I thought this hotel was amazing. I wen with my boyfriend both of us are quite young and this holiday was amazing. so much to do, short walk to the theme park and a short walk to the beach. It was quite and the food was good..i'm not that fussy but the choice was more than enough. especially the desserts were to die for.
Def go on the jeep safari...it was class fun!
The evening entertainment staff are very talented and could speak loads of different lagguages which catered for all holiday makers.
the only downfall i have with this holiday was not with the hotel at all., it was Thomas Cook itself..they forgot to collect us and 13 others from the hotel on returning to the airport home and as of yet have not got back to me with an apology.
Apart from this it was excellent and would def go back.

Im just back from this hotel & I thought it was great. I was a bit nervous because the reviews are mixed but I really thought it was fantastic. The whole hotel is spotless, so clean. The food was great, they catered for every taste, their is something for everyone. There was 4 adults, a 3 yr old & an 11 month old in our group, myself & my son are very fussy eaters & we had no problems. Yes sometimes some of the trays of food was on the cool side, but they were replaced frequently so you just have to wait on the next batch (not long) but what do you expect when its a buffet feedng the masses. The walk to the beach/shops was not long, my 3 yr old son was happy to do it. Hint: If you come out the hotel and turn right its a nicer walk into the shops, beach etc. The Restaurant staff were really friendly and they adore kids especially babies, tho I found some male bar staff to be a bit grumpy. Mini Disco for kids was great, my wee fella loved it.
I do have a negative point tho & it was a concern for me, bearing in mind I am 34 yrs old so not just being an old moan - the evening entertainment was excessivley loud! If it is indoors well it is unbearable, sounded great fun but they seriously need to turn the mic's down, we got in and had to leave, my 11 month old was upset by it, kept putting her hands near her ears. When it was outside it drove is potty, saying that our room was above it but you could still hear it plain down the street. This is why I have knocked 2 points off, it would have been 10/10.
Oh & weather was good too.....enjoy your trip. I would go back. xx

7 of us (5 adults & 2 children) came from Dublin to stay here last week in April for 3 nights. It was a brilliant trip and we are heading back to the hotel in June. Couldn't really fault anything. Cant understand why some reviews complain about the food. Breakfast was always hot, amazing selection of poached eggs, omlettes, crispy bacon, any type of breads/rolls u can imagine, beans, grilled tomatoes, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, croissants, custard donuts, teas, coffees, biscuits, juices and lots more that i cant remember. Dinner was hot too, amazing selection of salads-too much to list, breads/rolls, steaks, pork, fish, chicken, pastas, soups, chips, beans, nuggets, rice dishes, huge selection of yummy cakes, fresh fruits, yoghurts, ice cream - how anyone can complain that there was only chips is beyond me. Pool is lovely, bit cold but then again it was April, kids pool really shallow - which is great. Stayed in for the entertainment in the bar on the last night and we thought it was great fun! Kids mini disco was fun for my daughter, she had a ball. They have a mini bus that brings you to the theme park and beach 3 times a day and back also although the walk is only 15mins. Kids club in the mornings, little games room, little playground, pool bar, staff were lovely- what more can you ask for.
Overall had a great trip!!!

food severed luke warm at best, whenyou complained burners turned up , and food boiled, then back to cold the next meal.
eggs deep fried in cool oil and only when half boiled and removed was the bacon started, and only when burnt, and removed to chill in the tray was the next batch of eggs drowned.
noise from kids as young as five until after midnight, whilst parents where in the bar.
best way of telling you is that this hotel is all fur coat and no knickers,no aircon!!!!!!!!!
not four star, looks posh but no way pedro!!

This hotel is excellent in most respects. The only negative point is the loud children's entertainment which goes on untilmidnight every night, in the main bar,
There are three bars, the main bar, lounge bar and pool bar. Theere are two pools, one large outdoor, which was cold in April, and a heated indoor. There are two hot tubs/ jacusis. The hotel gym is free to use, but there are charges for the steam room and sauna.
The hotel is spotlessly clean. The location is great, close to PortAventura park and to the beach at Salou. Whether Salou itself is to your liking is a matter of opinion, but I have seen a lot worse in Spain. If you think that Salou is a dump, try Calella on the Costa Brava!
I cannot understand why there is any criticism of the food. It is first class! The choice for breakfast and dinner is always very good. Breakfast always has a wide choice of breads, eggs (scrambled, fried, omelletes), bacon, cheeses, fruits - the list goes on. The choice for dinner is equally good and, on some days, includes t-bone steaks and smoked salmon.
Overall, an excellent hotel in and excellent location.

