Telemachos Hotel

My partner and I paid less than £250 each for the flight, transfers and hotel and we definitely got our money's worth! If I pay this amount for an ENTIRE holiday and I get clean, comfortable accommodation that is close to the beach and shopping areas with an excellent (every 15 mins) bus service into the main town, then it's definitely good value for money. I'm really disheartened to see reviews slagging the place off when it's typical Greek accommodation. Our room was cleaned daily, sheets and towels were changed during our stay (how often do you change your sheets at home? I hardly believe it's twice a week or more!) and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
We were on the all inclusive package, though we only bothered with lunch twice in the week as we were usually out exploring during the allotted time slot, though we did grab a snack from the pool bar on return. I would describe the hot food as quite basic but it catered to everyone's tastes. There was *always* lots of fresh salad and bread available so even if the hot food wasn't to your liking, you had an alternative (same for veggie options - they were thin on the ground but my partner managed fine). The chef was very friendly and I noticed he was excellent with the children, always giving them time and handing their food to them personally. To be honest, the kind of people who are writing these bad reviews were the kind of people we were avoiding throughout the week. You only need to look at the spelling and grammar on this site alone to see the class of people you are dealing with... One couple would have breakfast, set up near the pool and then not move from poolside for 7 days except to feed their faces. On the subject of the pool, although we didn't use it (there's a beautiful beach 10 mins walk away) it always looked clean and well maintained, we witnessed staff cleaning each morning prior to opening it again and judging by the excited kids running about, they thought it was pretty good too!
I would recommend upgrading to get an air-conditioned room (we were only charged 35 Euros for this service) as the weather is very hot and you do notice the relief. It also comes in useful during the warmer nights.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again, I might consider half-board just where we didn't make full use of all inclusive - but then again it was handy not to worry about buying drinks and snacks. The only thing I'd do differently is hire a car to be able to see more of the island. The hotel have a list of reputable suppliers so if you follow the advice of the friendly staff you should be ok.
Please don't listen too much to these bad reviews as your holiday is what you make it, and the staff at the Telemachos helped make our holiday wonderful!

"warning" if you have children and are booking this hotel or have book then dont or get a refund this hotel is the worst all inclusive hotel i,ve have ever stayed in. on arriveing at the hotel we were offered an upgrade to the new part of the hotel with air conditioning for an exrta 40 euro which we took i must say the room was nice and large but add an bad mouldy smell none of the rooms come with a tv. at this point i must point out that we check in at recepion 6am saturday later that day we wear told by the rep we had to check out at 12 noon the following friday and with are flight at 6am saturday when i complian to the rep that we had paid for seven night she said becouse are plane left at 11.45pm friday that was classed as a night and which ment we had 16 hours before leaveing we were offered a room extension for an extra 30 euro which obviously we took as we have two young children so after paying are money we were told we would have to pack up buy 12noon friday and move from are room to the other side of the complex to the little pokie room with two single beds which we some how had to sleep in so we had payed 40 euro to upgrade and 30 euro to downgrade what a joke. there is nothing at all for the kids no kids clubs no enterainment at night for them they have a small park which consists of a roundabout slide and a seesaw all deathtraps and then a tiny padding pool as for food they have snack though the day pizzer hotdogs toasties place your order god knowes when it arrives the longiest was an hour the main meals breakfast lunch tea lets say if you like the same food ever day and no choice and no dessert or fruit then this is for you i would say this hotel is suited for coulples and most definiteiy "not" for familys and yes it was a cheep holiday but i would say this was beyond cheep it is a terrible terrible hotel. ever though you think your saving money your not dont book it

