Fiona Hotel Apartments

Any one who wants "THAT" holiday, well look no further! Meih is the "hostess with the mostess" nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble, and what a nice lady as well! Of course there are horror stories about THE HILL, but if you tackle it the right way there is no problem, go down in the morning stay around the beach all day, then in the evening walk back up, stopping at taberna's for a swift one or two!
The Rep seemed to be in cognito with the car hire man (English one) which was a pitty, they organised their meetigs and events in other places, away from Fiona Appartments (must have been getting freebies)
We are trying to go back this year but I thik it's too late to book, Meih doe's tell you to rebook early, and she is not just trying to fill up for the next season! she dosn't have too! we cannot praise this woman enough, just on a last note, she even told us about the early bus connections. What a holiday! My wife and I returned from our fantastic holiday in The Fiona not only with tans but memories of a great place. The welcome we received from Mehi was wonderful -who must be the hardest working hotelier in the world!
From the first day to the last of our two week stay we were spoilt. The atmosphere around the pool, both day and night was great without being over the top. This was helped by the great crowd who stayed there the same fortnight. This has to be the best hotel on the island and is well worth a visit. A great pool, great food, great host, great holiday.
Away from the hotel the rest of the island is just as good but take your driving licence and hire a car to explore the island. It’s cheaper that the trips and well worth the money.

My wife and I have just returned from a fortnight in the Fiona apartments, absolutely the best holiday we have had so far. The overall 2 weeks were made all the more special by the other residents, but topped off by the warmest welcome from Mihi, the Wonderwoman who runs the place. To top it all, her abilities in the kitchen rival any of the local Tavernas I would not hesitate in recommending a stay here, and when you do, try her extensive Menu there is more to be had than on the printed menu, just ask and she will make it for you, and yes, those burgers are that good!!!.
Kefalinia is a paradise in the Ionian Sea, unspoilt by tourism but geared up to cope. A restful yet interesting island, with many hidden jewels, well worth a visit, at least once!

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday and cannot rate the accommodation too highly. Everything was perfect - the resort, hotel, staff and guests.
What an Airport though!!
It is a trek to the beaches but well worth the effort. The scenery is stunning with mountains overlooking a beautiful bay. There are a number of local tavernas where the food is excellent and indeed the food at the Fiona Appartments is excellent too.
It is a quiet resort but well worth visiting.

My wife and I have just returned after spending two fantastic weeks at the Fiona.
Lourdas is a breath of fresh air in comparison to many resorts. It's quiet, but has an excellent choice of top quality tavernas nearby, as well as at least three lovely beaches.
To get around the island we hired a 125cc trail bike from Rent-a-Bike (who I would also recommend) . This was cheap and an ideal way to see the many beauty-spots Kefalonia has to offer (don't always take the rep's advice - it can be a biased and financially founded).
The Fiona apartments are clean and exceptionally well run by a very lovely lady, Mehi.
Nearly all apartments have a breath-taking sea view over-looking the island of Zante.
The pool is well kept and cleaned regularly.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Fiona - I intend on returning; the sooner the better.

Lourdas is a small resort on the south of the Island of Kefalonia. It is quiet and peaceful when we were there in May. The beach is about 2km from the Fiona Hotel and is up a quite steep path.
However there are hidden treasure beaches which are completely secluded just a short walk away - I will let you discover them for yourselves to keep them that way!
The island of Kefalonia itself is a treasure - it is home to the mountain of Einos which you can either walk up (take lots of water) or drive up in a 4x4. There is the St Gerassimo monastery and the wine tasting.
You will need a hire car to explore the island fully. The only remaining town of Fiskcardo in the very north is the only town that was not destroyed in the earthquake and as such still maintains its original Greek charm - a definite must visit.
This was a great holiday - the owner of the Fiona hotel was superbly friendly and the accommodation sea view was amazing. Perfect for couples.
