Before going away I was really worried about this hotel, nearly all the reviews were negative but when I got there it was absolutely fine!
Yes there were some hen/stag parties that were noisy but what hotel doesn't have some noisy guests? And the people moaning about noise "all day", maybe you shouldn't go on holiday just to sit in your room.
The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable with good sized balconies and a TV with BBC and ITV which was a surprise considering we were all inclusive. The shower however was a bit unpredictable!
The food was nice, a bit samey, but there was always plenty and it was warm. And there were also snacks throughout the day of chips, burgers, hot dogs etc.
The drinks were very generous measures if you were getting something like vodka and lemonade it was mostly vodka!
The entertainment team worked very hard and I was impressed that it wasn't all geared at children, with a quiz, bingo and games for adults and also a nightly cabaret. When the entertainment closed at 12pm they put on a free minibus to a local nightclub.
The rooftop jacuzzi area is absolutely lovely with a bar and two hot tubs and for over 18s only so no screaming or splashing children!
The hotel is situated a short work away from maintown Salou and La Pernada, which are both nice towns.
All in all we had a brilliant holiday and we have booked to go back next year! Some people will always find something to moan about, but go with an open mind and you will have a great time :)
- Advice: Give Salou a chance, its a brilliant holiday location!

We have just returned from this hotel and are so pleased to be home. The hotel was dirty, noisy and full of stag and hen parties and unruly school children. We had 3 room changes as our rooms were dirty, noisy and we had our room door knocked frequently at 1.30am. The drains were foul, the air conditioning did not work, the beds were uncomfortable and we didn't feel safe in our room at night. One night there was a fight on the roof where the sunbeds were being thrown about . We didn't sleep in a week and was so glad to check out. We lived on pizza and chips all week cos the food was boring and usually cold. I noticed that the food heaters were not put on to heat up before the food was put into them.
I would only recommend this hotel to someone who likes drinking themselves into oblivion with no regard for anyone but themselves.

hotel rooms are basic but clean staff very helpfull and you have to ask if room was missed in the cleaning in mornings if you overslept hotel is aged need of bit of repair but is clean and all staff helpfull except maybe the dining staff which all seem not to speak english but in truth dont have time to talk with the high volume of people they have to cater for food is basic and choice is varied but in truth you will always find something that you can eat so you wont starve drink is free if your all inclusive and staff get overwhelmed by numbers at times but always serve you quick as possible and in a pleasant manner in conclusion its a good cheap holiday and i had no complaints would go back to the molinos hotel again

I read the reviews before I went away and was slightly worried as to what we would find when we got there, all I can say is 'Thank God we didn't take the kids' and we were only there for a few days for my friend's 30th birthday.
As we walked up the hill to get to the hotel, there were lots of people standing round outside, my first impression was not good it looked like a refugee camp. We walked into the foyer and the smell of sick hit you, we went to check in and was told that we wold have to wait 1 1/2hours to check in as rooms were not available unitl 12pm, the reception staff were very rude and not interested in the customers.
As we couldn't check in we decided to walk around the hotel, the roof terrace looked good and the pool area was ok, but the entertainment area smelt of stale beer.
We checked in, my partner went up in the lift, and an elderly gentlemen greeted him with the words 'welcome to hell son'.
Our room was good, it was on the surface clean, and our beds were comfy with clean sheets.
The food was good, there was something to eat everyday and we didn't have to que for long, there was food on all day.
On the roof were hot tubs and only for adults which was great, however as the days went on the cleaning standards were very poor, fag ends everywhere, litter not being picked up, we one day stayed by the pool and were greatful that none of us had brought the kids with us, there was spilt drinks everywhere, it was sticky to walk on, litter everywhere, people throwing each other in the pool as they were very very drunk, and the bad language that was being spoken by the adults was dreadful, this place was chatsworth holiday estate.
The entertainment people in the evening were ok, but there was no effort put into it and it looked like they really didn't want to be there.
In the evenings, we had to bring wet wipes to clean the tables ourselves, they were sticky and when we moved the tables underneath was black dirty water were they had moped round the tables.
The resort was great lovely local people, bus service was excellent, markets were great, beach was really nice.
My advice to you reading this, pay the extra £50 each and go 4*.

