awesome!
from smartieshta
this hotel is awesome, it is up a slight hill but has a really good size pool, and plenty of sunbeds and seats for everyone. It also has a snack bar with refreshments which arent too expensive at all and a pool table. The hotel itself is really nice and modern looking, with marble steps leading into the reception area. I stayed in room 612 and it was lovely. We didnt spend much time in our room at all so it was all we needed, it was really basic but the beds were comfortable, the balcony had a lovely view, there was good storage space, the only thing i didnt like was the shower because it was quite small but that definately didnt put me off. I was staying for bed and breakfast, the breakfast was also basic but was all i needed, there was cereal, bread, marble cake, some fruit, toast, or a hot meal to choose from. The location is ok, there are lots of places to eat if you turn left at the bottom of the hill which are all really cheap but good quality food. There is also an internet bar which is only 1 euro for 20minutes and 5 euros for an hour if you want to contact home. This is a really nice place to stay however to get a taxi to ipsos for the nightlife does cost 10 euros so if thats what u are going for i would recomend to stay in ipsos unless you have the money for travel costs. I flew with olympic holidays and they were really good and helpful however they do rip you off with the day trips, if you walk down to one of the shops about 5mins from the hotel they sell trips cheaper and a bus picks you up right outside so thats worth a look. Aqua land is a fun day out and only half an hour journey from the hotel, we also did the boat trip to paradise beach and had a bbq which was really good and also a very short trip in comparison to others on the coach.I would definately recommend this hotel to any age group and whether its for a family or party holiday, everything is really close, the hotel is clean and the staff work extremly hard they dont seem to stop for a break! It is definately good value and you wont be disappointed, it should be way more than a 2*.
Hotel of smell, unfriendliness and waiters faster then lightning
from frederic007
Me and my girlfriend went on a holiday for just one week. First of all i want to say that we didn't expected a lot of a half-pension "last , last minute " @ the Tele-crap-os hotel. We were happy with a good bed and decent food. I will give you just the list with facts: 1) After 6pm the badroom smells like soil until 10am. Not funny when you're in the room at that moment. 2)The waiters are so fast , and i mean to get you out of the dinner room. They are cleaning your table while you get some extra food. So when i was back at my table , other people where already sitting on our clean table. Yes , our glasses , food , etc was still on the table. 3)Once there was still food in my mouth and my plate was already gone. 4)the only thing the 2 bizarre waiters can say is "FINISHED?" 5)If you complain to them they act like they don't understand you and laugh with you. 6)The beds are horrible, my back did really hurts after a few days. 7)The pillow! or what it should be. 8)The ladies who have to clean-up your room.Once we lie on our bed. They went inside and began to mop the floor , took water from our shower to clean the hallway. should'nt they leave the people in theyre privacy? 9)the sheets where refreshed once in the hole week, the same with the towels. and when you lay them in the sun... they turn yellow instead of white. Mmmmmm. A very good hotel indeed , yeah right. So the last day i went to the manager and said all this things in here face.Just to say it, not to argue. Oké , i'm not that kind at that moment but what the hell. She began to talk about here travel somewhere else, she said we were'nt friendly, and so on... But hey there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Don't book your holiday over there. I would recommend, and certainly if you don't have children, rent a room in one of the many appartments on the island.Just book your flight, and look there for a decent bed. Corfu is a great island to spend your holiday. If you have other question. You can mail me frederic_vandenplas@hotmail.com
9 hours too long!!!
