Arrived back from Hotel Villamarina on 12th June
This is my families second year at this hotel and
my kids aged 11 and 3 enjoyed it just as much as last year.
The food was fabulous once again.
What stands out about this hotel for me is the managment and
staff, they are all so helpful and friendly.
They all remembered us from last year and are great with
the kids.
The snack bar is great if you do not want to go to dinning room all the time.
I will be going back again next year, cant wait.

Travelled to this hotel on 4th june on arrival we could not occupy our room until 12.30pm, but this was no problem we sat on terrace in the lovely sunshine. We were in room 412 on 4th floor tidy basic room with small bolcany, but perfect for sleeping at night. A distance from salou centre and beach, but a nice walk to both. Great rooftop terrace adults only, and drinks when ever you needed one. Food was good, good joice, hot, well presented, pounds have piled on having 3 meals a day. Staff great, spanish and english. Hotel was very clean, rooms done every day. We had a great time and would return again.

Fantastic Family Hotel - Staff are a credit to hotel

Booked directly with hotel - communication with Lindsay the Manager was first class, she even picked us up from the airport. This was a great family hotel - have children aged 6 and 9 The staff were second to none and felt like friends by the time we left. We stayed in the apartments for two days ( lovely with washing machine and huge balcony) but the hotel was even better!
The rooms were small but spotless and cleaned everyday.
Food was probably the best that i have had on an AI holiday.
Cocktails were yummy!
Entertainment was good and when it rained entertained inside was non stop.
Kids club was AAAA++++ - never a dull moment from 11am to 4 or 5pm (even taking them to lunch) and then again from about 7.30 to 12ish (mini disco then away to watch a film) plus free games room with playstations.Playpark enclosed and very safe. If you have young kids they will have a ball - honest.
Pools looked nice although was a bit cold for me in April.
Roof top terrace for adults only was a bit of heaven!
The staff were a credit to the hotel and honestly made the holiday!
Location - about 10 mins walk to beach but it was mostly flat - quiet area but near enough to the hustle and bustle if you wanted it.
Lyndsay, Ivano and the rest of your staff - Thanks again for making our holiday so special. I will be back soon.
My children Andrew and Grace loved it.

Dont understand why so many people are slating this hotel! My family and i had a fantastic holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with small children. Its not five star but you get what you pay for (we certainly got our moneys worth). The food was absolutely fantastic and had something for everyone. The snack bar was also good which you got to help yourself to. We never got to take advantage of the roof terrace because we have a toddler but heard others say it was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and the cleaning staff made a massive effort. we never used the shuttle bus once we enjoyed the 15 minute walk down to the beach every day, wandering around the shops and taking in the beautiful scenery. The beach was immaculate and had loads of play parks for the wee man. That about sums it up. All i have left to say is the people that complain about this fantastic place obviously just love moaning! What do they expect from a 3 star budget hotel who offer far more to their guests than they pay for the privilidge of staying there! So thankyou to all the staff who made our stay so fantastic and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

The hotel was amazin i had a great time there, i would go again a week was to short me and my boyfriend wanted to stay there for another week. The roof top terrace was amazing it was the highlight of the hotel as it is only for adults so it is very relaxing and the jacuzzi's where really good. The bar staff in the hotel were really friendly and made you feel welcome, If you go look out for Dawel the bar man on the roof terrace he is very friendly and makes everyone laugh. the entertainment there was is very good and is a really good as you are chilling out in the night. The only down side to the hotel was that you cant take snacks upstairs to the roof terrace, apart from that it really was a great hotel.

When we arrived the reception staff were friendly. We couldnt get in to our room until noon but had been told by our rep on the bus so didnt mind. There were two small- medium size swimming pools which were clean. However some of the sunbeds kept collasping so watch out if you go some older people didnt find it very funny. The night time entertainment was your usual bingo, quizs and singers but was extremely loud at night and therefore if you went to bed before midnight you couldnt sleep. The bar staff were very friendly. The pool bar food was cold and tasted awful. The Restaurant staff were not to friendly and the food was luke warm and tended to be the same every night - glad only there for 7 nights as food wasnt great. There was a separate area for adults with jacuzzis - no child - with its own bar on the roof which was very nice. When we booked this hotel the brochure said that there was a courtesty bus to the beach - there was a bus but it dropped you off at the shops and from there it was a 5 minute walk to the beach which was the busiest part so no where to go on the beach. Instead we walked fron the hotel -15 minute walk and this part of the beach was brillant -plently of space. Not sure why the bus did not drop of hear. We heard several of the other guests complaining about this bus service as it only took you to the shops from 10-11.30am and would bring you back between 4-5pm and didnnt drop you directly to the beach. Overall this hotel was average. If you want to be near a beach stay at a nearer hotel as a 15 minute walk in 33 degree heat is not fun.