Anyone who goes there does so at their own risk, do not take children. I am appalled that british hotel agencies are taking money for bookings to this hotel. My issues during my stay which was from 2 rooms as I had to change half way through (I have photographs to back up) were:
Electrical socket hanging off wall
Electrical plate missing from another socket
Below the balcony were gas canisters which were attached to the beer lines in the bar with cigerette stubs all around. These canisters were live as everytime a pint was pulled you heard the noise of the canister working.
Cigerette burns in the bedding
Damp ceiling patches
Toilet seat not affixed
Yellow marks on toilet seat
Telephone: sited on the side but did not work
Shower head broken
- Advice: Absolutely not.

We arrived at the hotel at half past midnight and were immediately greeted by a group of Brits stood of the stairs clutching variou drinks and cigarettes- shouting all sorts.
We walked in the hotel to check in and were not told where anything was i.e dining room, bar pool etc - but at this time we were too tired to really care. Two flights had arrived at roughly the same time- but only one person was working on reception meaning we had to queue for a good 10-15 minutes.
When we got in our room- it was basic but more than adequate and the bedding and towels were clean and unstained. However the bathroom stank of sewage or something similar.
The walls were paper thin- and that is no exaggeration one night we could literally hear the woman in the next room sobbing for about three hours- and something mroe questionable another night!
The rooms themselves were not clean at all- loads of dust and cup marks on surfaces.
The whole hotel was outdated and in desperate need of refurb!
The food was excellent throughout, lots of choice and good quality- including the snack bar.
The all inclusive package is very good as the beer and wine is good quality.
However the floor of the main bar is generally wet and sticky of a night time and not disimilar from a working mens club.
You can't get a drink of anything including tea/coffee after about half twelve until you go for breakfast the next day.
The pool area is well maintained and clean. However there are no cushions of the sun loungers so very uncomfortable after a few hours.
The main problem for us was some of the other guests- there was one shouting out racist language that several guests complained about but the hotel did nothing, then there was the group throwing lager over the wall at other guests walking on the street below- again left unchallenged by the hotel. The language was a constant disgrace especially when there were in excess of twenty kids under 10 in the same area. Very noisy at night- people coming and going constantly and due to the lack of depth to the walles everything could be heard!
Only a short walk from a number of places- Cap de Salou was worth while lots of nice pubs/bars- much quieter than the hotel!
Won't be going back but good value for money!

If your after a 5 star hotel fine wine and dining then you will be dissapointed, however that said if your after a cheap holiday decent food and half decent evening entertainment, a good swimming pool then this could be the place your after. we went all inclusive and saved so much money on drinks alone. food is not bad i wouldn't call it gourmet cooking but there is plenty of choice salads hot foods ETC, food for kids and several local plus european dishes on offer. breakfast ok plenty of variety but there idea of sausage's is what we we would call tinned hotdogs LoL!!!. bus stops are just outside hotels and they are easy to use to go to salou la pineda or cambrils + they stop at the theme parks.all the bus drivers spoke basic english and were very helpful and buses regular, taxi's from airport cost 35 euro's each way(sept2009). the beach is 5-10 minute walk and is clean + has a bar there aswell. we loved it and we paid £1200 for a family of 4 including flights in august and will be going to the same hotel again this year. i would say the air conditioning is a bit rubbish but not totally useless( better than nothing at all)To sum it up i would say a great deal for a family holiday if you don't need a kid's club

I think it's a real shame when people leave such negative reviews because it makes booking a holiday so stressful if you were to listen to the reviews you would never go anywhere. Myself my partner & 2 young children stayed here for a week end of Aug beginning of Sept It was fine staff weren't all friendly but many were and the others kept quiet and got on with their job, We all loved the food rooms were basic but everything needed to get a sleep and freshen up was there. If you know you are really fussy then go for 5 star luxury and self catering but otherwise don't be put off the price is reasonable and a good time can be had by all. You do only get 2 drinks a time but you can go up as much as you want the kids liked the entertainment it was a bit repetitive but that's what they love routine & familiarity by the end of the week they couldn't wait for the songs and dances that they knew there isn't loads of activities for the children but mine love the pool beach and play area and making friends with other children so they were happy. The weather was great and Salou is full of water parks theme parks zoos etc plus Barcelona is near by

This was my 3rd time staying in the Molinos Park Hotel and my husband and I would go back again.
It was a litle bit quieter this year, we went 6th June for 1 week.Rooms are cleaned every day, the food was ok - you will always find something to eat. I love the sunbathing terrace on the roof for the adults, no children, peace and quiet. The barman on the roof terrace is fantastic, very chatty and full of fun. The rest of the hotel staff were also very welcoming. I can honestly not complain about this hotel.
So if you don't want too pay too much money and don't mind walking (although the local bus stops outside the hotel also)then try it for yourself and i hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
