Never Again!
from MadgeOxford
My daughter (who is 12) and I wanted a cheap short break over the half term, I knew this this was a cheap holiday but having never been on an all inclusive break before really didn't know what to expect. We booked through teletext and having seen the prices of the hotel think that we overpaid!! The taxi ride from the airport was smooth and straightforward but cost 35euro for a 15 minute trip, the hotel staff at the reception desk were having a discussion which they didn't stop to help us and we waited patiently for 5 minutes whilst they finished. We were given instructions on times etc of the restaurant and went off to find our room. We were initially pleased with the room, it was basic but seemed clean. However, we discovered that the drain smell permeated the room at all hours, you can hear everything from the next room and we took earplugs but it did not seem to make much difference! The bins were emptied around midnight by loud lorries and people seem to thunder past our room at all hours!! The maid service came in every day and although they made the beds didn't seem to do much more, the towels were not changed in 5 days, they were just folded neatly to appear as though they had been! I did ask for them to be changed but was given only 2 small towels and 1 big one! The shower was completely scalled up so that the water was only trickling out and in the end we took the shower head off, I got the feeling that complaining would make no difference. We did not see the rep for the 4 days we were there, but there seemed to be lots of organised trips to Barcelona and Port Aventura. The bus service into Salou and La Pineda was easy to use, efficient and cheap. We went to the theme part at a cost of 44euros each but I did not feel that this was good value for money, lots of the rides were broken! The pool was freezing and the bar staff seemed to work from 10 to 12 every day - poor things! The entertainment was rubbish, we waited until 10.45pm for Bingo and had just 1 round which lasted 10 mins! Although this was not a holiday for us, I would say that most of the other guests seemed to be really enjoying their stay. We didn't know until the last day that you could get snack from the restaurant all the time, that was not on the literature!! The food however was awful!! There was lots of salad but the hot food was very cheap! It was mainly recycled the next day too! Chilli one day, lasagne the next! The hotel itself is a bit remote and the area is quiet, but the beach in just down the hill and you can hire sunbeds for 4 euros for the day, there is a clean portaloo there too! The main problem for us was the noise at night, but it did what it said on the packet but just not for us!
Amazing holiday!

Me and my boyfriend have just got back from a week all inclusive at molinos park and after reading the reviews were a bit worried but the hotel and everything was brilliant! we booked through sunshine holidays and they were amazing. We arrived at the hotel on 15th may and only had to wait an hour for our room to be ready but that gave us chance to look around, our room was what we expected and was cleaned thorughly everyday, new sheets and towels, the food although people have complained lots about this was very good for all inclusive, breakfast was a variety of cold ham etc, fruit, cereals, yoghurt, and cooked breakfast, lunch was salads, bread, sausages, muffins etc, and dinner a variety of about 4 different meal choices, chilli, pasta, salmon steaks, casserole, all lovely. The staff were all quite friendly especially sebsatian on the roof top, we loved him! nice to have the roof top area with 4 jacuzzis and sunloungers that children werent allowed up to, views looked over salou which was beautiful. All inclusive drinks were good too even though i think most alcohol was watered down, but u can have as much as you like so who cares! i cant believe people complain so much this hotel is fantastic and we definatley got more than we paid for! do not listen to the bad reviews, those people would complain about the ritz! would 100% return, met some lovely people here too, was an amazing holiday and amazing weather!
read reviews before we went about noise and trouble at this hotel didnt believe all you read how wrong can you be !

