Brilliant!

I stayed at the Olive Grove Trees Apartments in July 2011 and had the best holiday ever! At 17, it was the first holiday myself and my 2 best girlfriends were away together alone. The staff and reps were extremely helpful! The rep made an effort to contact us at the poolside bar every day. Even when our light fizzled out (because we accidentally left it on all night) and I lost our safety deposit box key, all they wanted to do was help and give us free shots! A safety deposit box and air conditioning are all payable by the reception and totally worth it!
The only downside is there isn't much kitchen equipment in the rooms apart from a travel hob, fridge, some cutlery & plates and a sink. However, as there were more than enough restaurants in the strip we dined there every night and lived on pringles and cereal during the day from the supermarket just outside the hotel.
The location was perfect! Just on the edge of the strip so there wasn't a trek to get to any bars, but it was just far enough away from the main bars and clubs that stay open until the crack of dawn for it to be quiet when you want it to be. However, the beach isn't terribly close, it did take about 10-15 minutes to walk in the heat but the beach wasn't exactly spectacular. You'd be better off hanging around by the pool.
I will definitely be returning here in the future!

Rep let us down again

We have just come back from 2 weeks in the Olive Grove 23rd September -7th October . Weather was fantastic hot every day ,however as there were not very many people in the resort of Kavos we were biten very badly by mosquitos every day . I came back with over 40 bites. The rooms were very basic with a travel hob in the kitchen. We were in room 18 (up stairs on the left hand side as you came into the complex) For the first week we were woken up every morning at between 4am and 5am by 6 idiots below us. They would put music on(loudly) and continue to party ,then they would then sleep for a couple of hours 9am to 12 pm and then start again. This was reported to the rep and owners who instead of asking them if they would keep the noise down asked us if we wanted to move rooms! As per usual the rep let us down (we went to kos on an Olympic holiday about 4 yrs ago!) by not informing us that the resort would be closing down as it was end of season i.e every day a bar or restaurant would close. By the last day (Thursday 6th October ) there was only 2 karaoke bars ,the Fountine bar ,the Argey Bargy ( Chinese / Indian ) restaurant and Eve's restaurant-and these all closed on the Thursday even the bar at Olive Grove ran out of beer. .As the last day was Friday the 7th October and no further people were arriving in the resort or at Olive Grove you would have thought we would have been able to have our rooms kept free of charge till our coach arrived but they wanted 10 euros per person to keep room till 6pm saying they still had to pay for a cleaner that day ,as this was the last day wouldn't it be better if the cleaner came back on the Saturday and let us have the rooms f.o.c !!! How ever ,we hired a car out for 3 days so we did make sure we had a nice time and also we met some nice people. Over all i don't think we will be going back to Kavos ,not because it was a young peoples resort ,but because of the Olympic holiday rep who was rude and un helpful.

During my time in Olive grove in september 2011 I was physically attacked by the night watchman. I am a aged 18 female and only 5ft, and i was deeply upset by the attack. during the attack the man pushed my forcefully 3times and then after learning that we were staying in the hoetl he justified his actions by saying we were being noisey.
the rooms are old fashioned and basic, our shower flooded every day and we had a travel hob in the kitchen. there is a balcony which the whole floor shares and our room door did not lock (when we reported this to our rep he did nothing). the atmosphere of the hotel is okay but i was grateful to only be there for a week. during our stay we be-friended people within the hotel and they told us their hotel room was great, we then visited their room and it looked like a different hotel. the rooms at the back of the hotel are well decorated however i would not return due to the lack of action about the night watchman.
i recommend young women not to go to this hotel.

For my holiday it was perfect and exactly what me and my friends needed. 11 18year old girls went July 2010 and had the best time ever. Im not sure what families (especially young ones) would enjoy Kavos as a destination but I think they'd still like Olive Grove.
I think they did a big refurbishment before the summer because everywhere looked freshly painted and really clean. The rooms were basic, but that meant we didnt have alot to break! Small bathroom, kitchen and conjoining balconies. It was very green and the pool/bar areas wasn't claustrophobic and again clean. They put us in apartments on the 1st floor, and I dont know whether this was intentional because we were all girls but we felt safe. The location of the place is perfect, on the end of the strip so that you dont have hundreds of people going past the place and yet you can still get to the centre of everything in 3minutes. Also means youre not walking in the dark late alon late at night to get back.
The people that ran the place were lovely to us, found us extra sunbeds on the one day we ran out, rescued a friends dress off the roof when it blew off the balcony.
All in all I think its perfect for groups of teenagers! and definitely great value for money, I've stayed in alot more expensive places on family holidays with very similar standards.
Oh and in terms of Kavos generally; Crash Bar, Rolling Stone, Buzz, Rodneys Watermelons, and Olympus are all amazing. Drinks ridiculously cheap, especially if you're in a big group as they'll often to bulk deals to get your custom and to get the places looking full :)

