Awful

Sucked into this stay by Olympic Holiday brochure seen in UK I was eager to arrive. To say my appartment was minimalist is being kind. The meet and greet rep was only coursery on arrival. Broken shower head, incomplete mirror, no aircon, basic cheap wood frame single beds, hardly any crockery or utensils and two simple small cotton sheets with which to sleep. I am a big chap, and of course they were too small to cover me. I did eventually get a larger one, but not straight away and not before - sweltering - and despite precautions several local insects had feasted, on me! At least the fridge worked.
My rented Nissan with air-con was a daily release from this hell. Pity it didn't have an inclusive bedroom.

SO BAD HAD TO BE MOVED

Oct 2011, grumpy

Just got back from Corfu, spent two days in these terrible apartments then asked our rep to move us.
Ours was like a dungeon, dark, dirty and full of mozzies. Our rep Lindsay was very helpfull and got us moved to Kassiopi where we had a two bed flat over looking the Ionoian sea towards Albania
Even the locals at Roda despise Olympic holidays for bringing Roda into disrepute because of the state of the Elenitsa apts,
be warned look at all the bad reveiws and take notice.(DONT GO THERE )

No hot water until 17.00 and then all gone by 18.00 so need to be quick. Very dated apartments. We didn't even have a kettle, kitchen sink plug or a working cooker when we arrived and for the first2¿ days, so couldn't self cater!!!!!
Beds and pillows look and feel like they have been in the apartment since they place opened.
Bathroom was under water every time we did manage to have a shower in the limited hot water.
However the location was excellent - 1 minute from the beach and 5 mins from the Theodorous pool.
Roda is a fantastic place and the people are so lovely just make sure you choose elsewhere to stay!!!!!

Elenitsa?? I have never had such basic accommodation complete with broken shower fittings, 1 roll of cheap toilet paper and lack of proper bed sheets since 1959 and and Sea Cadet training barracks. At least the fridge worked.

Just returned from our 3rd holiday in Roda, this time at the Elinitsa. Roda is a lovely place with all you need for a relaxing holiday. We have previously stayed at the Elizabeth (ok if you are in the newer accomodation, we wern't) and last year at the Fiona Theodoros which was brilliant. As for the Elinitsa, never, ever again. We arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning and 1st complained after the reps meeting on the same day. The 2 main issues were both loos in our ajoining apartments were disgusting and the wardrobe had a mouldy damp smell, so bad we did'nt unpack our cases. We asked to be moved but were told all Olympic accomodation was full, the rep, Lyndsey was unable to help apparently, it was only when we insisted on seeing her manager on the Wednesday was anything done. We moved to the other end of the block for the second week. This apartment was slightly better, though some of the fittings were shabby to say the least, the cooker, though never used sat on a metal cabinet, the bottom of which had rusted away and the kettle did'nt work.

Basic but adequate

The studios are very basic but do have everything you need for a self catering holiday. 2 ringed cooker, fridge, cutlery, crockery, kettle, table and chairs, we had twin beds as there was only the 2 of us, sheets, blankets are kept in the walk in wardrobe if needed, not that you will need them during the summer months as we got to a very dizzy 41 degrees this july. and towels. the room was cleaned and clean bedding and towels left during the middle of our weeks stay.
The bathroom is more like a wet room, you have a sink and mirror, toilet and shower, but water goes everywhere when using the shower as it is not very well contained in the shower tray and as the floors are tiled they get very wet and slippery so take extra care. Still it serves your needs adequately.
the town of Roda is lovely. It has a good selection of places to eat and buy groceries etc, the beach is outstanding and the sea is so warm and crystal clear you will never be out of it, and as it stays quite shallow for quite a way out it's ideal for the kids to play in (supervised).
Had the best holiday ever and will be going back next year!

Clean, Tidy and Quiet

Roda is a traditional Greek town which is not overly commercial or touristy. The Elinitsa Studios was in an ideal location for the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. We found them to be of a 3* standard, clean, tidy and quiet. The accomodation included a spacious bedroom, kitchen, balcony and bathroom. There was no pool, but you could use one 5 minutes away at the Fiona Theodores.
We'd recommend 'Roda Park' restaurant for their Greek cuisine, friendly service as well as excellent value for money. Try the 'Corfu delicious' as it was exactly that.
For Bar's we'd recommend 'Pirates', a different theme each night - from Legends night to Greek dancing. Also the Brandy Shop Bar where you can have a drink overlooking the beach and listen to the waves come in.
Check out Corfu Town by bus, as well as Acharavi the next town along from Roda if you go along the coastal paths. The views are stunning.
Only negative about the Elinitsa Studios was the check-out time and having no pool on site. We had to check out by 12pm but our flight was at 4.30am the next day. We could have paid 20 Euro's for the room but that was only until 6pm. Not ideal if you have children as you are hanging around until your pick up time from the Fiona Theodores.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday and we'll be going back again in the near future.

