Just got back from 2 weeks at Lara in Lourdas & would have no hesitation in staying there again in the future.
The staff were excellent-very helpful and the accommodation was better than other places we have stayed in Greece. The apartments were cleaned daily ( except Saturdays) & bedding changed at least every other day. We would recommend the weekly BBQ as good value for money.
The pool was kept clean & plenty of sunbeds and shade if you wanted it. You do need to be quite fit to manage all the walking as the trek down to the beach , whilst only a short one, is not to be recommended for anyone with walking difficulties...in fact a lot of the island is the same so car hire is very important.

Fantastic location for a quiet holiday for the "fit" Stunning views from the apartment balcony across to Zante - overlooking olive groves.
This family run hotel was spotlessly clean and bedding was changed daily.
Initially the family appeared to be very reserved but were extremely helpful and we were made very welcome.
The pool was well maintained with a covered veranda for those wishing to be out of the direct sun and heat.
We had such a laugh and found a range of places to eat to match our budget.
We loved it so much that we are returning to the Lara this Summer 2005.

Excellent relaxing holiday. Rooms and pool very clean - excellent cleaning staff (our room was cleaned by 10am every day). It is on a steep hill and some distance from the best restaurants and bars (try the Klamatis down the hill of the sea front - excellent fresh food and also Spiros up the hill - great value). Both lower and upper Lourdas are pretty quiet.
If you enjoy reading by the pool, relaxing and sunbathing then this is a great little hotel. The owners are a bit grumpy but you get used to them and they add to the holiday experience! We had a mini-earth quake whilst we were there - which added to the fun.