from poppyprincess
We arrived back in the UK this morning after spending a week in Paxos (tiny island off Corfu coast and poles apart from mainland Corfu). Due to our flight times and the hydrofoil crossing Olympic put us up for 9 hours at the Telemachos and I have to say that was 9 hours too long. The hotel reception is very tired looking with the obligatory mirror tiles and fake plants. A very odd looking 'fake tree' suspended from the ceiling adorned with plastic animals, flowers and crystals. Polystyrene ceiling tiles are intermittently painted with vivid green gloss and the artwork looks to have been hanging for decades. There are magazines available with a very curt notice stating they are strictly for purchase only and woe betide anyone who so much as leafs through one! The stand was moved completely later in the evening. There is a small gift shop selling the usual classy 'souvenirs'. We decided to spend some time around the pool (which to be fair is ok) just to kill time, however come 7pm were virtually tipped of our sun beds as they were stacking them away for the day. I offered to stack my own sun bed when I was finished but to no avail. At this point I toyed with the idea of taking a swim but alas at that point the bar manager asked the 3 remaining swimmers to vacate the pool, presumably this is banned after 7pm as well! We noticed many guests wearing wristbands so are guessing the hotel operates an all inclusive option. This may explain as to why the hotel doesn't possess any pint glasses, you are only 'allowed' halves. I suppose this is better than the plastic cups which the drinks from the snack bar are served up in. The hotel is located at one end of Dassia as opposed to the resort centre, up bit of a hill. We ventured out to get something to eat to be faced with crossing a road which quite frankly may as well be the M25, I felt as though I was dicing with death just to make it to the opposite side! If you don't mind eating to the sound of mopeds and transfer coaches then you're ok. Although we didn't venture far Dassia seems consist of the central strip peppered with kebab shop, bar, tat shop, kebab shop, bar, tat shop and so on, if you like that classic Greek menu of fish and chips, pizza and chips, nuggets and chips, burger and chips then you'll be fine. Post evening meal we gathered around the pool bar as there was live entertainment. Not entirely sure we were meant to be laughing as the duo were singers rather than comedians but they sure as hell were funny, do you remember the pub singer from Vic Reeves show? Still unsure what songs they were singing and in which language. With the exception of the new room block I personally would say the entire complex needs a revamp. The reception area in particular is very 1970's, dated and tacky. The staff were abrupt (maybe because we weren't paying guests who knows). The hotel seems very regimented in terms of what you can do and when you can do it. At the risk of sounding like a complete snob and probably being burned at the stake by Telemachos regulars I think as the hotel is only a 2 star and is of the beer, chips and plastic umbrellas in your cocktail mentality it attracts that kind of 'clientle'ie football shirts, England tattoos, large gold hoop earrings. I know that plenty of people enjoy that kind of holiday and at the end of the day if that's what you turn up wanting and expecting then you'll have great fun and won't be disappointed. If you want Butlins with guaranteed sunshine then you can't go far wrong.
Hotel From Hell!!
from Hazydayz
As we stepped of the plane at Corfu airport we were greeted to the aroma of warm sewerage which prevailed all week! On arrival at the hotel we were herded into a tv room where the German manageress selected us for check in. I had a foot injury but had to carry my case up three flights of stairs! I was expected to pay 90 euros for air-conditioning to two rooms! The rooms were small and dirty, we even found a pair of socks under one of the beds that didn't belong to us! Outside one of the rooms were two nests, the hotel had put a shelf above the door to hide this fact. Our rooms were directly over the bar area so any chance of getting to sleep before 2am was impossible! The hotel is split into two, the old building where All Inclusive guests stay and the gorgeous new building for the B&B and HB guests so immediately the All Inclusive guests were made to feel second best. The pool was clean and cool and the area around it pleasant, however, beware of the sun beds - there have a limited number of decent beds (if you could get to them before the German holiday makers did!) and the majority of them were in a state of disrepair! There was a lovely pool side bar for those who were parting with cash and a "hole in the wall" for us All Inclusivers. The menu here was extremely limited and consisted of pizza, hot dogs and toasties (ham, cheese, tomato or onion) myself and one of my children couldn't eat anything from here as the cheese wasn’t vegetarian. All the drinks were served in flimsy plastic cups at room temperature as there was no fridge, the addition of ice did nothing to cool the drinks as the ice melted immediately! Julios who served here was unpredictable, one minute he would be happy the next he would be off hand particularly to children when parents weren't around - he even served under 18's alcohol regularly!!! Ladies beware - he seems to think he is some kind of Romeo and may make lewd suggestions to you when there's no one around - BE WARNED!!! To top it all the All Inclusive bar closed at 9.30pm just as the entertainment (I use that word loosely!!!) began - mainly German duo's attempting to sing songs in English very badly! The restaurant food was dire, no vegetarian option unless you count vegetables and chips! Two of my party lived solely off salad for the week. The chef serving had the grimiest fingernails I have ever seen and did not wear gloves. I was even told that the Mushroom Risotto didn't contain meat when I could clearly see chunks of bacon! The only traditional Greek food I saw all week was stuffed vine leaves! The staff were generally miserable, the manageress fearsome! Some guest complained and were told to go away before they called the police - just what you want on holiday! Random things went missing out of the rooms, my pyjama top, my daughters teddy bear and baby wipes to name but a few! At no time were we made to feel welcome at this hotel nor did the staff attempt to help us enjoy our holiday. We booked with Olympic Holidays - never again! We arrived on Saturday at 5am, had a welcome meeting at 12 noon and then didn’t see the rep until Wednesday! People went to complain and all she did was take notes - she didn’t attempt to resolving anything!!!! Fortunately we met some fantastic British holiday makers who made our week, if it hadn't been for them we would've had a really depressing time. All in all I would not recommend Telemachos Hotel to ANYONE
Not Bad at all.

