Just awful is how I would describe...
1 / 10
May 2006, Mr J Allen

Just awful is how I would describe this place. We arrived at 7 pm and were 3 hours waiting to get to our room. We have booked a cot for our 10 month old before we left, yet we were expected to pay 21 euro to get one. When we did get it, it was 11.30 at night and that was after 3 attempts at reception to get it delivered. The apartment was small, which is no problem but the fact that the power kept tripping, the cooker did not work, we had to lift the cistern to flush the toilet and the beds had broken slats, made it very frustrating, particularly as we had a small child with us.
The entertainment provided was ok, the guy who did DJ around the pool was very loud and loved the sound of his own voice. There was something laid on every evening (Bingo seems to be popular with these guys?) but we tended to go out to eat rather than stay.
The Budget Travel reps were never to be seen, particularly when the checking in and out was going on, our bus arrived and we all had to wait for an hour before the rep arrived.
Salou was fine. Bit drink orientated, most eating places were pubs (Irish or English), but the beach was excellent.
I would recommend Salou but not this apartment/hotel.

Sep 2005, Not Specified

Excellent holiday. Apartments were terrific. No problems at all. Very clean and staff very friendly. Good entertainment at pool and in bar at night. great for families and young couples. Rooms very small for four though. Both myself and my girlfriend shared a room and it was perfect for two. Situated in perfect location. Two mins from small beach and great choice of restaurants and bars just outside the door. water park and theme park easily reached from apartment. Food and drink so cheap!
Nightclubs great craic. Make sure you go to Charlies, crocs, and busstop to name just a few! Look out for pick pockets coz they are everywhere! Especially the women! They are masters at nicking your wallet without you knowing! apart from that Salou is fantastic for a relaxing or lively holiday. So much to do.

I have just returned from a weeks...

Sep 2005, Mr RM Maughan

I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Salou with my girlfriend. Before we arrived we read on this site that the apartments were not great but since I arrived I found out for myself that this was not true.
They were very good and we both had an excellent holiday. Murphy’s is the spot to go to and little Spanish place in town, cant remember name but you will not miss it. All in all Salou is a place worth a visit and I intend on going back in the future. The entertainment in the hotel was first class. class holiday!!!

Having read other peoples reviews...

Sep 2005, Mr P.J Quinn

Having read other peoples reviews regarding Salou Pacific saying it was a horrific hotel, I wasn’t looking forward to my stay at Salou Pacific. When I finally arrived at Salou Pacific I was really surprised at how nice and clean the hotel and the rooms were, the staff were really friendly and tried to help you the best they could. The entertainment in the hotel was brilliant every night with Lindsay, Paul and Ann Marie.
Every morning and every evening we ate at the Texas embassy would really advise people to eat there as the food is lovely and the staff are very friendly. Overall our stay at Salou Pacific was brilliant and the apartments are clean, would strongly recommend it to people thinking about travelling to Salou.

My friend and I have just returned...

Sep 2005, Ms L Kavanagh

My friend and I have just returned from a week in Salou. I expected the hotel to be like the ballymun flats but in fairness it was very nice! The hotel had been recently renovated and the staff were ok(nicest thing i could say about them). One girl refused to give me a spare key when I was locked out even though my passport was sitting in the pigeon hole! One night security guard followed us to the room and made us very uncomfortable. I think he was giving out because it was 6.30 am!!
The pool was ok, I don’t recommend more than 3 people to stay in one room because it was not very spacious. The Irish bar is very good in the hotel, stays open till 1.30. The entertainment is brilliant! The girls were ok but one fella Paul had me laughing all night! He made a holy show of me for 4 nights! The food is ok. Don’t go to Hollywood’s I was ill after eating there.
Texas embassy is a few shops to the left of the pacific and every one there was so friendly and the food id beautiful! The food in the pacific is too dear! The nightlife is good. Murphy’s is brill they showed all the hurling and gaa matches there. Christy mc graths, Charlie Chaplin’s close at 3 then its on to snoopy and crocs till half 5! There’s also a late pub that stays open til 9am! Don’t let yours go to kiss or Diablo’s. Alot of rude Spanish and Africans who try everything on!
All in all I loved Salou and Salou pacific. I would recommend anyone without small children to go there! I had a ball. Just watch the water and 20 john player are only 2.85!!!!

These apartments were the worst...
1 / 10
Jul 2005, Ms M Murphy

These apartments were the worst I’ve ever seen.
The floors were filthy, the balcony railing was unsteady (we were on the 4th floor), the presses were hanging off the walls, and the toilet seat was broken.
Whilst trying to open the bedroom door it came off the runners. Not a kettle or toaster in sight as they needed to be hired (with a deposit).the balcony door wouldn’t lock so our possessions could have been taken any time. there was so much ice in the ice box that you couldn’t close the fridge door.
The unfriendly unfit-to-do-their-job reception staff lost our key one day and had put it in the wrong box for the room number.
At least we actually got a room as whilst waiting to book into our apartments, three families ahead of us were told there was no apartment for them. The reps weren’t even there to sort everything out for them.
If you are coming to Salou, do not stay here.