Management enforcement of unwriten rules
5 / 10

When I see bad reviews about an hotel I always think that it has been one little issue that triggers a complaint that then encompasses all the other little niggles that you may have normally accepted. Unfortunately the Manageress triggered my complaint, there are good and bad points? Good points were the food was good and well presented, but you had to be sure the plates were clean, dishwasher problems. The room was not very clean when we first arrived but got better during the week. Yes, the entertainment was acceptable, but there was limited seating in the main area, but you could go and sit on the roof away from the kids if you wanted. Other than the management, the staff were very good. My "trigger" problem was the key card when trying to get into the room - it broke. We went to reception and was told by an unhelpful person that there was a charge for a new one. In a nutshell you either pay up or you don't get into your room, we paid. I saw both the rep and the manageress the next day and she said it was hotel policy, read the info provided. That information said a charge would be made for lost key cards, but this one was broken. She said the info was out of date and would be changed - but hang on a minute you are moving the goal posts. Her reply - I use/loose 500 key cards a week and someones got to pay? The rep stayed very quite which suprised me to say she was there to look after my interests. Then when I furnished an official complaint agreed that Manageress was out of order. The location of the hotel is a good 15 minute walk to the beach, so with young kids would be a bind, I did not mind the walk.

What can i say? I have seen some really mixed reviews of this hotel, but personally? I loved it! I was with my boyfriend and were both in our early 20's. The room was bit basic, bathroom was tiny, other than a little mould in the grouting, the room was fine. It was cleaned daily, and we always chucked our dirty towels in the bath, so had clean ones daily. The food and drink with the all inclusive was fantastic! It was different meals every night, which is rare as the last all inclusive i stayed at served the same thing every night! The location was a 10-15 minute walk to the beach, but as a young couple a 25 minute walk to nightlife. The staff were really helpful, and friendly, i cant fault them at all. This hotel is cracking for family entertainment, very butlins style, but we loved it, in the end we wanted to stay in the hotel rather than go out, as it was brilliant (plus drinks were paid for!). To be honest you can never judge a hotel until you go yourself, as were all so diffferent, but me and my chap loved it, and would go again!!

I was worried when i read the reviews to this hotel, and i was right to worry. The rooms were not clean at all the staff were not very helpful as on our arrival to our room the air condtioner was broken the water was pouring out it landing on the already warped laminate flooring, we had to sit in and wait for the repair man coming it was like back home. The staff were not approachable I felt like an inconvienance. We had to wait 5 hours for a safety deposit box so we were walking about with passports, tickets and 1000 euros. The food was disgusting I`ve not seen anything like it I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, although i would return to Salou. The beach is lovely, theme park and water park amazing, and Barcelona is a must.

After reading some of the comments as i always do when going on holiday i thought i would still go and make my own views when i came back. This hotel is fantastic, every family i met there said the same thing and were booking to go back. The food is one of the best all inclusive hotels i have stayed at they have such a vast amount of choice is great - plus a carvary on every night as well! The maids - great in rooms every day and put clean towels in (as long as you remember to put used ones in the bath). They make the beds every day and a general tidy! What more could you want on holiday! The rooms arn't massive but who lives in the room on holiday anyway. Reception staff - yes very helpful. Location on hotel - a little away from the heart of everything but there is a free bus that the hotel puts on for you to travel to the beach and the main shopping centre. Pools - great too of them - plenty of sunbeds everyday. Entertainment - could be a little more for children - the kids club great but only songs and dance for 1/2 and then onto adult shows. Got a little park onsite which my children loved and a outdoor screen which shows different films everynight! i went with my 2 children - 3 and 4 yrs and my partner we loved it and didn't want to come home. i would definalty visit again for the price alone. The only comment i would make is that its a family hotel and there were a group of lads there that basically were not meant to holiday in this hotel. it did kind of ruin 2 days of our holiday - however the hotel staff/manager did deal with this situation. if the hotel was reading my write up i would stress as i did on my holiday that they shouldn't let same sex groups (ie) Hen party's, stag doo's leisure in there hotel as they can spoil the hard work that the hotel does to keep it a very family oriantated hotel. All in all would recommend this hotel and would visit again in the near future.