I stayed at this hotel for 6 days with my husband. my hand luggage was carried to our room. we didnt expect much since it is a 3 star hotel. the breakfast & dinner were great good food but then got bored that dinner was almost always the same. breakfast & dinner finish exactly in time & then the food is taken away to the kitchen & if someone asks for some food they will not give it to you for sure! since we rented a motorbike every day, they gave us a snack each day which consisted of a roll with ham, cheese & tomatoes & a small bottle of water. instead of a roll we could choose to have a croissant. it was great since we werent expecting that. the steep hill outside the hotel didnt bother us since we had the motorbike. the room didnt bother me because it was small. the maids didnt change the towels each day! the problem was that all rooms are near the pool area & the entertainment starts from 930pm till 130am & i couldnt sleep until the entertainment was over since the music was too loud & it bothered me each & every night! that was not good since sometimes i was very tired & wanted to sleep & wake up early for breakfast the next morning. especially when we had to wake up at 5am to go to the airport to leave. there is a waiter which only speaks to women & my husband was very very jealous about that, since he only spoke to me when i was alone. it is better if people take tea or coffee by their own which will be available always than running after waiters to be served! the manager Nando was friendly & even the receptionist & her daughter & Martha & the barman. they always helped us. the owner never spoke to us. i would go back to this hotel but i will ask to be placed in a room far from the pool area & to have a new room since some people complained that there are new & old rooms & was not fair to be placed in an old room & paying the same amount of money.
disappointing hotel

The bedroom was dirthy and the bathroom was really filthy! One of the staff was very annoying with the ladies! Personne ne parle français! The hotel manager wasn't nice! The food wasn't good enough! There was too much noise on the ground floor even after midnignt just next out of our room! This is not an hotel for young people who want to have fun in a nice place.
The worst hotel I had in my life
from A TripAdvisor Member
Sorry for my English but I do my best (I'm a Dutch man). I don't like to be negatif but in this case i have no other choice. This holiday was an ocassion for us because a friend of my girlfriend has won this travel and he couldn't go for private raisons and we had a chance to go in his place. So we didn't really check these pages before leaving. Great mistake! When arriving in the hotel (it was really hot), the receptionist asked: AC or not ? We said offcourse yes and the answer was €45, quite bizar for an all-in hotel in a warm country. I didn't receive a note of what we paid (we received it finally the morning after). Then the guy shows us our room, this was a disappointed experience. Small, old and very used mattress. The first night my girlfriend was crying, I thaugt by myself: If i have to heard this every night, i get no sleep (Faithless yeah) and i will be more tired after leaving than arriving. I said to here, maybe we can ask for new mattress because she have problems with her back. Succeeded, we received a 'star' room, i don't know where the star come from but ok compared to our first room this was for Telemachos-stars. Bigger, newer but still basic (for me it was fine compared to the previous room). Restaurant: I'm a Belgian so that means that we like to eat, drink and have fun. Problem, this is not possible at Telemachos. Almost always the same[--] ; no fruit, yoghurt or chocolate in breakfast ; one portion by person (yes sometimes you go back because you are so hungry) ; wine is not good. Once I baught a melon outside and decided to take with to eat with dinner. You had to see the gardien, he treated me as a terrorist who tried to bring in a bomb or what, incredible ... clients are kings but this is not true at Telemachos. Lunchpakket was also for kidding: 50 cl water and 1 sandwich or croissant (not fresh !) by person. All-in: till 21h30, ok it 's the house reglement but then you have to respect the rules on both sides. They start to close at 21h20 and the shows nearly to the swimming pool starts at the same moment. The drinks are not cheap at the bar so you can spend a lot of money in the evening if you decided to stay. Internal Staff: unkindly, unprofessional, ... Country: beautifull and maybe I return once but it will not be in Telemachos. I recommend to rent an appartment, a scooter so you are free to go where you want to swim, eat, drink, ... Intercomfort: the organisation from which was booked this Holiday => unprofessional, unkindly, not able to help people with problems
unforgettable...so terrible

My friend and I stayed in the Telemachos hotel from June 26th till the 3rd of July 06. Because we dared to complain on arrival they treated us like troubles makers for the entire holiday. The manager and his wife were rude. Also the staff. About the All-in: DO NOT waste your money:the food is really awfull (breakfast, lunch as dinner!) One day, we bought a melon and wanted to eat this as dessert in the restaurant (there was really not that often fruit on the menu). The staff treated us unpolitly: "What's in your bag? Go to your room and leave it overthere!!!" The otherday I wanted to have two dishes of soup: the employee said to me: Only one spoon per person! I have another idea of all-in ...anyway The rooms are very small, allthough we managed to get a 'star-room'. Hhhmmmnn...it's larger but don't expect to much like we did. The furniture is not that old and the mattrasses are new (wich was a great change). We noticed that our toilet was leaking and the whole bathroom (wich was very basic) had a very strong smell of sewage. In addition the rooms were dirty. On our last day, we had to check out at noon, but our bus picked us up at 11P.M. so we could take a shower in a toilet...really awfull and dirty! Despit of the hotel the Island is really great. We rented a scooter for seven days and I think we've seen almost everything. So if you ever come to Corfu, I strongly discourage you to go to Hotel Telemachos.