8 girls and I stayed in the Olive tree appartments in the middle of August and would highly recommend it to any party goers. The rooms provided all the essentials and our friends staying at another hotel said that our appartments were like "mansions" compared to theirs. The pool was ideal and the food by the pool was so yummy. The people who ran it were so lovely and always happy to help. The location was perfect, it was situated just off of the strip, which prevented any of the noise keeping you awake, and yet it was near enough to walk in and out of the centre of the strip within 5 minutes. We would happily return to Olive tree x

Me and two other mates all 19 stayed at the olive grove trees at the end of august, we found the accomodation was basic but met our needs of a place for a base we had a litle kitchen to cook which we did a couple of times, but we found it was cheaper to go out most of the time. We found the best breakfast was at the forum bar where we got an english breakfast and a cup of coffee/orange juice for 3 euro 50, which was about as cheap as it comes and the food we couldnt complain with. Eating in the evening the best place we went to was the tex mex reteraunt which served some of the best chicken wraps i have ever had, and the most freshly made cocktails we had on the holiday, however this was a bit more expensive, but well worth it there are also plenty of places to eat out on a budget and pr's always offer deals. Althugh the pr's might seem annoying to some people we found if you stop and listen to there offer you find the best offers and had a bitof a laugh with them, it didnt take long for a few of them to recognise us. For drinking we found it best to walk to the other end of the strip and make our way back towards the apartment, that we way we made a night of it eating and drinking, we found the best places were stonned cafe/bar this had a good offer with cocktails and other drinks to get us warmed up for the night, and the fountain bar if we wanted a quiter drink the fountain bar served the best cocktails at a good price for 3 euros and usually gave us a shot with each coaktail so not to bad. during the day we went to the beach and found the best beaches were outside of kavos so we took a bit of a walk to find some cleaner beaches to chill out during the day, and you generally find if you go out of the strip things are cleaner but that is to be expected, but to really experience the island you have to go out of the main strip and off the beat and track to find some nice places, other days we sat by the pool in the apartments which was very well maintained and clean and a good place to meet other people staying at the apartments and talk about the night before etc, also the pool bar served some decent food and drinks taht we again couldnt complain with, and the owners were very helpful of any information you needed whilst the olympic reps werent around, the holiday reps were fair enough they gave us the information we needed but we did not really see them much after the first day, the only trips we can recomend is the booze cruise as this gives you a trip to mainland grecce a brilliant bbq meal and drinks on the beach as well as plenty of fun and games in the afternoon for a fair price we paid around 50 euros and thought it was well worth it. overall we come back feeling like we had an amazing holiday it was the first "lads holiday" we had been on and we are glad we chose Kavos as the place is generally friendly and full of people just going to have a laugh and a good time. W e enjoyed it that much we think we will go back again. hope this information helps.

Stayed at the Olive Grove Apartments, also known as the Olive Tree Apartments for 2 weeks. There was myself and my husband and our two daughters aged 16 and 19. The apartments are basic and clean, good for if you just want to use it for a base. The apartments cater for the young party goers, would not recommend these apartments for families with small kids and if you are looking for peace and quiet. The apartments mainly accommodated groups of girls and boys roughly from the age of 18 - 25. The swimming pool is clean and well maintained, the pool bar served snacks and drinks all day and not over priced either. Gregoty is the bar manager and caters for your needs. The apartments are family run, and the family could not do enough for us. The apartments are located just before the start of the strip, so you are not right in heart of the noise and partying. It is a shame that some of the youngster spoil things by being over the top and causing trouble and breaking things. Over all the holiday was good for our kids, not so good if you are looking for quiet evenings or being able to cater for yourself within the apartments.
Places to go, Olympia and Terrys resturant serve great food, Niko's pizza takeaway is great. The Net bar did a full english breakfast for 1.90 euro, bargain if you are on a budget. Tango bar is great to sit and have a drink and watch the crowds go by, if you are a family Maria's karaoke bar is a good place to go, not overly loud but Maria makes you welcome and is always checking to see you are ok.