I stayed at the Salou Pacific in June...
5 / 10
Jun 2005, Miss J Law

I stayed at the Salou Pacific in June this year. I found the apartments to be basic, but always clean, the maids came into the room every other day, every morning.
The staff in the hotel bar where great overall, apart from the odd one but you get that anywhere. There was good entertainment throughout the day and evening, good for the children.
Salou itself is brilliant, enough bars and restaurants to go and eat in. I would recommend Chippies for food the staff are really friendly and the food is cheap but good. Also the Shamrock for drinking.
Overall I would recommend the aparthotel to stay in and I would chose to stay in it again.

May 2005, Miss Josephine Madden

We arrived in Salou on the 28th of may 2005 with a small child we specifically requested from budget travel in limerick a nice Appartments, our holiday turned out to be the worst we ever had.
When we arrived we were disappointed with the rooms very small bed uncomfortable, not view and balconies very unsafe especially for a small child. We were broken in to on our 2nd night, our camera was stolen and a few more valuable things also, luckily they never got my handbag We still have not heard from the insurance company and have a letter of complaint sent also but as of yet no reply.
The Reps were not helpful at all cover up. On the Thursday their was a fire in one of the apts, we all had to leave the swimming pool, the lifts were also unsafe a child also got stuck in them, I had never been broken in to before it is a terrible feeling, If we don’t get any recognition from budget travel we will be taking this further, I most certainly would not recommend the Salou Pacific Apts to anyone. Nightmare Holiday.

I stayed in Salou Pacific for the...

May 2005, Miss S O'Neill

I stayed in Salou Pacific for the last week in May 2005. The rooms are tiny.
While we were there a fire broke out in the apartment next door. There did not seem to be a clear plan of what to do in an emergency. All our clothes were stinking from the smoke and when we requested that they be cleaned we were left waiting from Wednesday morning until Thursday afternoon at which stage we received our clothes back but they were WET, we had been assured that they would be ready at 20:00 on Wednesday.
I can assure you that the Hotel Mgt and Tour Operator were not helpful at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I can assure you that I will not be staying in the Salou Pacific or Travelling with Budget Travel again. I went on a holiday to relax but all I had was a nightmare.
My whole holiday was ruined..... So if intending to travel here be aware. I will say though that the fire was not the hotels fault but due to the negligence of one of the NICE holidaymakers staying there.
I was embarrassed to be Irish with some of the Language some of the other holidaymakers were using on their children....

I am so disappointed with these...

May 2005, Miss S K Keegan

I am so disappointed with these apartments, they were the size of a box room, how on earth a family could stay in that I don’t know.
The staff were so unfriendly and could barely understand English.
The entertainment was great even a fight broke out in the bar with pool ques and balls flying around, thought I came away for a break and I didn’t mean a pool break.
The best thing about the Salou Pacific that we were in walking distance of the main strip and beach, so that is where I spent my time yes out of the Salou pacific apartments.
I would definitely go back to Salou but certainly not those apartments even if I got them for free.

Just returned from Salou yesterday....
1 / 10
Sep 2004, Miss L Bratley

Just returned from Salou yesterday. Will never return to the Salou pacific--not if you paid me too! I would not recommend it to my worst enemy!
Our room was in desperate need of maintenance, the fridge didn’t close properly and was rusty and leaked. There was no kettle, we asked for one--we are still waiting for it---and we are home! A room for 4 people but only 2 of all cutlery and crockery---which was filthy.
The hotel has 3 lifts, 2 were broken when we arrived and still broke when we left! The one that did work was broken by Spanish pensioners on their 2 week free vacation--and they had the cheek to complain! But it was fixed the same day. The lift was occupied most of the days so we had to walk up to the 3rd floor on a regular basis--if the pensioners weren’t occupying the lift the maids were!
Entertainment was mostly in Spanish--- the pensioners got there about an hour before and took up all of the seats so none were left for anyone else.
The staff were unfriendly, and rude and I don’t think they have ever been taught to smile.
The food was very repetitive, lots of pork and fish, not the best but ok I suppose--- it was however well cooked--no tummy upsets for us!!
Salou itself is lovely. Port aventura is worth a visit as is ‘old Salou’. The beach is very nice and clean with children’s play areas dotted along.
Plenty of bars and restaurants with competitively priced food and drink. The ‘parrot pub’ does a mean English breakfast and MUGS of Nescafe and PG tips!! The Hollywood bar also does offer very good food.
All in all a great holiday--- just a shame the hotel let us down
We will be returning to Salou --but NOT the Salou pacific
