Beautiful island, beautiful hotel. Clean rooms, large deep pool. Good utility's.
This is a fantastic holiday, I went with a friend and their family and was amazed when I saw the hotel. The air conditioning (extra charge) is amazing and it also keeps the mosquitoes out of the room. The staff there were very friendly and the room was cleaned regularly. The rooms are safe and secure with a fantastic balcony.
The beds are comfortable and clean, it is easy sleep in this hotel. There is a beach within a five minute walk away and all the nearby restaurants serve fantastic food.
Everyday a bus stops nearby offering a journey to a local town which is also an enjoyable visit. There is a local boat-hire shop where you can hire a boat and take it where you desire. There is a local small island "Anti-Paxos" which is an easy journey away to make in a hired boat.
Taxis are easy to reach as they are advertised in payphones (which can be found everywhere and call cards are low cost).
When you look out to the sea, you will instantly see the harbour full of luxury boats as far as you can see.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. We were forced to book at the last minute because the holiday we had booked fell through.
We were put in a tiny room. The walls were damp and the bathroom was indescribably dirty. I had to clean the loo before I could go!
The self catering facilities were tiny, grubby and rusty. The maids did come and “clean” the room but used water so dirty that I had to clean up after them.
The pool was also decidedly murky. On the other hand this holiday did introduce us to Lakka and Paxos which we loved and is relatively unspoiled and beautiful.
We also had a bad experience with an Olympic rep that was very reluctant to give us our money back promptly, when a trip he was supposed to have organised for us, failed to collect us.

We have now been to Paxos twice, the first time 8 yrs ago.
We stayed at the same accommodation which for self catering is very basic. We thought it might have improved a bit, but it hadn’t. There wasn’t even a kettle for boiling water you had to use a pan.
The rest of the complex is fine and the pool is very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly as well.
Our one complaint, which has nothing to do with the accommodation is the price to eat and drink in the resort, which we found to be very expensive. In the tavernas fish was being sold anywhere bet 32 Euros and 48 Euros per kilo added to this you have to pay for salad/veg/chips on top, these were just ordinary tavernas, nothing flashy. There is also a cover charge added.
Drinks we thought were expensive, for a lager and G&T, which is the local gin and tonic, not Gordon’s or Beefeater is was 8-50 Euros.
We have been to a few Greek islands over the last few years and none were as expensive as Paxos, so be warned, if you go take plenty of money. But it is a beautiful and peaceful island.

Paxos is beautiful. Quiet and unspoilt. The Bastas apartments were clean and well kept.
The staff were very helpful, friendly, and quick to sort any problems. People commented that the accommodation was basic but when on holiday what else do you expect in a self catering room.
The pool was in the hill side and made for the perfect way to spend the day relaxing. We had a wonderful time and wished we could stay longer.
Our only complaint was the appalling Olympic rep who was very negative and unhelpful when our luggage was lost and with the ferry transfers from Corfu. We had to sort it ourselves. She had a way of making you feel guilty for everything and was not prepared to take the responsibility she should have as a representative of Olympic.
We are going back in September but not with Olympic!

Very basic apartment but lovely and quiet! I could actually sleep. But lots of mosquitoes, so make sure you take a good repellent.
Paxos is known for having lots of mosquitoes!
Beautiful scenery from the beach, would definitely go again.

We stayed at the Bastas in early June, we had prebooked a front room but when we arrived we were allocated a room which was similar to the black hole of Calcutta. The Olympic rep was insultingly unhelpful with the charm of a rattlesnake. Our flight from Manchester was delayed for over 8 hours with no explanation or apology from Olympic, we had to stay overnight in Corfu as we missed the last ferry. We love Lakka itself but it has gone considerably expensive compared to Corfu. The rooms at the Bastas are extremely basic and not too clean (only 2 cleaners for all those rooms). Towels are changed twice weekly and the beds once weekly. The beds are something else and you will suffer from what we now call Bastas Back!!