This was the hotel from hell, surly unhelpful staff, greasy food, stinky air conditioner, not allowed to bring your own water into the dining room, no hot water in the shower, internet that had 3 different charges for the same computers. Don't bother. Someone smashed into our hire car in the hotel car park and they didn't see it it on their CCTV, what else can I say, you'd be better sleeping in the park next door with all the dog poop!

This had to be the most disappointing holiday we have ever been on, how this hotel was ever awarded 4 stars is beyond me.
On arrival our rooms were not ready, we had booked this hotel over a year earlier and had requested rooms overlooking the pool as my dad who was travelling with us cannot walk very far and therefore spends a lot of time in the room and we did not get this and when asked could we be moved they told us the hotel was full, which was a lie.
The food was poor, it was often cold, and the dining room and its staff were not of a 4 star quality.
Also this hotel is not wheelchair/buggy friendly, the only way down to the pool was down 20 or so steps. The hotel also offered a courtesy bus to the beach which they operated once in the morning and then late in the afternoon, so you either had to stay down there or jump on the wally train that ran around Salou, which was a life saver as this hotel is a bit on the outskirts.
The hotel is not well thought out the park for children was pathetic and directly in the sun and the hotel entertainers were the worst ever.
I would never rebook this hotel again no wonder it wasn't dear to book.

We left the UK on 31st Aug. We got to the hotel at about 11:30 am. Check in is at 2:00 pm.
We were allowed to leave our luggage at storage in return for one Euro, got a map from reception, my 17 year old daughter and her friend changed into their swim suits and started their sun bathing marathon! My husband and I went exploring the resort.
The hotel is excellent in terms of services and cleanliness. The location is good for my daughter and her friend to wonder to portaventura theme park everyday by themselves.
We asked First Choice for a room overlooking the pool we got one on the other side, over the entrance but a sort of end of terrace, so we got a wide view.
We were happy they did, as we did not really appreciate the entertainment held every night at the pool area, however my daughter and her friend liked it!
Moreover, we can see the car park of Portaventura. My daughter would check from our balcony how busy it is before setting off to the theme park
While my husband and I preferred to eat out in different places, my daughter and her friend ate at the hotel most night. We did try it one night. The food is good and good value for money in comparison to most other places.
Bring your travel kettle, your tea bags, and a small metal teapot. No toaster! Otherwise it is a well equipped kitchen.
The hotel does not seem to have a system for retaining 'keys'. We paid 10 Euros to get a second access card 'key', as we were not together with my daughter and her friend most of the time.
We went to Tarragona, Cambrils on local buses and to Barcelona with Plana Bus tours (you can find them on Zaragoza road where all the shops are).
If you are interested in architecture and history, I would recommend their 26.90 Euro per person one day trip-Panoramic Barcelona pick up at 10:00 am from Salou Mon-Sat. The tour was excellent and worth every cent.
We had a lovely holiday. Salou has something for everyone.

Booked this holiday then decided to check out the review, I must admit the reviews concerned me.
Flight went great, 30 euro's for a taxi from airport to hotel; there in 15 minutes forget transfers not worth it.
Spoke to a friend before travelling and was told to learn a little Spanish before going, spoke to reception in Spanish and were amazingly friendly, although knew my Spanish was poor.
Hotel was great, spotlessly clean, food was good, and rooms were cleaned daily.
Hotel was really busy and bar staff hurried to try and serve everyone, although you never seemed rushed when ordering.
In short the hotel is good if you make the effort, a little Spanish goes a long way, and the hotel is really close to Portaventura.

We would definitely not giving this hotel as a 4* rating on this occasion.
Receptionist were not welcoming to you on arrival. When you ask them about the trips, they just said everything is in the folder, not even bother to recommend anything to you even the hotel was not busy. "Everything is on your welcome card" that's the answer you get every time when you ask them.
Lots of surcharges we were not aware i.e., €3 per day for In-room safe plus € 5 deposit - we thought it was broken door; €3 for hat to swim in-door swimming pool if you want to use Sauna or Steam Room also charge €3 per 30 minutes.
They also have massage services available but not convincing to use them. Internet access € 1 per 10 minutes. Jetted tub/Turkish Bath = Jacuzzi, more suitable word.
Plenty of choice for breakfast, fry up, morning cakes (Lovely), Fruits not so sure.
Buffet dinner seems okay, drinks need to be paid which is fair, only downside was Salad, bit funny taste. Fruits were not fresh enough, I guess not many people are interested.
They have a lot of choices for desserts and always topping up when food is almost gone. Do not sit too close to the window due there's a lot of "ants" walking around the edges. Not sure how often they clean the floorings.
14" television and the TV only had 2 English Channel which were CNN News & SKY NEWS - nothing else even it stated Cable/satellite TV/Pay movies.
Location is excellent for Port Aventura as it's only about half a mile up the road - take 15-20 minutes’ walk. The hotel runs a free bus to and from the beach and Port Aventura for those who don't wish to walk ( only 10am & 12.15pm from hotel & 4.40pm from Port Aventura)
Tour of Barcelona - not sure what you expect, just a few locations to stop by if you prefer to have more locations should go by yourself via Train.
Overall I would said it is okay but not 100% 4* rating.

