We went to Bruges with Riviera Travel...

We went to Bruges with Riviera Travel which I found in an advert through the Times newspaper. It was for a 4-day, 3-night trip to Bruges on Eurostar and included transfers, a trip to Ypres and the services of a tour guide. I was a bit concerned that it would be boring and full of old people, but it was excellent.
Everything was well organised, the hotel was good and very convenient, the guide knowledgeable and friendly and you could do your own thing if you wanted. The price was reasonable and did not go up in school holiday time. I would certainly recommend this company and the city, which was beautiful.

The Academie Hotel was very well presented and modern the rooms are simple and very clean some of the rooms have a small balcony for the smokers as they are now all non-smoking. There is a large choice for breakfast on a help yourself basis.
Bruges is a lovely place with a lot of things to see there are a wide variety of shops around and it is very easy to get lost as we found out! The Belfry Tower is a must it has a beautiful view when you make it to the top. The horse and carriage tours are very worthwhile as well. The canal tours are very relaxing although very cold in winter. You can find some great restaurants around which offer tourist menus we went to the same restaurant both nights they had a 3 course meal with a small choice of main meal for just under 14 euros per person and the portions were very good as was the food.
We really enjoyed our holiday in Bruges and would highly recommend it.