After reading a lot of bad reviews about this hotel was worried about going but had all been payed for so thought got to make the best of it. after arriving at hotel first impressions seemed ok food really nice plenty of it. hotel fairly clean and tidy staff friendly went all inclusive so all in all good value for money! first evening after dinner went for a walk to see what was around us, very dissapointed we were on a hill walked down a hill not a lot at all down there very few bars and cafes and a steep walk back up. tierd from long day and had been up since night before had a couple of drinks and have a early night, was kept awake most of the night by a couple in next room shouting and throwing things at the wall, getting really frustrated by this time i went down to reception to see if they could sort this out, was told to calm down and if it was still going on in an hour they would call the police! this was four a clock, fineally got a bit of sleep before waking up to more noise ! chairs being pulled along floors above us the noise was constant at this hotel all week we hardly slept, walls were like paper so thin. the reviews about the hotel being noisey are true but most of this is down to the people staying there not all the fault of the hotel , the only fault i could find was that other hotels you go all inclusive you can only get two drinks per time here there was no restrictions so people were getting as many as they wanted, one night at last orders people near us must have had twenty drinks between three of them on their table so people was getting drunk and starting trouble you can see why it is so noisey there !!! we were there a week and the police were there four times when i read that the police attend regually thought they were joking but its true. we never got a lot of sleep the week we were there but all in all the food was good the hotels clean and staff nice just shame about the noise every one we met and chatted to couldnt wait to go home to get some sleep we met some really nice people there just shame about the people who spoil it for others !!!
i enjoyed my stay here

Have now tried all inclusive - NEVER AGAIN
from bobbysgirl1
The Molinos Park - we went on our first ever all inclusive and are now totally committed to never doing so again! Most of the other guests appeared to and voiced the fact they were having a great time and thoroughly enjoying their holiday - unfortunately, this was not the case for us. We go on holiday to experience the country of choice, the culture, the food and the people. It was definately a major mistake for us to imagine we might do this at Molinos Park. On the whole, without being biased about our own error in judgement in our holiday choice her are a few honest points about the hotel. Most guests were there for short breaks ranging from 2 to 4 days. For a break where all foods and drink is covered then this is ideal. When there longer, the food becomes pretty repetitve and sadly, some is recycled!! Chilli showed up next day as lasagne. There is no reason to go hungry. There is a varied salad menu and the selection of fruit is quite exotic. But, on the whole, the meals are made as cheaply as possible and it shows. By the end of the week we became so sickened at the thought of the food that we ate out. The coffee machines make a great cuppa. The beer is nice but I felt at times it was difficult to make up my mind whether or not there was vodka in my vodke and OJ even though I had watched them put an extremely generous measure in the glass (plastic glass though this is fully appreciated given the fact the bar is next to pool area) The rooms are very basic. Two single beds, both with pull out beds beneath. I would think 4 people in one the rooms would have been way too much but obviously this happens. The cleaners barely cleaned during our stay though they re made the beds every day - I had to take the sheets off the beds and take them to the cleaners to ensure I was give fresh bedding. I noted that towels were often just folded up and made to look as though they had been changed. The staff did try to make things as pleasant as possible but they had their work cut out. Many guests, specially in the dining area, acted like the staff were there to clean up after them. Technically yes, that is their job but there was no need to leave such a mess after eating expecting someone else to clean it for you. Many of the staff were working at breakfast and still there during the last snack times finishing at 11.30pm. Many of them looked shattered. The locality of the hotel is quite hilly and out of the way. Not recommended unless you like walking up and down hills. There is an excellent bus service to surrounding towns - Salou and La Pineda are nice. Cant say a lot more about the hotel apart from the biggest downfall is the total lack of any kind of sound proofing. It is a nightmare. I am sure my hubby's snoring upset a few guests but when the sound of every word, bodily function and footstep is audible it is a nightmare for everyone - maybe copious amounts of alcohol is the answer to induce deep sleep. Who knows????? If looking to party heavily without good entertainment then this is the place - other than that - give it a miss.
nice staff but so noisy at night!

