Submitted By: hillbillyThe pool area was very clean and there was ample sun loungers for all throughout the day.
Nissaki itself is a small and very picturesque area of Corfu with a beautiful pebble cove beach, great for snorkellling. The beauty of Nissaki is everything is just a stones throw away making it the ideal location for a relaxing holiday.

Submitted By: Mr A TomlinsonThe brochures description of a ‘snack bar’ is very misleading as it is actually a full bar with outside seating below our apt which is open until 2am and sometimes later. One evening / early morning the raucous behaviour of some drunken non-residents was so loud that we had to mention to the barman that we couldn’t sleep having been woken up at about 2am.
We tried to get on with our holiday and were out of the apartment exploring the island and having fun with the children from morning til evening and even made light of the disgusting ablution arrangements to buoy ourselves up however further alarming problems developed when we brought the state of the room to the attention of Christiana who I understand has some managerial control over the apartments. We were led to believe the accommodation was full but Monday was a change-over day so we brought the above list of complaints to her attention on Sunday, it was difficult to synchronise a liaison with Neil, the Olympic rep, and we wished to resolve the matter locally without any undue fuss or interruption to our holiday. On Sunday we were promised we could move on Monday by 3pm albeit to a 1 bed apartment. This was still above the bar but was newer accommodation and the situation with our own room was now so dire that my children were scared to go in the bathroom and my wife was quite upset at the conditions. Although she had promised a new room, Christiana appeared concerned that the cleaners had not done an adequate job of cleaning our apartment and seemed keen on us making criticism of their efforts. This was not the case; the cleaners were making the best of a bad job and the root cause of the problems pertaining to apartment 201 were that it required nothing less than a total refit by someone competent to plumb a shower, sink and toilet and a builder who could fill holes properly and fit new windows. Later on Sunday we became aware that the cleaners had revisited our apt and given the toilet a once over but once again the smells returned; it appeared the drains were either blocked or inadequate and the base of the toilet pan was corroded and the grouting cracked and broken and was constantly wet, there was also a badly repaired crack on the edge of the pan. On Monday we planned our day around switching rooms before 3pm however later that morning Christiana informed us that it was not now possible for us to move rooms as new guests were arriving. This was the last straw and my wife insisted on Cristiana experiencing the condition of our apt first hand, there were some tears and pleadings and we were left with no alternative but to insist on either a different room, alternative Olympic accommodation or I would research alternative accommodation myself. Either way, we refused to stay in the apt anymore. After a series of phone calls to the rep and researching other local accommodation we were eventually told we could have room 203 at 5pm. During the course of the day it became apparent that neither Christiana nor Fatos, the owner, take criticism well and they became remarkably defensive and, much to their dis-service, ignorant and dismissive. The rep initially stated he would attend to inspect apt 201 which prompted a sudden cover-up operation of cleaning and a strong smell of air freshener throughout not only the toilet but the whole apt and the corridor outside aswell. The rep didn’t attend or return phone calls which prompted us to make further representations to establish exactly if and when we would switch rooms. At about 2pm we were informed we could move at 5pm (not sure why 2 hours had been added to the initial 3pm deadline but it appeared cleaning of 203 had been dropped to the bottom of the schedule). Later in the afternoon I asked Christiana when the rep would arrive and she stated he would not be attending and summonsed Fatos to deal with me. Fatos insisted the matter had been dealt with and we would move rooms at 5pm however I very politely had to ask him 4 times to call the rep as I had various representations to make. Fatos was extremely evasive and offered a number of excuses in order to avoid calling the rep; his phones off, he’s at the airport, he may not have a signal, he’s already dealt with this matter and so on. Eventually he succumbed and I made an arrangement to speak with the rep later on. At 5pm we were dealt with discourteously by Christiana and although Fatos attempted to convey a manner of quiet professionalism he was once again in denial and made remarks such as : the toilet was working before you arrived etc. we didn’t witness any workmen visiting 201 or see anyone in residence for the rest of our stay. Thereafter, we were away from the apts pretty much all day. We eventually caught up with the rep and relayed the details of our poor treatment, an excellent example of which was that on departure day we vacated our apt at 9am as we had rented a boat for the day and returned about 6pm and were camped out at the pool and in the reception / bar area. We were still awaiting exact details of our departure time having been informed by the rep earlier in the week that our pick-up at the top of the road would be about 11.45pm. We spent our last evening at Mitsos and returned at about 11pm only to find the rep approach us in somewhat of a hurry a few minutes later. He was holding an Olympic form which had details of our pick-up time which was now 11.20pm and said “This was left in your pigeon hole at reception. Did no-one give it to you” I saw Christiana was manning the reception desk and was aware of our presence. We quickly gathered our belongings and wheeled our cases up the hill to the bus stop on the main road where our transport was already waiting, a welcome relief !
Although the location is generally quiet and the pool area is great, the newer accommodation is satisfactory and the public areas are well maintained, no doubt to attract passing trade, our holiday was blighted by not only the unpleasantries experienced in apt 201 but also by the illjudged response of Christiana and Fatos. The barman was great: he had an excellent approach with the children and was helpful and polite as was the lady with dark hair who works around the bar. The cleaners were reasonably hardworking and very polite although we had to ask for towels and toilet paper after nearly each visit by them.
We have stayed in the Greek islands on a few occasions and are accustomed to the issues of basic accommodation which we accept at face value as long as the facilities are clean and function properly. What we experienced this time was a misrepresentation of the accommodation details by Olympic compounded by the behaviour of the management as outlined above.
Mitsos staff were great and attentive and The Grill room was value for money and reasonable food. Vitamins up the road was well worth the walk.

