8 / 10
Oct 2011, Sylviana

we stayed at the belvedere sept 2011 and had a lovely holiday .The appartment was clean and the sheets were changed frequently ,the location was very close to the sea reached by a few steps this made it very handy for early morning swims. There are many lovely walks in paleokastritsa a walk up to the monastery is a must very breathtaking views .

olympic company a let down
4 / 10
Oct 2010, let down

visited the belevedere apts end of sept 2010 what a shambles ok as a base, not very comfy or cleaned properly. overrun with cats, even in the bed.our problem was the attitude of the reps from olympic, after a nine hour flight delay from uk arriving at approx 4am rep could not wait to dump us at unlit apts with literally hundreds of steep steps to cicumnavigate. after a rocky start the following day with second rep we tried to get on with our foreshortened holiday, was charged 28 euros for breakfast needless to say dined away from apts for remainder of holiday. if you are looking for good food, reasonable prices, very sincere and pleasant people then visit the gran aladino in the bay of paelocastritsa,Tassos a true gent and great staff.

Belvedere Apartments

The Belvedere Apartments is simply perfect! The views are out of this world with the added bonus of being in a perfect location. The 'Michalas family' make your feel like your one of their own, great for familys, couples and young people! The apartments are surrounded by local shops, main line bus stop, telephone box, amazing restaurants and the beach. What more could you want?
The Belvedere rooms are simple but very cosy and clean, most if not all the rooms have balconies to spectacular views. The restaurant is also brilliant, with a lovely friendly service and great food at reasonable prices! I will definately recommend this resort to my family & friends.

We went for one week and wished it was two.
Stunning veiws from apartments and pool, the family are lovley and will make your holiday special,Michos is a true star and will attend to your every need.the rest of the family will do the same.great fun to be with. lots of steps but well worth it for the veiws you get in my opinion 5* star and anywhere else in the world you would pay a lot of money to see.Food in the restaraunt was very good again with breath taking veiws and lovley family.Rooms basic but clean as you would expect in Greece.
Would reccomend scuba dive as water is crystal clear and warm lots to see.All it needs is AC to make it any better.

2 weeks at the Belvedre
9 / 10

We've just arrived home after 2 weeks at the Belvedre Apartments....I have given it a 9 out of 10, only due to the fact there was no air con in the apartments, when we booked, the Olympic site said there was. Other wise it would have needed a 10/10. The family that run it and the restaurant next door were fantastic and couldn't have done enough for us. My youngest son needed pain killers during our stay, we had no car, so Natasha (owners wife) drove my wife to the next town to get some. Our children became best friends with theirs. Nicos (apartements owner) does a bar b each week, loads of food for only a few euro's. The beer is a little expensive, but venturing to other places, we found it to be the same everywhere.
The rooms were very clean, we had bed linen and towel changes 4 times in the 2 weeks. There are, as stated on the Olympic website, a lot of steps to the rooms and more so down to the beach, but that wasn;t a problem as we knew about that.
Aris, who runs the restaurant was superb, the food and service was outstanding and the Greek nights on Tuesdays and Saturdays were great fun.
We met people who'd been coming back for as long as 25 years !! so I guess that speaks for itself.
If you want a sandy beach go elsewhere, but I assure you, you will not find a better view in Corfu than the one you wake up to from the Belvedre Apartments.

Fantastic Place
10 / 10
Jun 2009, Lees

Stayed at these apartments and they were really good...basic - but what do expect from Greece (If you have a shower curtain its a luxury - and we did) The rooms are clean, the cleaners come twice in a week but only change your linen and towels once a week. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the resort so you can get around on foot very easy only 5mins to the main beach but a stoney cove is just on your doorstep. Nikos and his family are really friendly and are more then willing to help you, if you want to go diving or hire a boat or bike he can provide this for you no problem. Olympic were fine the same as any tour operator...flight was on time going out and 30mins early on the return, the rep was there if you needed her but we dont tend to use them anyway and the trips that they offer you can get cheaper if you go direct anyway!!! All in all a wonderful place to go I would definately recommend it and would definately go back again.

A nice location, resturant next door was lovely the meals were brilliant.
Pool and bar area were good with brilliant views, pebbled beach nicely located, ideal for a nice quiet holiday. The bar staff were brilliant and we are going again next year. The only downside is the people behind the bar kept changing prices which was anoying because you never know how much you will have to pay when you get to the bar.

I vow never to book another Holiday...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss JK McQuillan

I vow never to book another Holiday through Olympic again!
Myself and my friend paid for an apartment with self catering facilities at the Belvedere. The Belvedere was a total let down. I am astonished more people have not complained about this accommodation. The only advantage staying at the Belvedere is the stunning views from the restaurant and pool.
We arrived at 1.00am dragged our suitcases down 70 steps, opened the door, stared at eachother, abondoned our cases and headed straight for the bar to get over the shock of our room. We were in need of a stiff drink!
We ended eating out for all our meals (so much for self catering) and spent a mininal amount of time in our room in order to make the holiday more enjoyable.
The cleaners only arrived at our room twice in the whole week we were there. Would'nt recommend using the same damp towel 3 days in a row. I did ask Nicos (the owner) for clean towels but he didnt seem to pick up on this basic English request as they were not forthcoming.
This accommodation needs to be refurbished badly. The picture of the apartment shown in the Olympic brouchure is not even what we were allocated!!

Had good holiday with my two teenage...

Sep 2008, Miss D Black

Had good holiday with my two teenage daughters. beautiful apartments. only one problem- the guy who ran the bar. He grabbed my daughter and tried to kiss her. We got moved as she was too scared to leave the apartment. We were moved to the other side of the Island and nothing happened to the guy because his brother owned the apartments. DO NOT LET TEENAGE GIRLS GO ON THEIR OWN TO THE BELVEDERE ASPARTS. SPOILT OUR HOLIDAY !!