we stayed here for a week with our 3 year old grandaughter - we enjoyed our stay apart from the noise factor. Walls very thin you could hear the tv on both sides of our room, our grandaughter slept thro it all but we didnt - even with ear plugs in. Admittedly, a lot of it is inconsiderate people to blame, who talk loudly in the corridor in the early hours and bang doors, but we think the walls need some sound insulation badly. Food was better than expected, though it was not kept hot enough. Most mornings the sausages, bacon (yuk) eggs, beans, tomatoes were all lukewarm.Same with the "hot" food at other times though the selection was good, there was always something that you could find to suit.Plenty of fresh fruit all the time, nice salads and jacket potatoes which made a change from the inevitable chips. The pool was nice but SO cold.... The staff were excellent, particularly the bar staff, very friendly, cleaners too. Front desk tried hard to help us when we had a problem trying to contact our taxi firm to arrange taking us back to the airport. We booked through aldi travel - good apart from not giving us phone numbers to arrange collection for our return to barcelona. This is a journey of 90 minutes. If we came again we would fly to reus, as most others people seemed to do - only 10 minutes away. When our taxi finally arrived thanks to our family back home ringing aldi to sort out the problem, we were very relieved as the cost of another taxi would have been 150 euros plus! However, we were not provided with a child seat for our 3 year old grandaughter on either leg of the journey - which was worrying as it was on motorways with lots of traffic. I was very relieved to arrive safe. I was told it was illegal for them not to give us a child seat by a local lady, but oi dont know how true this is. I have informed Aldi travel about this but they have not responded to me as yet. The beaches here are lovely with lots of sandy little coves to explore.Salou is only a five minute busride away if you want more shops. The entertainment in the hotel wasnt very good though our grandaughter loved the mini disco every night - the guy who entertained the kids was great. We did have a flamenco act which was fair! Would we return? yes, i guess so if we had the granchild with us otherwise, no, we would choose a smaller hotel though we liked the area very much, even though it was quite hilly all around. A family oriented hotel , we enjoyed our stay mostly!
Molinos Park Hotel, Cap Salou

Horrible hotel. Booked through Co-op Travel, nothing wrong with the travel company they are fantastic, but the hotel. Looked nice from the outside on the inside very dirty, the room i had was supposed to be a family room which I booked for myself and paid the single room supplements. When I got the room they saw i was on my own and put me in a twin room. The beds both blocked the toilet and the balcony access. you could stretch your arms out and that was the width of the room. The balcony advertised great views which was correct but also advertised balcony furniture, which consisted of 1 chair with 3 legs a table stood against the wall with no legs and a parasol without the pole. When I spoke to management about what i paid they ignored my requests and told me to check out and book eleswhere, which after 2 days I actually did. The breakfast was cold the sausages were floating on the grease like they were doing the breast stroke. All in all keep away from this hotel. on a lighter side the destination was fantastic but i could not have stayed 14 days in a crap hotel

great value hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great value hotel..... i paid £174 for 4 nights all inclusive for 4 people and it was worth every penny. situated in cap salou its about 2 miles away from the main resort of salou, which has a purpose built walk way between the two with stunning views all the way.the hotel was clean and the room had 4 full size single beds in and there was still room around the edge, not much but as your on holiday and not spending all day in your room this is not a problem! food was great with a good selection of dishes including fresh fish, fresh fruit, and multiple desserts and snacks served in the resturant in between meal times, so you never went hungry.there are 3 pool tables costing 1euro per game, and also internet access that cost 1 euro per 10 mins.there is a large pool and a little climbing frame enclosed area.there are plenty of chairs and tables for you to enjoy the sunshine.lager is estrelle on tap.if your not all inclusive lager is about 1.50euros for half.taxi rank near the hotel, taxi is about 8 euros into salou, there is also a bus stop outside the hotel, the bus into salou is every half hour and costs around 1.75 each single. i got a bus from outside the airport which took me to the hotel for10 euros return. A taxi cost around 35 euros each way so the bus worked out alot cheaper and they didnt charge me 4 my 2 year old son. i reccomend the 007 bar in salou for entertainment for all the family and the robin hood bar for family karioke and uncle sams american diner (like fatty ardbuckles) for eating out. there is a small supermarket next to the hotel for all your essentials and a few bars and resturants near the hotel so its not actually stuck in the middle of nowhere! any questions please feel free to message me
althought nice on arrival, pleasant and helpful staff, good start to holiday...the cracks started to appear.....had to be move out of our room due to bed bugs and being bitten all over, please be warned this hotel has paper thin walls and you can hear everything.....wouldnt... more
