Kavos 26/06-11/07/09

I recently came back from staying at the Oula for 2 weeks with my friends (2 of us only went for 1 week). The hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Yannis the hotel manager was excellent and helped make our holiday! Our room (for 2 of us) was okay, small and there wasn't enough room for our clothes for 2 weeks! Our room was facing the pool area and the bar so we heard everyone coming in late at night. Except this our holiday was really good! Would definately go back to Kavos and the Oula again! The worst part of the holiday was the P.Rs trying to get you to go into all the bars and restaurants, this is because they don't take no for an answer and try to drag you in, it's not too bad at first but as they get to recognise more they do it more! You need to watch what you are drinking as we found there were some places giving you dodgy drinks! Some places offer you a free bar for an hour for 5 euros or 10 euros or 10 euros all night as we found, these are the more dodgy places! And some advice..... Don't bother going out onto the strip until 12ish as it's dead until about then and is busy until 6ish except Atlantis which is on the beach and stays open until 8am! Kavos was an excellent holiday and i would definately go back and would like to work out there for the summer next year!

After booking a weeks holiday at the Oula Maisonettes and reading all of the bad reveiews myself and my frien were very worried about the complex, however the staff are extremely friendly and always available. The sun beds were free while we were there. The room was of an average size and very clean. The only negatives I can say about Oula are; the distance from the main strip, and the strictness within the complex - they like it to be silent at night which is funny because its in Kavos! I would def go back there though! They also serve good food through-out the day and night

just got back from kavos and had a fab holiday! oula was better than we expected after reading many reviews about it before going! The sunbeds turned out to be free as we were expecting to pay so that was quite good. our room was ok although the view could have been better as it was a chicken pen and a scraggy garden but we made do! the pool was very nice along with the bar and food! the only negative issues were the wasps they were every where and were so anoying especially when you were eating! the main grudge for me wasn't oula but the olympic holiday reps mikey the rep at oula was a decent chap but we had a rep called amy who took us on an excursion to the water park aqualand. The trip was expensive and was spoilt by bad weather but we got on with it and had a good day until we were called to leave the venue 2 hours early as we were told other guests wanted to leave as they were fed up! but we later heard it was her who wanted to go as she was tired and fed up! so if you come across her good luck! overall we had a great holiday and oula played a part in that!

just got back from 2 weeks at Oula
Staff ok a little over zealous about coming back late and drunk and having other guests in your room a night, but we didnt have any problems
Reception staff always polite and friendly as well as bar staff and Yannis. rooms not cleaned thoroughly throughout stay and only hand towels and you had to BUY your own loo roll. Apartments very poorly equiped for SC frying pan and one small pan no utensils but otherwise ok. Stayed in block on opposite side of road and cockerel always gave us an early morning call. Holiday rep wasnt up to much concentrated on selling very expensive trips, book in town alot cheaper, BBQ 12euros pp cheaper, and looking good for younger holidayers.
Pool very nice and very quiet until late morning, hangovers being slept off, but 2euros a day for sunbed was a little dear but it kept non residents out as most other complexes dont charge. Could always find quite bar/restaurant Great Britain and Eves recomended as most were too lively. Beach [--]!!!
Overall good holiday but wouldnt go back Kavos more for younger element

Oula masionettes was great i cant believe the people who left bad reviews! its not at all as bad as half of you are making it i came back on saturday and had the best week ever!
the food at the pool bar was delish def worth the money u had to pay 2 euros for your sunbeds a day which wasnt to bad as it was a nice pool and far better than the dirty beach in kavos,
the rooms were spacious, wish we had of got air con becuase it was far to hot when we were trying to get ready to go out, could of done with an extra pillow on the bed aswell!
Mikey our rep was awesome was really helpful and told us all the relevant information we needed to know! we went on the bar crawl excursion and trinity the night club and it was well worth it had so much fun mikey would find us the next morning and tell us all about our drunken behaviour haha
Yannis the Manager (yami yami haha) was great he spoke really good english and was so friendly! the light broke in our bathroom and he was straight round to fix it he even joined us all when we were having drinks on the balcony great guy def made the hotel and even better place to stay! and he make a great tutti frutti cocktatil :P
the receptionist on the other hand was the complete opposite! we arrived at half 6 in the morning and she told us all about the hotel and in all fairness at half 6 in the monring i dont think anyone would want to listen she was very rude and had no customer service skills until half way into the holiday she thought i was greek and her complete attitude changed.
so all in all oula masionettes was a great place to stay! people who left bad reviews need to realise that they went to kavos corfu party central not paris or rome!
And if yami yami's reading this... then thankyou for making me and jordan feel so welcome :D

From all the bad reviews we have read we got there dreading to go to the hotel! we arrived and straight away knew we had made the right decsion to chose OULA! the staff were lovely and the rooms are everything you need! you go on holiday to enjoy yourself and all those people that pick at their rooms obviously did't leave them, but then again you get them boring whingy people! The pool was a lovely place to relax on those hot summer days and the balcany gave us a great veiw of the lovely grounds and cubs wandering around in the far field. Our maid Eva was sooo nice and if she came in when we were alseep she would sneak around or come back later. The hotel is really safe and the reception is 24hour you have a free safety deposit box or can rent a safe for 10 euros a week. Thw weather was soooo nice and if it got too hot you could always go and relax in the room or on the balcony were there was a cool breeze. The rooms are comfortable and cosy and if theres anything worng or anything you need the staff are always happy to help.anyway if your thinking of booking a holiday to kavos i would defo chose oula, its not to close to be woken by the music but its not to far to walk, the beach is close and the rose tree taverna is great food and cheap prices, the owner Domitree is so kind and gave us free cocktails when we walked past i would strongly reccomend it and its literally a one minute walk up the road. id also strongly advise you to take a trip up to the beach Adrolius its sign posted and although it is a long walk its worth it! its great to sunbathe swim and stroll and plenty of deserted areas ;P (if you know what i mean). Anyone who is going have a great time and anyone whos thniking of going; i wouldnt think twice about hopping on a plane and going back for another 2 weeks! Enough Said Enjoy to all those with taste. MWAH! x

