Great apartment we stayes in No 21 two bedroomed bungalow. Two large bedrooms, everything you need in the kitchen and keept spotlessly clean. The family running the apartments were very friendly and helpfull. There were always plenty of sunbeads by the pool and a nice pool bar with limited snacks. The view was fantastic because the apartments were at the top of a very steep hill, we hired a car so this was not a problem, a taxi up the hill from Lassi where all the restaurants and mini markets were was 5 euro's. The island is very green and has some great beaches, the one's in Lassi were very crowded, if you have a car there are a lot of great beaches which were quite but had all the amenities. Overall one of the best holidays we've had, we booked with Olympic and our rep India was very helpfull and informative about the island.

Great views, clean accommodation, nice little bar, but outstanding people that run Leftis village. this was my 2nd time visiting Leftis and going back again this year. I met a couple from Canada who had been there 7 years running. I couldnt fault the place at all.

just returned from Kefalonia, Sunday 21st September 2008. Stayed at the Lefteris Village apartments, in Lassi. Apartments are very clean, looked after by a non-english speaking cleaner, who is a vision in Lycra!!!!!!!!!! how anyone could clean apartments in the soaring heat wearing lycra is beyond me!!! Owner Cheryl is friendly and the pool bar is very well stocked. The views are stunning, especially if you get a thunder storm, which unfortunately we did on the sunday the beginning of our 2nd week. sadly the week continued to be cloudy and cold, until ofcourse the day we left, when the sun shone brightly. The walk into Lassi from the apartments is awful, downhill to the shops but dreadful climb back to apartments, especially in the heat. The beach- long beach is wall to wall sunbeds, we hired a scooter and headed off towards the airport, there we found a great small beach, but as it on the end of the runway, was on some days very noisy. Eat at the Diana in Argostolli, very nicely presented good food. Mr. Grillo in Argostoli was ok too, but not a lot of variety. All in all a good holiday, Kefalonia a beautiful island, but watch out it has become very expensive, it cheaper to eat out here in England.

Just returned from two Wonderful weeks at Lefteris Village in Lassi Kefalonia. Some of the most stunning views can be observed from this fantastic hill top location. Its only a 15minute walk into the town of Lassi which is full of bars and restaurants, all reasonably priced and not at all noisy. A 15 minute walk in the opposite direction takes you to the main town of Argastolli which is more lively with bars and clubs by night! Its worth getting a cab back from both locations as its quite hilly, although local cabs will only charge you 5 / 6 euros.
We had a party of 30 people staying with us for our wedding, which took place in a small chapel overlooking the sea about a 10 minute drive from Lefterris village, we then all returned back to Lefteris Village where we held our reception, on the sun terrace next to the pool and bar. The staff and owners at Lefteris could not have been more helpful, they helped us organise catering, florists, cars and much more for our speacial day. Their first class attention to your needs while staying at this location is unparralelled. It's like staying as a guest at someone's house without having any intrusion. If its a family holiday with or without the kids that your looking for then this is the holiday for you, you will be gaurenteed a stress free holiday if you choose to stay with the good people of Lefterris village.

After holidays half and full board we decided the best way is self catering.
This year we visited Kefalonia and we stayed at the Lefteris Village Lassi
I did not care for the resort of Lassi but I did like this accommodation.
So what did I like about this place Hospitality is number one here with the owner Lefteris is available every day as well as the manager he also visits the bar from about 8pm until midnight not bad for a man that seldom takes a drink but he feels it is important to be their for his guest. This is family run and the new bar is run by his three daughters. I have to admit I have seldom met a man like Lefteris and we soon became friends. All the staff speaks good English with the exception of the cleaner who is great and responds to Hi and a smile I have to say she is the best cleaner I have known in my years of holidaying. The pool is immaculate. I have to be honest I cannot fault Lefteris Village. If we do return we will stay at Lefteris Village.

Despite an hour or so delay with the outward flight, the journey was quite pleasant and quick once we were in the air.
Lefteris Village is lovely for what you are paying. The apartments are small but clean, although our bathroom smelt as there was no window and we had to hold the shower head as we could not attach it to the wall, but there was plenty of hot water. Unfortunately we were in apartment 1 with a noisy group of people in the bungalow next door but otherwise it was very peaceful.
The views are spectacular. If you can get up early enough to catch the pre-sunrise sky its well and truly worth it. Cheryl and her daughter are extremely friendly and helpful. They keep a supply of books and magazines left by previous visitors if you run out of something to read.
We would definitely recommend a car. No just because it is a steep climb from Lassi or Argostoli but because the rest of the island is absolutely beautiful and it would be a shame to miss it, particularly if you like to find beaches that are not on a map.
Also, there is more to Lassi that it first appears. We had trouble finding the beaches which again are not easily accessible if you do not like walking, but the restaurants were extremely good.
We thoroughly enjoyed are holiday and have every intention of returning to Kefalonia.

The views from the Lefteris Village apartments are fantastic. We were fortunate to be allocated the detached bungalow which had a lovely self-contained balcony.
I agree with previous reviews that a car really is a necessity if you visit in July/August as the walk back up from Lassi is a not so bad in the evening but I would not attempt it in the hot sun.
Also, there are so many lovely places to visit that it is worth hiring a car.
The apartments are kept clean and are reasonably well equipped and linen is changed regularly. Air conditioning is essential in July/August but it is an extra expense. We were charged 60 euros per week for the bungalow as it was larger. I agree with the comments about sun beds and umbrellas, there should be more of them.
There is no shade around the pool area so we had a swim and then went back to our balcony. Cheryl, the owner was very friendly and helpful as was India, our rep.

