Oui, Oiu, Paris
My wife and I, along with a visiting relative from Europe, recently (Sept) stayed for 3 nights at the Paris, Las Vegas and had a wonderful time. Check-in was a breeze taking no more than 10 min. Our luggage was brought to the room promptly and the bellhop was happy to recommend a place to have a light dinner. The double Queen room was spacious, well cleaned and furnished, everything was in order. We used our rental car for a trip to Hoover Dam and waited no more than 10 min. for the valet to get it. The "streets" through the hotel are lovely and we were entertained by some neat "acts". All-in-all, we cannot find a negative thing about our stay there and definitely will return for another visit.
Would Stay Again, Can't complain
Just got back on 9/28 from Vegas and stayed at Paris. Nothing bad to really say.... The rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were very nice. Our room had a king size bed, with a small desk, entertainment center, small couch and cocktail table.. We paid 79.00 a night and was very pleased, even without the view. We were supplied with enough towels and the staff at the hotel were very accomodating. Draw backs were that you had to walk thru the casino to get to anything. The french music in the elevators got very old after two days and all of the signs... Le Elevator,Le Casino,Le Toilet,Le Restaurant... A little cheesy... Have a drink or dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, the view is beautiful.. We went and watched the sunset....
Loved Paris
My husband and I went to Las Vegas for the first time in September 2003 and we stayed at Paris. We upgraded to a suite and were very pleased with what they gave us. We had a very large room with a king size bed, sofa and comfortable arm chairs, we had the usual in room TV etc. however the suite did have a fridge, a nice plus. We had a huge bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi tub, a dressing room with a walk in closet. The place was very clean, particularly the bed, pillows and the bathroom, things I always inspect and am very fussy about. There were no stains on the carpet or the furniture and the whole place is nicely decorated. The pool area is nothing special, but we did not go to Las Vegas to laze in the pool, we can do that at home in Florida. The hotel staff, with the exception of the casino cashiers who were very surly, were pleasant, helpful and friendly. We asked if a late check-out was possible and they gave us until 3:00PM at no extra charge. The food in the Le Provencal restaurant was very good and not too pricey. JJ's Boulangerie is a great bakery with sandwiches, soups, salad and pastries, it also has marvelous fresh crusty bread. La Creperie has wonderful sweet or savory crepes, freshly made to order. Probably the best meal we had was in the Aladdin (next door to Paris) we went to the Spice Market buffet, it was the best, everything that a good buffet should be. Plenty of choice, good atmosphere, pleasant surroundings and great food. In fact the casino staff were also more pleasant than those in Paris. We found some slot machines were very poor with payouts while others, Slingo in particular, paid out regularly. We are not big gamblers and spent around $500 on slots, however we saved our winning tokens and exchanged them for cash at the end of the vacation. We got about $180 back. Table games we did not play so I cannot comment. Overall we had a great time, we were pleased with our hotel choice, although we probably will choose another hotel next time, simply to try something new. Las Vegas is an experience, overwhelming when you first arrive, it is completely different from anything else you may have encountered. They say that you either love it or hate it, we certainly loved it!
Okay to stay if rate is right
I had a chance to stay in the Paris Hotel in August. I got a decent rate at about $99 a night. As long as you can get a rate for under $100 a night, it might be worth it. We did not eat at any establishments there because I read reviews that it wasn't worth it. Try that Fat Burger place just outside of MGM Grand - Juicy Big Hamburgers with good atmosphere.PROS: We arrived at 7:30 in the morning due to an early flight and to my surprise, we received a room. Other hotels I've stayed will not let you check in early, even if they have a room available. Warning: make sure and NOT get there between 10:00AM-12:00AM or between 2:00PM-4:00PM because of check-out and check-in times. You'll be waiting awhile. We used the express checkout feature so we didn't have to wait in lines. Plus, you go outside to any bellmen and they'll hold your bags if you have a late flight. I did not upgrade to a room with a view because I didn't care about looking out my hotel window while I was there. I did not go up in the Eiffel Tower either because of reviews I read that it wasn't worth the 12.00 you have to pay. Staff was helpful and kind. They treated us with respect. We received a coupon booklet that was good at all of the Park Place hotels in Vegas. Make sure and look through them before you buy anything at any store, because there are discounts in there. Plus, if you're a member of their player's card thing, you get discounts as well at restaurants and stores. We made the mistake of eating at a Bally's restaurant twice before we noticed that we could have gotten a discount. Room was clean. A small stain on the carpet in a non-walking area so I didn't mind that. Bathroom was clean. The shower is separate from the bathtub so I loved it. Decent water pressure in the shower - could have been better, but it did the job. When you get off the elevators you enter a big foyer type thing that leads off in different directions from the room. Looked cool anyway. It wasn't just straight to the hallway to your room. Nice decorated hotel. I guess it's supposed to look like the streets of Paris (never been so I couldn't tell)CONS: You get sick of the French music in the elevators very quickly. When you are at the lobby level, the elevators open and close quickly, so you have to be ready to jump on one. It is sometimes difficult not to get hit by the doors closing on you. The bathtub dripped, but at least you couldn't hear the noise from it when you were in bed. Of course, the reason you couldn't hear the dripping noise was because the air conditioning fan stayed on constantly and it sounded like wind was coming through. Very difficult to get to sleep since all you could hear was wind noise. Also, you could hear the people in the next room when they would flush the toilet or even turn the water on from the sink. This was so noisy, that it will wake you up, even from a deep sleep. Casino-I can only talk about my experience so: Slots - I did terrible at and quickly quit playing them. I watched other people play different slots for awhile and they did not do well either. We did pretty well at slots at Bally's which is next door and uses the same players card. Needless to say, we were in Bally's casino most of the time. We tried our luck at Keno too - just a waste of money. Table Games - just like any other table games in any other hotel so you can't say much about them. Sports Betting - Their place has many TVs at tables that you can turn to whatever is on. Very nice touch.---------------------------------------- Miscellaneous Players Card - their players card will work at slots and at table games. It takes a ton of money to get $10.00 cash back. We spent probably $500.00 there and wasn't even up to $10.00 cash back so I'm guessing it's either 1% or 2% cash back dollars (which is different than comp dollars). I forgot what we were up to in comp dollars. I never went back to the booth to ask what the comp dollars would do. Although, when I signed up for the players card thing, I noticed people were getting a little bit off of there room bill. My room was pre-paid (through *********- check it out, it saved us about 150.00 off of hotel/airfare package) and that was if I got airfare at the cheapest rate.Overall, I was glad we stayed there, but I would have been a little upset if I had to pay normal room rate.