My brother(24) and i(26) stayed at the olive grove for 2 weeks in july/august 99 yes 99 and we had the best time ever , yes we went with the group 2wenty's and paid the expensive tour prices on the first day . just do the booze cruise, bar crawl and stag and hen night.
the apartments were clean and enough cooker rings/fridge and bathroom with lots of lovly cold water high pressure shower, which is needed when your in 40'c all day or hide in the movie bars and drink all day ,go home to change and then go out again and drink again till the weeeee hrs in the morning.
The family who run the complex are fantastic and helpfull.
Pardon my french but its the dogs boxxxxks and i would go back again when/if i get the chance.
Good restaurants DRUNKEN SQUID + THE ONE NEXT DOOR DRAGON SOMETHING
Dont know if its still there but there was americain one and a texicain one. failing that there was maybe still is a man with a hot food kart roaming the middle of the strip at early hours of the morning. with the goldern archers sign on it.
Amstel bottle is/was the local lager . buy the big bottles in the crate take back to your room /fridge drink them in your room while getting ready. after you finish them take crate and bottles back and collect your deposit or trade in for another case.. enjoy as i did..

My husband and I have just got back from Kavos and had a great time, Olive tree apartments is an ideal location, it's right at the beginning of the nightlife, there is a supermarket about half a minute's walk away and plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep!! The pool area at Olive Grove is nice and the food and drinks at the bar are very reasonably priced. We found it a bit strange to begin with, as it doesn't have a reception area, but its a family run business, there is always someone behind the bar and the owner is never that far away!!!! The only complaint I had was the room service. We were there for 2 weeks and our towels were only changed once, as was our bedding. Luckily we brought extra towels so it wasn't too much of an issue. Oh and you had to buy your own toilet roll, but that's the same in most of the hotels in Kavos!!!! Apart from that we had a great time!!! I would definietly recommend TKD's restaurant for a meal, it was amazing!!! Face bar was nice to chill out and watch a DVD if you were hung over from the night before!!!! Oh and beware of the mosquito's, they are vicious, so take lots of repellent and room spray with you.

I recently stayed at the Olive Grove Apartments with my best friend, overall our experience was a good one, but thought I'd summarise some pointers for future visitors!
Our apartment was generally in good repair, however the cleanliness of the bathroom was a little poor. If you suffer with not being able to sleep in 30 degrees of heat - do ensure that you secure a room with air con that you can hire. Our room did not, we rented a freestanding fan for 14 euros however this didn't serve any useful purpose, so every minute spent in the apartment was spent sweating profusely!
I CANNOT RECOMMEND STRONGLY ENOUGH investing in some good quality mozzie repellant, luckily we did, and were only bitten 2-3 times each. Those who clearly hadn't, were covered with huge bites that looked like welts! You could tell who had bothered and who hadn't, the mozzies are everywhere! It also helps a little to repel the wasps, which there are many of, however if you can be patient and ignore them they tend to go away. I only saw one person stung by a wasp at our pool during our stay.
The pool bar is nice enough, sells some basic food (overpriced - 4 euros for a tuna sandwich) and cocktails.
Big warning to anyone with a sensitive stomach (which luckily I don't have - but my friend did) dont have ice in your cocktails! It's generally tap water and will make you unwell. Stick to bottled drinks as far as you can as everything is watered down (with tap water!!). I'm no big drinker, but I happily knocked back around 10 cocktails (3 would floor me at home) and was still completely clear headed, goes to show the difference! Buying water, make sure you buy litre bottles in packs of 6, which cost 1.60 euros, if you buy them individually they're .80 euros each! Go figure!
The owner of the apartments and his family are very nice, providing you are polite and respectful he'll go out of his way to do things for you. Upset him, and be prepared to run! :)
In terms of places to go, there's only one bar I'd recommend and that's Forum Karaoke bar. Tommy Polyfilla the dj and the staff there are just simply fantastic! Brilliant entertainment every night!
For food, TKD's is a must, the staff again are just amazing, friendly, not pushy, happy to give you information and recommendation. The food is fab, cocktails even better (these are REAL cocktails) and the chill out room is wonderful. Look out for Rodney the kangaroo on the beach and make sure you say hi!
The beach isn't ideal, the sand is artifical and a bit grubby, it sticks to you whereas normal sand would wash off in the sea. However if you wear flip flops to walk on it and move away from the bar areas, you can go for a nice swim in clear water uninterrupted!
As for trips, we did the blue lagoon day trip - DONT BE FOOLED! We were at the blue lagoon for all of 10 mins!!!! Which was a real shame, it was a bit whistlestop for me, no time to relax or enjoy anything, and the boat was overcrowded so I had to sit in the most uncomforable place on the boat! Book through an independant travel agent and you'll get all the space you need, we saw it for ourselves!
Anyhow, that's enough to keep you going I think!