Had an enjoyable stay in roda, its a lovely little place and has everything that you need. The Elenitsa apts and are in a great location, not even 2mins to the seafront. The apts are very basic, hand held shower in bathroom, very rusty and there is no aircon, this is ok until you have to open balcony door all night and get get attacked my mozzies! The room is very dark and glum. However we didnt really mind as the room for us was just a place to sleep and shower. the couple next door to us actually moved their second week and paid an extra 250 to stay in another hotel because they disliked it that much as they had no proper balcony their room was very small. the people opposite were not happy either we looked in their room and sockets were hanging off the walls and behind the cooker wires were loose and exposed. I think we were lucky with the room we got, its pot luck! the others went to the rep to sort it out but he didnt care one bit he asked us not to say anything as he didnt want to get into trouble. Overall our stay was brilliant Roda is lovely. Go to Nikos restaurant to eat, it is to die for. Good pubs/bars are pirates, sandys and big ben!

I don’t know where to start. THE HOLIDAY FROM HELL!!!!!! The so called balcony overlooked waste ground full of weeds the room was dark and dingy smelt of damp and needed a complete renovation, windows didnt shut properly and the electricity left a lot to be desired. Don’t know where they would start with the renovation perhaps if they pulled it down and started a fresh. The only thing about the hotel was the clean sheets and they were only slept on once as I had to pay extra and rent a room elsewhere. I was informed that this was a budget holiday and I didn’t pay a budget price. The rep didn’t want to know about it and was very un-cooperative.

This is the second time that i have used these apartments and yet again my stay was brilliant. This year my dad came with me and even he was impressed on how clean our room was the only drawback was with the beds a bit hard this time. Being self catering we were able to eat out a lot and i must say that i was eating at maggies (just down the road from the rooms) and i must say that the food there was exceptonaly brilliant maggie and her staff made me fill welcome also steve and lisa at casanovas and ian and Ange at the Bulldog also made me welcome as they always do. I will be defanatly be coming back next year and will stay at the elenitsa again, also the claeners were very polite and came back later if you were still in bed.

I have been going to roda for a few years now and this by far was the best accomodation i have been in the room was clean and the general cleanliness of the apts was excellent. i have rebooked at the elenitsa again for july2008 and hope the standards havent dropped. I have no reason why i shouldnt recommend to anyone. what makes these apts more desirable that they are close to the restaurants, bars and the beech which make this very central location to be able to explore roda and the surrounding areas.

My family and I (3 of us) stayed here for the first week of the season. Although I'd read very mixed reviews I have to say we were extremely happy with our accommodation. However this might be because we have been travelling to Greece for over 15 years and know that the accommodation is usually basic.
The two bedroomed apartment we stayed in was on the first floor and upstairs in the furthest away block on the brochure pic. You can just see the sea ! Bins/emptied twice a week but I always find the external bin (outside under the stairs) and empty ours daily - this way ants and unpleasant smells are avoided especially as it gets warmer. Our accom was very clean, we had a separate kitchen with a kettle (Whay Hey!!) and what looked like a new fridge. We also (gasp) had a shower curtain which is unusual for Greece.
Roda itself is reasonably pleasant - (but a bit 'Watneys') unfortunately the food in a lot of English bars is sanitised to suit some English tastes and I don't go abroad to get Sunday Roasts or English Breakfasts but for those who like this then they will be very happy. The only really authentic place to eat was the old building on the seafront (forgotten its name) and this was a tiny bit posy. Roda Park had really good starters but the main courses we had were tasteless (the 3 we had were anyway) although they are supposed to have won prizes. All I can say is that the guy who won the prizes wasn't cooking the night when we went. I would go to Roda again however and use it as a touring base because Corfu is a beautiful island.
Two cashline machines very close by and a pharmacy up at the Crossroads which is about 6 mins from Elenitsa. Elenitsa is very central and literally 15 seconds from a supermarket which is on the end of the lane. Less than 2 mins takes you to the beach. I'd stay in this accom again.
