Hiya, me, my boyfriend, sister, her husband and daughter have just got back from Salou this morning.
When we first got there at 11.15am we were told that our rooms wouldn’t be ready until 12pm, so we went and had a few drinks at the pool bar went back to reception and my sister got her room but me and my boyfriend were told it would be 1pm so we waited again when 1pm came we went to get our keys and were again told our room wouldn’t be ready for another 20mins eventually we got our keys and got to our room.
It was a room in the "basement" but we were already prepared for that prospect as we had read about it on this site and hadn’t pre booked a balcony but it wasn’t all bad especially if you’re like us and hardly ever in your room.
The food is good but can be a lot of the same old thing, so we went out a couple of times to a restaurant for a change, there is a great variety of food places around the resort! The hotel is placed brilliantly in the middle of everything! Its literally a 2 minute walk into the centre were there are numerous shops and restaurants and plenty of women braiding hair! The beach is about a 5minute walk and there are gorgeous fountains on the beach front
I highly recommend the Port Aventura theme and water park there is a train that runs along the road and is a 5-10 minute ride to the park and cost 2.50 euros and children are free under about the age of 5!
The pool area at the hotel is wicked and you have to have a go at jumping off the rocks into the pool!

Fantastic hotel on the beach, fantastic looking pool with a little waterfall feature on the side of the pool. Very family orientated hotel. With large rooms and a sea view balcony.
Hilton style buffet breakfast and really friendly staff. Only a two minute walk in to the centre of town. And just round the corner from Porta Ventura theme park and water park.
Taxi cost from the airport is 30 euros and general price for a beer is 2 Euros.

Lovely hotel only rated it 8 due to the fact that we were in the basement with no balcony so if you decide to stay here make sure you request one!!
Food was lovely and different every night. There was even themed nights e.g. Mexican.
Beach not even a 5 minute walk away and also shops close too.
Lots to do: Theme park, go-karting, water park, and Barcelona is only a 55 min train journey away only costing around 5 euros!!

My stay at Hotel Salou Park was fantastic. I felt so relaxed and comfortable. It is a 4* Hotel and rightly so. The Accommodation was fab and the rooms were always spotless.
The maids were brill as well as the receptionists and the staff at Hotel Salou Park, in general. The entertainment could have been better but I was one to enjoy the excellent Salou nightlife nearby. The food was fine and there was always something familiar as well as something a little more exotic.
I had absolutely no bother fro any of the other guests and had the opportunity to meet a lot of friends from all over even as far a-field as Switzerland and Australia.

The Hotel itself is excellent and the food cannot be faulted. However the problem is with the rooms. Unless you explicitly book a room with a balcony, you are placed in the basement rooms.
These rooms have very little light and are around half the size of the other rooms.
I went with 8 members of my family and had to pay an extra £170 to change rooms.
The rooms in the basement are of the standard and size you would expect in a 2 star hotel and certainly not what we expected when we booked 4 star accommodation.
The other problem is the lack of service and support from the Med Hotel rep.
When I made a complaint to the rep, she told me tough luck and when I challenged her, she started screaming in Spanish and got reception to phone the police.
If you ensure you book a room with a balcony and go with someone other than Med Hotels, you should have an excellent holiday.
However the non balcony rooms and Med Hotels are a disgrace and should be avoided at all costs.

Excellent hotel, great location. Hotel excellent - good food, good choice and hot. Chips could be better on occasions if I have to complain about anything. Rooms good & kept clean. Maid service brill. Entertainment usual Spanish. Drinks a bit expensive if you are drinking spirits. Pool was lovely and kept clean, shame on those people putting towels on the beds and not using them until late afternoon.
The maitre 'd' was on the ball each evening making sure everything was the way it should be. Check out the Rio Grande just across the road excellent food, staff were absolutely 1st class, drinks reasonable. They made our holiday. Good place to chat to others on holiday.
Certainly going back next year. Wish it was next year.

When we booked this hotel we assumed that given it was a 4*we would automatically be given a lovely room with a balcony. When we arrived we were given a room at the back of the hotel in the basement with no terrace at all. I went to complain only to be told that it would cost me 10 euros per night to upgrade.
There were 3 of us on the holiday. 2 adults and 1 child. The child’s bed was not in the room when we arrived so again I had to complain about this. When the camp bed was eventually set up in the room you could not swing a cat.
The accommodation left alot to be desired. If you are booking this hotel do not expect 4* accommodation - I would not even give it 2*.

This is one of the best holidays I have experienced, we booked via teletext and only new it was 4 star hotel. The food was excellent with multiple choices, maid service excellent, medhotels welcome meeting staff full of excellent trip recommendations, bar staff fantastic and reception staff were wonderful, especially Alexandria.
I have been in many 4star hotels, but the staff in this hotel made such an effort to ensure you enjoyed your holiday that when I return to Salou there is only one hotel that I would book and this is it. FANTASTIC.

I was quite disappointed when I stayed at Salou park hotel ,it was rated as a 4 star hotel but I would give it a 3 star, when we arrived the room was not ready, we had to wait for at least an hour an a half when we finally got our room there was four beds squashed together and very little room for anything else we had to squeeze passed each other to get to the very small balcony which only had 2 seats for to adults and 2 children aged 8and 11.There was no selection of children’s food in the restaurant so nothing much appealed to them and certainly after finding a maggot crawling across the breakfast table, after seeing that we decided it was time to eat else where. Pool area was small but safe for children. Hotel was situated at the top of a bank. Plenty of shops bars and restaurants close by.

Excellent Hotel, Cannot rave on about it more then i do. Very clean, food lovely, staff excellent, we felt that if we had paid double the price it would still have been good value.
Pool area was clean and very safe for Children, also there was a lovely roof top area that had lovely views of the sea.
Rooms a good size and bed changed daily.

Where do I start? Well....on arrival the hotel appeared to be very nice - outside swimming area looked lovely.
However as we were given our room keys by the very rude receptionist we were given no directions on where our room was located...it was as though she expected us to know where we were going! We entered our small dark dingy cave (room) we unpacked and noticed the TV didn't appear to work, after reading the manual. I noticed guests were asked to ask reception. My boyfriend asked the receptionist and she boldly accused him of stealing our supposed remote control that was supposedly in our room. Even though the manual stated to contact reception.
For a 4star hotel I was already disappointed. The rooms were however kept very hygienic - although the maid decided when she wanted to tidy our room!!! E.g Sunday morning at 9.30am??Tues 2.30pm?? For a 4star hotel there are more basic immunities in a 2star hotel..! No kettle...cups...coffee. Tea...only one power point!
Overall disappointed and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I filed a complaint but I will not receive any response because the hotel lacks warmth.