I booked this holiday thinking we had had a bargin but infact i felt like we had been robbed and we should of been paid for staying there. On getting there we was shoved in a side room with other guests and was made to stay there for 45 mins when we finally got seen to the receptionist was very very rude. when we finally got to our room i was in so much shock that i started to cry there was blood on the wall human poo,light was hanging off the ceiling,plugs was hanging off the wall the bedding was dirty the beds was broke. the balcony was no better it was dirty there was stray cats sat on the balcony. the bathroom was that dirty and smelly it made you feel ill on having a shower the floor got that wet that i slipped getting out and really hurt my leg. This was my first holiday abroad and it was that bad that i would of rather of stayed in blackpool for 2 weeks. The staff were rude and abusive the hotel owner threatened me and my partner i was that scared that we ended up forking out 250 euro to stay at different accomidation. We reported it to the rep and olympic and thomas cook on a number of occasions to be told there was nothing they could do even tho the rep had witnessed the receptionist and owner threaten us. I could of understood it if we was troubled guests but we went on a holiday for some relaxing time after a busy year and tried to keep our selves to ourselves. When we was there on all the guests that were staying there not 1 was happy.And as for people being ill after eating food there it probably doesn't help the hotel kitchen staff feeding the stray cats in the kitchen door ways and i have pictures of that. I could go on and on about this place but i dont think there is enough room.
The whole experiance of the holiday was ruiened as it made me ill and all i could do was cry and it didnt help i was poorly and covered in a rash from diry bedding that had been on 6 day into the holiday my partner had to beg the maid for clean towels and bedding and she wasn't for doing it.
I ADVISE STAY WELL AWAY AND DON'T TRUST THE OLYMPIC ITS TRUE WHAT THEY SAY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR BUT EVEN SO YOU SHOULD GET HALF DECENT ACCOMIDATION VERY RUDE AND HORRIBLE STAFF. THE ISLAND ON A WHOLE IS LOVELY JUST THAT 1 HOTEL THAT GIVES DASSIA A BAD NAME!!

I have returned from Corfu today after staying for a week at this hotel, and like a lot of people I was very nervous as to what I would find when we got there.
My friend and I (both in our mid twenties) knew not to expect the Ritz when we booked as the hotel only has a 2.5 star rating, and we were not disappointed.
We stayed in the old building, had our beds made every day and towels and sheets changed halfway through our holiday. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and polite to us, and considering how hard they worked (I saw every single one of them every day of the week), we felt that they went out of their way to make our holiday a good one.
Yes, the wasp situation is bad around the pool, but to be fair it is also bad in the local bars and tavernas. We also found out the day before we came home that the reason for this was because the island had seen no rain for 5 months, and then yesterday the mother of all thunderstorms hit so hopefully this should sort it out for those of you going in the next few weeks.
In summary if you're looking for a base then you won't find much wrong with this hotel, but from the stories we heard from the people who had gone all inclusive I'd advise against paying the extra for it as the bar closes at half 9.

My friend and I have just arrived home this morning after enjoying a weeks stay in this hotel, we were aware of the rating 2.5 star. On all inclusive basis we were pleased with the food having 3 or 4 choices the chef "Derek" was very friendly and went out of his way to ask if the food was good and made a point of wishing us a safe journey home. The waiters were ALL very friendly and polite. We stayed in the old part of the hotel which was clean albeit basic, this is what we expected to find as Greek accomodation is known for this. As for the wasps this is completely out of their control being environmental, as are mosquitos. Entertainment was on for 6 days of our stay and was adequate/enjoyable the barman in the lounge bar always had a smile for everyone and was very polite.

me and my friend stayed at this hotel,befor we went we was dreading it with the reports we read,we stayed in the new part it was lovely,we got clean sheets and towels everyday,the staff was friendly and always willing to help,the food wasnt bad,the bbq was lovely,yes they was a problem with wasps but we used to ignore them,we had a great holliday and met lots of people,its a lovely island.the only dissapointment we had is the allinclusive bar shut at 9.30pm,please dont be put off with all the negative comments,i dont no wat people want for a 2 star hotel you pay for wat u get.

veryy dissapointed!!! were given an old room, the bathroom needed a good modernising.. the drain or the toilet stunk!! only stayed a week and was glad! looking at the reviews we thought we would give it a try but all the reviews are very true!! we stayed bed and breakfast, our first morning we were put off straight away, wasps and flys flying and landing on the dirty grey black coloured eggs that they serve.

on a psitive the pool wasnt too bad, we enjoyed using it. the staff were rude, very unhelpful and blunt. definatly not for people who find it difficult walking. the steep slopes really did you in by the time you reached the top.
were told that we would need air con for the night but in fact it got cold so they obviously just wanted the money and conned us.

don't expect too much. from wot we heard from people staying all inclusive the food was awful and not even the ferral cats would eat it....!

