Veronica Hotel Apartments

My husband and I have just returned from one weeks stay in these apartments. It was the holiday from hell! It really was dreadful. Upon our arrival we went to our allocated room to find the bed wet due to a leaking roof. We were then changed to another room. We were not notified of the reception meeting and when we approached the rep the third day she said we would have to move apartments again as she had other people coming in booked for that room. We were moved again to another apartment and this is where the real problem began!
The whole apartment was dirty, as were the one set of towels that we were issued with. The bathroom was the worst room. Toilet seat was not fitted, the shower and curtain had deep mould on them and other tiling in the bathroom. The wash basin leaked causing an ingress of water on the floor. When we mentioned this to the manager and her two sons (who all lazed about the pool and bar all day) we were told what did we expect in self catering. When we went to make purchases from the supermarket that was advertised on site we were told it was not open - only open for water. As the nearest other supermarket was about a mile from the apartments this was not acceptable. The town was more like 2 miles from the apartments we were told it was 1500 metres.
We did not dare go in the pool for fear of catching something as we felt the apartments were a health hazard and the pool was never maintained. There were wasps nests over the tables around the pool. This area was also filthy.
It was an Olympic Holiday and the rep did not seem to care about our problems. We will never go to Corfu again or at least not to an apartment.

THE VERONICA APPARTMENTS AND OLYPMPIC HOLIDAYS ARE A [--] DISGRACE!!i was looking for a cheap holiday for me and my 2 grown up children,this place was recommended to me by the tour operator,she made it sound perfect but without reading reviews i went ahead and booked it(WHAT A MISTAKE!!)i rang back the same day to try and change it after reading reviews but was fobbed off for 4 days till my tickets arrived,so i prepared myself for the worst and wasn`t surprised at all,everything i had heard about this place was true,the staff where ignorant,arrogant with a don`t care attitude.the rooms ressembled a 1950`s butlins chaley,we were told we had a 2 bed apartment but it was one room with 3 beds one of which was a rusty camp bed!on the first day we went to check out the pool area,there we`re about 2 sun beds that were`nt broke,me and my son went over to the bar we wanted to play pool but was told by the barman(george)that he was playing with his friend!!even tho he was supposed to be working.we started to play anyway and was verbally abused in greek!!we later found out that the place was up for sale for 3m euro`s!you would have to pay that again to renovate the [--].the reception area was never locked at night,everyones passport`s were on show in pigeon holes which was very disturbing,i even took mine out for 2 days nobody noticed!!everyone we spoke to on this holiday were fed up,people were trying to get transferred to other hotels but the rep wasn`t interested,there is absolutely nothing positive i can say about this place it was truely awfull!there is so much more i could write but it would take all day,all i can say is that i strongly advise anyone not to book a holiday with olympic holidays,this company is an absolute shambles!!

Went to these apartments for the second year running, all i can say is it is a lovely place clean pool and rooms, but bring back Alex and Cilla it was so much better last year when we stayed, those guys were friendly and helpful and their daughter cloudia kept all the guests laughing we wont be going back again if it is the bloke george working he messed our holiday up as we could not even getr him to serve us drinks!!

This was the worst holiday,ive ever had.
The rooms were dirty and we only saw a cleaner twice in a week.
Everytime you complained the rep, she didnt want to know, you were ok if you were buying trips then she cared.
I have been to lots of places in corfu and this had to be the worst apartments i have stayed at and ive been to basic apartments before.
I can safey say i won't be rebooking for next year!
I'll be back in Sidari!!!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! we paid £614 for one week for our honeymoon to be given a below basic accommodation. our room was at the top of the mountain with a sheer drop. The barrier fence was broken and looked like it had been broken for years. beside our room was a rubbish tip of old broken furniture. no toaster or cooker. only a two ring hob which took 45mionutes to boil water for tea. Olympic rep was very unhelpful towards customers and a long stream of compliants. Residents were leaving in their droves as we arrived, and the rep was not helpful with them at all. George at the hotel decided to cancel all entertainment so that he could watch his football on sky tv. When residents asked for him to do their drinks, they were told they would have to wait for half time. No tea or drinks available at the bar. They were constantly running out of stock. All residents dcided to bring in their own alcohol to drink around the barside. George approched me and square up to my husband giving aggresive body language and told us to take the drink to our room. As we did so, and other residents cam to our appartment, George cam to the room, and continued to be aggressive to the extent that he threatened my Husband with a hammer. The Olympic rep - Sarah never took time out to record or listen to our side of the incident, and cancelled our contract with them instantly. we got thrown off the site four days into our holiday. We then had to pay for other flights (£230) to get us home. It will be complained about, and a wrtie up to Sun newspaper is going to be made. I will state this is not a place you will enjoy for your holiday. One resident was made to sleep (three in a row beds)him his wife and 20+yr old daughter! another customer had to sleep fully clothed on a bed with toels on also because of a leaky roof. When asked to be moved, George yet again became threatenning and told him Police would be called, and Sarah sided for george and got the residents off site by making them pay extra. I drank out of an egg cup whilst my Husband had a shot glass. All other cutlery was rusty, and below standards. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE, AND DO NOT THINK I HAVE EXAGERRATED THIS IN ANY WAY. LOOK OUT FOR MORE REVIEWS ON THIS PLACE. IT IS THE PITTS!!!I COULD NOT GIVE A ZERO FOR PINTS AS IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME SO I HAVE GIVEN A 1. WASP CITY. tHERE WAS A 1 LITRE BOTTLE OF WASPS ON THE BAR COUNTER AND ALSO A CRISP BOX BELOW A WASPS NEXT IN THE RAFTERS IN THE RECEPTION AREA. THERE IS NO SUPERMARKET ON SITE AND ENTERTAINMENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO GEORGE WATCHING HIS FOOTBALL AND PLAYING ONE REGGAE RECORD CONSTANTLY THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WEEK WE WERE THERE. IT WAS LIKE CHINESE TORTURE. THE SAFE DEPOSIT BOXES ARE ONLY SMALL FREE STANDING FILES WITH DRAWS THAT COULD EASILY BE PICKED UP AND TAKEN AWAY. DO NOT USE. DO NOT PAY 20E FOR EXTRA USE OF THE ROOM ON DEPARTURE DAY - IT IS NOT WORTH IT. IT IS SUB STANDARD ACCOMMODATION. ONE RESIDENT ASKED FOR THREE SPAGHETTI BOLOGNAISE FOR A TAKEAWAY FOR THEIR ROOM. i saw staphos cook the meal and then proceed to put it in takeaway containers. because hte lid couldnt shut on the containers due to too much food in there, he decided to help himself to food from each container until it was able to be closed! no welcome drink from olympic as stated because she said the manager wouldnt allow it. i informed her it was misrepresentation of the olympic advertising and she didnt care. open electricity boxes, broken steps up the mountain to apartments, and lighting on the steps dont work. extremely dangerous. if it shuts down tomorrow, it wont be a day too soon. please do nto waster your monry at this place. we had a honeymoon from hell.

