" Holidays with Greek soul "
Submitted By: Anna & TomClean spacious acomodation with AC-(payable localy) and beautiful view at Olive treeas on the mountains is fully recomended by us-who enjoy active holidays and like to have self catering facilities We had short walking distance to two lovely rocky bitches-briliant for snurkling and easy acces to rent motor boat or book a trip to other biches by boat with glass bottom which show us under water world and transfer us to Pardise beach where we enyoy teasty BBQ.We also went to Aqua Park which is a good fun does no matter are you 6 or 60!!!.If you rent a car you can travel all over Corfu to see last reall Greece .Time just stoped there and between ruins of beauty houses and tinny narrow streets are leaving old people who are probably last villigares .If you say Calimera -(men good morning) their faces are happy and shinny and you feel really good that you have this privilege to be there and say them hallo. The real soul of accomodation is Maria who always make you feel very wery welcome and if you do not want to go to the beach you can enjoy 2 nice and clean swimming pools at nearest neighberhoud.Thre is plenty shops bars and tavernas and internet in 2 min walking on the Camping area.
Be careful with car rental-all local charge you extra for fuel after you made 100km-better find comany who will give you a clear price all inclousive.

" Although there is no pool at the... "
Submitted By: Mr A TeeceOur room, at ground floor, was very pleasant and cleaned regularly. There was a nice patio area at the front where we sat out on an evening and had a drink.
The owners, Maria and her husband, were delighful people who were very warm, friendly and helpful.
We knew the apartments would be fairly basic, so did not expect too much in terms of facilities. The kitchen equipment was fine and some couples who were staying there ate in most nights.
Paleokastritsa as a resort was beautiful, although the apartments were a fair walk from the nearest beach. The locals were extremely friendly and warm people and made us most welcome.
The local restaurants were all excellent and reasonably priced. It is a resort we would certainly go back to.
In short, if you want a basic self catering holiday with guaranteed good food and friendly service you can't go wrong. Be prepared to do plenty of walking as the resort is very spread out. There is loads to do though and plenty of nice bars.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable week.

" River Studios are very clean but with... "
Submitted By: Mrs R PeberdyThe 2 renovated apartments are really pleasant, lots of space and beautiful, large bathrooms.
The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Would give you directions and information. The studios were cleaned and beds changed about 3 times a week. The potted plants and trees in the front of the property were kept watered and attractive, but the area in front of the ground floor studios really needs to be paved over as it is just gravel.
Paleo is not for young people (not much nightlife, and the local disco is closed) or those with walking problems (very hilly). There is just one long, winding, hill down to the beaches (very small) and no boat trips other than in the bays around Paleo, so you can't take a day trip from here. It is a beautiful place but there is no village centre and only tourist shops and the largest "supermarket" is fairly expensive.
The old village, up the hill at the back of Paleo is well worth a visit.
Public transport is dire. You need to hire your own transport!! This expense it worthwhile, as there are lovely traditional villages to visit up in the olive groves.

Advice: It is an absolutely beautiful resort but very hilly and it is a long, long walk to the beach!
Activities: All restaurants had superb food but Spiros had large portions with Greek dancing thrown in.
Good for: Beach
