Not long back from Roda. Be prepared for the transfer from the airport - we had 3 hours of hell - it took me 3 days to get over the journey and we hired a car to get back to the airport! The very small, dark, dingy and basic apartment was bad. We had three adults and one 9 year old and felt very uncomfortable AND the place was supposed to be for six people! We had to pay over £100 for aircon, which just made the upstairs room hotter and got no sleep for the whole 2 weeks due to the noise coming from the bar - it boomed out till 3am most mornings. Theo also decided he wanted to be a DJ and setup a very VERY loud speaker system over the pool on Sunday and even though loads of people complained and most of the sunbeds were empty he still told us he was going to carry on next week! If you have children ask for an apartment as far as possible from the bar. If you book one of the supposedly bigger apartments be prepared for the tiny bathroom/wetroom and remember to take the loo roll out before you have a shower. Also remember to put your towels out on some sunbeds at 7am and a book or some shoes as we saw people take towels off of the beds when the owners had just gone for lunch. Also be prepared for mossies - I think the place was built on their home-land! The only nice thing about the place was the homemade Sunday lunch. We will never go back to the theo/fiona apartments again! Roda was ok with a lovely beach.

Just spent a week at the Fiona Theodoros. We read the Olympic site thoroughly before contacting agent who re-affirmed that this resort/accommodation was ideal for a quiet, relaxing family holiday. The first thing we saw on arrival was a group of teenage girls whose studio was directly above ours, drinking, shouting, etc...needless to say, we hardly slept that first night and on complaining to the owner the following morning he shrugged and said - "you get that sometimes..." Great help. The rep promised to have a word and things did improve the following two nights before they thankfully flew home.

Secondly, the 'road' between the accommodation and the pool is described as a 'quiet narrow lane' - it is in fact a very busy road, used by the locals until about 4am to avoid the main seafront which has been closed to traffic. There are mopeds and cars half the night. I don't know when anyone from Olympic actually tried to get a good nights sleep at this resort, but I highly reccommend they try it. We talked to others who had rooms at the back of the building who said it was much quieter, so I reccommend you DO NOT go for a pool view as at least then you will sleep.

On the whole the staff at the bar were arrogant and surly. Maybe that it was nearing the end of the season and they had had enough of the teeming, roasting Brits by the pool. You couldn't see for England flag towels and that in itself was disconcerting as we had come away to avoid all that nonsense. Thank God for Kalami where we spent an idyllic day snorkelling and lazing on the beach. There are still places left in Corfu where it is possible to do such things without the constant thud of LOUD music ALL afternoon - and to add insult to injury, the bar staff at the Fiona gave all the teenagers by the pool - whistles ! so they could blow along to the beat!!* My God!! It was a nightmare..

We will never return to the Fiona - albeit the pool was lovely, the room was adequate and clean, it is 5 minutes from a good choice of restaurants, the beach and supermarkets and a handy 3/4 hour drive to Corfu Town and Aqua Land. Ideal location but NOISY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son, who is seven thought it was heaven on earth, so for that alone, I am grateful...

Just got back :( and after reading the comments on your site before I went I was pleased to say the positive comments were all true and we are glad we booked. The complex is lovely and everyone is very helpful. The room was ample for our needs and was cleaned daily. The area was lovely and Ideal for a central point for exploring. Well done for making our holiday an enjoyable memory! Will go back again but stay for two weeks next time...or longer!

We booked as a party of 7 and were spilt into 2 different buildings which was a pain, especially as my sister, partner and daughter had a very small and clusterphobic room, which seemed to smell very strongly of damp from the bathroom area and the rooms were dirty on arrival. It did not help that the cleaner seemed to by pass their room daily without cleaning it until asked, while ours, a lady called Jenny, could not do enough for us. Thank you.

My only other suggestion would be to supply mosquito aids to the rooms. Be forwarned bring your own!!!

We found that the food sold on-site could have had a higher standard and abit more imagination put in. Roda itself had plenty of option food wise so that made up for it. We also noticed the draught beer on-site was always warm! Stick to bottled!!!!

Apart from that that the surroundings were lovely, the pool area was great, just get ready for the race to the chairs in the morning! or take the 10 minute stroll to the beach, the choice is yours!

Local buses are a standing joke! they arrive when they arrive!

Lots of tours available with good pickup points so shop around before booking with reps, it could work out cheaper! Just check all details for pick up times.

Greek night organised by our rep, we have to say was the worst night of all. The food was disgaceful, We saw so much food go to waste as some people could not and did not eat anthing. If you like your meat forget!!! and the free wine did not help! I've had better Greek nights in Brum! The faces on the staff did not make you feel welcome either as they scawled at everyone as they served the meal! The bar there is too expensive. The only thing that made up for it was the dancing and music which was entertaining.

The evening shopping trip organised by our rep to Corfu town could have been longer you need a whole day really to appreciate Corfu town.Take your wallet, you'll need it!

Apart from that, get out and about, Roda and surrounding areas are beatuiful, beaches galore, well worth the visit and if you can hire a car go for it, just remember to stick to the right!!!. Enjoy!!!!!!

I just cant find a fault with this place at all. Everything is kept to such a high standard. The staff are very friendly and will out of their way to do anything and everything for you, without being in your face! The rooms are immaculate and well made out.

We will definately be going back and would recommend it to one and all.

We went for our honeymoon last year and our anniversary this year, and have met people that have been back year after year,in my opinion thats is the sign of a great place that offers what people want.

Brilliant staff always helpful can't do enough for you. There are enough restaurants and they cater for everyone. We recommend you try Niko's family restaurant and go to Crusoe’s for a quiz and a drink, p.s try the shots there!! For the elderly people or people in wheelchairs its flat and everything is in walking distance.

