This is by far the worst accomodation we have ever had from Olympic. The bathroom flooded from water backing up in the floor drain, the towel rail had flakes of Chrome falling off , the plaster was missing behind the sink and the sink was loose and some of the grouting was black with dirt.
The pillows smelt of other peoples stale sweat as did the mattress. These type of problems were not limited to our room other Brits had the same or worse. Paxos is superb, Lakka is the place to stay but not in the Amfritriti.

This was our second visit to the Amfitriti and we are booking to return next year.
We had a room up in the top block, I would hardly call it up a mountain and nearly all the Greek Islands are hilly anyway.
Our room was cleaned daily and if I forgot to take our rubbish out with me the cleaners would without fail take it away.
To be fair the cooking facilities are fairly basic but the rooms are converted hotel rooms. Anyway when we are on holiday cooking isn't something we do anyway.
Our room was on the opposite side of the corridor from the back one and I have never seen or heard of any rats in the rooms, although there are a lot on the island.
We found all the staff to be friendly....of course it helps if you make a little effort. I have always found a smile and a good morning goes a long way and when said in Greek goes a VERY long way. Nancy and Marillis are both lovely and if asked will help with any request.
The pool area is small and with a severe water shortage on the Island splashing is frowned upon a) because refilling the pool is costly and b) it means everyone else gets wet. The sea is 20 metres away safe and sandy bottomed. My 16 year old son and I spent many hours splashing and messing away to our hearts content.
Lakka as a resort is quiet and tradtional. There is a wide selection of Restaurants and Tavernas catering for a wide variety of tastes. Our favourites were Nionios, Stasinos Garden and Dionysos usually followed by a trip to the Sweet Gallery for cake or Baklavas. There are a handful of bars and several small shops for provisions also a butchers and several bakers. There are also gift shops.
THERE IS NO ATM IN LAKKA!!! however the Planos office on the harbour offers a cash withdrawal facility for cards.
We visited Loggos and Gaios. Loggos is very small and quaint with some nice little shops. Gaios is positivley bustling in comparison but is really just a larger version of the other 2 villages.
Finally a trip to Anti Paxos is a must. You can book boat trips at any of the travel offices or direct on the harbour sides in Loggos and Gaios.
Paxos is great for those looking for traditional Greece. If you want heaving nightlife or expect everything just so then it is probably not the place for you. Personally I hope Paxs sticks to it's traditions and doesn't go the way of Corfu.

Great time at Amfitriti. Can't quite believe the lies in the last review. Beach was great - very peaceful and the sea was very clear. No rubbish or debris. The rep was very welcoming and not at all rude. Staff were friendly. The rooms were OK apart from the lack of good cooking facilities. But we were eating out anyway so not too bothered.Lakka and Paxos is very peaceful and very chilled. Never felt so relaxed after a fortnights holiday. Plenty of good places to eat and an excellect bakery. Yes there are about 80 steps here but it keeps you fit. All in all a great holiday - I would definately come back.

Rats in the bedroom, Rude aggresive staff, Room fourth building up the mountain, at the back and looked onto, a wall of weeds like sleeping in a dungion, no adjoining rooms for families, children not allowed to splash in the pool, dangerous grids around the pool, had to find alternative accommodation as this was no place to have a family holiday. All around the property including the area around the beach was littered with debris, including building rubble. Brochure pictures very inaccurate, only the top floor on their photo is rooms overlooking the beach all other accommodation are in other buildings further up the mountain. When you visit other beaches close by you realise how dirty the water is on the beach in front of this place. The Rep was utterly appaling, When we found another really lovely place to stay our holiday began.
Lakka itself is beautiful and a great place to visit, There are lovely beaches around the island to visit, fun boat rides to go exploring the island from the sea, the food is great and the fish fresh from the sea. I would visit again but through another tour operator, possibly Planos or Routsis.

The resort of Lakka is a very beautiful setting and I would recommend this to couples of any age looking for a relaxing break but with enough restaurants and bars to try somewhere new each night. The locals are very friendly and the food is of a very high standard. We were disappointed however with the hotel itself. Please dont underestimate the number of steps and the steepness of these to the rooms, the hotel is 3 different buildings on the side of a hill, we were in the top building and we are relatively fit at 30 and our legs ached by the time we reached the room - this is not the hotel for anyone who struggles with shortage of breath or any walking difficulties.
The rooms were cleaned once in the week so they felt dirty for most of the week, the standard of cleaning was also very basic. Accomodation in Greece is always basic but I would regard the upkeep of these rooms as poor, which is a shame as it could have made for a better holiday had more attention been paid to this.
The rooms are also hot and air-con was 10 euros per day which I thought is expensive?
Aside from this I would return to Paxos but not stay at this hotel. There are also fabulous walks around teh island and it i well worth discovering.