When we read the negative comments I was worried about what we were going to. When we arrived to the apartments we were pleasantly surprised. We were given a paper to list all damages to be handed to our rep in our welcome meeting and we made sure everything was noted on this like scores in tables and number of plates etc jst to make sure we didn't get charged.
Our room was an upstairs one with a spiral staircase which is a bit deadly when drunk. Upstairs had 2 single beds and a sofa bed. Downstairs we'd 2 sofas and kitchen was fully furnished to make anything you needed. We paid for air con 45 euro for da week and opted for the safe in the room for 10 euro. The air con was gr8 for downstairs, is sensored so if you've the front door open it doesn't turn on. Upstairs was hot tho we kept the windows open upstairs and it seemed fine. We slept ok, but one of us used the sofa bed downstairs to get use of the air con
The plug sockets are slightly out of the way of the mirror so useful to bring an extension lead. The shower was fine and loads of storage space.
The complex itself was lovely, staff were helpful and friendly. You need to pay for the sunbeds 2 euro a day but worth it as once you've got one its yours for the rest of the day. The pool was quiet enough and plenty of space in and out of the pool. Theres also public toilets, showers and internet access.
English breakfast was lovely and only 3.50 and slush puppies stayed cold a good while for 4euro a pint
Our maids didn't come every day, but our apartment stayed clean. Other friends apartments had their maids in every day. There is a flat screen tv in all da apartments. Ours didn't work as aerial was broken but our friends had about 17 channels
The walk into kavos was only about 10mins and very handy.
Our rep wasn't the greatest, only seemed interested in the girls but we didn't need him so was fine. Our pickup bus also left without people after waiting 5 mins so make sure you know where you're getting picked up.
I'd definately recommend these apartments and would definitely go back. We'd asked about the bad reviews and were told the management had changed (whether style or people im not sure) but everyone had a great time.

Kavos is the best holiday i think ive ever had, it soooo much fun.
Oula was also great the rooms were alright, mine was quite big with a good size mirror and TV beds were ok didnt really bother me. the pool was good just paying for sunbeds let it down and the staff and rep were excellent, me and all my friends are missing it sooo much :(.
If i were to go agen ide pay for air con cos we didnt the first week and it was awful trying to get ready so def worth the money.
We all loved the staff there Yannis who we called Aladin was really helpfull and spoke really good english.
Oula is definiatly not as bad as the comments written below i loved it and wud def go back again, so dont be put off.

Don't panic if you have read all the bad reviews on here..i did before my holiday and in the end loved it!! Oula is definitley nowhere near as bad as some of these reviews make out and is probably one of the nicer choices of places to stay in kavos..some of them looked hideous!! Oula is pretty surrounded by flowers etc. and definitely a nice place to come back to after a night out as it is quiet enough not to be kept awake by the loud music from the strip but is close enough to walk back comfortably (took us only about 10 mins max). The beds were quite uncomfortable..i wish i had taken my own pillow now..and yer there are wasps and mozzies everywhere but they certainly didnt ruin the holiday! Just take mozzie spray and its fine you can't let something as stupid as that ruin your holiday. The staff are friendly, especially around the pool bar, but be careful at the end of the holiday that they dont try and rip you off as they did with us..stuff does break in the room but make sure you write a list of EVERYTHING that is already broken when you get there as they will try and charge you for every little thing. They also charge you for necessities - 45 euros for aircon for the week-definitley a necessity as its probably one of the hottest places I've been!! It's worth getting. Apart from that though we had no other bad things to say. The pool was a really lovely place to relax during the day and the weather was amazing. Oula was far better than I expected, especially after all these moany reviews..it's not perfect but it is really great for what you pay and compared to the other hotels and appartments available there its clean and relaxing.

6 / 10
Jul 2008, Miss J Davis

We booked this holiday without even googling the hotel to check on other guests' feedback, so when we logged onto this site two or three weeks before, we were dreading it. I think the hotel must have taken a lot of these comments on board though, because although we had a few issues there was nothing too major.
To clear some things up- the maids came to clean every day except Wednesday which is their day off (fair enough) and I know this because we never dragged our lazy arses out of bed till nearly 1. It wasn't that much effort to just bring a loo roll from home- there were four of us so 5 turned out to be more than enough for our one week. And we sunbathed on the grass at least three times and never got told to keep off it- so this is either a rule that has been dropped or we were sneaky enough not to get spotted.
The one main problem for us was having staff constantly yelling up to our balcony or knocking at our door telling us to keep the noise down (do they really think people go to kavos for peace and quiet...?) We weren't that loud I don't think, just unlucky that our room backed out on to the middle of the complex where the staff had us as easy targets. Never mind the fact that people over the hall could blast out their music and run in and out of doors naked ;)
But we had a great time, at the end of the day you make your own holiday. it's not like you should be spending all day in your room, and definitely not all night! Just make sure you check well for damages, own up if you break anything at all, and the staff are very nice about it.
I'm gonna give this a 6 because our room upstairs was like a greenhouse and it was impossible to sleep there.
If you're reading this, hi Yanni!!!! love from the biggest non male trouble makers in kavos xx
