Our first impression of this hotel was amazing when we arrived; the room was spacious and only 30 metres away from the beach. It was far enough away from the strip you could not hear the music at nights.
A big downfall was the fact that everything in this hotel costs a lot of money, we felt that uncomfortable using things in case we broke anything because there was a replacement price list on the wall. The list included everything in the room including a magnetic key ring and if you lost this you would be forced to pay 70 euros!!! The list went on and on with one ridiculous price after another.
Money was a big issue at this hotel. We had to pay 2euros a day just to use the hotels sun beds!
After questioning this they say they use the money to keep the beach clean, they must not do a very good job as most of the beach was filled with litter.
There is a lot of sea weed also on the beach and in the sea.
The maid did not change the bedding all week or give us fresh towels. The main complaint I would have though was the fact we was left without hot water all week at nights and was forced to have cold showers, we complained on the second night about this and was told we would have to manage for that night which we were fine with but by the time we left there was still no sign of the problem being fixed.
Approx 3 groups of people complained about this when we stayed there. Really enjoyed my holiday though just wish we had picked a different hotel.

We stayed at the Umbrella Beach for 7 nights in August 2006. We booked this very last minute and the holiday was very cheap.
The apartments were ok, they are situated in a quieter area of Kavos although only 5 mins from all the bars and clubs. The pool area was quite nice, but the pool had so many chemicals in it my bikini and my husband’s shorts got ruined, so just don't wear anything white and you should be fine!!
So whilst the apartments were ok and appeared to be the best accommodation Kavos had to offer, I can honestly say I have never been to a bigger scum hole than Kavos, its smells pretty bad due to the poor sewerage system, the beach is not great so anyone looking for a relaxing, pleasant holiday should not choose Kavos!!