Just as we expected although we did somehow think the beach would be nearer just from the view in the brochure - our mistake! The walk down and up the hills is pretty hard going unless you're a mountain goat.
We decided for 5 Euros each way, a taxi is a pretty good option :) Cheryl was very friendly and happy to call a taxi from her home, tell you about events happening on the island or good places to eat (and those to avoid mainly due to price and in Fiscardo!).
Air conditioning was (we considered) very expensive at 40 Euros per week, especially as it all switched off 1 minute after you removed your 'card' from the slot when leaving the room - had it stayed on permanently once you have paid, it would have been worthwhile.
We were also under the impression that we had to choose which unit we wanted activated (in our room or where my daughter was sleeping) and thus her area was very hot always until the last day when I randomly aimed the control handset at her unit and it came on and worked! Oh how we laughed...not!
I think being asked "which unit would you like switched on" was what made us think there was a way to only switch one on...live and learn. Pool nice and did have a shallow end. We discovered the Olive Garden a few minutes away where you could get a lunchtime sandwich and some ice creams which was a god-send.
Basic facilities but functional although the flickering light in the bathroom made it feel like you were in a run-down disco whilst showering in the world's smallest (I kid you not - I've seen bigger things in the smallest caravan) shower.
I think the electrics in the bathroom left a bit to desire. Clean, linen changed twice a week and cleaned thoroughly once a week.
Rather annoying sensors on the balcony door (we were in No. 12) which meant that you had to prise it closed with your fingernails to get the air con working whilst you sat on the balcony.
Could do with at least another 12 sun beds and probably half as many umbrellas - one family who were there our first week 'claimed' about 10 sun beds (leaving about 6 for everyone else) every morning with their towels then proceeded to not appear until lunchtime - I was tempted to throw the towels into the road after a couple of days but fortunately they left!
Everyone else was 'normal' about sitting around the pool.

My husband and myself have visited this lovely island in true Greek as much as true Greek can be now a days, a number of times. This is due to the lack of clubs etc.
The Lefteris Village has a new revamped pool which is safer for children. And the owner Cheryl was friendly and helpful, and will allow you to phone for taxis from her room at no extra cost.
We stayed in the detached bungalow, which was brilliant for us in a large party of three adults and two children aged 8 and 7. This meant we had our own space, and did not infringe on others space.
Cleaner was in fully once a week. Towels changed twice a week. Bedding changed once a week. Accommodation was basic, but clean. Views beautiful in that inland across Argostoli capital and the river.
It is true that access is very steep, and the area is all hills so unless you are avid walkers, a car is a must, as public transport is not recommended, and taxis at 5 Euros to the capital Argostoli is your only option. Local supermarkets are a 20 min walk up and down hills, to Lassi village.
The apartments also on site I had a look at and they are also basic, consisting of studio types and two bed roomed types. All basic, with kitchenette, kettle, sink, cupboards, basic pans, cutlery, toaster, fridge with small freezer section. Bathroom is like an en-suite with shower (no bath).
Overall good value for money.
Please remember Kefalonia Airport is deliberately designed to discourage mass tourist industry as it tends to be a midclass tourist go area overall. My husband and me intend to live 5 months of the year when we retire this lovely Ionian Island is beautiful.

We have just returned from Kefalonia and stayed in the Lefteris apartments. I had read the review before going so I was expecting a steep hill.
The apartments are very basic (especially cooking facilities) but they have everything you need. When you see the view from your balcony and the pool you will be overwhelmed, it is amazing.
Cheryl who looks after the site is lovely, she cannot do enough for you whatever the time, day, or night.
We went with Olympic holidays and I was very impressed with them also. India our representative was lovely, very friendly, and helpful.
As the brochure says car hire is recommended, not only for getting back up the steep hill but just to explore the lovely island. Everywhere seemed so easy to find and the views when driving around the mountains were amazing.
People did stay there without car hire and said they were fine, it is just trying to walk up the hill in the hot weather that is the problem. Most of them just got a taxi for 5 Euros.
The car hire only cost us £100 for the week - we just got the cheapest car with air conditioning and it was fine. We only used 30 Euros of petrol for the week and we went everywhere.
If you go into Argostoli you must eat at the Captains Table, the food is excellent. It was recommended to us and we went on our last 2 evenings because we were so impressed - Mixed grill and rump steak especially.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and I would not hesitate to go back to these apartments. I would definitely hire a car again. You have to have a car to spend the day at Mertos beach - which is a must.

We have just had 2 great weeks in Kef, returned 9th Aug. Yes it’s in an elevated position. You wouldn't get the brilliant views otherwise would you? Lassi 10 mins walk as is Argostoli if you take the short cut down to the Hospital, then left and 2nd right straight down to the harbours edge and bridge.
Get a taxi back, 5 euro from anywhere and you’re on holiday aren't you! Sheets and towels changed 4 times so 5 sets over the holiday period and bins emptied daily. Oh, and the cleaner Hoovers like her life depends on it. Owner Cheryl cannot be more helpful, she will try to do anything for anyone.
Maybe its because we've been to Greece on many occasions so we know what to expect, like the musky smell from wooden kitchen cupboards and drainage that works slower than the taps/shower output. To us its part of the fun and much better than being anything like the typical Brit egg & chip brigade that have ruined so many other holiday destinations. Looking forward to returning to Kef again in October.