Submitted By: Mr I HardieIf you're looking for luxury accommodation the Sea View is not for you however if you're happy with simple, clean, spacious rooms with air con and a fridge that works (something of a rarity in our experience) then you should certainly consider staying here. The elevated position ensures the views are to die for - remember your binoculars. The small picturesque harbour is a 5 min walk away with a choice of three restaurants. (none terrible) We also arranged water taxis at night to Agni for the Nikolas and Agni tavernas and there are other restaurants up on the main road. We hired a motor boat for the day from Fontas at the harbour which is a great day out visiting all the lovely bays up the coast. There are two supermarkets close at hand and we found Katerinas situated on the main road with steps up from behind the apartments by far the friendliest. Enjoy!

" The Nissaki Sea view apartments is... "
Submitted By: Mr R GreeneLuckily we hired a car for two days and ventured around the island and visited wonderful places such as Casiopi "not to be missed". We also went on a boat trip on a boat called "captain homer" I found it very enjoyable, so did my partner and our 5 year old.
Down sides to Nissaki- the buses don't run that often especially on a Sunday, if you want to go further a field, car hire is a must if you want to explore the island and the neighbouring resorts, taxis cost an arm and a leg.
There are about seven taverns in Nissaki four by the wonderful seafront and beach and three along the road. My favourite was a place called Vitaminse, about half a mile up the hill, and a little place just across the road from car hire shop, cheap and very good food. Mitsos at the sea front was ok, shame the food did not match it's location, very small portions, one meal I ordered was the special of the day, lamb, it came on a very small plate with six peaces of chips! Beware.
The only real moan we had was on our last day, I’d been asking the lady at the sea view through out our stay if we could pay to keep our or any room for 12hrs, as we had to vacate our apartment at mid-day and we where not being taken to the airport until 14hrs later. As there was no answer I then went to see the Olympic Rep, on asking here of our request she told me that it would be ok for our 5yrs old to sleep on one of the couches at the bar, I then told her, this was no good to us and asked her along with the owner who was standing next to her, if they knew of anywhere that we could book in to for 12hrs, but of course pay for 24hrs as you'd expect, they categorically said no they knew of no where.
I then went to look for somewhere my self, low and behold the first place I was directed to, only a 100m away from the sea view apartments was the Nissaki holiday centre, ran by a very nice man called Amilio.
He rented use a lovely apartment with all the mod con’s and with it’s own balcony as well, for 30euros, "life saver". We then enjoyed our last day of our holiday, with somewhere to stay until we where taken to the airport at 02:30.
All in all it was a great holiday in an idyllic location with only the last day slightly spoilt by the unwillingness of the Rep and the owner to help us in which was a totally justified request.

The apartments are clean and spacious, the snack bar food is lovely (home made Pizzas, Greek salads etc) also serving drinks and wonderful variety of cocktails, the pool is great and never overcrowded but best of all are the amazing views across the bay towards Corfu town (complete with dolphins in the morning).
My parties ages ranged from 10 thru to 60 and all had a fantastic time (even the stroppy teenagers).
Would recommend this accommodation to anyone. In fact having stayed here I do not want to go anywhere else. <br>

We stayed in this apartment and had a great time, we understand from the owners that this apartment is part of the original house and we felt that it was nice to see some of the original fittings had been left for us to enjoy, for a 2+ star rating this was a good bit better that in some we have stayed.
The staff could not do enough for us and were informative and helpful. We hope very much to return here before too long. The views from our balcony were stunning, all the local tavernas are brilliant and the local people so friendly.
P.S. I think you will find in most Greek apartments that the 1st loo roll is supplied and then it,s up to you!!
Advice: Peace, views, and lovely friendly locals
Activities: Misos and Vitamins Tavernas
Good for: Beach