I have been too many of the Greek islands, some of the apartments great, some not so good. It would be very hard to fault Fiona Theodoros. The pool area was clean and tidy, really loved the poolside like a lush tropical garden. The staff were nice without being over bearing or false. The food at the poolside bar was good and not much dearer that elsewhere.

The apartment was very clean and everything that you could need was there. The location of the apartments was perfect near enough to all the resort offers yet down a quiet lane so peace a plenty.

I was there with my son, my daughter-in-law and my grandson so three generations and we all came away with delightful memories. Thanks to all.

We have just returned from our holiday at Fiona Theodoros apartments. What a fantastic place to go. Everything was perfect for us, the apartment, pool, location and facilities. I have a disabled mum, so therefore need to be able to get around with a wheelchair. This was no problem at all. Even the restaurants and bars mostly had wheelchair access.

The apartments were of a very high standard, beautiful clean, well equipped and well maintained. The pool area and bar were exactly the same high standard. We had quite a few snack meals over at the pool bar and found them very good indeed. The staff were always friendly and helpful and full of fun. It was always very clean around the pool area and plenty of sunbeds were available. Nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone, and any small problem, like a bulb fusing, was rectified immediately.

Top marks also to the Olympic team, especially Nadine who was always available whether at the pool or a phone call away. The Olympic team at the airport were also a great help with the wheelchair and luggage.

We will definately be back next year and are going to the travel agents very soon to be sure of getting there. We have never had a better holiday.

We booked the Theodoros & Fiona Studios with Olympic Holidays about a month before departure.

The accommodation is about a 10-15 minute walk from the sea, the pavements are good.

The accommodation appears to be in about 4 blocks, some are across a small road from the bar and pool, which makes them quieter.

The pool area was one of the prettiest we’ve ever seen, with a circular toddler pool separated from the main one by railings, a swim-up bar, a bridge over the pool with a slide down. There was also a spring board at the deep end. It was kept immaculately clean, as were the grounds.

There were quite a lot of sunbeds and brollies, some on the paving around the pool and some in the grassed area on three sides.

We didn’t see many people putting towels out to save sunbeds, in fact on the days we spent around the pool, we pretty much had our pick of sunbeds when we went out about 10:00am. The pool area and bar are open to non-residents.

The studio apartment we stayed in appeared to have been recently refurbished. The kitchen cabinets smelled new and the fridge and microwave were definitely fairly new.

The walls in the bedroom were free of squashed mozzies, so had probably been repainted recently.

There was a 2 ring electric hob, kettle, and toast/sandwich maker. No oven, though.

There seemed to be plenty of plates, dishes, and cutlery.

It seemed to be fairly well equipped to us, but we didn’t cook anything at all during our stay, so maybe someone who wanted to have some meals in the studio might disagree with that.

The bathroom also appeared to be newly tiled, with a power shower and red hot water no matter what time of day you had a shower – 9:00am or 9:00 pm.

The bedroom was not a bad size with 2 single beds pushed together, bedside cabinets, dressing table, wardrobe and a couple of dining chairs. There was a small balcony with a table and 2 rattan chairs.

The rooms were cleaned daily except Sundays and sheets and towels were changed twice a week.

Safety deposit boxes are fitted inside the wardrobes, it did say that a small charge was payable locally but we didn’t pay.

This may have been because the bright spark that stayed in our apartment before us had locked it with their combination, and it took several requests over 24 hours to get the only guy with the master combination to open it, so we could reset it, so they may simply have forgotten about charging us.

We didn’t eat at all in the restaurant and only had drinks round the pool in the afternoons so we can’t comment on what the evenings were like.

One day there seemed to be a wedding party on and the music was extremely loud during the day and some of the more inebriated and raucous female guests were dancing on the pool bar.

The music apparently went on until 3 or 4:00am and some of the other guests who were located in the rooms nearest the pool and bar were complaining the following morning. This didn’t affect us as we were across the road facing away from the bar.

It was the only time that it was noisy.

The staff were friendly.

Roda is fairly quiet with quite a lot of traditional tavernas and not too many ‘Sunday lunches’ or ‘Bangers & Mash’ being advertised – which was fine by us.

We had some really great meals in a number of places, although the portions seemed large to us.

We enjoyed the meals particularly in New Port, Odysseus, Nikos’s, and Opa (?) which was just behind the Harbour Snack Bar on the sea front.

We booked all our trips with NSK Travel which is on the main road from the traffic lights on the left-hand side going towards the sea. We paid 12 Euros to go to Albania (outwards by Flying Dolphin, return by ferry) plus 8 Euros port tax plus 10 Euros for the optional tour to Butrinti (which in our view was excellent).

We paid 24 Euros for Paxos and Antipaxos, including transfer to Corfu Town port.

They also do day and evening trips to Corfu Town for 7 Euros, its 3 Euros 10 cents one way by local bus.

This was significantly cheaper than the trips offered by Olympic (as you would expect), the prices included transfers to Corfu Town.

Local buses run into Acharavi, Kassiopi and Sidari, pretty much to the timetable, give or take 10 minutes.

We would definitely choose return to this accommodation and this resort.

It was the best holiday we've ever been on! The apartments were great and cleaned everyday except Sunday. The pool is wicked and all the staff are really friendly. Theo the owner welcomes you well.

Roberto makes you laugh when he dances and he’s good at pool. Lee's funny being the dj and Janine is great and really friendly.

The beach is so close, as are all the shops which is good. There’s a really good Mexican restaurant there which was definitely my favourite place to eat.

It was so good that we are going to go back next year.
