Monika Hotel Apartments

My son and I have just come back from a most wonderful holiday at the monika hotel in sidari.
This hotel is situated away from the hussle and bussle in a beautiful area. explore the area!!! there are some interesting finds. The rocks, the monestry up the hill..
we had a three bed room which was clean and spacious (rm18), it looked out onto the canal and was everything we expected it to be. lovely
the cooking facilities are basic but fine. So, dont forget to bring a tea towel and washing up liquid as they are not provided.
The staff at the hotel are lovely and increadibly friendly, cheryl the receptionist is amazing, thank you zena for the lovely food and the bar staff stephan and costas are fabulous. thank you katrina for a wonderful hotel.
the swimming pool is lovely and the kids all play together on each others lilo's and toys...such fun..(however, there was a man who was very possessive of his pink lilo ...and was very miserable and moaned about everything... hes gone now and left his pink lilo..)
There are plenty of sunloungers and sun parasols to relax under.
Sidari is a very lively resort of a night.
The BEST ICE CREAM we found was at KELLYS (this is found on a side road off the main strip on the way to the beach)
try the sundaes and pancakes... yummy!!!!!
Try and eat some traditional greek food it is very tasty. ask for the traditional roast potatoes delicious!!!other wise every thing comes with rice and chips lol
I would recommend staying at this hotel and I plan to come back again.

I am there now so i am writing this while it is fresh in my mind, ITS FANTASTIC the rooms for five are very big but the sc equiptment is very poor I wouldnt even attent to try to cook a meal in there we upgraded to half board for this you chhose anything off the menu for breakfast from full english to just toast with jam, the meal at night int grate its stuff like spag bol on mondasy chicken curry tuesday etc. The new stusios for 2/3 r again basic and the older ones r tiny with your kichen sick hid away in a wardrobe type cupboard. all that a side everything else is purfect it is clean friendly and in a location that is ok a small beach facing the hotel and the main sidari beach a ten min walk in this heat. it is at the opposite end of sidari to canal d mor. The staff here cant do enough for you to ensure that you enjoy your stay. Our age group is 2yrs 21 24 28 48 and we are all happy. BRING AVON SKIN SO SOFT SPAY THE MIOZZIES DONT COME NEAR. WE WOULD ALL DEF COME BACK.

Hi ya even though we had a great holiday , we had it spoilt on the last couple of days by a visit from the olympic rep and the hotel receptionist stating we had soiled one of the mattreses and we were to charged 100 euros , when we said we couldnt pay they said we would be removed from our room and would not be let out the country till we had paid , nothing but bullying , we had no option but to pay the money for something we hadnt done ,eg they never showed us the so called spoilt mattress so travellers beware , otherwise we had a fabulous holiday , except for last 3 days .

Monika Appartments, Sidari, Corfu, Gtreece 1st July- 8th July 2011
A perfect holiday.............................. My boyfriend (T12 SCI) and i booked through Olympic Holidays as a cheap getaway. We were after a holiday which would have wheelchair access, however in greece this is difficult. We contacted the appartments to enquire about access to ensure no steps and to request a ground floor room. We then went a head and booked our holiday knowing we could not be garenteed a ground floor room. We was adviced this was not a disabled accommadation.
On arrival at Corfu airport we wwere met by our transfer a basic coach which took us to our appartments. The monika appartments excelled our expectaitions, the rooms were basic however they were extremely clean, well maintained by a maid daily. We advice to get bed and breakfast which is what we did, there was a good selection of cooked breakfasts which were fasntastic. the staff were extremely friendly and happy to accomadate any additional requests. The room and bathroom were wheelchair accessible, a pre fabricated ramp was made upto reception, eating area could be accessed through the side and the pool accessed over the grass round the side.
The complex is sittuated over looking the beach and is a short walk from the strip which is nice evening stroll, the strip itself provided a large range of entertainment aimed at all ages including karaoke, quiz and night clubs, bars and lot of very good tribute acts. to conclude we had a fantacstic holiday and will definately reccomend monika appartments.

we went to monika apartments september last year and cant wait to go bk in september this year realy looking forward to seeing the polite and friendly staff again. the pool was very clean and always a space to relax all round fantastic holiday

Me ,my wife and 5 year old daughter Hollie have just come back from this Hotel, We go on holiday 3 or 4 times a year to different locations and we all agree this was one of the friendliest hotels weve ever stayed in. It was rated at 2.5 stars which is about right, the rooms, communal areas and pool were very clean. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble ( even the couple who owned the place). We wil definately returning.

Hotel in a perfect location. 10 minutes into the town. So the hotel is near enough to shops and night life, but far enough away not to be noisy. Very peaceful. Beach a stones throw away. Pool absolutely beautiful. Beach and sea so convenient. Staff helpful and friendly. Rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. We were half board and the meals were good. Full English breakfast and a choice of 2 meals in the evening. We enjoyed every meal we had there.
A truely lovely holiday and would definately return.

Well Arrived At The Monika And Was Really Happy Pool Lovely And Clean And Was Maintained Every Night, Bar Staff Alex And John Cudnt Do Enough For You And Kristina Greeted Us On Arrival Rooms Spotless Food Outstanding, Hotel Surroundings Lovely Was Well Located Next To Shops And Restaurants A Well Run Establishment All In All We Made Some Freinds At The Monika, Only Gripe Was That The Showers Didnt Have Holders On The Wall So You Had To Hold It Yourself But We Loved This Place And The Staff And They Was Always Curtious Reps Nice Too Saul Was Lovely And Steve Too! And Hannah Montanah The Other Olympic Rep! Monarch Flight Fine But Seats Cramped You Would Have To Be A Size Nothing To Be Comfy ....But Would Be Happy To Stay At Monika Again Was Sad To Leave!

We booked the holiday 6 weeks before we traveled. We didnt pay alot and to be honest after reading some of the reviews we didnt expect alot either. However, we had a lovely, yet basic room that was kept very clean by the friendly cleaning staff. The room had all we needed including air conditioning which we werent expecting at all. The location is perfect, a superb base to access the best of sidari. The swimming pool was lovely and the food served there was great. I do however have to say the sunbeds/tables around the pool were not very clean and the stains from drinks etc was not cleaned away for the 2 weeks we were there.
Even though this accomodation is sold as a family one, as a middle age couple we felt slightly ignored by the young bar staff when they were organising the greek night. the music played was on a loop from the tv station that never changed to accomodate all tastes.
But overall we enjoyed our time at the Monica and it is a place i would return to, but this time with more mossie repelent,as these little devils are a problem

Got a cheap deal to these apartments in July, my 15yr old daughter and myself went and had a great time.No rushing for sunbeds in the morning, nice and peaceful,just what we both wanted. Rooms were basic but clean, slight problem with the shower and flooding in the bathroom but overall had a great time and can`t wait to go back.
