do not book this hotel!!!

The staff, especially at the reception, were very impolite, ignorant and unfriendly!!!
To our questions, they answered in a very rough way.
The common answer of the staff was: "Do what you want, we don't care, if you pay everything" --> thus we had the impression that, they hate questions and don't want to answer them!
We booked a room with seaview, but we didn't get it.
At the check in we had to wait about one hour!

4 star??? Not with the Annex!

We stayed as a party of four 50-60 year olds. The hotel main building was a delight and well worthy of the 4 stars they have applied for. Unfortunately we stayed in the Annex. This is 200 yds down the main street, located in a courtyard behind 2 shops. This meant a trek across a busy road to get to any of the hotel amenities, no fun in wet swimming costumes(unless you changed in the toilets!) The annex consists of approx 20 rooms and if you book a standard room there is a reasonable chance you will be allocated a room there for at least one night. The only way I can see to avoid this is to upgrade your room booking. If you have an upgraded room or you are lucky enough to get a room in the main building you will have a fantastic holiday. If not - be prepared to be stared at as you walk back to your room! Not what I expect from a 4 star hotel.

Please get rid of the Annex and I will certainly go back and have a great time.

Just arrived back from one week at this hotel and all I can say is it was fabulous. The hotel throughout was spotless. All staff were lovely and nothing was a problem to them.Stayed their with my 2 children aged 10 and 2 and they were also well catered for in every aspect. Our room was spacious and clean overlooking the pool area.Took beach towels but needent have bothered as the hotel provided them.Easy access throughout hotel with my pushchair.Very child friendly. We will definately be going back next year.Stayed in Stalis every year for the past4years and this hotel is by far the best.I honestly do not have any complaints at all and thats a 1st for me.

A great holiday, the hotel is at the moment being refurbished it still looks a bit clinical. We were told a second stage will commence when the hotel closes for the winter period. Rooms of a reasonable size with balcony, ours had a corner bath but you have to be a bit of an athlete to get in and out and there does not seem to be any extraction in the bathroom.
There are three large pools 1 indoor and 2 outside plus a smaller kiddies pool, all are kept very clean and are a mix of seawater and freshwater. The outdoor pools are situated either side of the hotel so you do have a quiet pool, plus there is good access to the beach which is in a good bay for swimming.
Entertainment was very good something every night a bit butlinish but good fun. Food buffet style but bookable a la carte. Plenty of variety but could have been hotter. They did 3 speciality nights but with the variety of food all ready there it was difficult to tell.
At the time we were there only 1 bar was open at night and it could be a struggle to get a drink, best bet make friends with a waiter get service at the table.
On the main drag there are lots of bars and shops. Just opposite is a stop for the road train they run right along the sea front and do a couple of half day trips.
All in all a very nice resort and a very good hotel.
