Our stay in Sidari had highs and lows. Most of the low points had to do with our appartment though. The toilet broke 3 times during our one week stay! It was constantly running water which was very noisy, so it disrupted our sleep. The shower was also very... more

was a lovely holiday
i stayed here with my boyfriend for 7 days, the hotel was friendly and the room was very nice with all the necessary basics. we had a nice balacony overlooking the pool although this was the wrong direction for the sun. the grounds we very nice and the pool was a good size. we went self catering so didnt eat in the hotel at all. the main downside was the fact the drive just to the road was a good 5-10 min walk so everywhere took a while to get to. the beach took 10 min although the nicer beach was in the town more, the town of sidari was a 20 min walk. this was fine during the day but we chose to take a taxi at night. it kept us fit though as we sometime walked in to town 3 times during the space of the day. i would also recomend trips to sunset beach to watch the sun go down - perfect for a romantice evening (lovely beach under a cliff and nice restaurent on the cliff). also take a horseride treck in roda- great even if u have never riden. restaurents i would recoment in sidari are roof top garden and the mexican.
Peaceful, Pretty Good Value, Excellent Pool
My main fault was that we were on the ground floor behind the reception which blocked out the beautiful views, and being on the ground floor the room smelt musty, on the plus side it did stay pleasantly cool in this room and the rooms were regularly cleaned. A long walk to the supermarket/s though, in fact a long walk to anywhere! Beware of the mosquitos though, use a good repellent. Pool was a good size, really deep at the deep end, We hired a motorcyle from a motorcycle hire place in Rhoda and from then on the whole holiday looked up! We visited Paleokastritsa which was absolutely stunning, also went up to mount Pantocrator. Sidari is nice but get a car and see around the island it is a beautiful place. We had a full fortnight of sun and blue skies, food was great, try a real Kebab in sidari's main street, not the proccessed muck you get in UK. Took an evening boat trip to Corfu town which is a really quaint shopping area, well worth a visit, Also took a beach barbeque boat trip which was pretty good value, Greek people were very pleasant, not too pushy, all in all I would highly recommend it.
Loved the views
When I booked the apartment for myself I could not believe the price of £165 & waited to find how bad it was, but was told Olympic do not charge single supplements so I ended up in a huge studio apartment with views to die for In the mornings I sat on my balcony taking in the beautiful scenery in peace & quiet. Yes as already stated it was a long walk to the beach but was along a nice wooded road. Sidari mainly consisted of restaurants & souvenir shops so I spent as little time as possible there. Regarding the food I often ate at the restaurant at the complex & found the meals good value and well presented. In fact one night everybody else had gone out, but the staff had no problem about, opening up for me. The staff were always friendly & pleasant. If you want a different holiday away from the beach & noise other than the odd brits screaming kids as mentioned elsewhere in other reviews, which is only the same as any other complex then this the place to be. There are problems on the trip to Albania because if you do not pay the extra cost for the excursion of $18 you will have 6 hours to do nothing in a strange country where there is little english spoken. In summary if you want good accomodation, food & service, with stunning views with long walks in the countrside, then this is the place to go.
Spirross is the man!!!
the legend that is the barman Spirross. Made my time there a whole lot more fun. great lad!!
Basic
I stayed with my Partner and 7 year old Daughter, the Resort is in the middle of nowhere roughly a 20 minute walk to the beach, then once on the beach another 10/15 minute walk around to Sidari Town. I would not walk back to resort in the dark as there were no street lights. The apartment itself was very basic, although self catering it only had two hobs for cooking, no toaster and the kettle wasn't that great either. Seeing as this resort is so far from the main town you would think that it would have a shop on site, but there isn't one!! Taxis from the resort to the town are roughly 5 euros each way. Beware that on transfer days i.e Monday and Fridays it is hard to get a taxi in the day as they are all doing airport runs. Staff were friendly and helpful, the greece night at the resotr was very entertaining and I highly recommend it, worth the money. Overall a disappointing stay, I don't think we will return.
