This has got to have been my best...
9 / 10
Jul 2006, Mr B Lawrence

This has got to have been my best holiday ever. If you are looking for a crazy and great night out then Kavos is the place to go. There are so many bars to choose from that unfortunately I can’t tell you a lot about all of them but I do recommend the buzz bar, crash bar, venue and the fire bar. If you are thinking about going to the foam party in the sex club then I do recommend that you go especially, if you like hardcore dance music and soaking wet girls. As for the accommodation, the Oula is situated about 10 mins away from the nightlife and is definitely very peaceful during the day (if you are awake). The only downsides to the Oula is that you do have to pay 2 euros a day for a sun bed which isn’t much really unless you’re a cheapskate. The other downside is that they frown upon loud noise in the early hours. We found this out with they issued us a final warning on our second day. Apart from that it is a friendly place especially George, Helen and yanis (hanky kanky) and the food from the pool bar was excellent and reasonably priced. This was an outstanding holiday and I would definitely go back again next year.

Hotel was very nice but as mentioned...

May 2006, Miss N Smith

Hotel was very nice but as mentioned by others, 2 euros for sun bed per day, no toilet roll provided and you need to check very carefully for damages in room. Only 10 min walk to town but road to hotel can be dark at nights, would recommend a torch just in case! Hotel rooms basic but have what you need, there are no shower curtains/cubicles in Greece so be warned floors get extremely wet right through apartment. There was no holder for our showerhead so only one hand free to wash with, early in season there isn't much of a beach either!
As it was only 1st week of season a lot of places weren't open but can imagine during peak season very, very lively! Probably not the best place to go with young children as so many bars and not enough to do with the kids.
Would definitely recommend John and Georginas cocktail bar, very lovely people who genuinely look after you during your stay and great prices! Also Uncle Harry’s and fast food John for really good, cheap food. Do be careful with the more livelier bars, we got charged 10.50 euros for a pint and a half of Strongbow and black in the Barn, Strongbow was flat and blackcurrant syrup stuck to bottom of glass, very expensive night out!
All in all very good holiday, apologies if review seems disappointing but don't be put of, gave 8/10 and would definitely return to same resort and hotel again.

We were really careful to check all...

Apr 2006, L Garcia

We were really careful to check all for all damages so we had no problems there, need a chance to slag off Olympic holiday reps though who obviously work on commission and ripped us off big time with loads of trips that didn’t have the inclusions promised.
Oula is great, though our friends rooms were a lot nicer. It’s out of town which isn’t a big pain and its so nice to be able to get away from the noise when you finally do want to crash down.
Staff were friendly and helpful ALWAYS, as long as you aren’t a lairy drunk hooligan they do look after you. I broke my foot and they were sooo great they sorted me out with cheap taxis and a doctor and everything, can’t thank them enough!!

Me n my friend Jen have just returned...

Sep 2005, Miss Bex Lee

Me n my friend Jen have just returned from our maddest holiday yet, in Kavos! We arrived at Oula to be greeted by 'Stavros' the manager (who loves the ladies) who took us up to our room which was nicer than I expected since the holiday any cost us £250! Just be careful not to break anything as you will have to pay for it, a group of lads staying under us threw a paving slab at the front door which only left a small mark and were made to pay 600 euros for damages!
Oula is less than 10 min walk to the watersports beach which has every watersport you need, and also about a 10min walk to town centre where all the shops, bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants are!
The smell in Kavos is just the same as any other Greek island, its not too bad there’s just an occasional whiff of sewage which got worse when its rained!
There are lots of mosquitoes so take lots of mozzie replant and when we were there in Sept there were loads of wasps around which became quite annoying especially by the pool and when you are eating lunch!!
You have to pay 2 euros for the sunbeds but can keep it all day or you can just lay on your lilo in the pool, which is really nice! You aren’t allowed to take your own food or drink to the pool you have to buy stuff from the pool bar, were the gorgeous Jacob works! All the staff are really friendly there, our rep was lea who was really helpful, always running around for everyone!
We went to Kavos for a week but don’t think we could have survived much more, the bars are open bout 8pm but don’t get busy till bout 11pm most clubs open at 1am and are open till bout 7am then the after clubs get busy at bout 4am so if your up for 24/7 party action go to Kavos! We usually strolled in bout 8am apart from one day where we got out breakfast on the way home cos it was 12o'clock - so don’t go out too early on a night or you’ll end up burning yourself out!!!
We went out every night good places are fire bar where they set the tables on fire and the manager gives you free drinks if you pole dance on the tables, also Empire bar which is always rammed cos its the cheapest around - 1 euro for a drink and free shot - we got told that the vodka was mixed with meths I must say it did taste a bit dodgy but it did the trick (best kebab place 'Nikos' opposite)!Because it was coming to the end of season in Sept Venue club was quite dead but we went there anyway because of the fit guy who worked there (badger) and also Yanis who works on reception at the Oula worked there and gave us free drinks all night!
Our favourite club was Trinity and Atlantis which backed out onto the beach and played mainly rnb open till very late (don’t buy hot dogs from the stand in here they gave me food poisoning!), Checkers opens at 4am for the lads, After is a nice place next to Atlantis with firs on the beach, and also Heaven’s a good place to go after the main clubs!
We had a couple of the famous 'head *****er' drinks which were lethal but have got to be tried along with the 'cheeky vimptos' which give your night a great kick start! Don’t be dragged in by all the pr's as they are very pushy and do everything they can to get you in, listen out for the best offers like buy 1 get 3 free! If your up for a mad partying holiday Kavos is the place to go, I enjoyed it so much I’m off to work out there summer 06, be warned club 18-30's returns summer 06 so its going to be even madder, hope to see ya there!!!