Just come back this week - overall had a great holiday - very relaxing. It seems the reviews are very mixed - you either love it or hate it, there's no in-between. Ok - I agree that the setting of the apartments was not ideal - it was a steep climb up to the rooms and would be very difficult for anyone with any sort of limited mobility or breathing dificulties (particularly in the heat), and the rooms are very basic - but clean. My husband and I are in our 40s and have 2 teenage children - once we got used to the hike up the hill, it wasn't an issue. We spent many hours by the pool and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment is virtually non-existent (apart from Ozzy O's Karaoke show on a Tuesday night), so if you want some atmosphere you have to go into town - once there you are spoilt for choice. Our favourite eatery was Enjoy. A local fast food & takeaway place that was cheap, cheerful and run by a very friendly family. The walk to town is a fair way and as everyone else has said, is along a very busy, unlit road with no footpaths - definitely do not recommond walking it in the dark - go for the taxi (and they will take you up to the top of the hill when you get back to Veronica)! Overall, we enjoyed the stay - but next time would look for something a bit nearer to the local town.

Reading these reviews before our holiday my husband and myself where very worried.
However, We had the best holiday we have had in years. Staff all very friendly and worked hard, George, stefos,Alexandra and the two cleaners thankyou for a wonderfull holiday. This is a 2 star hotel so you wont get the Hilton, Basic but clean and had everything needed. water would be cold in the mornings as its solar heated. Rooms where cleaned every other day.Yes there is a steep hill as stated in brochure, but if you have no mobility problems this is a good way of burning of some of the delicious food cooked by stefos. The only thing i will say is the road is dangerous but from what ive seen this applies to most of the island. We booked taxis for the evening 7 euros to town centre which the hotel staff done for us. Theres never any problems getting a taxi wherever you are, the tavern or any shop will call one.Breathtaking views and a good location to beach.Try captain Homers boat trip from messongi river you wont regret it.
So, if you go to the veronica and remember this is a 2 star hotel you'll have a great time.Money cant buy the friendly atmosphere from this family run hotel.

I've been on many holidays and stopped (by bad choice) at some poor places but never felt the need to leave a review. However this place deserves the effort. The pool/bar/reception is quite a way up a steep hill but the rooms are even further up and by further I mean half way up a mountain side. Nothing is close by, the town/beach is a good 30 mins walk away on a busy narrow unlit bendy road. Please be aware that this place has a major problem with wasps nests! We demanded a move after 1 day and got it to the town centre and had a fantastic holiday from then on.

Just got back from Corfu. Stayed at the Veronica Hotel Apartments and to be honest was very dissapointed with everything, the hotel itself, the location and the lack of entertainment and things to do!!
I have booked basic hotels in the past but this was taking the biscuit! The temperature nearly hit 100 whilst over there and the rooms did not even have air conditioning, so had to hire a couple of fans 40 euros straight away!
The hill that people talk about is so much worse then what has been stated. When you get up the initial slope, you then come across an even bigger one, your apartments are right up in the hills! Any one with walking difficulties just forget about staying here, will be impossible for you to get up!
Hot water kept going every other day, ended up having freezing cold showers!!
Location - dreadful nothing nearby at all. Nearest nightlife approx 20min walk away, along a very dangerous winding road with no pathway or lights what so ever, and crazy drivers wizzing past at 100mph, my advice would be to get a taxi into town alot safer!
Entertainment or should I say lack of entertainment was a major problem. I am in my mid 20's and my partner early 30's and there was just nothing what so ever to do. All there was was a pool bar which would stay open till 12ish, pool table - not working!! No televisions, no film nights, no evening entertainers , just nothing!!
Probably the worst holiday I have had, and been on quite a few. Do not book with Olympic either, worse company ever, so unhelpful, reps well the ones who actually turned up at our hotel were miserable, and in general not helpful at all.
The only good thing I can say about this place is the bar staff, they were quite friendly I suppose, shame the hotel didnt match their friendliness!!!

Beautiful setting but the guy George who works there and is apparantly one of the owners is an idiot, my girlfriend and i witnessed him being in the pool more than behind the bar unless he was sitting with his girlfriend and then you had no chance of getting a drink! We were told the bar would stay open late but as soon as his friends turned up he closed it. A rude obnoxious member of staff who spoilt our holiday with his dont care attitude and we witnessed a big argument amongst staff which was off putting, the rooms sare basic but clean and other than the management problem it is a nice place