Remember That it is not a 4 Star Hotel so dont expect Luxury. The experience for me and my wife was excellent some people have different tastes. Breakfast Yes always the same and yes its buffet. I Liked it, The Only thing i did not like was running after the waiter to pour you coffee or Tea He only like pouring and talking to girls. The Dinner For a 3 Star Hotel is Delicious + Free Wine. Usually any hotels i went i had to pay for the drinks. The Room Realy is Small, but we werent planning to stay inside all day, pillows we had only one each and very soft and when we asked for an extra 2 pillows at about 11.30pm he brought us imeddiatly no question asked. His Wife and i think there daughter always greeted us with a smile and very helpfull. The Barman was very very friendly and helpfull. Drinks at the bar in the hotel are mostly more cheaper then drinking outside. Entertainment not so good but better then nothing. I always believe that if you also threat them with a smile and not anger They will threat you far more better then you think. If you always complain on small things dont go to 3 Stars Hotels If i have to go back to corfu i will choose again Telemachos
Absolutely the Worst Hotel Ever !!!! Horrible !!!!

My girlfriend and I needed a relax vacation in a nice hotel. We decided to spoil ourself and book an all-in, and just relax and do nothing for one whole week. When we arrived at Telemachos, our plans changed instantly. We knew we were not going to stay at the hotel very often. The guy that checked us in, was extremely unfriendly. I requested a room with shower (instead of bathtub) and king size bed (instead of 2 twin beds), and he just laughed at us. "Do you think you are the king, for you to request a king-size bed?" ... Whatever, man ... Anyway, he showed us two rooms we could chose from. In both rooms, it was extremely hot when we entered. I was thinking, oh my god, is this the room we'll be staying in for one whole week? I started to feel bad for my girl friend. After paying €45 extra for the air conditioning (without A.C. would be pure suicide !), we settled in a very small room, the bed had a very bad matress, so my girl friend had pain in the back the next morning. The bath room was absolutely horrible. It was so small that while standing in front of the wc you could not close the door. You had to squeeze next to the sink in order to be able to close the door. The shower was 2 feet by 2 feet. There were insects in the room, and one morning we killed the biggest spider I've ever seen in my life, right in the hotel room! I was very very disappointed and didn't really dare to tell my girl friend. She wanted to book a Club Med vacation, but because of me, we were in this awful Telemachos hotel. Breakfast was the same every day. Lunch was really not eatible, and dinner was really not great! Conclusion: we ate outside most of the time, despite our all-in formula: what a waste of money!!!! Speaking of all-in, give me a break! ... Starts at 10AM and ends at 9.30PM, and before you know, the manager shows up at 9.20PPM and closes down the whole thing. Drinks were fake local stuff, soft drinks were warm, the snacks were bad! I belief the employees at Telemachos are very narrow-minded, unfriendly, rude, unprofessional, ... I am happy I will never get to see these people again in my life. So, the day we left, I was so relieved, and did not even look back to say bye to any of them. I think the hotel owner and his wife are not friendly at all. It seems like they would do anything to make your life miserable while in Telemachos. The lunch package that was included if you decided not to eat lunch at the hotel was the following (THIS IS NOT A JOKE): a lousy small bottle of water, and a snack (e.g. package of chips or croissant). In the airplane we talked to other people who stayed at different hotels in Corfu. They all had wonderful experiences, saying their hotel was absolutely great with good food, friendly personnel, ... So, I strongly DISCOURAGE you to stay at this hotel if you ever come to Corfu. There are many better hotels out there for the same price, and even cheaper!!!! Telemachos is a total rip-off!!! In brief: Telemachos: rude personnel, lousy food, fake all-in, microscopic small, old rooms. Don't tell me I didn't warn you!
I read some bad reviews before we left, and slightly put off, I didn't have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised when we got there. The room was clean and neat and was cleaned every other day. It had an en-suite bathroom with a tub, which was a little bit... more
