Manos Apartments

We had a fabulous week at the Manos Apartments, and were well looked after by Nicki who treated us all like friends. The accommodation was basic but adequate and there were fabulous views of the mountains. We would sunbathe by the pool during the day, walk into town for a meal then return to the pool bar to talk with the other guests.
Sometimes for a change we would walk to Almiros beach which was sandy, shallow waters and had a snack bar. We also took the local bus to Elounda, a town about 10m up the coast, and Kritsa, a small town in the hills which we found too touristy.
It was very romantic dining at one of the tavernas surrounding Lake Voulismeni, or on the harbour. Ag Nik felt like a truly Greek town rather than a tourist resort and it was very cosmopolitan, no lager louts in sight! We would love to go back again - and we don't normally go back to places. I don't agree with the description of Ag Nik on this page, at the Manos it IS possible to have a quiet holiday if you want, or you can walk into the centre of town if you want a bit of nightlife.