Before I went to OULA but after we...
9 / 10
Aug 2005, R Swallow

Before I went to OULA but after we booked, I read on the internet some worrying things about the OULA maisonettes, “having to pay for the sunbeds, damages that you haven’t made but you are charged for......”this worried me and driving through Kavos I had a feeling of dread as the hotels resembled sheds at the side of the road and the whole place seemed a bit un lived in!! The further you go the better it gets, passing the hotels that have pools that are practically in the road is a bit daunting but driving upto OULA it’s clear that we’ve definitely made the best choice!!
On arrival you are greeted pleasantly by the woman on the reception who speaks very good English, she runs through the usual and then asks you to fill out a damage form, this is basically anything that is wrong with your room!! And I mean anything!! We had 3 hours to fill out this form and return it to reception. We did it in about 5mins. HOWEVER, do take time to check your room thoroughly, there is a list of items at the side of one of the beds, which has prices of things if you are to damage them. We did not see this list until the next morning, I went round checking things that you wouldn’t think to check and found several more damages that we could have been charged for, I went down to reception simply explained we had only just arrived the day before and could we add some damages to our list. There was no problem at all, the woman on reception sent “Stallios” (that’s what we called him) back with me and I showed him all the damages.
Be extra careful when checking the patio furniture... THE CHAIRS, there are quite a few cracks in them and if you don’t write these down then you will be charged!!! One of the damages was one of the beds..... 3 of the legs were bent in and they looked like the were gong to collapse, a bed is 300 euros!!
P.s the glass on the bedside table does not mean drinking glass it means the glass tops! A quick tip.......... If you smash a drinking glass alot of the local pubs and clubs have the same ones, “and all this time guys have been wondering why we always carry a big bag”. All this said when we left we didn’t get charged for a thing, and neither did the other two groups that we met out there, don’t panic just be thorough!!!
Enough about the bad stuff........ This holiday is by far the best holiday I have ever had, Lea the Olympic rep is by far the nicest chirpiest rep I’ve met, she gets involved with the groups and has a laugh. Quite good at match making aswell! She brings the guys to you if you ask her to! If you’re young I definitely recommend the bar crawl, top night and a great way to meet the people in your complex and surrounding ones, also helps you find your way around the bars on your first night! As for the booze cruise I didn’t go on it 'cause I heard it was s***, the aqua park is supposed to be brilliant though.
Around the pool area you have to pay for the sunbeds which is a bit tight but hey 2euros isn’t going to break the bank! Your are also not supposed to take food and drink into the pool area you have to pay the over priced prices at the pool bar, just be sly and keep it in your bag, it really isn’t a problem.
I would definitely go back to OULA, the people are friendly and the weather was nice and the apartments were nice. To me the nightlife in Kavos was different compared to...say...Tenerife, in Kavos it seems more together and closed in, a much better nightlife. I think the people I met on my holiday made my holiday better, no matter where you stay a holiday is who you’re with and what you make it! Enjoy! I gave this holiday a 9 because hey nothings perfect!!

Aug 2005, Miss L Smith

the apartments and complex were excellent by Greek standards with extremely friendly staff and good facilities. You do have to pay 2 euro a day for sunbeds. basics like toilet roll!!! and washing up liquid are not provided. despite advertising it is not a 10 minute walk to the beach unless you walk at high speed. it is far enough away from Kavos town to be able to get some sleep but close enough to still enjoy the nightlife. Not impressed with tour operator Olympic as everything seemed to be disorganised chaos. The coach driver they use was constantly on his mobile phone and not looking where he was driving and ladies don’t expect any help getting your cases on or off the coach.
Overall a very enjoyable holiday but anyone who is going take plenty of mosquito ex which you can get at the airport because they will eat you alive, pay extra for the air con when you get there its only 7 euro a day and you will need it and most of all don’t forget your toilet roll