Hmmm well i thought people were being a bit picky when i saw the reviews and guess what i was wrong soooo wrong booked 2 weeks bed n b/fast stayed 12hrs what a dirty grotty smelly hotel.... i cant comment on the new block as i didnt see it but i saw enough to walk after 12hrs!! my room was stinking my son was retching i know corfu has a whiffy smell i have been holidaying in Greece for 20yrs and never have i come across anything so grotty in my life, i know you get what you pay for but i'm sorry i wouldnt stay in the hovel for free!!!! the big scary woman on reception was rude arrogant and really didn't give a S***she just wanted your money ....luckily for me my parents were staying at the Eliana so they fixed it for me to stay there for the 13days i had left. Telemachos is a bad choice all round the shower was filthy and held up with string the floors were vile as were the drawers and other bedroom furniture was dirty the pool was even worse couldn't even see the bottom of it!! urghhh no thats all its just a vile hotel and i wonder how it keeps going

stayed for two weeks all inclusive at the telemachos from the first of august and feel the need to write a review for the first time ever.paid the extra 90 euros for the aircon wich was a godsend due to the 40 degree heat. the rooms were really quite nice and for a two star, excellent. maid service for us was very good although i did hear some complaints from other guests. so it was pretty good right ?

it was the worst holiday i have ever had by a country mile. the all inclusive is a complete rip off. finishes at 9.30 and and the drinks are all watered down and the cheapest beer and spirits available . and the food! icannot possibly describe to you how disgraceful the food is. please beleive me as i am a chef by trade and love to try the local dishes when i am away so im not a chip eating brit. unrecognisable dishes served in long trays like a canteen spooned out by a grotty looking guy who thinks he can cook. everything was luke warm including the salad, and things were reused not once but some times three times. there was spaghetti neopolitan on monday, cheese sauce added tuesday so it was pink, and then it was thickened wednesday and called cheese pie still with the spaghetti in! absolutely appalling presentation and a couldnt care less attitude were the norm not just in the dining room. these people dont care about anything they do and view guests as an inconvenience. it is not enough to say it is just a two star. im not after five star service just a smile would do! .
went all inclusive and spent a thousand pounds eating out and getting a drink that was in a real glass . dassia is pretty but very very quiet. in the two weeks there was one duo in one pub and a few karaoke nights and that was it. far too quiet for us but i understand people may like that. i think maybe the hotel spoiled the resort for us so please be aware that dassia and ipsos next door are good resorts with fantastic beaches just dont stay at the telemachos.

absolutely shocking. dirty rooms. rude staff. disgraceful food.
for 2.5* we were expecting a little more hygiene! dirty sheets which did not get changed ONCE the whole 8 days we were there. room service was appalling and the little they did was scruffy.
we got treated with no respect whatsoever and were quite obviously not cared about at all.
manager was selfish.
not spent one day by the pool as the area was swarmed with wasps! you could not leave your drinks or food for 2 seconds without a wasp landing in it!
we came all inclusive, got told there was a wide range of local drinks available to us which never once did we come across in any bars or shops!
never once did we eat at the hotel after trying dinner on our first night, spent most of our money eating out which left us with no money to do what we originally planned on doing so.
we do not recommend this hotel to anyone! not even our worst enemys. truely a shocking shocking holiday...

Well were do i start we asked to be in the new block at a cost of 90 euros witch was more then the reviews said but turned out to be worth it when we saw the old block! the main problem to this place is the food where there is no choice and you just get water at lunch time. the food is YUK we ended up eating out all the time cause its that bad and they don't cater for kids! we spent all our spending money eating out and every nationality was complaining,now for the pool the kids enjoyed the pool but we couldn't relax around pool and watch them because of the wasps from hell! me and my partner were stung. everytime you had food or a drink you were attacked when you got food from the pool side at the snacks bar.the sunbeds looked like they were ready for the tip and were dangerous,as they had metal bolts sticking out.if you use the laundry make sure you get a recipt as they lost my designer t-shirt which one of there cats from the hotel [--] on it,when i put it on balcony to dry.put it this way we won't be going back and everybody we spoke to won't be either the people who put 8/10 on the reviews on this site need there heads looking at. we now have a dispute with thomas cook ongoing i suggest you do the same and get this place shut down! For my final note what all inclusive shuts at 9.30pm its a JOKE...if you read this review before you are due to go there cancel it go somewhere else.

