Veronica Hotel Apartments

Clean rooms with amazing view from the balcony. Really nice staff. Had a lovely time, problem with the wasps though.
Town is 10 mins walk or you can go to the beach which is 5mins. Had no problem with the hill, looks big but its not very steep. We just looked at the bright side and thought how much weight we were going to loose!
I would definitely go back, it was a holiday to remember for all 5 of us.

Stayed at Veronica last year, enjoyed it so much decided to go again this year. What a difference... Alex (who was there last year) was still there; his partner Cilla and his mum Alexandros were all trying to run the place. We stayed for 14 nights and in that time we had no electricity 3 times at least (for 4 hours at one point). We had no water on one occasion for nearly 5 hours, but we didn’t complain.
The pillows were mouldy, the third bed was a camp bed that was rusty, the cups, plates and kitchen utensils were disgusting (we went out and bought new) and as expected (same as last year) there was no kettle in the room, so we brought one over with us. We didn’t complain about any of this as the fact that we liked the location of Veronica and the beautiful pool and views made up for it.
What was disappointing was that unlike last year there was no evening entertainment at all and when you went to the bar for a drink etc you felt like you were being a nuisance. What really upset me the most was that on our departure, we passed on to other people in the apts near us, the kettle, sandwich toaster and fan (all that we had bought ourselves) and left the other things in our apt. But as we waited for the coach to collect us, Alex accused us of taking a kettle that belonged to the apts. We explained that we had brought our kettle from England and passed it on and offered to let him check our luggage. He still didn’t seem to believe us. This really spoilt the holiday. So unlike last year I would recommend Moriatika but definitely not the Veronica apts.

Staff-
First of all the staff, made our holiday with their kind and helpful attitudes. They are all lovely and would love to go back just to see them.
The hill-
When we first arrived Alex kindly drove our luggage up to our rooms and then we walked up the hill but its not so bad. For all the people who complain about having to walk up there when they first arrived, I’m sure if they politely asked they could get a lift up there.

Rooms-
The rooms are pretty basic as everyone has said, but are nice and clean.
The food-
The food at the hotel is not over priced, we would pay more in England and Anna does fantastic eggs. If you are going out for a meal we would highly recommend the Rose Garden.

Rooms were dirty, pillows covered in mould, cooking facilities are a joke and the staff very unpleasant.
My worst holiday ever, complained to Olympic when we got home and they weren't interested. I would never book another Olympic holiday.

Having read some unpleasant comments about the Veronica, we were not expecting it to be such a lovely hotel, with such a good range of lovely food.
The staff were so helpful & friendly; the rooms clean & spacious; the pool wonderful with it's option of sun or shaded areas; the area just right, with bars, many restaurants & shops or a 20 minute walk to a busier area - also within easy access of roads to other island towns.
All in all the four of us, ages 52, 55, 58 & 59 had a lovely holiday, made extra special by the Veronica hotel.

When I first arrived at veronica's I couldn’t believe the size of the hill we had 2 walk up every night to get to our rooms!! But after a few days there we got used to the hill and were able to joke about it with the other guests at the hotel.
The rooms where clean and the maids where round every day cleaning the rooms. The view was lovely.
In the town moritika there is night life which cost 7 euros in taxi. There are a number of restaurants and bars to keep the whole family occupied.
The staff at the hotel where the best and help us out when ever we needed it and advised us on what bars to attend. So would like to say a big thank you to Alex. Justine and Bev. They where great!!!
Over all I would say I would go back to veronica because I had a lovely stay there but don’t think it is suitable for people with walking difficulties.

I found this holiday a holiday to remember. When I first got there the hill scared me but I soon got used to it. The wasps can be a bit of a problem but if you ignore them they will ignore you.
The pool is a nice size and a great place to hang round in the day time. At night time we went to Rose gardens for dinner, the people there was really friendly, and they had excellent food, they also had a little play area for the little ones.
The entertainment back at the hotel was excellent "Ozzy o" is a karaoke night. There were film nights and A "funky monkey" night which was another karaoke night.
I had a great laugh with the people there, and who made my stay there very pleasant.
So many thanks to Alex, Bev, Justine and Adam.
I would definitely come back.

After reading the reviews we were well prepared for our arrival and the apparent long walks into the resort. Quite a trek and we would definitely recommend taking a torch!
The rooms were very basic but as we only used it as a base to change and sleep couldn't complain. The pool area was lovely perhaps the best I have been to. Super views over to the Greek mainland and if you like planes the apartments were on the flight path to the airport- though this was not noisy!
Justine made us feel very welcome and offered lots of advice on places to visit, places to eat and also helped in the hire of a car.
The resort was quite quiet lots of cocktail bars and we fully recommend the Apaloosa. Also the Pizzeria next door was excellent-people were queuing on the street for tables so go early! Among other places we ate at were the Rose Garden. Mandelena and fully recommend (as we did to many guests) the 75 steps which is in Mesonghi. Super food and super views!

We also read the reviews and have to say that we among other people there felt like we were staying at Fawlty Towers. The pool is indeed fantastic and great to lounge around as the shingle beaches in Moraitika are a good mile walk away. Staff members were very friendly, some more than others but it was a shame to witness arguments which led to staff members walking out. Minors were sold copious amounts of alcohol by some members of bar staff and this was quite disturbing to witness.
The resort itself was lovely, very quiet with many nice places to eat. We were recommended 75 steps by 2 other guests and have to say it was well worth the visit for the panoramic view over the town.
Also the Rose garden was very nice - wear your mosquito spray though!! There was also a superb pizzeria the first one you come to on the main street. Very cheap and gets very busy.
Hire a car, it is worth it! And carry a torch for the long dark walk back to the apartments. Watch out for the rats and snakes!
