Me and three other friends stayed here end of august 2010, had read some bad reviews about stuff being stolen- but we paid for a safety deposit box and just left all our valuables in there and hid it under clothes in the wardrobe (it was nailed into the wardrobe anyway).
Had an amazing week, the location is ideal- about 30seconds to the beach and the pool was lovely, didnt even have to pay for sun loungers.Our rep was really helpful and we paid for all the excursions, the booze cruise was insane :)Was also really close to the strip, about a 3 min walk, but tucked away enough that you didn't hear the music when you stumbled home at 7am...
Kavos is so good as a party resort, easy to get cheap drinks, we managed to persuade the barman to give us an hour free bar for 5euros!
Beds arent particularly comfortable, but you get what you pay for, and staff are really helpful (some lights didnt work, we told them and an hour later they were fixed)
Best week ever and will definitely be going back :)

Ignore the previous bad comments just been for 12 nights and it was ace no complaints what so ever!

my friends and i stayed at umbrella beach hotel for 1week in june 2008 and loved it so went back for 2 weeks in august 2009. the weather was so hot we struggled to have a good nights sleep with the heat,(wouldnt dare open the window due to mosquitos) the cleaner overcharged for the smallest things so i would recommend to keep the things in the apartment in the orgional condition! we got warned alot by all of the other holiday makers - and workers - about thieft, although we never had a problem with it ourselfs. BABIS who owns the pool and bar area was lovely, got to know him really well and he went out of his way to look after us at the poolside where we spent most of our days. i would only really recommend Kavos in general to party going teens as the strip becomes a mass drunken scene by 11pm. you should definatly try CHAPLINS BAR!

My husband and I love Kavos and went 2 years running. However on our last night I woke to a man trying to get through our window. Luckily my husband scared him off but it ment we didn't dare go to sleep for the rest of the night. When we looked at the window the man had pulled all the seal out and was taking the glass out the window. It still scares me to this day what might have happened if I hadn't woken up. I hope anyone thinking of staying here uses this as a warning.

Enjoyable holiday however, our apartment got broken into on the first night of our holiday and our money, phones, cameras etc were stolen during the night (my mother woke to find a man in her room). We tried to report this but the bar staff were not interested and we were told to wait until lunch time to see the rep to sort it out.
Other than that, it was an enjoyable holiday!

This is an amazing holiday..i would recommend it to everyone!
the people are so nice in kavos..every1 talks to you like you have known them for years
on the other hand the people at umbrella beach are so ignorant...
ther was only one man that i personally liked at umbrella that owned the bar and the pool..even though i think he loves his pool to much (anyone who has stayed at umbrella will understand). I personaly think that umbrella beach should have a 24hour bar to stop crimes from happening there.
The cleaner/owner tries to get money out of you..
make sure that wen you get into your appartments that you check everything and complain about things that you think should be better..other wise the cleaner WILL try to get money from you.
Wen she is cleaning your room all she does is gets rid of empty bottles and tidys your beds which does not include changing them!!!
You have to pay 10euro for clean bedding and towels which you should have already paid for. the rooms are not perfect but they have everyfing that is needed!
On the coach goin to kavos dropping people off..i would say that umbrella beach was the best and cleanist appartments that i seen!!
There wos one night wen my boyfriend and i stayed in because he had been sick during the day..and we came close to gettin robbed. A lad tried to get into our appartment but luckily we was in.
The same night a man who lived in a differnt appartment close by came and asked us if we had seen a lad with blonde hair which we discovered was an english lad who was working over there who robbed the man while he wos asleep outside his appartment (even robbed his jewellery which was around his neck and wrist)
if you go to umbrella make sure that you lock all doors and at night when your in the appartment that you keep the key inside the door
The night life in kavos is AMAZINNN!! We loved itt!!
It has beat everywere that i have been to so far and it makes my home town nite life seem boring in comparison. umbrella is only 5mins away from the night life which was great
Umbrella beach is right next to the beach which has alot of watersports which you have access to..the downside to the beach is that you have to pay to use the sunbeds which is a first for me but is really common in greece
there was alot of places to eat that were really nice..weird thing is..the food seems to be cheaper then what the drinks were..For example at umbrella english breakfast are 3 euro and so is a glass of ribena.

the umbrella beach is agreat place to stay in kavos it situated perfectly 2 mins from the strip an on the beach. the pool is great and the staff around the pool are to. the rooms arnt perfect but they have all you need. and all the balconies face each other and its like 1 big party when everyone gettin ready.

We booked this holiday as a last minute deal in October and when we arrived we were shocked to discover our apartment was absolutely filthy and our rooms incredibly uncomfortable. We complained to the hotel who just shrugged it off. After two nights however, our apartment was broken into and we were robbed (this wasn't as bad as a group of guys who were staying in the apartment opposite us in the same hotel who were robbed twice). We arrived back just in time to scare off the burglars but our lock was busted and during the night we heard someone trying to break in through the window again. The Umbrella Apartments was a disgusting place; we informed the hotel manager who didn't care at all and were moved the next day to a hotel in Sidari (a lovely resort in the north of the Island) where we filed a police complaint and tried to put our experience at the Umbrella Apartment behind us.

i booked this holiday as a cheap last minuite i found the appartments uncomfortable dirty and very basic the staff moaned about the kids in the pool we could not sit on the balcony because it leaked in and was flooded i would not reccomend it to any one with kids its for young couples only due to the filth that was written over the furniture about the holiday reps its not for kids to read. the beach was full of rubbish i would not go back never

I travelled to this hotel on 4th July with 7 other girls. We arrived at 7 in the morning after travelling all night and were a bit worried after seeing some of the other places others had been dropped off at before us. However once we arrived we were pleasantly suprised. we had the rooms overlooking the pool that are like 2 floor apartments and had huge balconies that we watched the sunrise on.
the rooms: very clean when you first arrived but sheets and towels only changed once a week even if you offer to pay. ther is a list of prices on the wall for breakages but we lost a key and it only cost 5 euros to replace and we dropped millions of glasses and never got charged for them. Its strange not being able to flush the toilet paper and the maid doesnt like coming into your room of you are asleep so make sure you try to get up to get the bin emptied. we had to pay 35 euros for the fan and saefty deposit box but a lack of air condtioning made the fan essential and we weresnt gotin to risk our spends for 5 euros each!
we paid 40 euros between 8 of us to keep one of our rooms on til 8pm as we werent getting picked up until 23.45 this was definatly worth it as the tiolets by the pool were not very nice and non of us fancied gettin dressed in them!
the pool: the pool is owned separatly from the hotel as it seems are most of the pools in kavos! they are open to everyone but we never saw anyone not from the hotel at the pool. there are plenty of sunbeds that are free of charge adn are cleaned everynight by the owner. please be awware that you are not allwoed to eat your own food or drink by the pool. he isnt being greedy its something to do with tax and it seemed like he felt a bit uncomfortable asking us to take it away so please dont. the food is delicious by the pool and drinks arent expensive.
the pool is very clean and he washed your feet if you come up from the beach to make sure it stays sand free. this pool is the mans pride and joy so everywhere is spotless unlike the beach which is disgusting. my freind got glass in her foot that cost 65 euros at the doctors and the water looks disgusting so we steered well clear!
overall we all loved this hotel and it would have been perfect if it had air conditioning as it was 42 degrees when we were ther and this made sleeping after a night out very uncomfortable.