great brekfast buffet
The breakfast buffet at the Paris was wonderful! Great selection and service....the line moves fast....best buffet around and not too expensive!
Beautiful hotel
I stayed at Paris when it first opened. Beautiful hotel. The room was great, awesome bathrooms, big, I was impressed with them. Pool was pretty but blah. We did not eat here once because we do not like french food and it was pricey. Overall great experience. Great location on the strip.
Over-flowed, not with joy...
I have been to Vegas 5 times and stayed at various types of hotels. We stayed at Paris Aug. 14 - 17 in a standard room. The Paris hotel was nice enough, the rooms were neat, clean and new. The problems were in the bathroom. The toilet would not flush properly (water pressure?) and the sink and tub took minutes to drain. The last day of our stay the sink didn't drain at all and the toilet overflowed (water onto the floor) even after maintenance had been in to "fix" the problem. We stayed in rm. 2453. The other incovenience was room service. Only one of the two beds was made (we had used pillows from the other bed). One day the extra pillows were stacked neatly on the bed, the other day they were left tossed on a corner of the bed. None of our personal things were straightened up nicely like in most nicer hotels. I would not stay at this hotel simply because of all the bathroom problems - it is very inconvenient to try to get a toilet to flush, especially in the middle of the night and in the morning when you are trying to get out of the hotel room.
The Paris
Just came back from lass Vegas 8 days we came back on august the 12 we spend 5 night at the Paris hotel , its a beautiful hotel I felt like I am really in Paris its really amazing . The rooms were ok not a five stars hotel very basic the service in the restaurants was very bad it looks like nobody likes to work there. I went with my sister to the coffee shop in the hotel it was 1 am and there were about 10 people waiting in line up, to me it looks not normal and I looked inside the coffee shop and I saw it empty I ask the lady why we have to wait in line if the coffee shop is empty, she did not answer and let very body in people told me that this line up is to show that they are busy I could not except that. The rest of the trip we spend in the luxury also beautiful a bit on the low class. We went to see most of the hotel the most beautiful ones and close to very thing was the belagio the Cesar is the ballys and the Paris. In addition, I think the belagio is the best from all of them the most classic one. We went to see the o show it was amazing but I think that 150 $ per person for this show is a bit too much. The food in the Paris buffet is amazing and worth very penny just delicious do not eat anywhere else the breakfast the lunch and the dinner were very rich you can find every thing you desire for. Enjoy
Enjoyed the Paris Hotel
We stayed at the Paris Hotel from July 21 - 23. We first stayed at the MGM (see the review of the MGM). The adults (myself and wife) enjoyed Paris more than the MGM. The kids desperatly missed the lazy river at the MGM. The rooms at Paris were much more appealing, though smaller than MGM's, the furniture and decor was newer and seemed cleaner. We paid the extra $20.00 for a room on the strip. We got to see the Belagio water show, but couldn't hear the music that accompanies the show, so it wasn't exactly perfect. All-in-all, I would pay the extra $20 for the room on the strip. Didn't like the casino, didn't see a $5.00 table, plus they didn't have a lot of tables open. I ended up walking over to the Barbary Coast to find a $5.00 table (of course I'll probably get cancer from the second hand smoke there!). The pool area was not that large, I can see that in high season it would get crowded rather quickly. However, your looking right at the Eifel tower, it's a nice touch. No problem with check-in or check-out. We did have a car and it was a hike to the garage. I was to cheap to Valet park the car, in hindsight I should have. We ate at Le Provencial (Italian, singing waiters etc) and it was very good. There are no MacDonald's etc. there, which can be tough if you have kids (we have a 10 and 5 year old). I'll probably try another hotel when I return, but I certainly can recommend the Paris hotel, it's fine.
Average Hotel
We stayed at the Paris, Auguts 24 - 27th, 2003. The Paris was an average hotel to stay at. I was really disappointed that there wasn't a small coffee maker in our room. They wanted you to buy a $3+ cup of coffee downstairs! Seems like Vegas has gotten awfully expensive since the last time I was there. The breakfast buffet at the Paris was like $17 per person! Outrageous!!! And don't look for a Coke product in any of the Park Place hotels...they have a contract with Pepsi!
