were excellent. The standard of service and accommodation in the Pelagos matched our experiences in America. Every day free snacks and melons were served up in the poolside area and at four o'clock complimentary teas were served on the poolside balcony. There were more than enough sun loungers for everyone. You are issued with a token when you arrive which entitles you to a poolside towel which you can change as often as you like - just don't lose your token. These are some of the small touches that sets the Pelagos apart. The bar staff, Vasillis (Bill), Hassan, Seve, Maria, and all the animation staff seemed to always be there and always maintained the traditional greek friendliness. They were great with the teenagers making sure they were made feel special. The receptionists always had a welcoming smile when you approached them. Our accommodation was spacious with a king sized bed in the main bedroom. We had two balconies. Linen was changed every day. We've heard comments about the distance from the Pelagos to Kos town but we walked it at least twice a day. It took about 35-40 minutes and was a nice walk. Outside the hotel there is a cycle path which is about 3 km long. You can hire bikes from the hotel (recommended). It is an ideal island for cycling. As a base for the family the Pelagos was perfect. The hotel is quite quiet but the teenagers would go into Kos town if they wanted lively night life. The taxi ride back was 6 euros. We have already booked to go back next year. The Meiklejohn and Mackin family.
The #1 Hotel in Kos for a large family
My husband & I travelled here with our daughter & our 4 grandchildren after having spent 10 days touring Athens & Sparta. The hotel met all of our expectations and even beyond. It is a perfect spot for R & R . We were here for almost 2 weeks and had the opportunity to visit all the tourist places on the island. Bar none we would only refer our friends to the Hotel Pelagos. The staff was warm & friendly, the rooms immaculate, the amenities excellent & kept very clean. It is short walk to town where all the action takes place or you can ride a bike to town. The view from the rooms alone are worth the 11 hour plane ride it took us to get home to NYC. Very Family Oriented!!!!!!!!!!