Visited the Daurada for a weeks stay in September, and enjoyed the hotel so much we returned in the November for a 2 night break, on both occasions the staff were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotless and cleaned daily.
Plenty of choice for breakfast, fry up, cereals, toast, rolls, morning cakes, yoghurts, and the list goes on and on. They even do an early breakfast if your flight is leaving early in the morning, although you have to tell them.
Evening Meals were good, plenty of choice, meat, fish, pork, vegetables, pasta, soup, great selection of desserts, depending when you actually go to eat depends whether the food is hot or warm, have never experienced any food there that was cold.
Kids 4 and 3 loved the kid’s mini disco, the staff were great with them, and if you are friendly towards the staff in general, they will go out of their road to help and give you the low down on Salou.
Several of the bar staff actually took the time to come and talk to you when they weren't busy, some of their English was rusty but I couldn't praise them enough, always concerned that you were enjoying your stay.
Drink prices slightly higher than the bars although I suppose you are paying for the service. Although not too expensive.
8 of us travelled in September and every one loved the week we spent at this hotel and would happily recommend it to others.

Just got back after spending a fantastic week in this hotel. We went Sun 29th Jun to Sun 6th Jul had a great time, would def recomend it.
The drive from Reus airport is only about 20 mins so not long. We arrived at hotel around 11ish but room wasnt ready until 2 so had to wait - as you can imagine we weren't too happy especially being tired from early start. We grabbed a few bits, left our luggage in the secure room, quick change and killed some time by the pool. It goes quick and before long we were in the room.
The room is clean and reminded me of your typical Travelodge room. Nice bathroom with hot showers every night and double bed with a single sofa bed made up for our two yr old. Not great for the passion as we shared a room with him all holiday and would have liked a bit more space but wasnt a huge problem. Clean towels every day.
We overlooked the pool so could hear the entertainment at night. Talking to another couple they asked to be moved and reception were find with that. They moved so werent overlooking the pool and said they couldnt hear a thing.
Restaurant food was excellent. Wide choice with a different spread each night. Food to cater for all including kids and 'chips and beans' Brits. Sat night was the best - cured ham with melon and the on the fryer the little Spanish lady was making some excellent steaks - just had to go back and have another one. Busiest time is in the morning at breakfast and if im going to moan then only 2 toasters for 350 roooms isnt enough. Special mention on the cakes, the are great. The look great and you could just eat more and more! Trouble is we ate so much, I am so fat now! One day we went to beach and requested picnic the night before, which was fine.
Barstaff were all friendly as well as the service staff. Yes, you cant take water in the canteen but big deal, just buy some at the table and fill up your bottles in your bags with what you dont drink.
Didnt notice a different on prices, Spain used to be so much cheaper but you dont notice it now. Beer was around 3 euros, so 2.40 a pint.
10 minute walk straight up the road from the hotel is Port Aventura. This is def worth a visit, especially in the evening. We went at night from 7 til midnight and the best bit is the firework show at the end. Just amazing. Great pint glass souvenirs aswell.
Beach is about another 10 minute walk south from the hotel, seems a long way but isnt really. Can seem busy but no shortage of sunbeds.
Entertainment in the hotel every night - first mini disco for the kids (couldnt help joining in for a few of the dances) and then various entertainment including shows, quizes, betting night - it was all good fun. Some daytime entertainment as well.
Get your towels on the sunbeds early to guarantee your spot, most people do it so nothing to be ashamed of. No germans at the hotel either so cant blame them.
Weren't overly impressed with rep as there was a mix up with our welcome meeting. She was in reception most days so there if you need her. We fancied the trip to Barcelona but thought our two yr old would just get bored.
You dont have to leave the hotel if you dont want to as there is enough to keep you there. But it was nice to get out and about as well. There is a train outside that is worth getting on just for a trip round the town and it will bring you back to the hotel, think it was 3 euros each. The entertainment staff were very friendly and spoke lots of languages. There were quite a few Spanish staying in the hotel, more than brits.
We would def go back again.....
ps. I challenge you to come back and not get that song stuck in your head - chi chi wa chi chi wo.......