Arrived at Belvedere at 4.30am,...
4 / 10
Aug 2008, Mrs S Rawlings

Arrived at Belvedere at 4.30am, no-one at hotel to greet us, this was down to the Olympic Rep, who led us (2 couples) to two different apartments at either end of the complex. (We booked in December 07 and thought that was enough time to allocate us two apartments next to each other - obviously too difficult for Belvedere or Olympic as one was close to the bar/pool area the other 122 uneven, back-breaking, lung gasping steps away). My husband and I drew to short straw and had the apartment at the back of beyond. We were so far in the back of beyond that even the cleaners could not find it. During our 14 night stay our room was cleaned 4 times, with 2 towel and 1 sheet change. I complained to the rep and the cleaner found the room. However, they must have employed a new cleaner because after that they couldn't find the room again. On the seventh day we asked Maria if our room had been cleaned and she said "of course", we asked if the sheets had been changed and she said "of course" however, we saw her creeping back into our apartment with new sheets. Basically unless you keep pushing them, nothing would get done. Let's face it in a country where you cannot put toilet tissue into the sewage system but rather have to put it in a bin by the toilet you do not need to be a Rocket Scientist to imagine how it smelt in 30 degree temperatures after 5 days. When we approached the Olympic Rep she told us "just put it down the loo"
The pool area was lovely and the views to die for and there were ample sunbeds, umbrellas etc, hence the improved rating score. As we had arrived on a Tuesday morning, the pool board said BBQ every Tuesday, so we decided rather than leave the hotel we would eat there. It didn't happen that night, nor the following Tuesday. The Greek Nights planned for Saturdays didn't happen either. Onto the bar, when anyone other than Nikos served us it was 12 euros for 4 drinks, when Nikos served us it was 13. When questioned, no-one, including the Olympic Rep could tell us why.
Palecastritsa as a resort was very pretty however you paid a premium for that, with all purchases, including food and drink coming in at 50% higher than other resorts (check out Sidari English Breakfast and Kassiopi Dinners).
In all would we return to Corfu, yes, would we return to Paleocastritsa yes, but only on a day trip from another resort. So far as the Belvedere Apartments, definately not, if you want to live in dirty accommodation, be ripped off at the bar, and run round in circles for someone to answer a simple question, go there by all means.

weve just come back froma weeks...
5 / 10
Aug 2008, Mr S Butler

weve just come back froma weeks holiday in paleo. The resort was absolutely beautiful, just as we had expected.
Unfortunately due to our delay on a flight out of manchester on mon 4th, 11 am (8.5 hr delay) due to technical problems.... more like flights over booked and it was first come first serve.... we set off flying at 7pm..
We got off to a bad start,
We finally touched down in corfu airport not to be met by any olympic reps, (we had to find them), utter confusion regarding coach transfer, we were told our rep had recently left and had botched things up.... 2hrs to get to resort... no communication on tranfer.
Finally arrived at belvedere apartments at approx 4.30 am tuesday morning.. we were feeling a bit tired and frustrated by then....(just wanted to sleep)
To our shock nico the owner was asleep on a sunbed by the pool!!!!
He told the rep that there was no rooms available..
at this point i kinda lost the plot a little bit (ie raised voices, shaken fists, and stomping around...someone was about to take an unexpected swim in the pool... it wasnt going to be me.)
we were finally asked to follow the rep down about 72 steps to an apartment, it was hot, it was basic, but it had a bed!!!!! the rep told us very quickly welcome meeting was at 1pm.. (these i dont normally attend but felt in this case i would be there EARLY AND WAITING FOR SOME ANSWERS>>>oh yes..
After apologise from our new rep JO who was absolutely fantastic, if you are reading this then you need to get out of Olympic ASAP..... You are too good to work for them....
she told us that the room we currently resided in last night (72 steps down) was booked by a family with a child...couldnt see the problem at first then realised he was a teenager.. we moved and carried our cases in blistering heat all the way back up those steps...by ourselves...
all in all the belvedere has a great family atmosphere, they are very friendly... rooms were very hot and sometimes unbearable, fans were available at a cost..
the rooms were clean but basic(desperate need of refurb and air con)
Nicos brother who ran the restaurant couldnt do enough for you...maybe a bit 2 much..food was luvly but a bit pricey compared to some of the others...
the beach was a bit of a let down, pebbles, stones., great for snorkelling though.
From the poolside bar the view was the best...
Carry on what your doing nico, but your place does need some money throwing at it, to bring it up to date.....
I would never travel by Olympic again, and would never recommend them to anybody...

This was my partners and my first...
10 / 10
May 2008, Miss S Smith

This was my partners and my first holiday abroad together and it was beautiful. The apartment was perfect and the resort was lovely, everyone was really friendly and welcoming and nearly everyone we met had been going to the same resort for 20 years, sorry guys, I know you want it to stay secret but I can't have people saying a bad word about it.
Olympic were rubbish, but you get what you pay for, enough said about that.
I'm 26 and it had everything we needed, it was a wonderful insight to living abroad which is why I love self catering so much.
If you want to meet loads of British people and eat kebabs this is not the place for you. We met lots of lovely people who were very friendly and everyone seemed happy to keep themselves to themselves which was exactly what we needed, working in bars and clubs we just wanted to get away from it all. There are some really nice restaurants and cool bars and the private beach is 5 mins down some steps, sandy beaches are a few minutes walk away.
We will definately be returning, probably until we are the old couple who say we've been going there for 20 years!