Our third visit and we are about to book our fourth. Wonderful views, beautiful (if stony) beach and the most amazing, friendly reception from Nancy and all of her family. The type of holiday to get away from it all.

We would agree to the all the comments all but one. The accomadation was spacious and well looked after. The hospitality from the owners was well above average. We are now very good friends with Nancy. My husband and i Stayed here in August of 2007 and had a wonderful time the views from room 222 was spectacular. We enjoyed it so much we have just booked again to go back on the 21st July 08 for a week to celebrate my 40th Birthday. If I could i would stay for two. We met a great crowd of people there and got on very well and always met up in the evenings to talk about our days activities, which was a great way of finding out all the other things that can be seen or done on the island. we would strongly recommend the tour around paxos and the visit to Anti-Paxos. This was a wonderful trip to see the caves and the immaculae blue waters. You get to dive off the boat on several occasions and stop at Anti-Paxos for lunch and to bathe on the sandy beach. Yes I said Sandy beach. One word of advice take a torch and surfing/beach shoes as getting in and out of the lovely warm see is tricky with the pebbles.

I stayed at the Amfritriti for a week in September 2007. I wanted a relaxing break to celebrate my 50th birthday, and that's exactly what I had. The accommodation was beautiful, with fabulous views over the secluded bay. I couldn't fault the cleanliness (and I'm fussy!) and the personal attention from the owners. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone - I'm trying to book again this year, but the prices have jumped quite a bit for a single traveller. The only reason I gave this a rating of 9 is that a shower curtain would have been helpful, and I did miss having a bath ;(

I would have given this a higher rating if it were not for the steps to and from the room.
I was shocked to read the comments from the person who visited the hotel in September last year, it did not sound like the place we stayed in June.
Our room was kept clean and tidy, the reception greeting was good and Nancy was very nice and most helpful and attentive.
The gardens were well tended and the beach was fantastic, clean and service from Nancy to your sunbed. Of course we had to pay for beds; you have to wherever you go.
We loved the place and have booked to go again in June.

Very scruffy hotel for the star rating of 3 star International and 4 star in Greece
Rooms dirty with months of dirt under the bed and mossie's on the wall flattened and
blood splattered.
Furnishings basic, holes in walls, poor shower and room facilities. Staff are rude and disregard and disrespect you if you dare complain. The pool is dirty and the gardens littered with building rubble and weeds.
Beach is littered with the hotel sun beds which you have to pay for. The management of the hotel keep the bar open till 2 and 3 am in the morning for the ex 18-30 guests to get drunk and noisy, keeping all other holiday makers awake at night. Answer to this is shut the door and stew in the heat or pay for air con and listen to the motor all night.
Out of the 100 hotels or apartments I have stayed in Europe this must be one of the worst. Avoid unless a dirty hotel and drunks are you thing. Don't bother with Olympic holidays either their hotel rep was useless and his only action was to deny that the hotel was poor and protect his close relationship with them.

We have just returned from one weeks holiday and would loved to have been there longer. We were met by the part owner Nancy (who you will always see out and about) at the entrance and straight away made to feel very welcome.
If you want to enjoy your holiday I suggest you start with a cool drink on the patio and spend some time chatting with Nancy where she will gladly take time to teach you any Greek you may wish to know.
With a friendly atmosphere, a beach on the doorstep and easy access to the quiet bars and tavernas we will certainly be returning in the near future.

Paxos is a beautiful island, but, if you look through the brochures, you will see its an expensive one to visit. If you are on a budget you can stay at the Anfitriti (or the Bastas) but you will have to accept a lower standard of accommodation. Its described as self catering but the rooms have been converted from hotel rooms and the facilities are basic, to say the least. They could definitely do with a lick of paint and a good spring clean, baI would suggest you take a travel kettle as there isnt one in the room and boiling a pan of water takes forever. The apartments are about a 5-10 minute walk from Lakka, along a, somewhat, rickety pathway and you will need a torch if you intend to eat out in Lakka in the evening. You then have to negotiate the steps to the room which are steep and, if you are unfortunate to get rain, slippery. The good ,to this is that the views from most of the rooms are wonderful. There is a taverna next to the apartments that serves good food, so you do not need to go into 'town' if you are feeling lazy. Nancy is always willing to rustle up a snack which can be eaten around the pool or taken to your room. She is a sociable and helpul woman who knows the island and is happy to share her knowledge. I first went in Sept 07, for a week, and returned in June 08 for two weeks.