Me and my partner have just come home from a 2 week holiday from kavos and it was not what we had anticipated! the hotel well if you could call it that...has no reception area so room service is a no no, is just a bunch of apartments around a nice clean pool area, with a pool bar and snacks service, the hotel is self catering, baring in mind their are no decent supermarkets around and the 5 mile strip that is kavos is full of restaurants and bars the nearest big supermarket out there called mega market is a 25 euro return taxi ride away noway could you walk there.... here they sell everything much cheaper than the supermarkets near the hotel who's idea of a meal is pot noodles or soup. However the restaurants around kavos are cheap and cheerful you can get a 2 course dinner for around 5-7 euros or go to TKD's (highly recommended!!!! very very very good quality food run by friendly australian couple!)and get a very decent meal quite pricy tho but deffinatly worth a visit while your in kavos! back to the hotel... very clean the cleaner comes regularly and supplies you 1 complimentary toilet roll as its self catering you have to provide the rest once thats runs out. the cleaner only supplies 1 towel per guest but just ask her for more and she will provide more at no extra cost. rooms are lovely and big and very basic our room had a kettle and no toaster other rooms had a toasters but you can't hire these fans are for hire at 2 euros a day although if your room has air conditioning its 45 euros a week...bit much we thought so we stuck to a fan. if you have a fear of wasps kavos is no good to you because they are everywhere! lay your towel down and you'll get swamped especially at the beach. beware of the massive hornetts because there sting is highly dangerous no pharmacy job you'll get rushed to hospital.... but their not common as the wasps you'll only see a few. the hotel i personally would not recommend to families i would not recommend kavos to anyone under the age of 16 as there is quite frankly nothing for children! not one single restuarant provides childrens menus or smaller portions for that matter the place is purely there for lads holidays girly holidays booze holidays just plain partying not even for couples really. i really enjoyed my holiday it was a fantastic experience especially if you want to get blitzed!!!! i have never drunk so much in my life they literally throw the alcohol your way the promo girls give you booze offers one promo offered us for 5 euros each 4 cocktails 4 shots and a bottle of champagne another 5 euros 4 cocktails 16 shots 4 vodka jelly shots its rediculous! but hilarious. the music and nightlife is excellent although the hotel is on the strip your far away enough that if ur sick of the noise nd drunks you can go back to your room an it will be peaceful! i recommed that if you go on excursions you go independantly as its cheaper than goin thru the rep ther excursion office is along the strip next to the sex shop. aqualand excursion is a must, so is paxos anti paxos also try your hand at champagne diving, beach bbq blue lagoon. i don't recommend to do the corfu town night or day shopping as you go on a boat dumped at corfu town told to walk right and follow your own way there, they give you no map and expect you to memorise your way round corfu town... its massive!!! its like dumping you in the middle of london when you've never been there and to find your way back again....your expected to go walking to the nearest shopping centre then told to get back to the harbour of which there are 3 and ur expected to kno exactly which one your dropped off at when they dont even tell you be warned they dont wait if your late either we just about made it back an they left 3 couples behind....baring in mind its half 9 at night....so thats a big NO NO it also costs 27 euros! if you do fancy your hand at shopping at corfu town go by bus its 4 euros each way last bus coming bck to corfu is 8.00 at night if you leave at 9.00 you've got all day there much better option than wastin 27 euros! also go to the reps welcome meeting other than that have a lovely time!!!!! and don't say i didnt warn you.....kavos really isnt what you expect!