This is a little gem
Me, my wife and fourteen year old daughter came to stay here at the end of May 2006. After seeing other holiday makers being dropped off at their places in Rhoda and Sidari we were a little apprehensive as to what we were going to get. We should'nt have worried. This place is by far the best place to stay in Sidari. It is set back away from the livelier parts, about a 20 minute walk amongst the most beautiful scenery you could wish for. The rooms are very spacious and clean, the staff so very friendly and eager to please and it's an ideal place to just chill. There are two routes to walk into Sidari, thats if you don't want to use the free transport, the main road route and the coastal route. Either way it's only 20 mins and the scenery is great. Walking back at night is very dark, so take a torch or use a taxi for 5 euros each way. The poolside bar is just whats required providing hot and cold drinks plus light snacks during the day. In the evenings we found the main bar and resteraunt quite boring but being so close to the bars in Sidari was not a problem. To give you some idea of how much we liked the place we returned for another holiday at the end of July with our other daughter and boyfriend and our Mum who is not very clever on her feet. The resort is ideal for wheelchair users. It was a little busier because of the school holidays but you were always able to get a sunbed during the day. The only downside for us was the attitude of some of the parents there who seemed to spend all the time drinking while there spoilt brats annoyed other people. Parents, please have some supervision over your children, it's not just your holiday you know! We would return here as we enjoyed it both occasions and would not hesitate to recommend the place. If you stay here you will be staying at the best place in Sidari.
First Time in Greece
First time in Greece....Our family and another family have just returned from a holiday at the above hotel. On arrival at the complex we were taken to an annexe type building which happened to be the ground floor apartment of a private residence. We had previously asked for adjoining rooms so I gather this was the best available. The apartments were spacious, clean and away from the main building of apartments/studios which was to our advantage, however the self catering cooking facilities were poor. Don't expect to do much in the way of cooking with one large hotplate and one tiny ring on a tabletop Baby Belling type cooker, no grill or oven. Not much in the way of cupboards and no drawers in the bedrooms. The linen etc was changed every 3 days and the rubbish taken away daily. Aircon was an extra 5 Euros per day which is very expensive and the tennis court came at an extra cost as well. We found the walk into town pleasant but very dark on the way back in the evening, if you remember your torch still enjoyable..........look out for taxi cabs on that stretch of road at night and don't forget your torch! Food in Sidari was great value for money, try Sea Breeze, B.E.D.S. Bar for really good value for money. The food at the hotel was good although we never tried the full dinner. Trips from Sidari are good value, much more expensive through the rep as we expected. If you are thinking about hiring car, do it from the town not through the rep as it is much cheaper and really good value for money. The pool and surrounding area was spotless with plenty sunbeds in place and the pool bar provided us with the much needed drinks when necessary (and the odd lunch). The gardens were nice and well maintained with nice view etc. All in all the holiday was a good one but would not return to the accomodation in a hurry as it could have been better..............lacked the wow factor for us!
Enjoyable but a long walk!
We went to stay in Rebeccas Village last May. We had a lovely holiday and the hotel was very nice. The pool complex was ideal. The studios were a reasonable size and were clean. However I would advise anyone going to ask for an upstairs room, as there are gaps under the door to the outside and you tend to get a variety of wildlife crawling through if you don't stuff the gap with something. Our only other complaint would have been the distance from Sidari. It is quite a long way to walk everyday, especially walking back after a meal at night, as there is a long, very very dark road back to Rebecca's village which is completely deserted. Overall we found the hotel staff very helpful and they organise several trips such as horseriding. The food at the hotel was really tasty and we eat there a few nights as it was so convenient. We would definately go back to Sidari, but we'd find a resort a little nearer the town next time.
Go back tomorrow
We had a great time at Rebeccas village even though we where self catering we eat out for all our meals. Breakfast was great value and set you up for the day but if you do work up an appitite you can get a snack from the poolside bar. we had a large bungalow for two adults and one child very clean and spacious maids did a great job at cleaning up always changed bedding and clean towels. If you can hire a car but not from the rep as they are much cheaper in Sidari lots of little quiet beaches to find. Great days out to have are the water park kids love it so do adults plenty to do for all ages. Beach b&q a must great boat trip followed by great food and loads to drink. Nice walk into Sidari on a night for evening meals if you get chance try The Three Brothers great food very cheap excellant quality sometimes with entertainment. We will be returning been to Corfu a few times but this was the BEST what a lovely complex Sandra &family Doncaster
Our Holiday at Rebecca's Village
This is a nice complex, friendly staff, breathtaking views and hot weather! Be prepared for a 20 minute walk along a main road to shops and beach. (not too easy if you have kids, pushchairs etc). There are apartments and studios on this complex. We stayed in a studio. It was very cold during the evening/night and the room was 'damp' which didn't help. Kitchen facilities could have been alot better. We could only manage breakfast. The pool area is nice, but I guess it can be very noisy during the school holidays!!!! A taxi to the beach is easy to arrange at reception. The cost is 5 Euros each way. There is a bus which will take you at 10 and pick up from the beach at 4. Happy Holiday. Jenny & Carl