Tilemachos hotel as other people have commented this is by no doubt the worst holiday we have ever had,dirty pool rude staff if they didnt like the questions asked,wasps making it impossible to relax ,drinks that had been spilt and not washed away made it worse,being ripped off by the staff i was charged twenty euros for one coke two wkds and a larger,sewage smells every evening,some of our rooms were not cleaned properly,towels still had dirty marks on them when they were suposed to have been cleaned, many of us didnt bother with the food as that wasnt very good either,and the sight of the rather large manager wiping sweat from his underarms and face and neck with servietes didnt help the food go down,a rat was spotted on a couple of occasions running throught the dinning room,and while i am on the subject of animals the cats on the hotel premises looked like they were all full of fleas and worms really thin looking, on our last day we asked if we could use the lounge as we had to vacate our room by 12am we were told yes but it had to be cleaned at three we left while they did the job but when it was finished they locked the door so we couldnt get back in when i asked why we couldnt use it the assistant manager said that it had just been cleaned and could not be used until 7 pm when i again asked why we could not use the lounge he completly ignored me and walked away later talking to other staff and what seemed to us that he was pointing us out this is just some of the things about this hotel i could go on and on we read some of the comments before going on the hotel but thought they were expecting too much for a two star hotel i dont think it should have any stars at all

my 2 daughters 18 and 14 and i have just returned from Dassia and the Tilemachos Hotel we found the staff friendly they all work extremly hard in the 2 weeks we were there none of them had a day off. The room we had was basic but clean the cleaning ladies came in every day and changed the towels and sheets at least every other day so i have no complaints there. The breakfasts were acceptable its just a shame some people are so greedy and wastefull. The children complained that the water in the pool was freezing cold this doesnt bother me im a beach babe myself. I feel that the hotel could have done more about the wasp situation a bees nest was hanging from one of the new block roof and should have been destroyed and tables could have been wiped more frequently and residents could have helped by not leaving drinks and food lying around fault on both parts. Dassia is lovelly but to quiet for me. I will visit this resort again when i have explored the other greek islands. A complaint to Olympic Holidays is your reps need a lesson or two in public relations and simple good manners . Overall our holiday was what we made of it we enjoyed it very much, and our hotel was satisfactory.

I had read varying reports on this hotel ranging from dire to superb so had no idea what to expect when we arrived four weeks ago. We booked the bed and breakfast option and had no complaints whatsoever. It did appear that the people on all inclusive were less impressed but I couldn’t really comment.

I travelled with my wife and 2 boys aged 8& 4, the room was small but we only really slept in it caused no problems. It wasn’t spotlessly clean but it wasn’t dirty and the sheets and towels were changed 3 if not 4 times. There was one time when we thought they needed changing so we asked at reception and they were done by the time we got back in the evening.

Breakfast was ok if not a bit repetitive, drinks from the bar seemed quite expensive, but then don’t they always? To us all the Staff were all fine, especially Nondas who hunted high and low late one night for a fan when one of my boys had a temperature. It did seem to help if you were polite to them and tried the odd Greek phrase or thank you!

My only negative comment is about the pool. It is very cloudy! Had I have been spending any time in it I think I would have said something, as it was we were either travelling to other places on the island or on the nearby beach. It is also the centre for the evening ‘entertainment’. If you are unfortunate enough to face onto the pool area do not expect any quiet evenings, it was usually midnight before the music etc stopped. Fortunately we were round the back in the old part and it was really just background noise and certainly didn’t affect the kids sleeping. It did tend to suffer with wasps as a lot of people have said but personally I found the all inclusive kids who were eating and drinking in the water itself more annoying. No doubt this is why its so cloudy!?

Overall we thought the hotel was ok, It was relatively cheap, relatively basic but clean and friendly. I would go back but felt that Corfu in general was very commercialised and will be visiting some smaller islands first.

we went to tilemachos hotel and it was dirty ,food rubbish, bar staff perverts to all the young girls,owners dont care what happens once you are there, you cant see the bottom of the pool.Sun loungers are broken, wasps and bees every where,toilets are disgusting by the bar,you have a little hole in the wall for your allinclusive drinks and snacks.Before you even think of stopping there please have a good look at some of the beautiful hotels and appartments in dassia,you will regret ever going to tilemachos hotel we did and so did everyone else who were there. the food at breakfast was awful the lunch was awful and the dinner was even worse ,what you had at dinner you had the next day made into somethink like a pie the bbq is not bbqed it goes in the oven and served out side with all the wasps and bees.Iwouldnt put a pig in that place.
